It was close to the freezing point this morning and when I set out for a 2 hour offroad ride it was just 1.5 degrees C. Still, the air was crisp and there was no wind. Great weather for some offroad climbing. My nose had been giving me some trouble last night but this morning it felt better. I put on my 1.8 Nobby Nic tyres to have some extra grip on the sticky trails and in some parts of the forest this was a blessing. Forestry guys are still doing their best to destroy the trails whilst cleaning out the forest of unnecessary timber. My Nobby Nics always found some traction, even on the icy bits . I started out in Meerdael forest but made my way towards Pecrot and Nethen for some slopes in the fields and the famous singletrack near the railway track. Here I has a lot of fun, the trail was very tricky with a thick layer of dead leaves covering it, hiding all the nasty roots and gullies from sight. Some lightning-fast reactions were needed but I was wide awake by now so all went well. Had a good workout.
