Smackdown and ECW rosters to merge?
NoDQ.com > WWE > Smackdown and ECW rosters to merge?
Posted by Bobby Spade on 10/16/2007 at 02:34 PM

    From WWE.com:

    Partnership forming?
    Written: October 16, 2007
WWE.com has learned that several meetings have taken place between Acting SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero and ECW General Manager Armando Estrada that, if ratified, would allow SmackDown and ECW Superstars to compete on Tuesday and Friday nights.

While nothing is signed as of yet, locker room sources say that this open door agreement between Vickie and the cunning Cuban shyster will be discussed tonight, live on ECW on Sci Fi. No further details have been released, and when pressed for more information, Estrada was tight-lipped (a rarity in its own right).

“I have no news for you right now,” said Estrada. “But tonight on ECW on Sci Fi (10/9 CT), I will give some insight into these, come se dice, meetings.”

    Sting denkt aan stoppen

NoDQ.com > TNA > Breaking Report: TNA World Champion Sting Retiring
Posted by Steve Carrier on 10/15/2007 at 06:55 PM

    Source: Wrestling Observer

    - TNA World Champion Sting has been telling people that he will be retiring at the end of this year.

Some people within TNA believe Sting has been using the retirement card as a way to get a raise from the company. Dixie Carter wants to keep Sting around TNA, even though Jeff Jarrett wasn't big on re-signing Sting last year.

Sting has a very nice contract with TNA, as he doesn't have to work the house shows or international dates and still receives premium pay.

Uitslagen bound for glory (Sting new champ)
LAX defeated Triple X in an Ultimate X Match to become the #1 Contenders for the TNA World Tag Team Titles. Really hot crowd tonight in Atlanta to kick off the show. They went back to using the cable ropes for the Ultimate X instead of the "Elevation X" structure. Early on in the match, Homicide got on the cables going for the X, but Senshi brought him down. Homicide took out Senshi later with a suicide dive through the ropes. Hernandez pulled Skipper down when he went for the X on the cables as well. Huge spot saw Skipper stand on top of the steel structure and hit a big cross-body on Hernandez. Another big spot saw Homicide bring Skipper off the cables hitting a big neckbreaker. Senshi with the Warrior's Way on Homicide. Finish saw Hernandez give Skipper a Border Toss over the top rope onto Senshi and then climbed up to get the X and the win.

    - Video is shown of Kurt Angle and Karen Angle arriving at different times. Kevin Nash was also shown arriving to the arena.

    - Back live, Mike Tenay and Don West rundown the card tonight.

    - Backstage, Crystal is with Christian Cage, AJ Styles and Tomko. Cage complains that he isn't the #1 contender for the TNA Title and reminds Samoa Joe that he has never been pinned or submitted in TNA yet. Cage walks off and Styles talks about wrestling in his "backyard" tonight in his hometown of Atlanta. Tomko cuts him off and talks about their tag title shot against Team Pacman later tonight.

    - Eric Young won the "Fight for the Right" Match. We start out with 16 wrestlers with "Reverse Battle Royal" rules where the first eight to get in the ring advance and it turns into a Battle Royal. When the final two remain, we go to pinfall or submission rules to determine a winner. Confused yet? Those who took part included as follows: Jimmy Rave, Lance Hoyt, Shark Boy, Petey Williams, Kaz, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, Kip James, BG James, James Storm, Eric Young, Robert Roode, Chris Harris and Junior Fatu. The first eight to advance were Junior Fatu, Alex Shelley, Kaz, Robert Roode, Eric Young, Lance Hoyt, Chris Sabin and James Storm. Eliminated in the Battle Royal were James Storm, Junior Fatu, Chris Sabin, Kaz, Lance Hoyt and Alex Shelley. We are down to Robert Roode and Eric Young with pinfall or submission rules. Young got the win with a small package on Roode. The announcers reminded the audience that this was just the beginning as the final eight are going to be involved in an elimination tournament on Impact.

    - A highlight package airs regarding Adam "Pacman" Jones.

    - Backstage, Crystal is with Team Pacman. Ron "The Truth" Killings talked about having home field advantage tonight and introduced a new member of Team Pacman - Consequences Creed.

    - Backstage, Kurt Angle and Karen Angle are shown arguing.

    - AJ Styles & Tomko defeated Team Pacman to become the NEW TNA World Tag Team Champions. The new members of Team Pacman, Rasheed Lucius Consequences Creed, replaced Adam "Pacman" Jones in the match tagging with Ron Killings. The match started off early on with Creed and AJ Styles. Pacman intefered "making it rain" on Styles by throwing money at him. Referee Earl Hebner was then distracted picking up the money as Killings had Styles rolled up. Tenay said Hebner was picking up the money like a dancer in a strip club. Probably not the smartest thing to say given the circumstances of those involved. The finish saw Tomko get the pinfall on Killings after a modified double-team corkscrew finisher to capture the TNA tag titles.

    - Backstage, Karen Angle confronts Kevin Nash and tells him to help Kurt tonight. Nash said he wasn't going to talk to Kurt tonight at all. Karen called Kurt "their meal ticket" and said that if Kurt didn't win tonight, then Nash might have to return to the ring on his bad knees.

    - A video package runs highlighting tonight's X Division Title Match between Jay "Black Machismo" Lethal and Christopher Daniels.

    - Jay "Black Machismo" Lethal defeated Christopher Daniels to retain the TNA X Division Title. Really solid match between these guys with the crowd in Atlanta staying really hot and really helping the overall presentation. There were numerous near falls early on in the match. Daniels hit the BME (Best Moonsault Ever) on Lethal early on as well. Lethal missed a flying elbow attempt on Daniels. The finish saw Lethal hit the Lethal Combination on Daniels which consisted of Lethal hitting a backbreaker on Daniels off the top followed by a downward spiral for the pinfall to retain the X Title. Very good match.

    - Backstage, Crystal interviewed The Steiner Brothers.

    - A video package runs highlighting the past events between Team 3D and The Steiner Brothers heading into tonight.

    - The Steiner Brothers defeated Team 3D in a 2 out of 3 Falls Tables Match. The match kicked off with Team 3D and The Steiners brawling into the crowd. After brawling on the outside, the action finally hit the ring to get the match underway. Team 3D went up 1-0 early on putting Rick Steiner through a table with a 3D. The Steiners make it 1-1 when Scott hit a Frankensteiner sending Brother Ray through a table. Brother Ray got a belt and started using it on The Steiners. Team 3D but Scott on a table that Brother Devon setup, but the table broke. That announcers remind us that didn't count. They setup a second table and put Scott on it when Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley ran out to distract Team 3D. Brother Devon took out Brother Ray by accident with a chair shot. The finish saw Devon get bulldogged off the top rope by Rick through the table and The Steiner Brothers win 2-1.

    - Backstage, Jeremy Borash was with the TNA Knockouts taking part in tonights Knockouts Guantlet to determine a first-ever TNA Women's Champion. When The Amazing Kong appeared, she scared everyone off.

    - Gail Kim won the Knockouts Guantlet to become the first-ever TNA Women's Champion. 10 Knockouts were involved in this match. The match kicked off with Ms. Brooks and Jackie Moore. Shelley Martinez (formerly Ariel in WWE/ECW) was out next. Awesome Kong (formerly The Amazing Kong) and ODB were out next. Kong eliminated Martinez, Ms. Brooks and Jackie. Angel Williams and Christy Hemme were out next. Kong took out Hemme with a big powerbomb as Gail Kim entered next. Hemme was taken away by medics after the powerbomb. Kong was double-teamed and eliminated (her top flipped up as she was eliminated exposing herself to a PPV audience). Talia Madison was out next. Angel Williams was then eliminated. Roxxy Laveaux was the final one out. Talia Madison and ODB were eliminated. We were then down to Roxxy and Gail Kim with pinfall or submission rules. There was a major slip at the end of this that you will hear about tomorrow. We've got 8 pics at the link at the very bottom of this post. Kim got the pinfall on Roxxy to become the first-ever TNA Women's Champion.

    - Backstage, Kevin Nash confronts Kurt Angle and tells him he doesn't have his back tonight. Angle makes a joke about Nash's bad knees and calls him washed up. Nash is clearly upset when Angle walks off.

    - A video package runs highlighting the feud between Christian Cage and Samoa Joe.

    - Samoa Joe defeated Christian Cage with Matt Morgan as the Special Guest Enforcer. The Atlanta crowd was hot for this match the entire time. Early on, Joe took out Cage with a suicide dive on the floor. The two brawled on the outside for a bit and Joe sent Cage into the guard railing. Cage and Morgan exchanged words. While this went down, Joe went back in the ring, charged and flipped over the top rope taking out Cage. Back in the ring, Cage attempted The Unprettier, but Joe blocked it. Cage also blocked a Muscle Buster attempt. AJ Styles and Tomko tried to interfere, but Morgan chased both off. Cage with an Unprettier on Joe, covers, but Joe kicks out. The finish saw Joe hit the Muscle Buster on Cage followed by applying the Rear Naked Choke to get the win to end Cage's streak in TNA of not being pinned or submitted. Really solid match with the crowd hot the whole time.

    - Backstage, Kevin Nash was shown speaking with Sting. The goal seems to be to generate lots of sympathy for Nash as he feels he can't perform at "main event" level anymore. Sting asked Nash why he kept backing Angle and Nash said without Angle he had nothing.

    - Abyss won the Monsters Ball Match over Raven, Rhino & Black Reign. Lots of weapons were involved including a golf club, shopping cart and trash can. All four started brawling on the outside near the entrance ramp. Rhino went for The Gore on Abyss, but Abyss dodged it and Rhino crashed through a wall. Raven and Black Reign brawled into the crowd. Big spot saw Raven take out Abyss with an elbow drop off the balcony onto Abyss through a table! The action eventually spilled back into the ring. James Mitchell ran out and handed a bag full of glass and thumbtacks. The finish saw Raven attempt a DDT on Abyss, but Abyss countered into a Black Hole Slam over the glass and thumbtacks to get the pinfall. They showed a shot of an angry James Mitchell looking on as Abyss celebrated his win. Not very long, but was fairly decent and the crowd seemed to enjoy it.

    - A video package runs highlighting the feud between Kurt Angle and Sting heading into tonight's match with the TNA World Title on the line.

TNA Title Match: Sting vs. Kurt Angle. We have the official main event introductions. The bell rings and the two face off, and lock up. Sting backs Angle into the ropes. We break. Rear waist lock on Angle and a break. Top wrist lock by Angle, reversed by Sting into one of his own. Sting works the arm until Angle gets to the rope. We break and lock up again. Angle with a side headlock. Sting whips Angle to the ropes and Angle shoulderblocks him. Sting then arm drags Angle and he falls outside of the ring. Angle kicks Sting in the gut and chops him. Sting climbs Angle in the corner now and pummels him with ten punches. Angle goes to the ropes and Sting tries a dropkick but Angle hangs onto the ropes as he bounces off. Sting leaps and dropkicks nothing but air. Angle gets clotheslined over the top ropes and to the outside now. Sting takes Angle back inside now and he charges Sting in the corner who moves and then he hits a German Suplex on Angle. Both men are down. Angle slams Sting and uppercuts him in the jaw. Angle suplexes Sting and now wraps the legs around the waist of Sting for a submission. Angle then applies a rear chinlock. Sting gets up and double clotheslines with Angle. Sting and Angle exchange punches now in the middle of the ring. Sting clotheslines Angle a few times in a row, but Angle battles back with fury and charges Sting who hits a Spinebuster on Angle. Sting climbs the ropes and Angle charges quickly after him springing to the top and hitting an underhook suplex for a two count. Angle goes for an Olympic Slam and Sting rolls through for a two count. Angle hits a German and hangs on, then hits a second. Then hits a third, and releases.

Karen Angle came out. Kevin Nash came out and clothesline Sting. Olympic slam by Angle, but the referee was on the outside with Karen. Charles came back in, but only a two count. Angle did a flip off the top rope onto Sting, but Stinger kicked out. Ankle lock again by Angle. Sting reversed it, and threw Angle into Nash. Charles is bumped. Sting covers Angle, but no referee. Andrew Thomas came out, but gets pulled out and nailed by Nash. Nash comes into the ring, and helps Angle double team Sting, but Sting recovers until a low blow by Angle. Angle tried to hit Sting with the bat, but Sting blocked it and used it on Angle and Nash. Death drop by Sting and still wins at 18:27 by covering a bloody Angle to win the TNA world title.

NoDQ.com > WWE > Nicolas Cage Getting Into Pro Wrestling?

    Source - PWInsider

Hollywood superstar Nicolas Cage is currently in negotiations to star in an independent drama titled
"The Wrestler." The entertainment trade journal lists the following about the movie:

"The movie tells the story of Randy ''The Ram'' Robinson, a 1980s-era pro wrestler who has become a burnt-out shell of his former self. After he has a heart attack during a small-time match, a doctor tells him he could die if he fights again. He moves in with an aging stripper and takes a job at a deli, but then decides he can't pass up an opportunity to return to the ring and fight his old nemesis, even if it means risking his life."

Undertaker & Kane def. WWE Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy & United States Champion MVP (Non-title)

    Jimmy Wang Yang def. Deuce
Rey Mysterio vs. Finlay (No Contest)

    Results:
    Conflicting interests
    By Lennie DiFino
October 12, 2007DETROIT – Jamie Noble certainly enjoyed the beginning of his Friday night as he sucked up to SmackDown’s Acting General Manager, Vickie Guerrero. Vickie was in good spirits after a phone call from Kristal had informed her that GM Theodore Long – who suffered a massive heart attack during his wedding ceremony last month – was getting stronger and could even return home by next week. But when Noble mistakenly compared the way she assumed Long’s responsibilities to the trick he played earlier on fellow cruiserweight Jimmy Wang Yang, Vickie decided to put an end to the self-proclaimed elite opportunist’s fun – by placing him in a match with The Great Khali. Coming off a monumental loss to Batista in the Punjabi Prison Match, the 7-foot-3 Punjabi Goliath showed his much smaller opponent no mercy whatsoever, dominating Noble before applying the vicious Khali Vise Grip for the victory.

    Road bump
Chuck Palumbo has managed to remain undefeated since returning to SmackDown, and the revved-up Superstar kept his streak intact Friday with a huge victory over Chris Masters. Never one to be outdone, though, "The Masterpiece" jumped the motorcycle enthusiast before he and Michelle McCool could ride off into the sunset, then trapped Palumbo his signature Master Lock. Try as he could, the powerful Palumbo could not free himself, instead becoming victim to Masters’ unbreakable hold for the second consecutive week. Watch Palumbo in the clutches of the Master Lock...

    Faces of change
SmackDown’s newest tag team, Jesse & Festus, took part in more exciting tandem action Friday night after making their wildly successful debut last week. Jesse told our fans in the Joe Louis Arena that whenever Festus hears the bell, he transforms from his “normal, effervescent self” to a fierce tiger. It seemed young Jesse was right, because once the match started, Festus…well, that was a man who was all business, powering the duo to another impressive SmackDown win.

    Fruit-ful confrontation
After Jamie Noble told Deuce & Domino that Jimmy Wang Yang allegedly had some not-so-nice things to say about Cherry, the two men from the Other Side of the Tracks became incensed. Cherry’s boyfriend Deuce confronted SmackDown’s resident redneck in the ring, but when Yang picked up the victory, Domino attacked immediately after the match. Unable to fight back, Yang was subjected to a humiliating series of slaps across the face from the usually neutral Cherry. Injury was then added to insult when he felt the brutality of a decapitating Crack 'em in da Mouth from the bomber-clad duo.

    Scottish invasion
Friday Night SmackDown introduced our fans to its newest Superstar, Drew McIntyre, who faced Brett Major in his first match on The CW Network. Accompanied to the ring by Dave Taylor, McIntyre declared he is looking for dual citizenship and implored our fans to cheer for him with chants of “U-S-A.” McIntyre’s ring debut was a successful one, as a little outside distraction from Taylor enabled him to pick up a rollup win over Major. Our fans, however, weren’t so quick to comply with the Scotsman’s wishes. Watch McIntyre's debut match...

    Blood is thicker than bling
WWE Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy & MVP shook hands and agreed to get on the same page before they stepped into the ring with the Brothers of Destruction, Undertaker & Kane. But once they faced the fires of hell in their non-title match, both Hardy and MVP had very different ideas about what being on the same page meant. Read the full story...

    Hard-fighting, high-flying
Rey Mysterio and Finlay’s bitter rivalry continued on SmackDown last Friday when the two Superstars squared off in a No. 1 Contender’s Match. The prize? An opportunity to challenge Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship at Cyber Sunday. The result? Nothing that either Superstar, or The Animal himself, was expecting. Read the full story…

NEWS AND VIDEO FROM THURSDAY’S “IMPACT!” BROADCAST ON SPIKE TV
The final countdown to Sunday's Bound For Glory PPV event
    By Bill Banks

There are several news items to report from Thursday’s two-hour broadcast on SpikeTV:

Don’t forget: Tune in to SpikeTV this Saturday night at 11pm for the “Road To Bound For Glory” special, highlighting all the bouts you will see this Sunday on Pay-Per-View! If you missed “iMPACT!”, you can catch the replay immediately following the “Road To” special!

    - X Division Champion “Black Machismo” Jay Lethal defeated Havok on the broadcast. During the bout, “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels watched on to prepare his title shot against Lethal this Sunday on Pay-Per-View.

    - Kurt Angle explained why he stalked Sting’s son in California, claiming he wanted to get under Sting’s skin so he gets the best out of him this Sunday at Bound For Glory. Clearly, Karen Angle wasn’t happy with what her husband did. Sting promised he would get his revenge on Angle – but on his terms. At the end of the broadcast, Sting disguised himself as a member of the LAX’s Latino Nation and brutally attacked Angle!

    - TNA World Tag Team Champions Team Pacman defeated Triple X after Pacman Jones “made it rain” to distract his opponents. Team Pacman face AJ Styles and Tomko for the gold this Sunday night.

    - TNA newcomer Amazing Kong upset Gail Kim in her first TNA match while the other female combatants of the TNA women’s division watched on. Kong will compete in the gauntlet battle royal this Sunday to crown the first women’s champion.

    - Christian Cage debuted his new talk-show segment, with his first guest being his Bound For Glory opponent, Samoa Joe. It eventually broke down into a brawl between both sides, with Matt Morgan coming out to neutralize AJ Styles while Cage took the opportunity to blindside Joe.

    - In a preview of Sunday’s Monster’s Ball match, the team of Raven and Black Reign defeated Rhino and Abyss.

    - In the main event, it was Kurt Angle and Team 3D defeating The Latin American Xchange and Junio Fatu when Angle beat Homicide with the Olympic Slam. Homicide was favoring his ankle during and after the match as a result of being place in Angle’s Ankle Lock submission.

    Uitslagen ECW 9 oktober
Klik op de afbeelding om de link te volgen
    • Big Daddy V def. Tommy Dreamer
    • Kevin Thorn def. James Curtis
    • The Miz def. Balls Mahoney
    • John Morrison def. ECW Champion CM Punk (non-title match)

    Results:Strange days return to ECW
    By Andrew Rote
    October 9, 2007

DETROIT – Things seemed like they couldn’t get much more painful for ECW Champion CM Punk, still recovering from a massive Big Daddy V beatdown at No Mercy. But it looks like they just have gone from bad to worse.

General Manager Armando Estrada already has begun to look ahead to Cyber Sunday, and his search for an opponent worthy of a title opportunity quickly became interesting when former ECW Champion John Morrison defeated Punk in Tuesday night’s main event. Considering Morrison’s success as champion and his storied rivalry with the current champion, CM Punk should be nervous about more than Big Daddy V. (WATCH) More on this story…

As for the scale-tipping behemoth, Matt Striker’s favorite student kicked off ECW on Sci Fi with a crushing victory over Tommy Dreamer. After announcing he would show no mercy to the ECW Original just as he showed none for CM Punk on Sunday, Big Daddy V did precisely that. Perhaps his outing was enough to impress Estrada and earn another championship match at Cyber Sunday. (WATCH)

Also on ECW on Sci Fi, Balls Mahoney and Kelly Kelly saw each other for the first time since last week’s revelation concerning The Miz’s power over her career. Still in disbelief over the blonde’s feelings for Mahoney, the self-proclaimed “chick magnet” promised he would show Kelly what a real man is like. Moments later, The Miz stood victorious over the ECW Original after he was counted out, but The Miz left the ring without his third escort. Kelly stayed behind to tend to Balls, who returned her teddy bear to its rightful owner before the match began. Of course, it didn't stay in her possession for long as The Miz booted it into the air.

While The Miz may have caught Estrada’s eye, in other action, Kevin Thorn defeated James Curtis in the victim’s ECW on Sci Fi debut.

All who roam the Land of the Extreme have been putting forth maximum effort in hopes of convincing Estrada that they are deserving of the ECW Title Match at Cyber Sunday. While he will announce his choices for Punk’s opponent Wednesday at noon ET, it will ultimately be up to you – our fans – to decide which Superstar makes the cut. Be sure to visit WWE.com Wednesday at noon to cast your vote, and possibly decide the fate of the ECW Championship.

Midway Games will be holding a major media launch this weekend at TNA’s Bound for Glory PPV in anticipation for the new “TNA Impact: The Video Game” . This will be the first professional wrestling video game outside of WWE associated with a major wrestling promotion since WCW shutdown in 2001. The game will be released for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Playstation 2 all in May.

TNA stars Samoa Joe and AJ Styles have spent a good amount of time with Midway producers, fine tuning all of the details in the game. Here is what has been confirmed for the game:

    - The Impact video game will feature 20 TNA performers that are all customizable within the game. Top names on the game include Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Sting, Christian Cage, Jeff Jarrett, Rhino, Abyss, and AJ Styles.

    - Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Sting, and Jeff Jarrett will be featured on the cover of the game.

    - The Six-Sided ring will be included in the game and will feature the TNA specialty matches The Ultimate X, The King of The Mountain, and tag team matches and Fatal Four Ways. Midway is teasing that the game will feature “Online Tournaments”.

    - A story mode will be included into the game that is said to be similar to WWE video games. Story mode will allow players to create and choose a career path based on decisions that they take during the storyline. Gamers will be able to choose the look of their character as well as their managers who will specialize in different fighting styles.

    - Mini games will be included in the game as they will be played to help enhance a character’s appearance and abilities as well as unlock hidden features in the game.

    - There will also be a Create A Wrestler mode where you will be able to create your very own performer

    Results:Acting the fool

    By Greg Adkins
    October 8, 2007

GRAND RAPIDS, MI. - In the Van Andel Arena near the banks of the Grand River, Santino Marella continued to wade deeper and deeper into troubled waters. The Italian Stallion once again leveled an acerbic assessment of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s acting in the action movie The Condemned, which was recently released on DVD.

The former Intercontinental Champion even crooned a bitter tune penned especially for the former WWE Champion, to the harmony of Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab”:

“Try to make me watch The Condemned,
    I say No, No, No.
    It’s a sad fact,
    Stone Cold can’t act.
    He should Go, Go, Go.”

It’s a mystery why the obstinate Marella keeps poking his fingers inside the Texas Rattlesnake’s cage and flipping him the bird. But as anybody who’s ever possessed the poor sense to antagonize Austin knows, it’s only a matter of time before the rattlesnake draws blood.

And who could blame him for biting back? Here is a list of Marella’s greatest hits regarding the six-time WWE Champion:

“[Stone Cold Steve Austin], when it comes to your acting, the fact of the matter is, we are all condemned.”

“Don’t worry, ‘Stone Cold,’ I’m sure there is a job for you somewhere in some dinner theatre, or you can play Mr. Belding if Saved by the Bell ever does a movie. But just leave the acting to professionals.”

“If ‘Stone Cold’ has something he’d like to tell me, he can come here and tell me himself. In fact, he can tell me on the street, in the grocery store or he can come here to Raw, and he can tell me himself.”

Santino, Santino, Santino. Marella’s inflammatory words will no doubt result in a painful finale for the Italian.

    In other developments on Raw:

    Glamazon Era interrupted

Beth Phoenix made her Raw debut as the newly-crowned Women’s Champion after she captured the title from Candice Michelle at No Mercy. After promising to usher in the “Era of the Glamazon” at No Mercy, Phoenix’s plans to steamroll over all opponents hit a speed bump. The Glamazon teamed up with Melina and Jillian Hall to tackle Mickie James, Maria and the former Women’s Champion, Candice. Once the bell sounded, Candice proved that while she may have lost her title, she hasn’t lost her pride. As Phoenix had her powerful hands full with Mickie James outside the ring, the Candy-coated Diva pinned Hall for the victory.

    In a Snit

After last week’s jealousy-fueled cheap shot by Santino Marella, Val Venis could not wait to shut the Italian’s pizza-pie hole. But rather than face Venis in the ring, Marella arranged for the former adult-film star to face off against Snitsky, a Superstar who’s been lurking around the Raw locker room for weeks, itching to get his meaty paws on an opponent, any opponent. The colossus channeled his considerable rage at the X-rated Superstar, punishing Venis for having the audacity to defend himself. The money shot came when Snitsky pump-handled slammed Venis and covered for the three-count.

    Kill or be Kilt

The Highlanders are so eager for an opportunity at the World Tag Team Championships, the cousins McAllister were looking for a short cut. But Paul London & Brian Kendrick were determined to head Rory and Robbie off at the pass. The high-flyers faced off against the Highlanders in a bout to determine which team would move one step closer to a title match with reigning Champions Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch. The Highlanders, who had mercilessly attacked London & Kendrick two weeks earlier, overpowered the smaller duo for the win.

    Game Over

Triple H is no ordinary man. He’s more like a machine, fueled by pride, determination and gallons of rebellion. But even a machine has limits. After competing in three WWE Championship matches the night before at No Mercy—beating Randy Orton and Umaga before falling victim to Orton in the third and final bout—The Game was forced to face off against both Umaga and Orton in a Handicap Match. Arranged by a vengeful Mr. McMahon, the combined forces of a Legend Killer and a Samoan Bulldozer proved too much for the Game and his injured ribs to overcome. Even after Orton left the ring, Umaga stayed behind to further punish a beaten down Triple H. The Samoan Bulldozer’s relentless attack ensured that bad blood will continue to flow between he and the Game.

    Hardy Takes Off

Two of the brightest Superstars in all of WWE faced off when Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy and Mr. Kennedy battled in a non-title match. Hardy managed to eke out a victory over Kennedy during a brief moment of overconfidence by the Green Bay, Wis. native in a physical, hotly-contested war. Perhaps the “Rainbow-haired Warrior” moved himself up the ladder of contention for the WWE Championship.

DAYTON, Ohio – Motorcycle enthusiast Chuck Palumbo is usually the one building a masterpiece in his garage; on Friday Night SmackDown, however, “The Masterpiece” took apart the powerful Californian.

Moments after Palumbo stayed undefeated with an impressive Full Throttle win over Ace Steele, Chris Masters came from out of nowhere and blindsided Chuck. The extra-powerful “Masterpiece” then applied his dreaded Master Lock, a hold that has only ever been broken once. Palumbo tried to fight his way out of Masters’ strong grip, but just like 99.9 percent of Masters’ other victims, he eventually found himself down and out on the mat, thanks to “The Masterpiece’s” punishing full nelson. Once the damage was done, Masters repeatedly yelled, “you shouldn’t have messed with me Chuck, because that’s what happens!”

It was the first time since his arrival on SmackDown that Palumbo has found himself in this position, and there’s no telling what will happen if and when these two powerhouses from southern California next hook up inside the ring. Watch “The Masterpiece” attack Palumbo…

    Down-home debut

After weeks of introductions to our fans, Jesse & Festus finally made their long-awaited SmackDown in-ring debut in Dayton. Just as Jesse promised, Festus was all business inside the squared circle; the seemingly placid and harmless country boy went from bumpkin to wrecking ball once the bell rang, finishing off the team Mike Tolar & Chad Collyer by nailing Collyer with an impressive looking drop-slam. Once the bell rang again, though, Festus returned to his seemingly hypnotic state as Jesse praised his efforts. Watch Jesse & Festus’ victorious debut…

    A Noble roll

Jamie Noble also continued his winning ways, defeating Jimmy Wang Yang in an exciting cruiserweight battle. Both men battled back and forth, but Noble was able to catch the high-flying redneck in his signature gutbuster for the pinfall. Noble is now 2-for-2 since Acting SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero made Hornswoggle abdicate the Cruiserweight Championship two weeks ago, and his latest victory may put him in the driver’s seat on the road to crowning a new champion.

    Big Red Beatdown

Kane was also on the winning track this week, dominating the self-proclaimed “Future Hall of Famer” Kenny Dykstra. Even the presence of his girlfriend, Victoria, outside the ring couldn’t help poor Dykstra, whose recent hard luck continued when he succumbed to a vicious chokeslam.

Moments after the match ended, our fans saw Vickie Guerrero make a blockbuster tag team match for next week, pitting MVP & Matt Hardy against Kane & Undertaker. See what Undertaker & Kane had to say in a WWE Mobile on AT&T Exclusive…

    Long road to recovery

Our fans finally heard some good news on the condition of General Manager Theodore Long this week. While talking to the mystery woman who attacked Torrie Wilson last week, Acting GM Vickie Guerrero revealed that Long is finally out of his coma. However, he’s still in no condition to return to work, so Vickie will remain in charge of SmackDown for the foreseeable future. Surely, however, Vickie joins our fans and everyone in WWE in sending their best wishes to Long for a quick and full recovery.

    David vs. Goliath

Just 48 hours before he faces Finlay at No Mercy, Rey Mysterio faced the biggest challenge of his career – literally – by taking on The Great Khali in SmackDown’s main event. The overmatched Mysterio – who gave up 21 inches and over 250 pounds to the Punjabi giant – gave it his all against Khali, and looked to be in the driver’s seat until Finlay interfered, causing a disqualification. Finlay & Khali’s 2-on-1 attack was cut short however, as the giant’s No Mercy opponent, Batista, ran to the ring to help Mysterio. The Animal said earlier in the night that he couldn’t wait for the Punjabi Prison Match, and may have helped himself gain the upper hand by nailing Khali with a chair. Read the full story…

    The Captain makes it happen

Matt Hardy & MVP may not be able to get along too well, but they’ve been impressive as WWE Tag Team Champions. The two continued bickering after MVP cheated to defeat Matt in a push-up contest, but somehow, SmackDown’s “Odd Couple” held it together to once again retain the gold by defeating Deuce & Domino. Of course, it wasn’t without a signature shortcut from MVP, whose low blow on Domino allowed Hardy to nail the Twist of Fate for the win. Next week, these two will have to step up their game even more, as when MVP tried to get Hardy vs. Undertaker made, he instead got his team a match next week against The Phenom and his brother, Kane. NEWS AND VIDEO FROM THURSDAY’S “IMPACT!” BROADCAST ON SPIKE TV
    By Bill Banks

There are several news items to report from Thursday’s two-hour premiere on SpikeTV:

    - On the two-hour premiere, Kurt Angle enraged Sting when the Olympic gold medalist attended a football game in California that the icon’s son was playing in! According to Angle, he was playing mind games with Sting in preparation for their World Title Match at Bound For Glory. Angle tormented Sting all night and finally confronted his son at the end of the game – leading to a physical altercation between Angle and Sting’s son. With Sting watching on in horror, Angle knocked the camera down so the world couldn’t see what happened!

    - Team 3D was once again on the warpath on Thursday night, as they attempted to injure “The Guru” Sonjay Dutt’s neck like they did to Scott Steiner and Shark Boy. Team 3D said that if their bout that night against Team Pacman wasn’t made a title match, the brutality would continue. Team 3D got their wish, but they were disqualified against Team Pacman when the Voodoo Kin Mafia interfered. Following the bout, the Steiner Brothers made their way out to confront Team 3D.

    - During a backstage interview with Raven, the maniacal star put out a challenge for Abyss and Rhino to face him at Bound For Glory. In turn, Abyss came in and had a challenge of his own – Monster’s Ball at Bound For Glory with Abyss vs. Raven vs. Black Reign vs. Rhino!

    - A sitdown interview aired with Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks where Roode discussed the ongoing situation involving Brooks and Kaz. Following the interview, TNA Knockout Leticia Cline appeared and got into it with Crystal Louthan, whom Leticia claimed was trying to steal her spotlight in TNA.

    - In a bout to preview the upcoming Gauntlet Match at Bound For Glory to crown the first TNA Women’s Champion, Gail Kim defeated Jackie Moore. After the bout, Christy Hemme and Roxxi Laveaux got involved and tried to join Jackie in a beat down of Gail!

    - In a Gauntlet match to preview the “Fight For The Right” match at Bound For Glory, Eric Young was victorious after beating “Cowboy” James Storm for the win.

    - In the main event of the night, the team of Samoa Joe, The Latin American Xchange and Junior Fatu defeated Christian Cage, AJ Styles and Triple X when Joe beat Senshi with the Muscle Buster!

    Big results
    By Andrew Rote
October 2, 2007DAYTON, Ohio – First, it seemed Tommy Dreamer had locked away the opportunity after beating Elijah Burke in the Elimination Chase to No Mercy. But after General Manager Armando Estrada worked his magic and added an unexpected round to the competition, Big Daddy V emerged as the challenger to the Straightedge Superstar’s gold. (WATCH) More on this story…
Earlier in the night, CM Punk announced that while he was concerned with Burke and Dreamer’s contest to face him, he had a very big problem to deal with in Big Daddy V. He sent the behemoth a message, admitting he and Striker had gotten the champion’s attention, and then went on to defeat Mike Knox. By the end of the evening, that big problem became a big reality. More…
Speaking of titles, Mr. McMahon announced Tuesday night that the WWE Championship is now vacant. History will be made at No Mercy, however, as the situation is rectified. (WATCH)
Also on ECW on Sci Fi, Balls Mahoney finally got the answer he’s been waiting for. He just might not have liked it. After two weeks of being pulled away from the ECW Original, Kelly Kelly told Balls she would go out with him. Unfortunately, The Miz quickly came to her side and, despite Mahoney physically getting the better of The Miz, the self-proclaimed chick magnet revealed his ability to terminate Kelly from ECW. (WATCH) More on this story…
Don’t miss how ECW Champion CM Punk resolves his big problem at No Mercy on Sunday at 8/7 CT only on pay-per-view, and find out what else ensues in the world of extreme things on ECW on Sci Fi, Tuesday at 10/9 CT.

Komt HBK nog wel terug ?
NoDQ.com > WWE > Huge update on HBK's future with WWE
Posted by Bobby Spade on 10/02/2007 at 02:58 PM

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Shawn Michaels has been telling Triple H that he is on the fence about returning and really doesn't know how much wrestling he wants to do. He said his family is his top priority, his knees are in bad shape, and is devoting more of his time to religion, which is his passion right now.

Triple H has been trying to convince Michaels to return to television, even though he isn't ready to wrestle, due to a lack of depth on the roster. HBK hasn't opted for it.

It appears a key issue in the possible return of Shawn Michaels to WWE will be if he can secure a reduced travel schedule.
