This morning it was raining heavily so I stayed in bed thinking I would probably not be able to ride today. But around noon the rain stopped and the fierce wind blowing from the south started to dry out the roads pretty quickly. So off I went, for a road ride that would take me in a big loop from Bierbeek to Hoegaarden, then on the Ravel towards Jodoigne, busy road all the way to Pietrebais and then over Cocrou, Archennes and Florival for an extra loop up to Ottenburg and back towards Sint Agatha Rode, Sint Joris Weert and the Zoete Waters. The temperature was nice with 8 degrees C average but the wind made it a hard ride at times. The worse parts were when it was blowing from the side, sometimes even threatening to topple me over when a gust hit me. Near the end of the ride I had to turn on my lights because of the falling of darkness.
