This morning my legs felt like a train had run over them. But I wanted to ride the Ronde Van Leuven today so around 10 I was at the Primary School in Blanden to get inscribed, receive an apple and be on my way for a 55K big lap around Leuven...the ride went in clockwise direction this year. So I came through Winksele, Kortrijk-Dutsel, Linden, Lovenjoel and Bierbeek in succession. The weather was Ok, with a strong wind nevertheless that was noticeable in the plains. After I went round the big lap I added the local lap in Blanden for another 20K of beautiful landscapes . This lap was more rural with some passages on field roads and even a big chunk in Meerdael Forest. So it was more suited for mountainbikes than the big lap, which was completely on tarmac. Still, on my Hilset with the big Marathon Supreme tyres I couldn't be bothered with the condition of the trails. These tyres take everything what comes in their stride. At the end of the ride I had nearly 80K on my counters and a nice 500+ heightmeter figure.

Ride Stats : 79K and 440/525 heightmeters in 3h34mins Map :
