Today saw the start of the winter it seems. All of a sudden temps were around 0 degrees in the morning and a cold fog was hanging over the country thoughout the day. I left without much ambition after getting home from work. My light was well and truly recharged and it pierced through the fog as I rode off for a little tour mostly on quiet roads. Riding after dark with a bike on busy streets is not for the meek. I have to be dressed up with all kinds of reflective material, reflectors on the bike, a blinking red tail light and a very bright headlight. A bit of a riding christmas tree really. Still I am amazed that even now in this colder weather some a$$holes still find it amusing to honk and generally frighten the living daylights out of me by passing a mere couple of centimeters from my shoulder. Sometimes I really would like to meet them at a red light and give them my idea about their behaviour. But it will probably be best for both of us that I never catch up with them. Anyways, I had a fine ride today and traffic was manageble, no a$$holes except for the one that forced me to ride into the grass in order to escape from a head-on collision with his car . Ain't life grand, and hip hip hooray for the X-mas spirit (NOT) .
