The weather had a dry intermezzo between 2 rain zones so I rode out with the Moots Psychlo-X for a mixed ride. Taking me over Egenhoven and Leuven to Bertem, Leefdaal and back to Egenhoven. I did enjoy the nice temperatures and the sun which was shyly trying to pierce the evaporating clouds. Clouds that were hurried on by a notice-able easterly breeze.

I started the new year with a 10.5K walk in the AM. The weather was fine with sun and temperatures around 8 degrees C. In the afternoon I decided to take the Moots Psychlo-X out for a spin into Meerdael forest. The trails were mois but not overly so and I tried to stay on the bigger roads. I made a big loop in the forest and ended up in Nethen. Taking the tarmac towards Sint Joris Weert I could recuperate from the offroad effort. In Weert I rode into the forest again for a stretch past the Kluis and crossing the Weertse Dreef , riding towards the Steenberg and then looping back to the Langendaal and then crossing the Prosperdreef and riding into Blanden to finish the ride.

This was my last ride of 2015.I did a solid 35 minutes of Tacx Satori cycling .2015 has been a year of mixed emotions, but for cycling it was a good year. I did not do so many K's as I usually do, due to a hot summer and a couple of weeks' off due to minor health problems. But I am happy with this year since it marked my return to the road and to longer rides.
Another beautiful sunny and mild day. When I got home from work I settled on a Tacx Satori ride. Reading the latest 'Weirdbook' on my Kindle I rode 30 minutes on a good pace. Legs felt a little tired from yesterdays' 2 hours outside ride and from the long walk I did during my mid day break but I could maintain a good pace and speed.
It remained dry yesterday so this morning saw relatively dried out trails when I set out into Meerdael forest with the Moots Psychlo-X. I rode south and east through the forest , arriving in Mille and from there onwards to La Bruyere and l'Ecluse. Taking backroads I made my way to Sint Katelijne Houthem where I stopped at the Marollen chapel for a rest and a photograph or two. On through Hoksem and then Kumtich where the climb towards the E40 brought me a fierce wind in the face. Battling towards Willebringen where the wind turned - or rather I turned - so that it came more from the side. Nearing 2 hours on the bike and I was back in Bierbeek and Mollendaal where I rode into the forest again, following the Weertse Dreef until I reached the Herculesdreef. Making a last loop before following the Langendaal back towards the Prosperdreef and into Blanden. had a very rewarding ride today, with a good feeling in the legs. I enjoyed the long ride and also the mild temperatures and the sun. The wind was another matter but I survived so I was glad with that as well

Christmas 2015 brought us mild temperatures but a dreary rain that would linger on through the entire day. Any plans I had to cycle outside quickly evaporated and I settled on a 7.5K forest hike in the AM instead.
In the late afternoon I got on the Tacx for half an hour of relaxing cycling . Legs felt a bit tired from the walk but after a couple of minutes they started to feel less contracted and I was able to maintain a good pace.
Busy day at work but I was lloking forward to a good recovery ride on the Tacx Satori. My legs were a little painful after yesterdays' core session which included squats and lunges but once I got on the bike and started pedalling the pain went and the blood started flowing . I was able to maintain a good pace with a low average heartrate of 96bpm.
Another relatively warm day so I took a long mid-day break to walk over to Leuvens Botanic gardens. After work I settled for a 41-minute ride on the Tacx Satori. Long enough to get the recovery juices flowing in my legs. Good pace, and a relatively low heartrate of 95bpm on average .
The weather had been quite extraordinary for the time of year. Clear skies and temperatures over 11 degrees C lured me out on the Moots Psychlo-X for a spin into the forest. Starting out in Meerdael and then riding north into the Heverlee Forest where I followed my front wheel chich took me to surprisingly fast and almost dried-out trails. The occasional puddle notwithstanding this was a dry ride. I rode to the Heverlee barracks where I did a tour on their practice roads before returning to the Naamsesteenweg and up along the E40 towards the Waversebaan. Back into the forest again towards the Zoete Waters and onwards towards the Langendaal and then a last loop down into Vaalbeek and home along the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwstraat into Blanden. legs felt a bit tired from yesterdays' 20.5K hike but they did feel strong on the climbs and overall I was happy to maintain a good pace.

I took a long midday break to enjoy a walk in the Vrijbroekpark. It is december but we are still enjoying temperatures of 15 degrees C and more. When I got home from work I decided on an indoor riding session and thus got on the Hilset which is mounted on the Tacx Satori . Enjoying a read in the last Weirdbook on my Kindle and listening to some tunes on Spotify, half an hour flew by. My legs felt good .
I had a day off from work today so in the AM I went for a long forest work in the drizzle. In the early evening I decided to do a ride on the Tacx Satori as well. Legs felt fine but I kept the gears low enough not to strain them too much after the pounding they got during the forest walk. All went fine and I could maintain a good pace at a low heartrate.
I was looking forward to a recovery ride on the Tacx in the late afternoon so upong arriving home from work I started on a solid 41 minutes of cycling. Legs felt fine and I could keep the average heartrate low and the revs high..
It was raining this morning and it looks like this drizzle will last for the rest of the day. A day to stay indoors and have a relaxing ride on the Tacx Satori. Legs felt a bit heavy but I managed to go for 31 minutes .
It was raining heavily today and I was glad I had the option to ride on the Hilset on the Tacx Satori. I had the latest Weirdbook on my Kindle and whilst listening to my favorite tunes on Spotify I rode for 45 minutes at a steady pace . The legs felt great and I was feeling fresh throughout the ride
Sunny skies this morning and I decided on a recovery ride with the Psychlo-X. Starting out through Meerdael Forest for a ride along the bigger trails I intended to avoid the mud. It had rained a bit yesterday and I was not in the mood for a mudfest. Trails were relatively dry though and I decided to ride towards the Zoete Waters and the return over Vaalbeek. Into Heverlee forest for a quick spin towards the Arboretum and then to the Heverlee barracks . Returning over Haasrode and Blanden I was glad to have completed an hour + ride. Legs felt fine.

Lovely temperatures out there today but when I arrived home it was already way past dusk so I settled for an easy recovery ride on the Hilset on the Tacx Satori. The legs felt rested after a saturday walk and a sunday in the couch. I could maintain a good average speed whilst only making an average heartrate of 93bpm throughout the ride.
I had a pretty intense week at work and on wednesday was able to squeeze in a 12K walk. Today I went for a ride on the Tacx Satori. Just half an hour of relaxing cycling at a reasonable pace and on a low resistance, 2 out of 10 , to give the legs a good blood rush.
It was raining cats and dogs outside so the decision to stay indoors and have a good recovery ride on the Tacx Satori rollers , was quickly and swiftly made. The legs felt fine after last weekends 19 and 10K walks. I was surprised but happy and could maintain a good pace whilst listening to some Axel Erik Pell through Spoitfy and reading a short story by Ray Bradbury on the Kindle
Time for another ride on the Hilset on the Tacx Satori. I was feeling fine and I could maintain a good pace throughout the ride. Reading one of the many stories on my Kindle and listening to my favourite tunes on Spotify half an hour passed very quickly.
