Finlay Saddened By The Divas Posted by Steve Carrier on 03/31/2012 at 07:23 PM
-- Wrestling Observer reported Saturday that Dave Finlay (a/k/a Fit Finlay) has been rehired by WWE as producer. He was fired last year after concocting an angle where The Miz interrupted the singing of the "The Star-Spangled Banner" to garner jeers from the audience. The National Guard, a company sponsor, complained to WWE brass over the event and it led to Finlay's termination. During his time with WWE, he was in charge of training the company's female performers for wrestling matches. In a newly published interview with Power Slam, Finlay was asked to give his take on the flatulence angle SmackDown Diva Natalya has been saddled with.
"Well, I haven't seen that, but I've been told about it. Yes, I agree," he says in response to interviewer Greg Lambert labeling it extremely distasteful. "Had that been presented to me [as SmackDown producer], I'd have said... erm... Well, she may be comfortable with it. I don't know,
"Look, I see the girls as wrestlers, personalities and friends. They are great people. Before she retired, Michelle McCool was an awesome girl and wrestler. Layla too. It's heartbreaking to see [the girls] not getting to where they want to get to. Natalya is a very sweet girl and a talented wrestler."
The story going around Miami is that Brock Lesnar has signed a one-yer deal with WWE and will work a "more than Undertaker and less than Goldberg" type of schedule. This report is unconfirmed. Lesnar is in Miami with security and is surrounded by a large group of people shielding him from everyone.
- It was reported Friday that Brock Lesnar was in negotiations with WWE officials to make a surprise appearance at Sunday's WrestleMania XXVIII pay-per-view event at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida. Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer stated on the F4WOnline.com message board that both sides have been in talks for a month and that WWE at least initially wanted his return match to take place at SummerSlam on August 19. Furthermore, Meltzer said Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is aware of Lesnar's negotiations with the organization, thus explaining his response to an Associated Press writer's question last week regarding a possible confrontation.
"I'm not saying a thing," said a grinning Johnson with his eyebrow raised after being asked about a possible encounter with Lesnar. "I didn't say anything."
- Last word on Brock Lesnar appearing at WrestleMania 28 was that the two sides were still working on terms of a deal including financial issues and a number of dates that he would be working for WWE. WWE wants Lesnar to have a somewhat regular role.
The Rock reportedly has several backstage segments lined up for Sunday's WrestleMania 28 pay-per-view. We noted a few weeks back that officials were limiting other matches so CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho, Hell in a Cell and The Rock vs. John Cena could have the time they needed and so The Rock could have time for promos he had planned leading up to the main event.
- Former WWE Superstar Fit Finlay has reportedly returned to WWE in an agents role. He will start with the company this weekend and finish up his independent commitments over the next few weeks.
As noted before, Batista is in Miami and was reportedly picked up from the airport by a WWE employee. No word yet on talks with WWE but he is scheduled to participate in the Nautica South Beach Triathlon in support of St. Jude's Children's Hospital on Sunday. Sources say he could still make it to WrestleMania in time to appear.
Batista was hanging out with WWE Superstar Titus O'Neil on Friday night in Miami.

Former
TNA Star Discusses The Real Reason CM Punk Was Done With TNA
Another excerpt from Barbaric Wrestling's 'The Genesis of TNA', by Brett
Buchanan:
CHAPTER 9: SEX, DRUGS & MONEY Written By
Brett Buchanan of BarbaricWrestling.com
Petey Williams:
Quote
[In Spring 2004] myself, Chris Sabin, Johnny Devine, Sabu, and
Jack Evans were the only people who witnessed the fight [between CM Punk and
Teddy Hart] with our eyeballs. What happened was we used to eat at this place
called the White Trash Cafй, just a name, thats where we used to have our
catering at; it was right across the street from where we filmed. I didnt know
that they had beef with each other at all; I wasnt hip to what was going on on
the internet. Apparently they bad mouthed each other on the internet; I dont
know the whole story behind the back story. Were eating and I saw Teddy and
Jack walk in there and then me Sabin and Johnny Devine were walking away and
they were like hey Punk is in the restaurant and Teddy just walked in, want to
see what happens? Im like whats going on guys? They said you know [Punk and
Hart] dont like each other. We turned around and pretty much like Teddy and CM
Punk walked out and it was kind of like, one of them says youve got a problem,
hes like youve got a problem? There was like one shove, I cant remember who
shoved whose shirt first. Then it was just a couple of quick punches, Teddy got
the upper hand I think like Punk kind of tripped and Teddy kind of tripped him
over or something so he was on his ass. Teddy was like punching him, and then
Sabu jumped in, this all happened within 20 seconds. Sabu jumped in and kind of
tore them apart and as Sabu is trying to tear them apart Teddy still has Punks
hair and is trying to kick him in the face. Then they kind of both went their
separate ways, and the office found out about it and that was the last time I
ever saw Punk in TNA. Then after Teddy did his stint with Team Canada that
lasted another week, he never came back. You cant fight, theres consequences
right.

*Rumor*
TNA to be mentioned at Flair's WWE Hall of Fame appereance?
According to sources, one thing TNA wanted
when negotiating with WWE for Ric Flairs Hall of Fame participation was that
they wanted it to be said in some way during the show that Flair worked for TNA
or was there due to TNA.
Were not sure if WWE agreed to that particular
stipulation but it was one of the key things that was being discussed over the
past few weeks.

TMZ is reporting that TNA Wrestler and Olympic gold
medalist Kurt Angle is on the hunt to find fraudsters
who attempted to swindle money from his 80-year-old mother. The report states,
Angle's mother recently received a call from someone in the Dominican Republic
who claimed her grandson was in a local jail and needed $4,000. Angle's mom then
recieved another call the following day demanding an additional
$4,000.
Kurt's mother couldn't afford to send the additional $4,000 so
she contacted Kurt. Immediately Kurt became suspicious and began his search for
the family member in question. the family member was fine and had not visited
the Dominican Republic in over a year. That's when Kurt contacted local
authorities.
Kurt believes the crooks may have someone working with them
in the United States, possibly locally in Pittsburgh because they knew close
family details and were able to find his mother's unlisted phone number. Angle
is quoted as saying:
"I'm gonna find the son of a bitch who did this to
my mom," Angle tells us ... adding, "I don't want this happening to anyone
else!"

The Rock and John Cena meet face to face before WrestleMania XXVIII
The Rocks music hits, and the arena becomes unglued. Rock gets in the ring, and hes getting a mixture of boos and cheers. A Boots 2 Asses chant fires up. The Rock says he competed in what everyone thought was his last match at WrestleMania XX in 2004. Everywhere he went, people would ask when hes coming back, even his doctor. The Rock would say he doesnt know when hes coming back, but he would eventually come back. Hollywood starlets would invite him to dominate their pie, but only if he would tell them when he was coming back. For seven years he didnt know when until last year. The Rock went down to Georgia for WrestleMania XXVII. He walked into the Georgia Dome, and they blew the roof off the place when he hit the Rock Bottom heard round the world. The very next night, in this very arena, the main event of WrestleMania XVIII was set. History was made because of the crowd. In six days, he returns to do what he does better than anyone. Hes going to electrify again. It all happened here, and thats why hes proud to say, Finally, The Rock has come back to Atlanta!
Theres only one man who the people wanted to see him face at WrestleMania. Theres only one man who the millions AND MILLIONS of The Rocks fans want to see him face this Sunday, and that man is John Cena. The crowd boos. The last WrestleMania he competed in was John Cenas first. Since then, John Cena has become one of the biggest stars the industry has ever seen and the heartbeat of WWE. However, hes never and The Rock means NEVER faced anyone like The Rock.
John Cenas music hits, and he makes his way out to the ring to a tremendous reaction. Cena asks if The Rock can hear the crowd. Cena says thats whats going to happen at WrestleMania. Cena mentions that The Rock said hes never seen anything like him, but Cena says, as usual, hes only half right. The Rock has never seen anything like John Cena. For a year now, hes listened to the best trash talk from undoubtedly the best trash talker. Cena says hes happy to be here like he is every single night and with a smile on his face. The Rock can talk trash. Hes the best, but hes not the first. When The Rock left, there was a ten-year gap. People tried to rise up, and he made it. How many people have talked trash about John Cena? The list goes on, and it includes The Rocks strudel. Cena pauses for a dueling Lets go Cena Cena sucks chant. Cena says theres a certain moment of electricity when The Rock comes in, but you cant look past the pure emotion that happens when he enters the ring. Five words: Lets go Cena Cena sucks. The audience is divided, sometimes hostile. Finally theres one man with a set of ideals that does what the t-shirt says. He rises above, and the kicker is he rises above and wins. Thats what gets the haters. He rises above it, and he wins. There may be some here that hate that, but they know hell win at WrestleMania. Cena says he knows they hate it, but they know it just as sure as he does.
Cena says its time for more truth. Hes been an active member of WWE longer than The Rock. The Rock sold out arenas and blew up during the Attitude Era. The Rock then became a global superstar. Cena says hes had some cool moments, but he was here when it wasnt so cool to be a WWE superstar. However, Cena always beat the company drum and said proudly that he belongs here. Cena says people know he means it. Cena says he has to win. After WrestleMania, life goes on for The Rock. Hell be in the new GI Joe movie this summer. After WrestleMania, his office doesnt change. This is still his life. The past year, theyve said a lot of things to each other, so he feels real comfortable saying this to The Rocks face. Hell be god damned if he comes in as a visitor and take his life from him. For ten years, hes risked his health every night. No one remembers second place. They know he has to win this match more than anything hes ever had to do in his life.
The Rock says he knows how important the match is to Cena, but its just as important to him. Cena talked about what the people know. This house that Cena lives in, The Rock helped build. They know that Cena has never had an opponent like him. Its more than just about making history. They know that The Rock, the Peoples Champion, has come back to beat him. Thats what drives him. Never before has a man been able to say hes walked into WrestleMania and beat Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and John Cena. He needs to beat Cena to become the greatest WWE superstar of all time. On a personal level, he just doesnt like him. In six days, hes going to give him the ass kicking of a lifetime. Cena knows it, he knows it, and the people know it.
Cena says it doesnt matter what The Rock thinks. Hes going to put this in terms The Rock can understand. Cena has made a living off being the guy you cant see. At WrestleMania, The Rock will see him. Hell be the guy with his hand raised high, standing over The Rock, and the headline will read, John Cena whips The Rocks ass at WrestleMania.
WrestleMania Competitor Suffers Two Broken Ribs Posted by Steve Carrier on 03/26/2012 at 03:26 PM
In an injury that could affect this Sunday's WrestleMania XXVIII Divas Tag Team Match featuring Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos against Beth Phoenix and Eve, New York Post gossip column Page Six reported Monday that the Menounos broke a rib during a recent dancing rehearsal for dancing with the Stars.
She broke the rib during a hardcore rehearsal with dance partner Derek Hough, who was teaching her the Cha-cha-cha. A source says, "She has been in excruciating pain for the past few weeks during rehearsals, but she is staying strong and working through it. She refuses to give up."
Page Six adds Menounos is hiding a rib brace underneath her dancing gear.
Menounos confirmed the injury to Extra Monday, the entertainment news program she hosts. She says she suffered two broken ribs during a recent dance rehearsal. She will nonetheless perform on tonight's Dancing with the Stars
When asked why Alberto Del Rio may be kept off WrestleMania 28, a source with knowledge reported that it was likely due to Del Rio not being 100% ready to return. Reports from the weekend live event in Puerto Rico where Del Rio teamed with Ricardo Rodriguez noted that Del Rio performed well in the ring.
TNA Founder Jeff
Jarrett seems to have more in store for the TNA vs AAA feud following his loss
of the AAA World Heavyweight Title at AAA's Rey De Reyes event. Jarrett posted
the following on his
twitter account:
"Just hung up the phone w
@dorianroldan ...@Lucha_Libre_AAA will never be the same...report that
@Superluchas ..."
"Video of the empty arena before Rey

Austin
Aries Interview, Says He Is Happy In TNA, Slams Dirtsheets And More
TNA Wrestler Austin Aries spoke with Sky Germany which carries Impact Wrestling in
Germany. Below is a quick, paraphrased and translated recap:
What it means for him to be the longest reigning X-division champion
in history: "It means above all that I'm great! It
means that nobody can defeat me. It means that I'm the creme de la creme. At the
top. Right at the top. And do not stop."
His
toughest opponent: "In TNA Sting is probably my
toughest opponent. Not against him in the ring. He does everything in his power
to keep me down. But probably I'm my own toughest opponent, because only I can
beat me. Outside of TNA, I was a bit scared facing off against the Zebra
Kid."
Match he is more looking forward to in the
future. "Most looking forward to? I want a no holds
barred match with the knockouts where EVERYTHING is allowed. Against all TNA
Knockouts ..."
What is your biggest goal in
wrestling: "Make money of course."
Early days in wrestling. Where he trained and his first
opponent: "I started training in Minneapolis in 2000.
I trained four days a week, four hours per day. I was the first one there in the
morning and the last one to leave at night. That was eight months so, and then I
had my first match. Against Sheriff Johnny Emerald - the
bastard!"
If you swap for a day with anyone in
TNA, who would it be? "Maybe Jeff Jarrett. Just to be
in the presence of such a strange life."
Are you
satisfied with your current situation in TNA, or something could run
better "I'm absolutely happy with my current standing.
I'm very busy, I'm at the top of my division and earn good money - I can't
really complain."
Any wrestler from the past he
would have loved to work with: "Not really, but I
would be very happy to have been managed by Bobby Heenan. That would have been
crazy."
If he could imagine himself with a tag
team partner battling for the tag team titles: "Well,
I was successful in the past as a tag team wrestler. If the right partner and
the opportunity presents itself - why not? I think Bobby Roode and I would be a
great team, but we must first take care now to our own belt. We would probably
end up with the tag team titles and just end up being too boring for
us."
Whether it become more difficult in the
Internet era, to distinguish the good guys and bad guys in
wrestling "No, the Internet has made the wrestling
difficult because fans like like to think they know everything about it - but
that's just not the case. Nowadays, anyone can hide behind his computer screen
and pretend that he have insider information. In truth, they know nothing. For
me that is the problem with the Internet. Otherwise, everyone should be allowed
to decide for himself who he or she likes and who they
don't."
Getting the idea to post a tweet during
Victory Road pay per view: "We've been constantly
talking about Twitter. So I thought to myself: If I manage to put my opponent
out of action for a while, then I can quickly grab my phone. So I prepared a
tweet, and when the opportunity arose, I sent it - and thus made
history."
On his wine drinking: "Oh
yes, I know how to appreciate a good red wine. Most of the time, I like drinking
wine ice cold - depending on my mood - a good Shiraz or Pinot
Noir."
What did you do before you started 2000 with the
wrestling? "I was just out of college and I have been thinking about
what to do next. Then i found wrestling."
Did you used
to have a favorite wrestler? "I don't think I have one single
favorite wrestler. I started watching wrestling during the Jim Crocket promotion
days. So I'm a big fan of the Horsmen, Dusty Rhodes, Magnum TA."
On which wrestler influenced him the most: "I think all of
them had some sort of influence on me."
Best advice he
ever received in wrestling? "Bobby Heenan once said: If you do this
for the money, you're an idiot. And if you do it for any other reason except
make the money, you're an idiot. "
