Global Force Wrestling to invade Winston-Salem on Friday, August 14 DASH TO HOST GFW WRESTLING EVENT AT BB&TBALLPARK
GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING TO INVADE WINSTON-SALEM ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 14
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (June 12, 2015) The Winston-Salem Dash and BB&T Ballpark will host a Global Force Wrestling (GFW) event at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 14. This event is part of GFWs MiLB Grand Slam Tour.
GFW founder Jeff Jarrett will make an appearance at BB&T Ballpark during the Dashs 7 p.m. game this Tuesday, June 16, against the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Jarrett will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and announce the talent card for theAugust 14 event. Tuesdays contest is an All-You-Can-Eat-Night, during which fans can enjoy all the free hot dogs, hamburgers and cheeseburgers they can handle through the seventh inning. Normal ticket prices apply, and they start as low as $8.
Tickets for the GFW event will go on sale to Dash season ticket holders on Tuesday, June 23, at 10 a.m. The general public will be able to purchase tickets beginning on Wednesday, June 24, at 10 a.m.
A wrestling ring will be set up at home plate for the event on August 14. VIP tickets are available for $49 and include food and beverages from the Womble Carlyle Club and meet-and-greet opportunities with the wrestlers. Reserved seats behind the plate and above the dugouts range from $20-$40. All seats along the outfield lines are general admission for $10.
Six-time World Champion Kevin Nash will appear as a GFW Legend, while other confirmed talent includes the Killer Elite Squad (Lance Hoyt and Davey Boy Smith, Jr.) and Tessa Blanchard, the daughter of the founding member of the Four Horseman Tully Blanchard. More talent will be announced soon.

* Moose defeated Kevin Mathews. Moose hit a bionic elbow during the match.
* Chris "Adonis" Mordetzsky defeated Dustin Starr with a Masterlcok.
* Bullet Club (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) defeated the New Heavenly Bodies. Jarrett came out after the match to shake hands with Bullet Club to close the show.
Jarrett Reacts to TNA Pulling Tyrus from GFW Events
Adam Martin of Wrestleview recently asked Jeff Jarrett about TNA deciding to pull Tyrus from upcoming Global Force Wrestling events. Jarrett had the following to say:
"Am I disappointed that George Murdoch can't be part of it? Absolutely, but life happens. TNA, it's very obvious that they don't have the vision and don't have the mindset that I do. That it was without question, you know, George, yep you're going to be on our non-televised events. And that's where we stand. He agreed to it. He was legally available for us and then whatever happened - I don't want to speak for George. I don't want to speak for TNA. I don't know. He told me, "I can't make it." I'll sort of leave it at that. When one door closes on a situation, that's opportunity and the door is opened for other talents to come on. In the month of July we got a couple different announcements coming up. Some former World Heavyweight Champions (will) be part of the Global Force Wrestling roster."
Kazarian denied reports that he portrayed the Suicide character during his stint with TNA during a recent interview by The News Hub. Kaz said the following:
"That's a lie. That's only the internet. Suicide was played by Samoa Joe and Angelina Love not me. Fans probably started that rumor. Where do any of these rumors start? That's a terrible terrible rumor. It would have been career suicide if I were to have done that."
Former TNA Knockout Traci Brooks will be making her "farewell" appearance in pro wrestling at the July 18th House of Hardcore debut in Toronto, Ontario. Brooks was a prominent part of TNA from 2003 to 2011.
Other names scheduled for the event include: The Young Bucks, Team 3D, Rhino, Tommy Dreamer, The Addiction, Tony Nese, Eddie Kingston, Thea Trinidad, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Maria Kanellis and more.
WWE has announced on their website that they have pulled Rusev from tonight's Elimination Chamber match. Here is an excerpt from their article:
Due to a leg injury suffered earlier this week, Rusev is not medically cleared to compete in tonight's Elimination Chamber Match for the vacated Intercontinental Title.
Renee Young broke the news moments ago on Periscope, live from Corpus Christi, Texas, the site of tonight's event. The Bulgarian Brute suffered the injury on SmackDown, WWE.com previously reported.
WWE has major main roster plans in place for Finn Balor, according to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com.
As of this writing, its unknown when the NXT standout will receive a main roster promotion, or exactly what WWE has in store for Balor, but they do have big plans for in on the main roster.
Matt Hardy Comments on Impact Cancellation Reports
Matt Hardy posted a new video where he addresses reports of Destination America reportedly canceling TNA Impact Wrestling along with ROH getting picked up by the channel.
In the clip, Hardy claims that management assured the roster that everything is fine and they should keep doing what they are doing. He added that he is a company man, and he will wave the companys flag and say full speed ahead because that is the Omega way.
Hardy also mentions that he has a contract with TNA that goes through February 2016. Hardy goes on to mention that he loves ROH and is excited about both TNA and ROH working together in the future.
Former WWE Superstar Shelton Benjamin took to his Twitter account to mention that he recently had negotiations with TNA Wrestling:
"Many have asked will I ever go to Impact Wrestling. Very recently concluded a dialogue with the company and while both parties are eager to do business we were unable to reach a mutually satisfactory agreement. This is very regretful With all the possibility that were possible," Shelton said.
Since leaving WWE, Benjamin has had a run in Ring of Honor, appeared for NOAH, New Japan Pro Wrestling and is also part of Global Force Wrestling.
Sasha Banks hasnt been seen at NXT live events or TV tapings since her match at the Takeover special. There is speculation that Banks may have suffered an arm or shoulder injury.
The NXT Womens Champion was supposed to perform in a match during the 4th episode of last Thursdays NXT TV tapings, however she left early to go to the hospital when her fiancé, Sarath Ton (working as Mikaze), who was legitimately knocked unconscious during his tag match with Jason Jordan, against The Vaudevillians. As some may know, Ton was hired recently as the new WWE seamster.
Its not clear if Banks went into her Takeover with the injury or not. It is also very possible that Banks didnt wrestle at the tapings due to Saraths injury.
There is a lot of speculation surrounding Samoa Joe who recently signed a WWE deal which allows him to make several Ring of Honor TV appearances. Now that ROH has a cable deal with Destination America, WWE may try and sign him to an exclusive deal and have him pull out those upcoming appearances. This could be a same-case scenario for Rhyno and other talents.
Joe is scheduled for the June 20th ROH TV tapings, teaming with AJ Styles to face Kazarian and Daniels.
Rusev was spotted after last night's SmackDown tapings in Wilkes-Barre, PA sitting in a wheel chair with a brace on his leg. Correspondents from the event sent word that Rusev may have injured his ankle during his match against Ryback. The match ended abruptly with Ryback getting the win by disqualification when Rusev sent Ryback head first into the ring post.
Following the match, trainers came down to aid Rusev and help him to the backstage area. Rusev is scheduled for Sunday's Intercontinental title Elimination Chamber match. We will keep you updated with his status when more information as it becomes available.
As noted, Scott Halls profile was pulled from the Global Force Wrestling roster page following TMZs report that Hall was escorted out of an indie appearance due to intoxication.
While Hall claimed that he had pulled from GFW due to a potential WWE NXT job, Hall was in fact pulled from GFW almost immediately after TMZ reported that he was drunk at the event in New Jersey.
Ring of Honor COO Joe Koff spoke with Bill Apter of 1Wrestling.com about todays story of ROH TV being broadcast on Destination America. Koff had the following to say about ROH leading into TNA every week:
Not only is it three hours of wrestling, but its two different styles of wrestling. Im from the TV business, lead in and lead out is really important and I cant think of a better neighbor for ROH to have.
Several TNA talents have been sending out Tweets mentioning the news of Ring of Honor coming to Destination America. According to PWInsider, this is something that TNA is doing on their own and not something that Destination America had ask them to do.
There is no working relationship between the two companies and this is not something that two companies came up with together.
According to PWInsider, the Ring of Honor episodes that will air on Destination America will be the same series that is owned and distributed by Sinclair Broadcasting. The episodes will first debut over the weekend for Sinclair affiliates and then air the following Wednesday on Destination America.
Ring of Honor's relationship with Destination America has been something in the works for several months now. Destination America wants to be the "destination" for professional wrestling.
Mike Johnson reports that ROH will be seen weekly through at least the end of the year, possibly longer.
