The weather looked like it would remain dry, at least for the first half of the day, so I took my chance and ventured out on the Vortex for the Ronde van Leuven. Starting in the little school of Blanden, the Ronde took a clockwise turn around Leuven. First the ride went to the Zoete Waters, and onwards to Oud-Heverlee. From there it went to Arenberg and Terbank. Down into Winksele where the first stop was. I had no need for anything so I just checked which direction I should take and rode on.

Last evening saw me at Pierrot Devroede , for a chiropractic session to loosen my lower back and spinal cord. This left me with a feeling of being run over by a car this morning so I decided to have a spin on the Hilset, mounted on the Tacx Satori. E-reading Dan Browns' "Inferno" and listening to Neil Youngs' "Prairie Wind" the time passed quickly.

Fine weather this evening and when I arrived home from work I got on the Psychlo-X for a mixed ride . I set out towards Arenberg and made my way to the Brusselsesteenweg next to the KBC building. I had done a walk up the Mollekensberg during my noon break and I wanted to check out this area with the bike. Up and down the Mollenkensberg into Herent. Riding to the Leuvense vaart I followed that until I reached Wijgmaal. I returned to the south along the Lijnloperspad following the river Dyle. Riding to Holsbeek was next. In Holsbeek I took a 160 degree turn to the right up the Meesberg. Along the Meesbergpad and then down to the Holsbeeksesteenweg. Up the Kloosterbosstraat and then into the Boskouter to reach the Schoolbergenstraat . I saw the Vlierbeek Abdij and zigzagged towards the Diestsesteenweg in Kessel Lo. The steep Heidebergstraat was next and then I was on the crest overlooking Korbeek Lo. To Bierbeek and then into Meerdael Forest along the Sint Joris Weert straat to reach the Naamsesteenweg. Following that into Blanden I completed my lap around Leuven. The weather was great with an average temperature of 26 degrees and a mild breeze from the East.

Started out in the afternoon for a mixed ride. Through Meerdael towards Beauvechain and then from L'Ecluse over small backroads to Hoegaarden. A lot of cobbles here and with my tyres inflated to 3.5 bars on the Psychlo-X I could not really enjoy the bumpy ride. But on the field and forest trails the pumped up tyres did not bother me. When I was on tarmac, of course 3.5 bars are a blessing. Stopping in Hoegaarden to take a picture of its church.

Riding onwards to the ravel and following that for a while until I took a right turn towards Saint Marie Geest. Lost some time looking for a road that wasn't there but then I rode on towards Melin. When I reached the N240 I followed that until I took a right turn on a cobble road towards the little chapel in the fields of Nodebais. I like to stop here for a while and took advantage of the sunlight to take another picture.

On field roads again and through Nodebais, Hamme Mille and Valduc towards the Meerdael Forest again. Following the Prosperdreef until I reached the Weertse Dreef and then took a right towards the Naamsesteenweg and home.
