It was dry and moderately sunny when I got home from work so I decided to do a little lap with the Vortex. Starting out along Bierbeek and Opvelp and then turning right towards Beauvechain. Here I took another right taking me towards Tourinnes and Hamme Mille. Straight on to Nethen and then over Sint Joris Weert towards the Zoete Waters. Normally my little lap turns right here to close over Vaalbeek and into Blanden.
But it was good out there today, even though there was a nasty wind blowing from the northwest. But the wind only bothered me during the section from Sint Joris Weert to the the Zoete Waters. Riding straight on into Oud-Heverlee I took a beating but I could stay on the big ring and brave it out. Turning right and upwards to Heverlee and the edge of Heverlee Bos. The last stretch along the Naamsesteenweg and the Sapellenbos into Blanden had the wind in my back so I could up the speed again. Coming home I did a couple of local laps to reach the 40K mark. Very pleased with the ride, legs felt good and speed was high.
