There was a break in the rains today, and the morning was bright and dry, with a breeze from the southwest. I took the Psychlo-X out for a ride along the Naamsesteenweg into Hamme Mille. Pushing onwards with the breeze blowing from my right I rode all the way to Jodoigne. Here I took a left towards Tienen. With the wind in my back now and I was able to maintain a good pace passing through Zetrud-Lumay and past Hoegaarden. Near to the E40 the bikepath ended and I had to look a bit to see where I should be cycling to reach Tienen. I needed to get on the R27 but the trouble is that the bikepath only extends from the Leuvensesteenweg to the road towards Hoegaarden. So from where I was coming I needed to ride into Tienen, and then find my way towards the R27 and its bikepath. With a bit of to and fro I succeeded and soon I was on the Leuvensesteenweg, with the breeze blowing from the left this time. I was glad I reached the Mol and could turn left on the Meerdalboslaan. I was sheltered from the headwind by the low shrubberies on my right for a while but once past the Geldenaaksebaan I had the wind straight in my face for the last couple of kilometers. Still, I had a good feeling in my legs and back.
