Michelle was scheduled to face Melina at the WWE live event last night in Bethlehem, PA but Katie Lea ended up taking her place.

But the high-flyer prevailed, crushing The Friday Night Delight with a Twist of Fate followed up with a Swanton Bomb.
CM Punk attacks Hardy As Hardy basked in the glow of his first successful title defense, CM Punk came to the ring to apparently congratulate Hardy by raising his arm in victory. But then, in an ugly display of poor sportsmanship, The Straightedge Superstar viciously assaulted Hardy amidst a chorus of boos from the WWE Universe. The crazed ex-champion reigned down blow upon blow on Hardy, leaving him battered and beaten on the arena floor. Then, just when it appeared Punk was done, he attacked Hardy again, tossing his helpless body across the announce table and onto the arena floor.

There is a feeling among friends of Paul Heyman that he would accept a position with TNA if he had power beyond just writing the shows. Heyman apparently feels TNA needs an overhaul both on the talent side and in the office but doesnt believe Dixie Carter would give him so much power, so he isnt taking the idea of working for TNA seriously. Likewise, Carter hasnt reached out to Heyman regarding a creative position yet despite recommendations.
Heyman does have detractors within TNA, primarily those who fear they would lose power or even their jobs if Heyman was brought in and given the power he wants. Meanwhile, others simply dont have confidence in his abilities anymore.
Heymans name has come up within TNA before, and there are many stories of people badmouthing him to Dixie Carter. While most of the locker room seems open to the idea, theres bad blood between Heyman and Team 3D and some other former ECW stars who have shared stories about mismanagement in ECW.
On the other side of the coin, Heyman has had good relationships with Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley, Shawn Daivari, and Ken Mr. Kennedy Anderson who is expected to sign with TNA eventually. Hes also had a good rapport over the years with TNA head of talent relations Terry Taylor, whose stock within the company seems to be rising.
Nevertheless, it might be a difficult sell to Carter, who has been hearing bad stories about Heyman for years. Plus, there are already some within the company who feel that Heyman publicly saying he would never work for TNA was a snub and the primary reason why Carter shouldnt consider bringing him in.
The latest victim of WWE's dreaded "future endeavors" announcement was The Brian Kendrick, and a PWInsider.com report sheds the first bit of light on the matter.
According to the report, Kendrick's release can largely be attributed to his backstage attitude and motivation as a performer. The internal feeling was that while Kendrick did what he was told, he carried a negative attitude and gave the impression that he did not deeply care about being there. WWE thus saw little potential for Kendrick to breakout as a valuable member of the roster and opted to sever its ties with the wrestler.
It remains to be seen if Kendrick's release is a compounded consequence of his behavior or if a specific incident brought WWE officials' concerns to a boil.
Sources are also quick to mention reports that Kendrick was one of WWE's most frequently-fined Superstars for marijuana use, although it is unclear if that played any role in his release--under the Wellness Policy, there is no punishment, beyond the fine, for using the drug.

It is being said that Jeff Hardy's likely departure, as well as the injuries of Edge/Matt Hardy, have really put a lot of stress of Vince McMahon. The word is that people in the company are aware of the main event depth issues and there are people unhappy with how guys like Jack Swagger and MVP are already being pushed down to a mid-card level with no signs of being able to move up. McMahon is said to be more aware now about issues talked about for years such as the top stars are getting older and the developmental program needing work. Apparently, McMahon is unhappy with WWE's current product despite the fact that business is still doing well despite the economy.
WWE Champion Randy Orton def. Primo William Regal def. Yoshi Tatsu John Morrison def. Tyson Kidd
On WGN America this Thursday night, WWE Champion Randy Orton made his WWE Superstars debut in a match against Primo. Also, John Morrison fought Tyson Kidd just one day before facing Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight Title, while William Regal sought retribution for his loss to Yoshi Tatsu last week on ECW.

WWE Champion Randy Orton def. Primo (PHOTOS | WATCH) Only four days after pinning John Cena to retain his title and three days after finding out hell have to defend it against the former champion again at SummerSlam, The Legend Killer debuted on WWE Superstars and made an example of Primo. As he said prior to the match, Orton intended on dissecting the second-generation Superstar in the ring and did just that, leaving Cena with much to think about. It wasnt a one-sided match by any means as Primo surprised The Viper with his quick offense, but once Orton had his sights set on the athletic, young Superstar, it was only a matter of time before he hit the RKO. Once The Legend Killer struck, he hooked Primos leg for the 1-2-3 and headed to the locker room knowing that if Cena was watching, then his message was delivered loud and clear.
William Regal def. Yoshi Tatsu (PHOTOS | WATCH) An in-ring veteran like the Englishman will never be happy with a loss, especially when it comes after facing Yoshi Tatsu. This week on WWE Superstars, Regal achieved redemption by defeating the young Japanese Superstar. Tatsu has quickly proven himself to be a formidable opponent in the ring as the Blackpool, England, native found out. However, Regal was much more pleased with the result of this weeks match because, while Yoshi was bent over favoring his leg, the Englishman devastated him with a vicious knee to his head leading to the pinfall.
John Morrison def. Tyson Kidd (PHOTOS | WATCH) Just one night before he would fight for World Heavyweight gold, The Friday Night Delight had his hands full with The Hart Dynasty and overcoming the faction by pinning Tyson Kidd. At times, it looked a little like David Hart Smith & Natalyas presence at ringside might play into the outcome of the match, but after they both shielded Kidd from Morrison on the outside, the referee had no choice but to send them packing back to the locker room. In the end, despite a hard-fought brawl from his opponent, The Shaman of Sexy tasted victory by nailing the Starship Pain on Kidd.
TNA president Dixie Carter did not reveal her immediate plans at the TV tapings last week, but backstage rumors are swirling of her possibly buying out Jeff Jarrett and making creative changes.
The office was apparently in disarray last week, as some office workers werent sure who to speak with regarding things they would normally have gone to Jarrett about. Carter has apparently spoken to some of the top wrestlers personally regarding the situation, but aside from them, the only people in the know are her inner-circle. There likely wont be any official announcement on her decision for a while.
Dixie has seized complete control of the company and she will be going over the Jarrett allies (closely), said one TNA source. If anyone in her inner circle has something bad to say about those people, they could be gone.
While Carter has technically been in control of the company since she purchased a majority share, she hasnt really asserted her power and allowed Jarrett to run the wrestling end of the operation. She has a reputation of avoiding confrontation, but the feeling is that shes stepping up at a crucial time that will define the company going forward.
World WrestlingEntertainment has come to terms on the release of Raw Superstar Brian Kendrick as of today, July 30, 2009. WWE wishes Brian the best in all future endeavors.
According to sources, former WWE star Elijah Burke has signed with TNA Wrestling and will be debuting in the company soon with a new ring name.
Burke had a tryout match with TNA back in late May in a match with former WWE developmental wrestler Shawn Spears who spent time briefly on the Smackdown brand.
Both got rave reviews by TNA officials following their match. Jeremy Borash also hinted recently on his official Twitter page that "Elijah Burke" would not be coming to TNA, seeming to suggest that he would be coming in under a new name. Burke was released by WWE in October 2008 and has recently spent time in Ohio Valley Wrestling (a former developmental territory for WWE) where he got his start.
Tyler Reks def. Paul Burchill Vladimir Kozlov def. local competitor Sheamus def. Goldust ECW Champion Christian def. Zack Ryder in a non-title match
BALTIMORE At Sundays Night of Champions, Christian defeated Tommy Dreamer to reclaim the ECW Title. Tonight, the two Superstars meet face to face for the first time since that night. Will the old friends shake hands or throw fists? And when will Dreamer enact his rematch clause? These questions and more are answered on tonights ECW on SyFy.
Tyler Reks def. Paul Burchill (w/ Katie Lea Burchill) (PHOTOS) On last Tuesdays ECW on Syfy, Paul Burchill attacked newcomer Tyler Reks after the California native defeated him fairly in the ring. This underhanded assault was clearly still on Reks mind as he walked down the aisle for his rematch with The Ripper. Displaying an aggressive side that we have yet to see from the young competitor, Reks took Burchill from pillar to post and made him pay for his classless act. With another decisive victory over the Englishman, Reks has shown the WWE Universe that hes not just some laidback surfer dude hes an intense Superstar worth watching.
Vladimir Kozlov def. local competitor (PHOTOS | WATCH) Tonights local competitor shouldve known better than to step in the ring with Vladimir Kozlov. The 6-foot-8, 302-pound Soviet Cyborg made short work of his outmatched opponent, plowing through him with the intensity and power of a Russian tank. Unfortunately, Kozlovs hapless opponents terrible night didnt end there. After Kozlov pinned the man, the monstrous Ezekiel Jackson stormed into the ring and began beating on the fallen competitor the same thing Kozlov did after Jacksons match last Tuesday. Clearly, these two runaway trains are on a very dangerous collision course.
Sheamus def. Goldust (PHOTOS) The explosive Irishman named Sheamus continued his winning ways with an impressive victory over Goldust. While the peculiar veteran utilized his unorthodox offense to challenge the newcomer, the self-proclaimed Celtic Warriors scary strength and unmatched aggression were simply too much for The Bizarre One to handle. With a streak of impressive wins, the pale brute is quickly making a serious impact in ECW.
ECW Champion Christian addresses the WWE Universe (PHOTOS | WATCH) Days after defeating Tommy Dreamer for the ECW Championship at Night of Champions, Christian returned to the Land of Extreme with the gold over his shoulder and a smile on his face. But while Captain Charisma spoke about the importance of his victory, he was interrupted by Tommy Dreamer. The ECW Original informed Christian that he wanted his rematch next Tuesday and the contest would be an Extreme Rules Match.
ECW Champion Christian def. Zack Ryder in a non-title match (PHOTOS | WATCH) Immediately after he was informed that he will be defending his newly won ECW Championship against Tommy Dreamer next Tuesday, Christian had to step in the ring with rising star Zack Ryder. Still, Captain Charisma was able to keep his mind on the aggressive Long Island native. Ryder displayed his trademark viciousness and put up an amazing fight, but the ECW Champion outmaneuvered him and scored the victory with a Killswitch. Will Dreamer be able to avoid the same fate next Tuesday?
- It's believed that Maryse has already had successful surgery on her injury this week but there is no official word yet. Maryse noted on her Twitter earlier this week that she has an online boutique opening soon.
- TNA star Shark Boy, who hasn't appeared on TV in a while, will be returning to action next month according to his website. He's scheduled to appear at TNA live events from August 8th to the 10th and the iMPACT tapings beginning August 17th.
The word going around is that Maryse will meet with Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama where she will have her knee examined. Apparently Maryse has been dealing with problems with her knee and the thinking is she could be dealing with a serious injury. This could explain her lackluster match with Mickie James at last night's WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view.

Jack Swagger ("Beat the Clock" Match) John Cena def. The Miz ("Beat the Clock" Match) Cryme Tyme def. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show (disqualification)
WASHINGTON, D.C. Shaquille ONeal knows how to make an impact and not just because hes a 7-foot, 325-pound Goliath. When the NBA icon accepted the honor of being Raws celebrity guest host, he stunned the packed Verizon Center by announcing that his first order of business would be to stage a series of Beat the Clock Matches to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship.
Cryme Tyme def. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show by disqualification; Shaq shoved Big Show (PHOTOS | WATCH) In light of his confrontation with Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show at the top of the program, Raws special guest host Shaq handled himself like a professional as special outside enforcer while Jericho & Show battled Cryme Tyme. Even as Show administered back breaking moves and pointed to Shaq, the NBA great kept his cool.
When the match ended, however, thanks to Show relentlessly bludgeoning them and refusing to let up, thats when Shaq made his move. He challenged his equally colossal tormentor and shoved him outside of the ring. As the Verizon Center erupted in cheers, Shad & JTG joined Shaq to celebrate.
John Cena def. The Miz; Cena to face WWE Champion Orton at SummerSlam (PHOTOS | WATCH) Before his match against John Cena, The Miz did what he does best: Talk smack. The cocky Superstar assured the audience that he would prevent Cena from advancing to SummerSlam as the No. 1 contender for the WWE Title. Once the bell rang, however, it was time to back up his words with action thats when things unraveled. Miz failed to endure Cenas STF and instead chose to tap out. After the match, WWE Champion Randy Orton stepped into the ring and stared down the man who longs to take away his title at SummerSlam in four weeks.
Evan Bourne def. Jack Swagger (PHOTOS | WATCH) It wasnt supposed to happen this way, at least not in Jack Swaggers mind. The All-American American thought he would make quick work of high-flying Evan Bourne, beat the clock and become the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship. Bourne, however, had other ideas. As quickly as Swagger would apply a maneuver, Bourne was able to kick out of it until the smaller Superstar found a spot and seized upon it, pinning Swagger for the win and robbing him of his chance at a title opportunity.

At Night of Champions, just as it appeared either The Game or John Cena would emerge victorious, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase attacked, allowing Randy Orton to retain the WWE Title. Twenty-four hours later, as Triple H prepared for his "Beat the Clock" Match against Rhodes, DiBiase attacked with a surprise crack to the back of The Game's leg.
Despite that, when Triple H faced Rhodes in the ring, he nearly beat Henrys time, but DiBiase interfered, at which point time expired and so did Triple Hs chances at facing Orton at SummerSlam. Later in the night, The Game issued a challenge to Rhodes & DiBiase to face him in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match next week on Raw.

The Brian Kendrick (PHOTOS) After proving his mettle in a Six Pack Challenge at Night of Champions, United States Champion Kofi Kingston continued his winning ways. Now, Shaquille ONeal can add one more flourish to his résumé: Raw celebrity guest host. The massive center for the Cleveland Cavaliers addressed the WWE Universe and announced that he had arranged five Beat the Clock Matches to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Whichever Superstar won in the least amount of time Triple H, MVP, Jack Swagger, Mark Henry or John Cena would challenge Randy Orton for the title.
As if Shaq hadnt already started off the night with a slam dunk, he then threatened to stuff Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho. The egomaniacal Superstar informed the 7-footer that he was offended not to be consulted before the show. Jericho, however, would not challenge Shaq himself. Instead, he left that to his towering teammate, Big Show. The Worlds Largest Athlete posted up against Shaq, who refused to back down. Dave Scherer is reporting that Vince McMahon was very upset with how Chris Jericho and The Big Show versus Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, the opening Night of Champions match, played out. The WWE Chairman was reportedly irate as he threw a fit backstage, emphasizing his opinion that the match failed in its job of getting the crowd hot for the rest of the show. McMahon was seen throwing down his headsets at the end of the match.
As reported over the weekend, TNA Knockout Traci Brooks will be featured in an upcoming issue of Playboy magazine. Brooks recently shot a pictorial for November issue, which hits newsstands on October 5.
Brooks recently spoke to the The Sun about her decision to be the first TNA Knockout pose for the popular men's magazine. "Yes, it's true! I will be the first TNA Knockout ever to grace the cover and pages of Playboy. Shooting with Playboy was truly an amazing experience for me. I can't wait for all my fans to see it."
With WWE's recent shift to family-friendly TV-PG programming, it severed its relationship with Playboy. Much like WWE used to cross-promote their Divas appearing in Playboy with WrestleMania, Traci Brooks' Playboy release will coincide with TNA's biggest show of the year, Bound for Glory. She told The Sun, "I will be doing a big media tour in October to promote it plus several autograph signings."
- Katie sent the following: After WWE Night of Champions went off the air, Jeff Hardy celebrated his big win in the ring. CM Punk came back in the ring and stuck his hand out for Jeff. Jeff walked out as the crowd chanted "just say no" but he came back in and shook Punk's hand briefly. Hardy walked around and greeted fans and put a fan in the ring with him that was pointed out by Lilian Garcia.
- JTG was the only WWE worker on my Twitter list that was Tweeting during tonight's pay-per-view. Apparently WWE officials are really cracking down on cell phone usage backstage during shows, so maybe it wasn't the best idea from JTG.
- Speaking of Twitter, Jeff Hardy became a Trending Topic after the show. To my knowledge, this was the first time a WWE-related topic was at the top on Twitter.
- Kenny Williams sent this in: I ordered the Night of Champions PPV and for two hours, my screen was black. I called my cable company and was told that the entire greater Cincinnati area, mostly with Time Warner Cable service, would not be able to see the event even though people had already ordered it.
- WWE.com was having issues during the PPV broadcast, and several people reported that they could not watch the opening match of the PPV. The show came back on during CM Punk's promo, and worked the rest of the night.
- In the Night of Champions dark match, Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Dynasty after Shad nailed reverse stroke on Tyson Kidd.
- There was a sellout crowd of 17,774 at Night Of Champions in Philadelphia, PA.

TNA Knockout SoCal Val was telling people at the Comic-Con in San Diego yesterday that TNA had signed a deal with Playboy magazine. The rumor had been going around for TNA recently and now it looks to be confirmed.
WWE recently stopped their deal with Playboy when the decision was made to go in a PG-rated direction.
On a related note, Jeremy Borash teased on his Twitter that a TNA Knockout had recently posed for Playboy. Sources say that the Knockout who just wrapped a shoot is none other than new Main Event Mafia member Traci Brooks.
