Went for a 50 minutes ride this late afternoon, the legs feeling good. I did some serious Core Stab exercises afterwards and also tried my hand at inflating my newly-acquired Adidas fitness ball. I tried some exercises my kine thought me and it went well. I remembered being sore for two days afterwards in my abdominals so I did not overdo it. Just checking out the ball.

Another fine and busy day at work. When I got home I was ready for a relaxing ride on the Tacx Satori. Clearing my head and making my muscles work. 40 minutes later I was ready. Afterwards I did my Core Stab exercises. Ellen Delie gave me some new variations on the exercises I already did, making them a little bit more difficult.

First this late afternoon I had an appointment with Ellen Delie, my kinesitherapist. I had last sunday as a pain-free day and in general, it seems my hip and SI joint are becoming stronger through the Core Stab exercises. Still a long way to go but at least we're moving in the right direction. Did some Core Stab exercises there and also got a deep rub .
When I got home I stepped onto the Hilset on the Tacx Satori. 40 minutes passed quickly and afterwards I only did my stretching exercises, no more Core Stab since I had enough of that at the kine.

I felt good after yesterdays'outdoor ride but decided to stay indoors today for an easy recovery ride on the Tacx Satori. Reading 'salems' Lot on my Kindle and listening to Within Temptation on Spotify, 40 minutes flew by.

It was warm and dry this morning. A perfect day for a ride outside. Grabbing the Psychlo-X I rode out along the Naamsesteenweg towards the Weertse Dreef. From Sint JorisWeert it went to Sint Agatha Rode where I took a left towards Eerken. The wind was blowing from the south, a sweet warm breeze. My back felt OK but I took care not to push too hard when I rode towards Archennes and Grez. The long climb along the Rue de Jodoigne was taken with ease and determination. The bikepath is littered with all sorts of stuff and I was glad my tyres were the 32mm Challenge Grifos. No worries about slipping away on some nut, or other branch. Out on the plains I took a left towards Hamme Mille, but rode through Nodebais and Mille before joing the Naamsesteenweg riding back north towards Blanden. A good ride, I was very pleased with it.

Another Tacx Satori workout, relaxing but still pedalling fast on the rhythm of Within Temptations' 'Faster'. Legs felt fine and Core Stab exercises afterwards went well.

Came home late in the afternoon after a well-filled day at work. Got on the Tacx Satori for half an hour of recovery ride. Legs felt OK. Got my flu shot today so the next couple of days may see a drop in form.

The last couple of days I had to pay with pain a wrong movement I made during one of my Core Stab exercises on saturday. Yesterdays' visit to the kinesist made up for it though, got a good massage and the pain was mostly gone afterwards.
So today I got back on the Tacx for an easy 30 minutes of cycling. Legs felt strong after 2 days of rest and I had a good workout.

With the passing of the weeks the urge to take a bike and cycle outside became bigger. My kinesist wasn't against it, but she cautioned me to be careful, easy riding only. Today I decided to try my luck and take the Moots Psychlo-X outside for an easy spin. It was cold and sunny. Lovely weather for it.
I was very tense when I started out along the Naamsesteenweg towards Hamme Mille. I felt no particular pain or bother but I stayed on the small ring . Into Hamme Mille, Les Claines and then towards Nethen. I felt elated and a joy which can only be felt by someone who was apart from somthing he loved for a long time.

    IMG_20131012_120324

The legs felt great but my heartrate raced up towards 160bpm. Out of anxiety perhaps? Who cares, nothing wrong with my heart, it can take it. Into Sint Joris Weert and up the Hollestraat towards the Weertse Dreef I could measure myself against the hill. Spinning easily not to put too much pressure on the hips and lower back. All went fine and before long I was back at the Naamsesteenweg.

My evening started off with a session with kinesitherapist Ellen Delie. Showing me some new Core Stab exercises, more difficult than the previous ones. I need a workout mat soon now, because these exercises demand a solid yet complient surface. I have ordered this one.
She also showed me an exercise with a big exercise ball, but since I don't have a ball like that, there is no use in persuing that.
When I got home I got on the Tacx Satori and rode for 30 minutes. My legs felt fresher and stronger than yesterday. Afterwards I did some Core Stab exercises but not as many as I usually do, due to my kine visit earlier.

Took the time for an hours' worth of Tacx Satori. The legs felt fine although a litle tired. The resistance was upped by inflating the rear tyre to 3 bars, causing it to press harder against the steel roller. But the ride went well and the Core Stab exercises afterwards also left me with a good feeling.

An easy half hours on the Tacx Satori today. I finished the 'return of the sorcerer' by Clark Ashton Smith and started reading Stephen Kings' "Salems Lot" on my Kindle. This is one of the many bone-chilling tales I remember seeing the TV movie version of,  a long time ago.
The legs felt good and I had a good session of Core Stability exercices afterwards.

Arriving home late in the afternoon I sat on the Hilset on the Tacx Satori for 30 minutes of recovery. Pace and speed were high but the legs felt good and strong. Another one of the hellish tales of Averoigne passed before my eyes on the Kindle.

Half an hour on the Tacx Satori was sufficient for me today. I still use the lowest resistance and can keep the speed and the revs high because of that.
