The weather looked like it would remain dry, at least for the first half of the day, so I took my chance and ventured out on the Vortex for the Ronde van Leuven. Starting in the little school of Blanden, the Ronde took a clockwise turn around Leuven. First the ride went to the Zoete Waters, and onwards to Oud-Heverlee. From there it went to Arenberg and Terbank. Down into Winksele where the first stop was. I had no need for anything so I just checked which direction I should take and rode on.

From Winksele we followed the railroad to Herent all the way to Wilsele . Here I crossed the Vaart and followed that for a while until I took a right turn towards the Aarschotsesteenweg. Followed that for a short while and then another right turn took me into the Pleinstraat. I was speeding along and I missed an arrow and had to retrace my steps all the way to the beginning of the Pleinstraat. Following some smaller roads towards Holsbeek and then onwards to Kortrijk-Dutsel and Sint Pieters Rode. Taking a right turn towards the south - and into the wind and up a hill - things were a bit more difficult. Another right turn and slowly making my way back east to Linden. Some smaller roads here, lots of twisting and turning. Spotting the Vlierbeek Abbey on my right before turning into Kessel Lo

In Kessel Lo we were in for a lot of small roads, crossing roads, and even 150 meters of gravel in the Michottepark. Nothing to worry about but it took the speed out of the ride. Crossing the Tiensesteenweg and I was on my way to Korbeek Lo. From there Lovenjoel was just around the corner. From Lovenjoel it went to Bierbeek and then back to Blanden. Had a good ride, even though my lower back was still giving me pangs of pain from time to time. It seems it will take some time to settle after being manipulated last friday.
