Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen Another relatively warm day so I took a long mid-day break to walk over to Leuvens Botanic gardens. After work I settled for a 41-minute ride on the Tacx Satori. Long enough to get the recovery juices flowing in my legs. Good pace, and a relatively low heartrate of 95bpm on average .

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen The weather had been quite extraordinary for the time of year. Clear skies and temperatures over 11 degrees C lured me out on the Moots Psychlo-X for a spin into the forest. Starting out in Meerdael and then riding north into the Heverlee Forest where I followed my front wheel chich took me to surprisingly fast and almost dried-out trails. The occasional puddle notwithstanding this was a dry ride. I rode to the Heverlee barracks where I did a tour on their practice roads before returning to the Naamsesteenweg and up along the E40 towards the Waversebaan. Back into the forest again towards the Zoete Waters and onwards towards the Langendaal and then a last loop down into Vaalbeek and home along the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwstraat into Blanden. legs felt a bit tired from yesterdays' 20.5K hike but they did feel strong on the climbs and overall I was happy to maintain a good pace.

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen I took a long midday break to enjoy a walk in the Vrijbroekpark. It is december but we are still enjoying temperatures of 15 degrees C and more. When I got home from work I decided on an indoor riding session and thus got on the Hilset which is mounted on the Tacx Satori . Enjoying a read in the last Weirdbook on my Kindle and listening to some tunes on Spotify, half an hour flew by. My legs felt good .

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen I had a day off from work today so in the AM I went for a long forest work in the drizzle. In the early evening I decided to do a ride on the Tacx Satori as well. Legs felt fine but I kept the gears low enough not to strain them too much after the pounding they got during the forest walk. All went fine and I could maintain a good pace at a low heartrate.

I had the latest Weirdbook on my Kindle and whilst listening to my favorite tunes on Spotify I rode for 45 minutes at a steady pace . The legs felt great and I was feeling fresh throughout the ride

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen Sunny skies this morning and I decided on a recovery ride with the Psychlo-X. Starting out through Meerdael Forest for a ride along the bigger trails I intended to avoid the mud. It had rained a bit yesterday and I was not in the mood for a mudfest. Trails were relatively dry though and I decided to ride towards the Zoete Waters and the return over Vaalbeek. Into Heverlee forest for a quick spin towards the Arboretum and then to the Heverlee barracks . Returning over Haasrode and Blanden I was glad to have completed an hour + ride. Legs felt fine.

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen Lovely temperatures out there today but when I arrived home it was already way past dusk so I settled for an easy recovery ride on the Hilset on the Tacx Satori. The legs felt rested after a saturday walk and a sunday in the couch. I could maintain a good average speed whilst only making an average heartrate of 93bpm throughout the ride.

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen I had a pretty intense week at work and on wednesday was able to squeeze in a 12K walk. Today I went for a ride on the Tacx Satori. Just half an hour of relaxing cycling at a reasonable pace and on a low resistance, 2 out of 10 , to give the legs a good blood rush.

Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen It was raining cats and dogs outside so the decision to stay indoors and have a good recovery ride on the Tacx Satori rollers , was quickly and swiftly made. The legs felt fine after last weekends 19 and 10K walks. After a couple of weeks off of the bike, I decided it was time for a ride again. I have been keeping myself busy with long forest walks so my fitness was certainly not gone, only biking fitness is not the same as walking fitness. So I started out with the Moots YBB on relatively easy forest trails. The trails were fine, dry with some moist pathces here and there. There had been a lot of wind last night so the leaves were blown away but the tracks were littered with fallen branches of all sizes. Everyting went fine, I had a good time riding outside again and enjoyed the relatively mild november temperatures we have seen for the last couple of weeks.

After a cold and wet week, I was happy to be able to get on my YBB for a ride. I decided to follow my front wheel and it first took me to Heverlee forest and along the Green BLOSO towards Korbeek Dyle. Here I followed narrow tracks through the fields to reach the Sint Jansberg steenweg. I was taking a right and up the hill and then down again into Leefdaal. Some pretty muddy tracks here but after crossing the Steenweg again and ridign towards the borders of the river Ijse I entered Margijsbos and here I had to climb. No mud here, instead good traction. Down towards the Wolfshagen, up again on the Smeysberg plateau and the down into Sint Agatha Rode. Entering Meerdael Forest not much later for a last couple of kilometers in the majestic autumn forest.

Having done the Dikke Beuk Wandeling on foot yesterday I wanted to ride it on a bike today. I noticed yesterday that the trails were still wet but not overly so. There was only one part of the ride that could - and would - cause me to walk for a couple of meters. Just before the steep climb along the Grezstraat towards the Kromme Dreef. The rest of the track was moist with soem puddles, but they were all countourable and adding to the fun of biking these relatively narrow trails. I quite enjoyed myself and did a second lap at a highre pace than the first. Obvioulsy because I knew where the traps were and where I could let the bike roll after the first lap provided me with a good insight on the trails.

Today saw a grey start but with a temperature of around 11 degrees it was quite mild. The forest roads were moist but not overly wet when I set out for a first 12k lap from Meerdael over Kouter into Heverlee forest. All the way to the Arboretum and then back over Vaalbeek into the Meerdael forest. When I was halfway through the second lap it started to drizzle. Trails got wetter and the fun quickly vanished out of the ride. I completed the 12k lap, added another little one and then rode home.
