After a lot of rainfall yesterday, today saw again dry weather. So I went out on the Hilset for a relaxing long distance road ride, giving the offroad an extra day to soak up the much-needed water. I went for the 'Haasrode Tour' which led me over Bierbeek, Willebringen, Kumtich, Hoksem, Oorbeek and Hoegaarden and then back over l'Ecluse, Sclimpré, La Bruyere and Hamme Mille. There was no wind and with a temperature of 17 degrees C the weather was just perfect for this type of ride. There were some menacing skies every now and then and I even felt a few drops but there was no more rainfall. The backroads were sometimes overflown with mud from the fields, indicating the heavy rainfall and the loose soil du to the drought.
