Top RAW diva moving to Smackdown?
Posted by Bobby Spade on 05/10/2008 at 07:09 PM

In the new WWE Magazine Superstar Yearbook, there is an article claiming that Mickie James might be switching brands. Here is what it said, "Despite the lack of a Women's Championship, we wouldn't be surprised to see Mickie moved to SmackDown, where she can thoroughly dominate."

    Update on Torrie Wilson's release
Posted by Bobby Spade on 05/09/2008 at 04:31 PM

To put the Internet debating and speculation to rest, T-Wilson.org (the official fansite of Torrie Wilson) has confirmed from Torrie herself that she actually asked for her release from World Wrestling Entertainment. The website notes that Torrie will be commenting on her departure from WWE on her MySpace account as well as the fansite in the near future.

    Angle injury update

    Angle injury update

    Source: PWInsider.com

Kurt Angle was scheduled to wrestle Samoa Joe at last night's TNA house show in Barre, Vermont but did not appear at the event. It was announced that a neck injury prevented him from wrestling. AJ Styles replaced Kurt Angle on the card and lost to TNA Champion Samoa Joe.

We reported here earlier in the week that Angle was believed to be injured by a botched move while wrestling in Korea last weekend.

Angle is expected to be at Sacrifice on Sunday and is expected to stay out of the ring until then.

Kevin Nash talks about Impact vs. Smackdown

Kevin Nash talks about Impact vs. Smackdown

Kevin Nash said there are similarities between working for Vince McMahon and Jeff Jarett during an interview with the UK Sun. "With creative, in WWE, people would always go back and forth about something and finally someone would say: “You know what, let’s just go talk to Vince. I’m tired of talking to a horse’s ass. Vince what do you want?” Vince would make a decision and it would get done. And in TNA, it’s like that with Jeff. Anytime there’s infighting just grab Jeff and say: “What do you want? Tell these guys what you want.”

When asked if he'd rather see TNA Impact go head-to-head with Raw or Smackdown, Nash ripped the latter. "I wouldn't want to go against Smackdown," he said. "It's like beating a guy with one leg. That show isn't even watchable—sorry Take (Undertaker)."

LONDON, Ontario – While the Championship Chase to Judgment Day dominated Friday Night SmackDown, it was a good night for two Superstars who remain undefeated on SmackDown – Natalya and Vladimir Kozlov.

Borrowing one from Brett "Hit Man" Hart’s bag of tricks, Natalya used the Sharpshooter to make Kelly Kelly submit. (WATCH) With the decisive win, the blonde powerhouse sent a message to all Divas – including Michelle McCool, who was watching the action closely on a backstage monitor.

In machine-like fashion, Russian juggernaut Vladimir Kozlov made quick work of Canadian local, Phil Atlas. (WATCH) Using raw power, Kozlov put Atlas away with a hard-hitting reverse DDT, improving his unbeaten SmackDown record to 6-0.

    Championship Chase
After SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero stripped Undertaker of the World Heavyweight Championship last Friday on SmackDown (WATCH), our fans were outraged. Read the full story…

With the title vacant, the GM declared The Deadman would have the opportunity to regain the gold in a World Heavyweight title match at Judgment Day. But first, to determine who his challenger would be, Guerrero set up a series of five Championship Chase matches on SmackDown, culminating in an Over-the-Top-Rope Challenge that same night – with the ultimate winner battling The Phenom for the gold at Judgment Day.

(novum/ap/tdb)

NEWS FROM THURSDAY’S “iMPACT!” – THE FINAL COUNTDOWN TO SUNDAY’S “SACRIFICE” PAY-PER-VIEW EVENT
    By Bill Banks

There are several major news items to report from Thursday’s “iMPACT!” on SpikeTV as TNA Wrestling counts down the hours until Sunday’s huge “Sacrifice” Pay-Per-View epic event!

    - On the broadcast, TNA Management Director Jim Cornette began the drawings to pair up the “Egotistical 8” for this Sunday’s Deuces Wild Tournament. Sting was up first and he drew “Cowboy” James Storm as his partner. Storm objected and got into a brawl with the icon, leading to a No Disqualification match later on between the two, which Sting won.

    - The second “Egotistical 8” pairing on the broadcast saw Matt Morgan and Kip James named partners for the Pay-Per-View. Morgan and James ended up getting in a war of words and later had a match of their own to hopefully settle their differences before Sunday night. Morgan won the bout with his big boot finisher on Kip James.

    - The remaining stars in the Egotistical 8 (BG James, Booker T, Awesome Kong and Robert Roode) will be paired up this Sunday on Pay-Per-View prior to the tournament kicking off. The tournament will also feature the teams of The Latin American Xchange, Christian Cage & Rhino, Team 3D and AJ Styles & Super Eric all fighting to become the new TNA World Tag Team Champions.

    - Kurt Angle and Scott Steiner promised to put aside their differences for one match as they faced TNA World Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash in the main event. After Steiner smashed Nash with his steel pipe, Angle hit the Olympic Slam on “Big Sexy” for the win. However, after the win Angle and Steiner went after each other! This Sunday at Sacrifice, Joe will defend the World Title against Angle and Steiner in a three-way match.

    - Also on the broadcast, Cornette set up an immunity match between the TNA Knockouts involved in this Sunday’s makeover match. Gail Kim won the bout, gaining immunity from having her head shaved if she were to lose the bout this Sunday on Pay-Per-View.

    - A brawl erupted on the broadcast between Team 3D and Christian Cage and Rhino as both tandems fought throughout the arena in a preview of Sundays Deuces Wild Tournament. However, LAX got involved in the fight and ended up taking down both teams!

    - Jimmy Rave of the Rock N’ Rave Infection won an X Division match, besting X Champion “Maple Leaf Muscle” Petey Williams, Consequences Creed, Johnny Devine, Shark Boy and Curry Man. Rave won the match thanks to outside interference from his tag team partner Lance Hoyt.

WWE Raw on Monday night drew a 3.2 rating, in line with the average since WrestleMania. It drew a 3.1 first hour rating and 3.3 second hour rating and 4.6 million viewers overall. It went up against NBA Playoffs on TNT. It skewed more male than usual with 70 percent and the usual median age of 34.

The first episode of May last year drew a 3.6, so it's down more than 10 pecent. It ties the lowest rating for the first Raw in May over the last 12 years. The last time it drew a 3.2 rating was May 5, 1997. It has been more than 12 years since it drew a lower rating.

WWE Star Thinks Ric Flair "Held On Too Long"

The Miami Herald has an interview with SmackDown Superstar Fit Finlay. In the interview he talks about his lengthy journey in professional wrestling, the WWE Hall of Fame, how hard it is to be away from family when on the road, the WWE Divas, seeing himself in video games and more. On Ric Flair, Finlay said, "I would love to go out on a higher note than Ric Flair because I think Ric held on too long. My opinion." Finlay then praises Ashley Massaro. "Ashley's got the guts. I've seen her go through a lot of stuff, a lot of injuries, but she picks herself up and keeps going, and that's what it's all about. Keep going."

    WWE Hall of Famer hospitalized

WWE Hall of Fame "Superstar" Billy Graham was hospitalized on Monday evening after falling in his hotel room. Apparently, the bathroom was too small for a man of his size, and Graham tried to catch himself by grabbing onto the sink in the bathroom but the sink came off the wall. As a result, Graham took a bad fall and was bleeding. Graham was released from the hospital after X-rays were taken.

Updates on The Boogeyman and Big Daddy V
Posted by Randy Gordon on 05/06/2008 at 12:27 PM

The entire ECW roster participated in last night's match on Raw with the exception of two wrestlers; The Boogeyman and Big Daddy V. Boogeyman went down with a calf injury last fall -- which has likely since healed -- but creative doesn't appear to be interested in bringing him back. At last word, the plan on The Boogeyman is to only use him for wacky television skits when need be. Regarding Big Daddy V, he was abruptly pulled off the road in the mid-March due to concern from management over his health and chronic obesity. V has been instructed to lose weight before he can return to the ring.

Adamle says he will take over JR's spot

The WWE site has reaction from Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross on Raw General Manager William Regal bringing out Mike Adamle to do commentary for one match. The article also features comments from Adamle. He said, "I’m as good as Jim Ross is, and one day I will take over his spot on Raw. As for walking off ECW, I'll make a statement about that tomorrow night on ECW on Sci Fi's 100th episode."

    Update on Petey Williams' injury

As reported earlier, Petey Williams suffered what is believed to be a broken orbital bone at the Impact taping last Tuesday in Orlando, Florida during a 6-man non-title X-division match. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that it was originally thought that he had suffered a broken jaw from a stiff knee by Jimmy Rave. According to Meltzer, Williams freaked out after he suffered the injury because he does not have health insurance but Terry Taylor told him to go to the hospital and TNA would pick up the bill. The match in which the injury occurred will air on this Thursday's edition of Impact on Spike TV.

    Mike Knox def. Tommy Dreamer
    Kofi Kingston def. Matt Striker
    Colin Delaney def. Armando Estrada
ECW Champion Kane & CM Punk def. Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely

LONDON, Ontario – History was made on the 100th episode of ECW on Sci Fi, as Colin Delaney finally earned an ECW contract. The persistence of our fans’ favorite underdog finally paid off when he defeated none other than ECW General Manager Armando Estrada on the historic night. (WATCH)

Young Delaney, who has been beaten, battered and bruised week after week for several months in the Land of the Extreme, boldly defeated a strong Estrada to earn his coveted contract. Delaney rolled up the General Manager for a jubilant win, which was immediately followed by a celebration with our fans in the crowd. He then joined Tazz to offer him congratulations in the ECW ring.

“Tazz … I did it!” Delaney exclaimed. “This is what makes it all worth it, right here!”

An ecstatic Delaney continued on to thank his mentor, Tommy Dreamer, and our fans. Watch Delaney’s dreams really come true next Tuesday when he signs his contract on ECW on Sci Fi.

Before the Extreme action began on Tuesday, ECW announcer Mike Adamle offered an apology to color commentator Tazz and the ECW fans for leaving the announce table on last week’s show. Adamle admitted he’s made mistakes, but said he’s ready to up his Extreme game as he returned to offer his commentary. (WATCH)

“I had no idea how hard this job was and how great the ECW fans are,” Adamle told our audience. “I love WWE and I love working for ECW, and I will do everything, everything in my power to be as perfect as I possibly can and bring you the best possible product you ECW fans deserve.”

Also on ECW’s 100th episode, which highlighted some of the show’s most Extreme moments throughout its history, Mike Knox was victorious once again, this time under Extreme Rules. For the second week in a row, Knox beat Tommy Dreamer in an extremely physical match, complete with a hockey stick, a Singapore cane, a rowing oar and guest commentary by ECW Original Stevie Richards. After Knox brutally drove Dreamer through a table, he picked up the victory over the ECW Original.

Matt Striker’s lesson plan for Kofi Kingston was given a failing grade by the unstoppable Jamaican Superstar on Tuesday night. As Shelton Benjamin offered his “Gold Standard” of guest commentary, Kingston was victorious again on ECW’s 100th episode. The happy-go-lucky, fan-favorite is still without a loss in the Land of the Extreme, but after picking up his most recent win, Benjamin stormed into the ring and attacked Kingston, leaving him face-down.

Also on Tuesday’s show, Kelly Kelly brought back the infamous Kelly’s Exposé, the sexy show which introduced our fans to the Diva when ECW debuted on Sci Fi. But this special, one-night show was interrupted by Layla. Kelly Kelly’s former friend offered her a little competition in the dance department, but the Divas’ contest turned into a catfight, which had to be broken up by the ECW referees.

Finally, ECW Champion Kane joined CM Punk to face Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely in tag team action. Still seething after losing a 2-on-1 Handicap Match to Guerrero and his bodyguard the week earlier, the Big Red Machine had the help of Mr. Money in the Bank to claim tag team victory on ECW’s 100th episode. (WATCH)

CM Punk vs. Randy Orton (No Contest)
    JBL def. DH Smith
ECW roster def. WWE Champion Triple H & Mr. Kennedy (Handicap Match)

TORONTO – Former WWE Champion Randy Orton’s pursuit of the title has the Superstar crazed with nothing but revenge on his mind. His opponent Monday Night, the reigning Mr. Money in the Bank, CM Punk, also has his sights on gold.

While Orton knows he will fight Triple H at Judgment Day, Punk continues to bide his time until he sees the opportunity to challenge for a World Title, with the deadline for cashing in WrestleMania XXV in Houston. But both men had their plans of gaining momentum dashed when General Manager William Regal ended their one-on-one encounter, once again wielding his power by turning out the lights.

Neither Punk nor Orton’s nights were over, however, as the Straightedge Superstar competed in the main event match that saw the entire ECW roster take on Triple H & Mr. Kennedy. When that match turned into a 16-man melee, Punk found himself the victim of a Triple H chair shot to the head, while Orton capitalized when the lights went out, emerging to deliver a thunderous RKO to his Judgment Day opponent. Read the full story…

I got all my sisters and me
Beth Phoenix invoked her rematch clause on Raw, but Women’s Champion Mickie James successfully defended her title against the former champion in a Lumberjack Match. Over the past few weeks, the Divas of WWE have been involved in 12-Diva Tag Matches, but this night belonged to the Women’s Champion.

The Glamazon’s fellow Diva, Melina, cost her the chance to reclaim gold when she accidentally nailed the dominant Diva with her boot, giving James the opening she needed to earn another victory and keep her title.

    Tumultuous tandem
Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho & Shawn Michaels teamed together on Raw to defeat WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz in a non-title match. With HBK seemingly less than 100 percent, Y2J fought the champions with all he had, and Michaels delivered Sweet Chin Music to John Morrison, followed by a Lionsault by Jericho to get the win.

After Raw finished, WWE Mobile on AT&T subscribers were the first of our fans to know that at Judgment Day, the growing tension between Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho will see the two square off one-on-one. Preview the match

    The Cabana gets “Rowdy”
Carlito hosted a special edition of his Cabana with a very special guest – WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Carlito told Piper that it wasn’t cool when he slapped Santino Marella last week, which brought Marella and a microphone to the arena.

Insulting Piper, Marella berated “Hot Rod” for his actions, and the No. 1 contenders to the World Tag Team Championship were poised to attack – until Cody Rhodes came to Piper’s defense. Rhodes told Carlito & Santino that even though his fellow champion Hardcore Holly wasn’t in the arena tonight, another duo was anxious to meet Roddy Piper. Rhodes introduced Cryme Tyme, and JTG & Shad joined Rhodes and Piper in ridding Toronto of “Can-tino.”

    Angry god
JBL’s anger over losing the Fatal Four Way at Backlash continued for a second straight week, as the self-proclaimed “Wrestling god” took on Canada’s own DH Smith. Offering a warning before the match to Smith, JBL pummeled the young Raw Superstar and solidified his threats to John Cena – the man who eliminated him at Backlash. JBL is more focused with his newfound attitude, and he is looking to make Cena – whom he will face at Judgment Day – and anyone else who stands in his way pay for his misery.

    For love of country
GM William Regal continued to lend a hand to his fellow Britons, Paul & Katie Lea Burchill, when he placed the siblings into a Handicap Match for the second straight week. Before the match, Regal removed Jim Ross from commentary and replaced him with Mike Adamle, much to the chagrin of everyone but the General Manager. The Burchill’s made the most of the opportunity afforded to them, destroying their competition once again. Paul delivered a devastating curb stomp to John Cutler, again allowing Katie Lea to get the pin for the victory.

    Apologies, surprises…DAMN
Last week, Trevor Murdoch expressed his frustration over mounting losses with his rendition of "Friends in Low Places" – much to the chagrin of his tag team partner, Lance Cade. Murdoch continued his serenading ways this week, belting out "Stand by Your Man." Toronto’s own Trish Stratus made a surprising return to the Air Canada Centre, and then she was joined by Ron Simmons, who had his own critique of Trevor’s tune: “Damn!”

    Regal goes to the Extreme
The 2008 King of the Ring and Raw General Manager, William Regal, began his night by receiving a ringing endorsement from Mr. McMahon. With that in hand, he continued his iron-fisted rule over the Superstars of Raw.

Regal came face-to-face with Mr. Kennedy, whom he brawled with last week, and on Raw warned not to draw his ire. But the loudmouth would not listen, and Regal then ordered Kennedy into a Handicap Match against the entire ECW roster – a favor for ECW General Manager Armando Estrada to help promote Tuesday’s 100th episode of ECW on Sci Fi.

WWE Champion Triple H then came to the ring to voice his displeasure over Regal’s decision to turn the lights out on his match with Randy Orton last week. The Game’s mouth landed him in the Handicap Match alongside Kennedy, and when the smoke cleared, ECW’s best and brightest stood tall with the odds stacked in their favor.

    ANGLE MOGELIJK GEBLESSEERD

Angle May Have Suffered A Neck Injury This Weekend

Kurt Angle and AJ Styles wrestled for New Korea Pro Wrestling earlier today. The event was part of Korea’s Childrens day, and the matches were held at the Jang Chung Gym in Seoul.

    - AJ Styles defeated Ryuji Hijikata and Hung Tyun. Styles retained the NKPW Junior Heavyweight title.

    - In the main event, Kurt Angle battled Osamu Nishimura (All Japan) and Yeok Bal San (Riki Passan) in the NKPW Heavyweight title match contested under triple threat rules. During the match, Bal San attempted a bodyslam on Angle, but Angle landed incorrectly and may have aggravated his neck. According to the source, the spot looked serious. After the match, Angle apologized to the fans since he was scheduled to do an autograph signing. Angle said he would have to go to the hospital in America to examine his neck situation.
