After seeing the weather take a turn for the worse the last couple of days, with lots of wind yesterday and quite a bit of rain as well, I was surprised to see the sun and thought I might as well ride out. So I took the Vortex and started out over Bierbeek and Opvelp. There was quite a bit of wind blowing from the southwest and I could not avoid a couple of light showers. But it felt good to be riding a bike and with a raincoat and long trousers it wasn't all that bad out there. There were menacing clouds and the temperature was not too bad with an average of 16 degrees. I turned towards Beauvechain and Hamme Mille because it looked a lot clearer in that direction. Entering Nethen I got a second light shower. The streets dried out quickly, one advantage of the strong wind that was blowing. From Nethen I rode to Sint Joris Weert and then decided to do an extra loop over Neerijse and Egenhoven. Through Heverlee and Paken and then up to the Haasrode Industrieterrain. Following the Expressweg into Blanden I was nicely sheltered from the wind.
