Last of the warm days it seems, so I took advantage to ride out once more. I started out along the northern edge of Meerdael forest, going towards the Mollendaalbos. Here I had to take a little detour because one of the broad lanes was closed due to a buzzard warning. The buzzard can attack passing people - mostly walkers and joggers - and it does so to protect its young. No worries, I just took the next parallel trail and arrived in Bierbeek where I entered the fields. I had a plan to connect to L'Ecluse through the fields. From L'Ecluse I then set towards the ferme de Wahenge. Here I connected to the outskirts of Melin and from there I made my way towards Pietrebais.

Lots of sandy field roads, some rutted tracks and occasional cobble roads. The land is in dire need of some rain and maybe tonight and tomorrow we might get some. From Pietrebais I looped over Heze and then dropped down towards Cocrou. Here I crossed over to Gottechain. From there it was just just a few kilometers to connect to Les Claines and enter the Meerdael Forest. I had quite a relaxing ride except for the hard conditions of the trails. The sun was veiled and it was a nice 20 degrees average with a dry northeastern blowing.
