The weather was uncertain for the Ardennes, possibilities of rain, so I decided to stay home and do a bit of exploring along the Overijse '2 Valleys' BLOSO route. This route basically interconnects the valley of the river Lane to the valley of the river Ijse. A nice route as well, with some tecnical bits and a trail that keeps ondulating up and down, in and out of the valleys of the aformentioned rivers. Obviously, with a little bit of terrain knowledge and a good GPS it is not difficult to construct a more 'manly' version of this track. Adding a couple of loops to take in a couple of extra climbs, singletracks or descents quickly turns this ride into a real challenge. The bike performed well, flawless actually and my legs were good as well. So basically I had a great ride. The sun did come out every now and then but the average temperature was a measly 16 degrees C.
When I returned towards Meerdael forest I added another little loop into this forest, meeting two roedeer along the way. The tracks were dry and dusty and the wind was blowing quite noticeably from the north.
