Looked like a fine morning dor a bike ride so I took the Moots Psychlo-X out for a spin . Riding relaxed I made my way through Heverlee Arenberg towards Egenhoven where I ventured on the plateau to reach Duisburg. From Duisburg to Huldenberg and grinding up the hill and speeding down again into Terlanen. Over Sint Agatha Rode and Sint Joris Weert into the Weertsedreef and back into Blanden along the Naamsesteenweg. A fine little ride that washed my legs from a week of hiking..

After a week of hiking, I was ready for a long ride on the Moots Pqychlo-X. I decided to ride along the N91 until I reached Eghezee or 1h15, whatever came first. There was a mild wind blowing so I struggled to reach Eghezee. Just before Eghezee my clock said that I was 1h15 out so I made a 180 and rode back along the same way whence I came. This part of the ride went a lot easier due to the lack of wind. My legs felt a little tired but I was glad I did the effort .

Time for a ride. I have been hiking for 7 days in a row and my muscles began to harden. So I needed a bike ride to soften them up a bit. I started out over the Zoete Waters and Sint Joris Weert. On to Nethen , Hamme Mille and Nodebais and then up to Beauvechain where I took a left turn to Opvelp. Bierbeek was next and then through Haasrode againts a noticeable wind back to Blanden. Relaxing ride.

It rained a lot last night, dropping the temperatures from the low thirties to 20 degrees C. The air also felt cleansed. I started out over the Zoete Waters and Sint Joris Weert to reach Ottenburg after a long climb with a strong wind in my face. From Ottenburg I rode on to the outskirts of Wavre and then took a right turn towards Overijse. From Overijse to Egenhoven I could enjoy a gentle push from the wind and was able to relax a bit after the hard work in the first half of the ride. From Egenhoven I rode over Arenberg and Heverlee forest to the Naamse Steenweg..

Time for a ride. I started out as usual following the Tiensesteenweg from Korbeek Lo to Tienen, then to Hoegaarden where I injected myself on the Ravel. The wind was blowing dry and strong from the East-North-East and I was relieved to feel it in my back when I arrived in Jodoigne. I rode to Jodoigne-Souveraine and then just outside Dongelberg I took a right turn towards Lathuy. Some more wind blowing in my face but upon reaching the N91 I took a left turn and cruised towards Hamme Mille with the hand of God giving me a gentle push in my back.

Yesterday it rained the whole day so I shifted my ride to today. Was dry and sunny but not too warm, ideal for a ride. Rode to Jodoigne and then to Hoegaarden and finished my ride along the Tiensesteenweg to Leuven and along the expressway back to Blanden. Good feeling in the legs.

Starting out over Hamme Mille and then onwards towards Melin for a 2 hour ride. The weather was slightly overcast but the sun was peeping through the clouds from time to time. I took the Psychlo-X out again and kept an easy bt steady pace. Over Melin to reach Saint-Remi-Geest and Saint-Marie-Geest. Some cobbles here but then I reached the ravel 2 and set course for Hoegaarden. From Hoegaarden I rode towards the R27 ring around Tienen. Along the Tiensesteenweg towards Boutersem and then onto the N25 back to Blanden. This was a good ride and even though I have been hiking a lot the last couple of days, I felt no fatigue in my muscles.

Time for a ride. The sun was out but a little bit veiled. Nevertheless it was warm even in the early morning hours. I rode towards Tienen for a bigger lap and I was glad there was some shade from time to time. The wind was blowing from the southwest and didn't bother me yet. Turning to the right towards Hoegaarden brought me into the wind and I had to dig a little deeper to keep the speed up. I passed at the Hautem chapel for a selfie and then rode towards Meldert and Beauvechain. On the higher plains the sun was roasting but the wind - even when blowing straight in my face - brought some relief. Over Hamme Mille and the Naamsesteenweg I closed the loop.

Another sunny day so I rode out early to profit from the mild sun in the morning. Over the Tiensesteenweg until I reached Kumtich where I took a right towards Oorbeek. Straight on towards Meldert along the new bikepath. Further to Beauvechain and Hamme Mille where I took another right turn to finish my ride along the Naamsesteenweg into Blanden. Legs felt fine and the bike was behaving flawlessly. I have been using my Specialized Pro shoes for the last couple of rides and that feels good too

Time for a ride. It had been a while, only 2 short rides in June which were not logged. The rest of my time I spent hiking, a lot. But today I finally found the time for a cycle ride. I set out on the Psychlo-X for a ride along the Tiensesteenweg towards Boutersem. I did not want to overdo it so I took a right towards Vertrijk and Willebringen and came back over Opvelp and Bierbeek. a fine loop which netted met one hour and a half and just under 34K.

A good weather for a late afternoon ride. I took the Moots PsychloX because I planned to do some offroad bits. Also using my Specialized Pro shoes that I bought a couple of years ago but only used a couple of times on Ardennes rides. I set ot over Heverlee and te Park Abbey, riding to Arenberg next and then over Egenhoven back to Oud-Heverlee. Along the E40 to the Arboretum and then back into Blanden for a short but sweet ride in excellent weather.

Today I was participating in the Kom Op Tegen Kanker ride. This is a ride over 1000km, spread over 4 days. You are in a team and either do half a day, a full day, multiple days or the whole 1000K. Me I chose half a day or 125km . Starting for the afternoon leg which took us from Bornem over Berendrecht to Mechelen. The ride went flawless. My training week from last week paid off and the weather was superb with 25 degrees and full sunshine. .

Starting on 13th of May I participate in a road trip from Leuven to Bordeaux, covering around 1100km in 7 days. So it was time to ride a couple of hours on the Vortex to become acquanted again to the bike and also to let my body adapt to hours in the saddle. Up to now I have done one to 2 hour stretches but today I wanted to ride 3 hours. Riding out over the N25 to Hamme Mille and the onwards to Eghezee along the N91. The wind was blowing from the northwest so I moved along with good speed. In Eghezee I took a double left to follow the Ravel 2 towards Jodoigne and Hoegaarden. The wind was now in my disadvantage but the shrubberies alongside the Ravel route kept me hidden from its full force. In Hoegaarden I teamed up with a fellow titanium bike ride and we chatted along the way to Meldert. In Meldert I continued straight on the Beauvechain and then took a left towards Hamme Mille. Arriving home I was very pleased with my ride. The legs had been fine with the extra hour and I managed a good average speed with a low average heartrate.

A good weather for a late afternoon ride. I took the Moots PsychloX because I planned to do some offroad bits. First I set out over Blanden, Haasrode and into Korbeek Lo for a quick visit to St Kamillus. Checking out some Pokemon Gyms and then riding onwards into Heverlee and the Abdij van Park for a further check. Up the Pakenhof and then to the Commonwealth graves. Into Heverlee Forest for a spin to Vaalbeek and the La Foresta. From Vaalbeek I then did a loop over the Zoete Waters , Sint Joris Weert, Nethen and Hamme Mille ro close the ride with a stretch along the Naamsesteenweg into Blanden.

The weather was dry and sunny today but from the outset of my ride I noticed a very stiff breeze blowing from the southeast. So I set out in that direction with the wind in my face. Riding to Tienen where I could turn to the right towards Hoegaarden and then further on to Jodoigne. Here I turned again to the right and the wind turned from foe into friend. Reaching speeds over 50kph I flew in the direction of Hamme Mille and back into Meerdael Forest and Blanden. The ride went well and I managed to keep myself under control during the difficult bits.

Time for a ride outside. The weather is still cold and a nasty wind is blowing from the northwest. But near the evening the sun broke through . I rode out for 5 long laps around the Haasrode Industrie and a sixth 3/4 lap to finish off over Haasrode and Blanden. The legs felt good and I could keep my pace uphill. I tried to apply some power and the legs held.

So this meant riding more than an hour on the rollers. Ride went fine, legs felt good and I coul speed up near the end. Good solid ride notwithstanding the fact that I would have loved to ride outside. Hope the temperature picks up come this friday.
