Another ride outside, this time I opted for the Blue Meerdael Bloso. This is the one with the most climbing in it. Mounted some fenders on my Litespeed because with the rain that has been falling yesterday and tonight I was expecting muddy trail conditions. I was right, although the first bit leading into the Kouterbos and a little bit of Heverleebos was not too bad. I crossed a lot of bikers, either on the Bloso trails or just making their own way in the large forest. When I came towards the Kluis and the drop into Sint Joris Weert, the trail conditions took a turn for the worse. Especially the bit going into Nethen demanded my utmost attention in the downhills - wet and slippery - and some applied muscle in the uphills, which were heavy due to the sucking mud. But I managed them all and once again I was glad being out there . Temps were around 7 degreec C, so not too bad either and even though there was a sustained wind from westerly quarters, most of the time I was sheltered by the forest.
