For many Superstars and Extremists, the holidays are the only time of year they have to spend extended periods of time away from the road. Their travel schedules have them moving from city to city almost non-stop throughout the year. WWE.com recently caught up with the Superstars and Extremists to see what they had planned for their precious time off.
MATT HARDY Holiday plans: Right now, the most important thing is to have the annual Matt Hardy Christmas Bash. Everyone gathers and we eat, drink and enjoy ourselves. And also I look forward to chilling with my Dad and my brother at home. Holiday traditions: Each year after the New Year, which kind of goes along with a New Years Resolution, a group of us friends who came into the business together have what we call The Cleansing, where we get together and honestly and candidly talk about what has happened to us the past year, the good and the bad, and we figure out what we can improve on for the next year.
MARIA Holiday plans: I'm going home to Chicago, and then I'll look at the lights around town, I am going to try to catch the play Wicked. Then I'll go to grandparents and then after that I have about twelve other places to be.
EDGE Holiday plans: I will be in Canada; I can't get used to palm trees for Christmas. I'll be with my dogs, a hot chocolate and baileys, and I will have the whole Copeland family over to my house which is really nice. Holiday traditions: I got this one of a kind dining room table made, and it is going to become a family heirloom because it has Copeland branded into the side. So we will sit around that table and I will eat a whole lot, which will help me add to my accomplishment as the skinniest fat guy in professional wrestling.
K.C. JAMES Holiday plans: I plan on going to see my family and friends in Memphis but not much holiday cheer, getting back on the road right after Christmas to train harder. Holiday traditions: Christmas Eve night, the family gets together and we open our gifts
VICTORIA Holiday plans: I actually have no plans. I want to prepare my taxes and I am going to rest, relax and run my restaurant, Fat Tony's.
MICHELLE McCOOL Holiday plans: To spend Christmas at home and not in the hospital. Thanksgiving was no fun there, and I don't want to spend Christmas there. I just will be with the ones I love. Holiday traditions: McCool family Christmas is very laid back; we do pizza on paper plates with salad.
THEODORE LONG Holiday plans: To make SmackDown even bigger and better in 2007. I want to thank everybody for making 2006 a great year for SmackDown.
JAMIE NOBLE Holiday plans: Be with my family in West Virginia. Holiday traditions: We go snow-tubing every year. It's a newer tradition.
CHAVO GUERRERO Holiday plans: Staying home in my own house, sleeping in my own bed, watching my own TV, and sitting on my own couch. Holiday traditions: We always have Christmas Eve at our house, with my mom and my wife's mother.
MR. KENNEDY Holiday plans: Going to see a Packers game with my lovely, lovely girlfriend. Then to my mother's house, and then the following day to my grandmother's house. Holiday traditions: Every Christmas Eve we would go to my grandparents' house on my father's side, and it's weird now because they have all passed away so we do things on the fly.
TATANKA Holiday plans: The biggest thing to me is being with family. I've got a 10 year old, a four year old, and a two year old. Being Native, we are very close with family. Everything is about family.
PAUL LONDON Holiday plans: I plan to relax, enjoy a little time off, spending time in my Lucha Lounge, mellowing out and getting back to my happy place in my mind.
VITO Holiday plans: My first Christmas in Tampa, my new residence. No cold and snow, pool and palm trees this year. And, I will be wearing a sexy Santa's elves dress this year. Yes, they do have my size. Don't hate, participate! Holiday traditions: Being away from the family this year it will be tough to continue traditions, but its all about new beginnings for Vito.
LASHLEY Holiday plans: I am going to spend all my money on my family. I am optimistic about this year, so I am going to make everyone happy this year.
KELLY KELLY Holiday plans: Going home to Jacksonville to see my family who I haven't seen in a while, so I am excited. Holiday traditions: My dad is Jewish and my mother is Christian, so we celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas.
MATT STRIKER Holiday plans: Everyday is a holiday in the life of Matt Striker, whether it HHHHanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas or of course, Festivus. Holiday traditions: I would often sit on my father's lap and read to him such authors as Oscar Wilde, Tolstoy, and my father Norman Striker and I would put aside an hour to finish War and Peace. That and making my sister eat yellow sno-cones. But they weren't yellow because of urine; they were yellow because of lemon.
TOMMY DREAMER Holiday plans: Going to be with my family, I am Italian and Irish, so we will be eating and drinking. Holiday traditions: When you are Italian at Christmas, you start off with an antipasto, and then you get pasta, sausage and meatballs. You eat until you can't anymore. Then you nap, and then out comes the turkey and ham.
SYLVESTER TERKAY Holiday plans: Whenever I am not beating people up, I will be enjoying the cuisine of Pittsburgh and the company of my family. Holiday traditions: I will be defending my Scrabble championship within the family once again this year.
ELIJAH BURKE Holiday plans: I'm heading home to Jacksonville. I haven't been home in three years. So this year is really special.
REBECCA Holiday traditions: My mom bakes Jesus a birthday cake. It's weird but it is cute, and we look forward to it every year because it tastes good.
JONATHAN COACHMAN Holiday traditions: My father is a minister, so we go to church and open the gifts Christmas Eve and then Christmas day just dinner and chilling.
JOHNNY NITRO Holiday plans: A lot of egg nog, low carb of course. Hanging out with my main squeeze Melina, the hottest, sexiest, most dominant Diva in WWE history. Holiday traditions: Go to Beverly Hilton for a meal. Hang with K-Fed and well not Paris this year, she has been behind enemy lines. But also Wilmer Valderrama and Ashton Kutcher.
VAL VENIS Holiday traditions: Every December 1, our family would set up the Christmas tree, and that's a tradition I have maintained.
CHARLIE HAAS Holiday plans: My plans are just to spend time with my brand newborn baby and my wife and both of our families. Holiday traditions: Well we are going to start some now that we have started a family.
KENNY DYKSTRA Holiday plans: I am going to sit at home and everyone is going to bring gifts to me.
MICKIE JAMES Holiday plans: I did Christmas with my family early, so now I will go with my man to Massachusetts to see his family. Holiday traditions: Not really, just kind of munch out. We did some ham this year, and also some Hooters wings. And maybe some medium shelf egg nog.
ROB CONWAY Holiday plans: Big party right before Christmas, and spending time with my family. After that I will be taking other peoples Christmas money at the casino in Texas Hold 'Em.
SNITSKY Holiday plans: My plans are to get as many gifts as I can, give as little as I can, and eat as much as I can.
CRYME TYME Holiday plans: Shad: Spend time with my brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, my girl, see how my boys are doing. Holiday traditions: JTG: I like to go to the club on New Year's and pop open a new bottle of champagne to celebrate. Shad: I usually work. In the past I've worked as a bodyguard or at the clubs, so this is the first New Years I am not working.
ARMANDO ALEJANDRO ESTRADA Holiday plans: Armando like to have a glass of wine or two, watch Dick Clark's special and then I go to bed early so I can wake up in the morning and make more money.
SUPER CRAZY Holiday plans: Party with all of my family in Mexico. My wife, my kids, everybody.
LANCE CADE Holiday plans: Cade: I'm just going to enjoy a nice Christmas Eve with my family, and then, well, the rest is none of your business.
TREVOR MURDOCH Holiday plans: I got this little Charlie Brown tree next to my fire. It's gonna be me, my hound dog, and my old lady. We're gonna drink beer and bring in Christmas the right way: with alcoholic beverages and egg nog.
JIMMY WANG YANG Holiday plans: Spend time with my family.
Matt Hardy plans on spending time with his brother and father
This Holiday season, the Superstars and Extremists of Raw, SmackDown and ECW take time to reflect on the best gifts they have received and given during the holidays.
MARIA Best gift given: I've given iPods and DVD players and all that kind of stuff. For the last two years though, I have been giving to St. Jude's, donating what I can to help. Best gift received: Last year I was surprised by a guy, and we shouldn't have gotten each other gifts, but he got me a pink stocking cap that said Chicago. It was the funniest Christmas experience with gifts. Being with family is really the best gift I could get though, they have always been so supportive.
EDGE Best gift given: I don't normally give gifts to people, but I did buy my mother a house. And last year, I gave Santa the best gift ever: I speared him when he came down the chimney. I also get drunken requests from family members to give spears to them, but I won't do that. Best gift received: I always tell people I don't need anything, but I do remember as a kid wanting the Kiss action figures, and I did actually peek and found out I was getting them. I destroyed them in four months from playing with them.
VICTORIA Best gift given: Actually, I bought Chavo Guerrero a gift this year. Nothing too expensive. I bought him a low rider car that plays the song Low Rider. They have great toys these days; the 80's is coming back. This year though, the Widow's Peak is my gift to other Divas. Best gift received: Well it is tough to narrow it down with Christmas gifts, but the best gift I have ever received is when I was 16. It's every girls dream to have a convertible growing up in California. Not me, I wanted a Jeep Wrangler. And my dad surprised me with the Wrangler.
K.C. JAMES Best gift given: Three years ago, I had a Street Fight Match and I gave my opponent a broken hand and a black eye, that's the best gift i have given.
JILLIAN Best gift given: Me. Best gift received: As shallow as this may be, money.
MICHELLE McCOOL Best gift given: We do gag gifts in my family, and i can't really tell you the answer. Best gift received: My golden retriever; not only my best friend, but saved my life.
THEODORE LONG Best gift given: Giving my all to my family and making them happy and being able to entertain all the WWE fans. Best gift received: Being alive. Waking up Cristmas morning and being alive.
CHAVO GUERRERO Best gift received: When my parents were together I never realized how great it was to have everyone in one place. Now I do and I miss that, having my whole family together.
MR. KENNEDY Best gift given: The gift I am giving to my girlfriend this year. Best gift received: I was in 4th grade, and my cousin and I had two identical clothing boxes given to us. The worst gifts to get are clothes at that age. We had to open the boxes at the same time, and it was a trip to Disney World for a week for both of us.
TATANKA Best gift given: Just giving gifts to people we don't know. Several different have been given in the past to strangers, and will be given again this year.
MATT HARDY Best gift given: Giving someone my honesty.
PAUL LONDON Best gift given: My ability to be thoughtful, too many gifts are materialistic. The fact you think about someone is one of the best gifts you can give every year. Best gift received: I already know what I'm getting this year, my parents are setting me up with health insurance and that's pretty bad ass in my book.
BRIAN KENDRICK Best gift given: Last year I got my girl a new necklace, and she seemed to love it. Best gift received: The happiest I have ever been on Christmas morning was when my grandfather got my brother sister and I the original Nintendo system, but most importantly Zelda. I was also told not to buy anything for this year, because all I asked for was the Wii.
VITO Best gift given: I love to give gifts. I have been giving for the past few years to children, bringing smiles to people who have bad luck, or those who are sick in hospitals.
FUNAKI Best gift received: Money!
GREGORY HELMS Best gift received: I once got a mountain bike instead of a dirt bike, and initially I was upset but then I had the coolest bike in the neighborhood because the mountain bike could go places the dirt bike could not.
BALLS MAHONEY Best gift received: One Christmas after high school, money was tight, and my mother wrapped all my old football toys and video games.
LASHLEY Best gift given: I bought my little girl a pony. And I bought my father a Rolex; he has never had a watch and always wanted one.
DAIVARI Best gift given: The one I gave myself this year, PlayStation 3.
KELLY KELLY Best gift received: Gymnastics Barbie doll when I was 8. It is all I wanted then.
MATT STRIKER Best gift given: The best gift I have given is my lessons. I'm Matt Striker and I am your teacher.
THE SANDMAN Best gift received: I just got a poster from December to Dismember with my arm coming out of the chimney. It's like 4 foot tall by 2 foot wide.
TOMMY DREAMER Best gift received: My dog Chandler, he was the greatest gift I ever got.
SYLVESTER TERKAY Best gift received: Growing up, the best gift I received was a new bumper pool table.
ELIJAH BURKE Best gift received: The best gift was my mom working two jobs overtime. My father, God rest his soul, was a little tight on money. We had a 12 inch Christmas tree. But we had presents under the tree. The nursing home my mom worked at was called Eagle Crest. So we got Eagle Crest socks, toothbrush and toothpaste, and then two jumpsuits from the local store. So blessed to have my family. I'm getting emotional now.
REBECCA Best gift given: I bought my dad a watch and he wore it all the time before he passed away. Best gift received: I am not very needy so I am not sure. I bought myself a bunch of boots this year.
CARLITO Best gift given: Poster of myself. Best gift received: There have been so many good things over the years.
JONATHAN COACHMAN Best gift given: Never been a big gift giver. But the engagement ring to my fiancée is the best gift I have given. Best gift received: Last Christmas, my parents packaged up all the stuff we gave to them as kids and gave it to us. It had been in the basement and it just meant a lot.
JOHNNY NITRO Best gift given: The gift of receiving. People like to see how I react to what they have given me. Just the look on my face is good enough. Best gift received: I know Melina is getting me a pendant of myself. White-gold with diamonds. I am great, worthy of worship. The icon of sexiness.
VAL VENIS Best gift given: A little bit of the Big Valbowski always makes the ladies happy. But in all honesty it was a gift to my parents who were heavy smokers; I bought them an air filter that cleaned the air in their house.
SHELTON BENJAMIN Best gift given: A car. Best gift received: Probably a video game.
CHARLIE HAAS Best gift received: The best gift without a doubt is our baby Kayla Jacquelyn Haas.
MICKIE JAMES Best gift received: My 1st horse when I was 11 years old from my grandmother. Rhapsody. She's my baby.
ROB CONWAY Best gift given: Money always seems to light up peoples lives. Best gift received: Nobody has enough money to make me happy.
SNITSKY Best gift given: A nice ring for my girlfriend. Although I think I got the better end of that deal.
CRYME TYME Best gift given: JTG: My presence. Shad: When I was 7, we didn't have a lot, so I made a Christmas tree out of paper and made cards and gifts by hand and when everyone woke up there was stuff there for everyone. Best gift received: Shad: The love of my family. Only gift that matters. JTG: In 1995, my mother got me WWE Raw for Sega. We weren't the wealthiest and I was shocked because we didn't have the money and she got it.
ARMANDO ALEJANDRO ESTRADA Best gift given: The Samoan Bulldozer is going to give all those dummies the only gift that matters: Pain. Best gift received: Gift? You think people give me gifts? You think I get handouts like the American people, you think I walk around with my hands out hoping for a gift, for someone to give me something? Amigo, I earn everything I get with pure work. I don't give things out and I don't get things in return.
JEFF HARDY Best gift given: A ring to my girl. The show of affection and wanting to spend my life with someone. Best gift received: This job, a deep spiritual thankfulness to have this job.
For the second installment of WWE.coms Superstar to Superstar, WWE Champion John Cena took a few moments to talk to fellow hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg. His new album, Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, is in stores now. Below is a transcription of their recent conversation.
John Cena: Hey, Snoop, whats happenin, man?
Snoop Dogg: Good, how you doin?
Cena: Starting out, is there anything you want to say to our viewers on WWE.com? The album is out, its available, its in stores. Ive got it and it is unbelievable, man. I kind of walked through the story of the album. You do a lot of things in this thing. You keep it hard, with tracks by The Game and Ice Cube. Youre having some fun with Akon. Youre sending a message, too, man you got Stevie Wonder on there. I love that matching track with Dr. Dre. Youre doing a whole lot of things. Is there anything first and foremost you want to tell your fans about this album?
Snoop: Well, you know, basically, its Snoop Dogg all wrapped up in one. If you know Snoop Dogg, you know he do it every which way he do it in his own exiting way, and thats what this record is representing. Its just a piece of me in every style that you always love me in, whether its gangsta, whether its with a message, whether its something for the ladies, whether its something for the club, whether its something just to get you hyped up before you go out there and whoop some ass as a wrestler, you understand what Im saying?
Cena: That is indeed what Im saying, man. Honestly, I was truly, truly taken back. You got 21 joints in this album. And that is indeed 21 true joints. I want to take a second to just talk about Track 18, called Beat Up on Yo Pads. Obviously this is something that is near and dear to you. This is a direct shoutout to the kids involved in the Snoop Football League. You want to talk about that for a second?
Snoop: Yes, sir. Like I said, when I made that song it took me back to when I was a youngster and me and my homies, we used to just sit around and beat on our pads and try to make beats and come out with those sayings about the team that we was ready to play and how good we was. It translated into me making music, so I never really did that as an artist. Now that I got my league, got 2,000 kids in my second year, I had to make a theme song for the league and its called Beat Up on Yo Pads. Its catching on. Everyone around the whole world that love football, that play football are just enjoying it. Its one of those songs that just takes you back, to having a good time being a kid all over again.
Cena: This is a joint I heard that really put a good sense about the whole album on me. This is something that you got everybody listening to the Snoop Dogg. Literally you have done so much for the game of hip-hop and kind of overextended the normal boundaries. Seriously, you are pretty much a household name in the industry of hip-hop, so you got a lot of people listening to this. This is the type of joint that can make everybody say that although you are talking about truth at points, you are talking about whats real. Youre still moving in a positive direction and sending a positive message, especially to the youth out there who have a choice on which way to go with their lives.
Snoop: Yeah, you know that even in your profession, theres so many kids that look up to us when they see us on TV and they aspire upon what we do. A lot of times we never get a chance to say how much they mean to us and how much we want them to learn from what weve been through and what were doing. Thats why I wanted to take time to make a song and pour my heart all into it. Trying to get at a kid one-on-one, thats too hard. Id rather get to all of them at one time.
Cena: Thats real talk right there. Thats great, man. Thats great. One little last thing before we wrap up. I just wanted to get your feelings, having been around the game for a long time. Each of your offerings is done unbelievably well. Youve transcended hip-hop. Youve legitimately become a household name. Theres a lot of hip-hop music out right there, right now. The reason I really love just putting this album in and listening to it front to back because you do give so many views, so many styles, so much music what is your view on the current state of hip-hop? I noticed theres a lot of guest appearances on this album, and only a few new dogs on this thing. A lot of your old crew you got MC Eiht, E-40, you got Kurupt, Nate Dogg, R. Kelly the list goes on and on, but its mostly people youve been down with since day one. What is your current view on the state of hip-hop as a whole?
Snoop: I think the state of hip-hop is in a great biz, right now its on. You used to have rappers come in the game and want to own a gold chain and a car, now they coming into the game owning their own record company, they own publishing, they own a clothing line, they get movie deals. Theyre really establishing themselves as conglomerates and really making mass amounts of money, and really making an impression on the world. So the state of hip-hop is in the best state its ever been because theres more money involved, theres more business involved. Theres more creativity because youre starting to look at commercials on TV now, and it has to have hip-hop involved in it, whether its old school or new school. You have to take a piece of hip-hop and put it in a part of everything, or nothing sells. We sell everything, you understand what Im saying? Its a beautiful thing to see that even hip-hop has even reached off into the wrestling world. Me and my son, we love you for what you doing, for real.
Cena: Thank you, man. (Laughs.)
Snoop: We just did a little thing the other day, and they was asking, they wanted him to talk in-depth and he dont really speak in-depth. They was like, Who you like? Who are your favorite wrestlers? He was like, John Cena. They were like, Why? He was like, Cause he tight! They was like, No, explain why. He was like, He just tight! to explain its like transcending. They like, Why you like him? He said, Cause he can rap good and he wrestles. So its like wrestling is getting him, but then, it aint no gimmick that youre flowin and doing your thing as an MC. And Im gonna tell you, if you wasnt doing what you supposed to be doing, we wouldnt be doing this interview.
Cena: Exactly.
Snoop: I love what you doing and how you doing it. You doing it in a real fly way. I even said something to the effect of you could even get Snoop Dogg in a wrestling uniform and we could tag team.
Cena: Ah, I might call in that favor, man. Ill be honest with you, never say never on that one.
Snoop: Yeah, you call in that favor. Just hold him up and let me slap the s*** out of him and Ill walk up out the ring. (Laughs.) For real.
Cena: Thats my Dogg. (Laughs.) Im not going to take anymore of your time. I just wanted to say on a personal note, Track 20 with you and Dre back together, is awesome for me, man. That is the bomb on the whole album. I think the whole album is tight. You brought out names the list of cameos is unbelievable. You truly did roll out the Blue Carpet. Its good to see you back doing your thing. I want to let WWE fans know the album is in stores now, they can go cop it. Is there any final message you want to send?
Snoop: Yeah, also be on the lookout for my animated movie. I got an animated movie thats coming out to support Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, its called The Adventures of Tha Blue Carpet Treatment. It should be out in March or April, just to support it and give you something to look at because when I was making this record I was real visual about it. I had a cartoon mind while I was making it, so I just wanted to bring that to the light.
Cena: You could tell, you could tell that, man. Every song on the albums got a story and every story is great, man. Snoop, I want to thank you very much for your time. I know WWE is going to check it out and enjoy it.
Snoop: And big John Cena, theres only nothin to it but to do it. If you ever need somebodys ass kicked on the DL, holla at me.
Cena: You got it, man. Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, in stores now. The animated The Adventures of Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, look for it in March. But Im telling you, Blue Carpet Treatment is out and it is very, very heavy, in stores now. Snoop, thank you so much, I appreciate it.
Snoop: Good luck. And John, be good.
Cena: Later, man.

Associates: Dave Taylor
WWE Debut: Jan. 20, 2006
Career Highlights: Intercontinental Champion; WWE Tag Team Champion
WWE Debut: Dec. 2002
Midway through ECW on Sci Fi, Brad Armstrong of the legendary Armstrong family joined Joey Styles and Tazz at the announce table. Armstrong, former WCW Cruiserweight Champion, helped to provide insight on the match between Matt Striker and Balls Mahoney.
When I worked for WCW, I would set the VCR for ECW, Armstrong admitted. It was a one-hour action-packed show. Im thrilled to be a part of it.
Armstrong said WWE and ECW are the companies he always dreamed of working for.
Wrestling is a bit of a lost art these days, he said. Thats why you see guys like Finlay and Hardcore Holly in the ring: veterans who are hitting their stride, who are really hitting their peak. Making his commentating debut left Armstrong with jitters, but he credited Styles and Tazz for making his job easier with their talent.
Its a new challenge, Armstrong explained. Im trying to stay physically fit as I get older, but this is a different direction. You have to challenge your mind as well as your body.
Despite being nervous, Armstrong enjoyed having the opportunity to speak to ECW fans. Sitting at the announce table has been a dream for him since childhood.
If I can get paid for running my mouth, thats the way I want to go. Its not that Im doing anything different; its just that Im calling wrestling instead of wrestling.
Ik ben Boon Kenneth, en gebruik soms ook wel de schuilnaam Sting.
