Update on a New TNA Ring Announcer

TNA has had at least some interest in former WCW ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta. Cappetta has done a bit of work with Ring of Honor in recent years but currently is teaching Spanish at Christian Brothers Academy in New Jersey.

Big Show & Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston def. World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger & Drew McIntyre
CM Punk def. Kane (Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match)
Christian & Hornswoggle def. Dolph Ziggler & Chavo Guerrero
    Luke Gallows def. MVP
The Undertaker def. Rey Mysterio (Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match)

CLEVELAND – In his first SmackDown appearance since WrestleMania, Undertaker defeated Rey Mysterio to qualify for the World Heavyweight Championship Fatal 4-Way Match. And in another big first, CM Punk revealed his new look since having his head shaved at Over the Limit. Sporting a black mask covering his now-bald head, Punk defeated Kane to also qualify for Fatal 4-Way.

The Undertaker def. Rey Mysterio in a Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Making his return to Friday night, Undertaker battled Rey Mysterio for an opportunity to compete at Fatal 4-Way. Going into the match, both Superstars knew that Big Show and CM Punk already qualified to square off with World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger. Despite a formidable fight from Mysterio, The Deadman ultimately triumphed with the Tombstone. (Fatal 4-Way preview)

Luke Gallows def. MVP (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Utilizing Straight Edge reinforcements, Luke Gallows all but guaranteed his victory against MVP. While Serena distracted the referee, the now-infamous hooded stranger appeared out of nowhere and drove MVP’s skull to the canvas. Capitalizing on his dazed opponent, Gallows sealed the deal with the Gallows Pole.

Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. Drew McIntyre announced (WATCH)
Former champion Drew McIntyre invoked his rematch clause and will take on Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingstong next week on SmackDown.

Christian & Hornswoggle def. Dolph Ziggler & Chavo Guerrero (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After Dolph Ziggler crashed the set of the “Peep Show” last week, Christian and Hornswoggle were out for some retribution. They found it when Christian turned the lights out for Chavo Guererro with the Killswitch. Unhappy with the outcome, Ziggler slapped an asphyxiating sleeper on Christian. After Christian drifted into la la land – and Ziggler finally released the hold at the ref’s insistence – Vickie Guerrero flashed him a mischievous smile and applauded from outside the ring.

CM Punk def. Kane in a Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After Rey Mysterio shaved CM Punk’s head at Over the Limit, those in attendance and watching all over the world waited to see just how Punk would look. However, The Second City Saint didn’t give the WWE Universe what they wanted. Instead, he concealed himself behind a skin-tight black mask, emblazoned with S.E.S. lettering. Protruding from the mask was Punk’s still-intact beard.

Although his symbol of purity had been taken, Punk seemed to embrace his new appearance and used it to fuel his fight against Kane. As Serena distracted the referee, Luke Gallows punched The Big Red Monster in the head. With Kane still reeling, Punk capitalized and hit the Go to Sleep for the Fatal 4-Way qualifying win.

Big Show & Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston def. World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger & Drew McIntyre (PHOTOS | WATCH)
While ensuring that World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger was watching, Big Show delivered a debilitating knockout punch to Drew McIntyre to simultaneously win the bout for his team, while also sending a strong message to his Fatal 4-Way opponent.

Matt Hardy was suspended without pay (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The night started with major news coming in the form of another letter from Mr. McMahon that Drew McIntyre hand-delivered to SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long. As Long read McMahon’s words out loud, it was revealed that Matt Hardy was suspended without pay for his reckless actions at Over the Limit.

After Long read the letter, McIntyre issued his own ominous words: “If you turn a blind eye to my misfortunes one more time, I guarantee you, the next letter you receive from me will be informing you of your termination as General Manager.”

Furious at the news, Matt Hardy entered the arena, itching to get his hands on McIntyre. Despite Hardy’s best efforts to get a piece of the Scottish Superstar, WWE officials restrained and prevented him from approaching the ring.

Latest news on the no-blood policy in WWE

Latest news on the no-blood policy in WWE

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

The Undertaker suffered a busted nose on this week's Smackdown, thanks to Rey Mysterio's 619. Taker bled for a few minutes before the match ended and no trainer was sent out to stop the blood. It's interesting that this happened after two matches were hurt at Over the Limit due to trainers coming out to stop cuts.

Some people in the company figure that the no-blood rule is just a phase and blame it mostly on Linda McMahon running for office. One of the main reasons WWE has stopped wanting blood on TV is because agreements that have been made to attract a higher class of sponsors. The feeling is that if WWE's popularity goes way down then they would probably change the rule but Linda McMahon winning or losing the election won't bring any changes. Dave Meltzer believes that the PG rule will likely be in effect until either the license deal with Mattel runs out, which is years from now, or another company, such as TNA, takes away from WWE's popularity.

    TNA iMPACT Report – May 27th, 2010
    Report by Stuart Carapola, PWInsider

We open this week’s episode with a recap of the unveiling of the Top Ten Rankings and Kurt Angle voluntarily pulling himself out of the rankings, as well as the finish of last week’s main event that saw Ken Anderson get involved in Jeff Hardy’s win over Sting.

We’re in Orlando, Florida, and tonight on Impact, the Beautiful People defend the Knockouts Tag Team Title against Sarita & Taylor Wilde, and Hall & Nash take on Team 3D and Ink Inc in a three way match. Plus, Jay Lethal faces Frankie Kazarian in singles action!

But right now, let’s go to the ring for our show opening promo with the #3 contender, Jeff Hardy. Hardy says hello to the Creatures Of The Night, then says he’s out here for one reason: to find out what’s going on with Ken Anderson. He calls Anderson out to the ring to explain himself, and Anderson obliges. Anderson says that maybe he does things like that, extends hands, and gives assists when needed to confuse people, and maybe he did it to confuse Hardy, or to confuse the people, or maybe he did it…because he’s an asshole. But Anderson says to look at himself: he’s got green hair, facepaint, tattoos, and his little dance, and says that old ladies on the street probably think he’s an asshole, and he tells Hardy to embrace his inner assholiness. Anderson says they’re all assholes and wouldn’t Hardy like to be an asshole too? He starts an asshole chant with the crowd, but before this goes too much further, here comes the former champ AJ Styles and he’s got his entire gang with him. Styles says he just got here and saw that he had a match with Hardy tonight, and he shouldn’t be allowed in the same ring as AJ and should have to but a ticket just to see him wrestle, but Eric Bischoff says Hardy requested to wrestle him. Hardy says he didn’t ask to wrestle anyone, and Styles says he meant Anderson. He is the Phenomenal AJ Styles, The One. AJ asks Anderson if he knows who he is and Anderson says yes, he’s The One, but wants to introduce himself to AJ: he hands the mic to Hardy, takes his personal mic as it drops from the ceiling, and says he’s Mr Anderson…Anderson. And with that, we’re at our first commercial!

We’re back, and looking at a recap of the Team 3D-Jesse Neal situation that led to Brother Ray turning on Jesse and the two of them brawling last week on Impact. In fact, let’s head to the ring for our first match…

TNA World Tag Team Champions The Band vs Team 3D vs Ink Inc

As Hall & Nash make their way to the ring, we discover that they’re working under Freebird Rules, in that any two of the three of them can defend the title. Hall looks like he’s started to pack some of that weight he lost back on. Moore and Young start, Young takes him down with a shoulderblock off the ropes, but Moore with a series of armdrags and an inverted atomic drop followed by a legdrop for 1. Young whips Moore into the corner but eats elbow on a charge and Moore with a bulldog for 2. Tag out to Jesse Neal and a double hiptoss followed by Moore hiptossing Neal onto Young for 2. Young whips Neal into the corner but eats boot on a charge and Neal with a crossbody out of the corner for 2. Young goes to the eyes and a big slam, but Brother Ray tags himself in…but misses an elbowdrop and now Neal starts firing rights at Ray but Ray takes his head off with a lariat. Ray chops Neal in the corner and then sits on his back and starts crossfacing him. Devon tags himself in, which seemed to upset Ray, and Devon tosses Neal to his corner and allows him to tag Moore in. Devon takes Moore to the corner but Moore escapes and gets a sunset flip for 2 and follows that up with a leg lariat, then tags Neal back in. Blind tag to Ray who comes in and wipes out both Moore and Neal, then goes back to beating up Neal in the corner. Ray goes to the floor and gets a chair, but Devon grabs it away from him before he can nail Neal and the distraction allows Neal to hit the spear and pin Brother Ray for the win.

    Winners: Ink Inc

Team 3D argue with one another while the Band laugh because they’re still the champions. Ray and Devon get into a little spat in the ring, then says Jesse Neal’s getting too big for his britches and challenges him to a match at Slammiversary, then tells Devon to stay out of it.

Backstage, Christy asks Kazarian how he feels coming off of his big win last night, and Kazarian says he’s feeling great and it’s all because of Ric Flair. Flair says he’s impressed, but if he wants to keep impressing Flair, he’s got to go out there and beat Jay Lethal tonight. AJ walks in and says he needs to talk to Flair, but Flair is busy with Kazarian, AJ is AJ Styles and he’ll be fine. Kazarian vs Lethal is next!

We go to the Crappy Cam as Rob Van Dam is backstage
saying that he’s calling Sting out tonight. Sting has a shot at the World Title at Slammiversary, but a win over RVD is something Sting is never going to have.

    Frankie Kazarian vs Jay Lethal

Kazarian opens up with a go behind and nails Lethal from behind and fires in a few shots, but Lethal with a leg lariat. Lethal backdropped to the apron, but comes back in with a Frankensteiner that sends Kazarian to the floor and Lethal follows him out with a dive as we get our weekly hype for Dixie Carter’s Twitter account. Lethal whips Kazarian to the corner and follows him in with a dropkick, but Ric Flair comes down to ringside and distracts Lethal, allowing Kazarian to hit a running knee to the back and fire in several vicious shots in the corner. Kazarian with a slam and a springboard legdrop and stops to share a laugh with Flair. Lethal escapes a suplex attempt and fires in several shots of his own and comes off the ropes with a flying forearm. Lethal with a moonsault out of the corner for 2, Kazarian counters with a chinbreaker, but Lethal with another leg lariat and then goes for the figure four, stalls for time while doing his Flair impersonation for way too long to make it believable, and finally locks it in. Flair is up on the apron yelling at Kazarian to get to the ropes and Kazarian makes it and forces the break. Flair is happy and Lethal goes over to Flair and gets piefaced, so Lethal decks him in the face, allowing Kazarian to roll him up from behind with a handful of tights for the win.

    Winner: Frankie Kazarian

Flair comes in the ring and puts the boots to Lethal and lays him out with a chop, then removes his shirt to reveal the Herculean Flair Physique. Flair continues the beating in the corner as Kazarian is down writhing in pain in the corner, and finally Lethal starts firing back on a guy nearly three times as old as he is, and Flair does the Flop, then does his backdrop out of the corner, and finally gets clotheslined over the top to the floor. Cue AJ Styles, who finally runs in and beats the crap out of Jay Lethal, but Kazarian shoves him out of the way and now Kazarian and AJ get in each other’s face arguing over which of them gets to beat up Lethal, but Lethal now uses a distraction to his advantage, dropkicking both guys to the floor. Now Flair gets in AJ’s face on the ramp over his interference in the incident, and Flair takes Kazarian and walks out on AJ.

Still to come, RVD calls out Sting and AJ Styles takes on Ken Anderson! But wait a minute…Shannon Moore has been laid out in the back and…there’s a playing card on his back! What could this mean?

We now go to a video package recapping the recent events in the Desmond Wolfe-Abyss feud, leading into last week when Desmond attacked Abyss with a broken bottle, but Abyss came back and beat him up anyway before carrying Chelsea off.

And now, let’s go back to the ring for…oh man…

    Orlando Jordan vs Abyss

This week, Jordan has pasties of Abyss’ face on his nipples. Okay. Abyss is accompanied to the ring by his new second, Chelsea, and she does not look at all happy. Lockup and Jordan goes after the arm, but Abyss pulls it away and instead goes to an arm wringer on Jordan. Jordan rolls through to a wristlock of his own and starts firing elbows into the arm. Abyss lays in a series of shots and then YANKS THE PASTIES OFF! What a heel. HUGE f’ing backdrop on Jordan, but Abyss misses a charge in the corner and Jordan goes back to work on the arm, not only beating on it but biting it as well. Jordan rips the bandage off and continues attacking the arm, now dropping knees on it as well. Jordan goes up top and hits Old School on the arm of Abyss, stops to pose for the crowd, then covers for 2. Jordan misses an elbowdrop on the arm then runs right into a big boot. Abyss with a Choo Choo in the corner and goes for a chokeslam, but Jordan escapes by raking the arm. Jordan tries a leapfrog but Abyss catches him very suggestively and hits an Ocean Cyclone Suplex for 2, then clotheslines Jordan over the top to the floor. Jordan escapes a slam attempt and shoves Abyss into Chelsea, who gets completely wiped out. Abyss is very upset over this turn of events and stops briefly to beat up Jordan and ram him into the ringpost before going to check on Chelsea, but Desmond Wolfe comes out of nowhere to nail Abyss with a pipe to draw the DQ.

    Winner: Abyss by DQ

Desmond tosses Abyss back into the ring and he and Jordan put the boots to Abyss but Rob Terry comes thundering out and cleans house on both Desmond and Jordan, and Desmond bails, so Terry kills Jordan with a spinebuster and looks constipated as Abyss goes to check on Chelsea again and carry her lifeless form to the back in a scene reminiscent of Hulk Hogan carrying Elizabeth to the back on Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The World Champion, Rob Van Dam, is backstage, and he’s…WALKING! And he calls out Sting, next!

We’re back, and we see a video package recapping the RVD-Sting feud, and then we go to the ring with Rob Van Dam, who says that Sting has his title shot, and that’s what he wanted…right? RVD is well aware of Sting’s iconic status, but RVD has a few accomplishments of his own, and it’s funny that their paths have never crossed before, but they’re crossing at Slammiversary, and if Sting comes to the ring now, he’ll give Sting a preview of what to expect at Slammiversary. Sting’s music hits, and out comes…no, actually he doesn’t. Instead, we see the video of the incident a couple of months ago when Sting beat the crap out of RVD for like 15 minutes. Now we go to Sting up in the rafters, and he says that was just a small taste of what to expect, and at Slammiversary, it’ll be showtime and Sting’s going to take the TNA World Title.

We go to the Crappy Cam, as Hulk Hogan is telling Ken Anderson that he’s put himself in a tought spot because everyone hates him, and Anderson admits that he’s been an asshole, but Hogan tells him that he sees money when he looks at Anderson, but if he keeps doing what he’s doing he’s never going to make it around here. Anderson insists that when he extended his hand to Hardy, he meant it, and he’s been doing some serious soul searching, and he just wants Hogan to watch what he does tonight against AJ and let his actions speak for him.

We go to Mike and Taz, who are joined by Puppet The Psycho Dwarf, owner of the midget wrestling program that SpikeTV is going to be airing in the near future. From there we go backstage to Christy with Roxxi, who scored a non-title win over Madison Rayne last week. Roxxi is excited to be back, but it’s a little familiar because she was back on New Year’s Eve but she broke her ankle. But now she’s back and she’s ready for whatever TNA has for her. Christy gives her the good news that because she beat Madison Rayne last week, she’s going to challenge Madison for the Knockouts Title at Slammiversary. And speaking of Knockouts titles…

Knockouts Tag Team Title Match: Velvet Sky & Lacey Von Erich vs Sarita & Taylor Wilde

Sarita and Velvet start, Sarita with a go behind but Velvet reverses to an overhook hiptoss. Sarita mocks her with a little dance then rolls her up for 2, then tags in Taylor who hits a rolling senton for 2. Taylor with a blind tag and a boot to the face of Velvet then sweeps the legs and a double team elbowdrop followed by a three quarter nelson by Sarita for 2. Taylor tags back in and hits a running dropkick to the face of Velvet for 2, but Lacey nails her from the outside and tags herself in. Velvet and Lacey ram Taylor into the corner and hit a double clothesline and Lacey with the clawslam on Taylor for the most demoralizing loss in Taylor Wilde’s career.

    Winners: The Beautiful People

Puppet leaves the broadcast booth and runs into the ring with the Beautiful People and they all start dancing with him…until he runs over and slaps Velvet on the ass. Suddenly the mood changes and Velvet slaps him and Madison DDTs him, and then they stomp the hell out of him while Lacey just stands there and looks confused. She goes to check on him, but it was just a ruse, as Puppet suckers her into a big liplock…and Lacey likes it! They start rolling around in the middle of the ring making out as Velvet stands on the ramp looking disgusted.

We go to the Crappy Cam, as Jeff Hardy says he’s got a little experience in the European style, but tonight’s going to be his first time in the ring with Desmond Wolfe. And we’re at commercial!

We’re back, and Kurt Angle’s going to join us at the broadcast booth for our next match, and he’s looking a lot healthier than he has in a while. He’s here to scout the Top Ten Rankings in our next match…

    Desmond Wolfe vs Jeff Hardy

Desmond opens up right away with a headbutt to the midsection and a European Uppercut, then takes Hardy down with a shoulderblock. They do a fast paced sequence that ends with Hardy getting a rollup for 2. Wolfe with another European Uppercut and the boot to the back/forearm to the chest combo in the corner for 2. Hardy with a back spinkick and a dropkick in the corner and Wolfe bails to the floor, but Hardy with a pendulum dropkick and a slingshot crossbody over the top to the floor on Desmond. Hardy turns his back to play to the fans, so Desmond nails him from behind and then rolls him back in the ring. Wolfe covers Hardy for 2, but Hardy escapes and gets a short clothesline for 2. Hardy goes for the Twist Of Fate but Wolfe counters to a snap armwhip for 2. Wolfe puts Hardy up top and goes for the Tower Of London, Hardy escapes, but Wolfe with the running European Uppercut in the corner. Wolfe goes for a lariat, Hardy ducks it but Wolfe with a hammerlock Divorce Court for 2. Hardy comes back with a headscissors and a clothesline and then goes for the Whisper In The Wind, but accidentally nails the ref. Hardy with the Twist Of Fate but there’s no ref, so Wolfe grabs a sock full of quarters out of his tights and nails Hardy with it for the upset win!

    Winner: Desmond Wolfe

After a commercial break, we’re back in the ring with Matt Morgan, who says that first they get jumped by Samoa Joe, then they get robbed of their tag title by Hall & Nash, and now they need to find a new partner to face Hall & Nash at Slammiversary for the title he felt he never lost. He says they’re going to turn this negative into a positive because he believes in opportunities and making stars here in TNA, so he’s going to grant an open invitation to anyone who wants to be 1/2 of the tag champs alongside them at Slammiversary. He calls out the little bald guy in the back (meaning Kurt Angle) and tells him to come on down to the ring. Angle obliges, so Morgan asks him if he wants to be a star and one half of the tag champs. Angle says he’s not a little bald guy, and secondly, the last time they were in this ring he pinned Morgan’s ass. Morgan likes guys with a sense of humor, so he’s going to ask him again if he wants to be their partner at Slammiversary, but before Angle can answer, Morgan nails him and says “Not.” Angle comes after him and security drags Angle off, and while Morgan stands there mocking Angle, Samoa Joe comes stalking down to the ring and goes after Morgan, who bails out to the floor with a big smile on his face. Morgan says he’s not going to get the answer he’s looking for tonight, so as of now, the Blueprint is off the clock. Samoa Joe turns around and has a staredown with Kurt Angle, but Angle walks away before it gets physical.

We go to Mike and Taz, who inform us of some title matches that have been signed for Slammiversary: Douglas Williams defends the X-Division Title against Brian Kendrick, The Band defends the tag title against Matt Morgan and a partner, and of course, RVD defends the TNA World Title against Sting.

    It’s main event time!

    AJ Styles vs Ken Anderson

The bell rings and we’re off. AJ dances around Anderson, but Anderson doesn’t look impressed. AJ and Anderson tie up and fight for control. Anderson takes AJ to the corner and breaks clean as AJ gives him a bemused look. AJ takes a side headlock, Anderson tries to send him to the ropes but AJ keeps the headlock. Anderson reverses to a headlock of his own and AJ tries to escape, but Anderson keeps the headlock. AJ goes for a suplex, but Anderson keeps the headlock and takes AJ down with it. Anderson gets a 1 count off the headlock, but AJ gets the shoulder up and catches Anderson in a headscissors. Anderson rolls through and goes back to the headlock. AJ crossfaces Anderson and goes back to the headscissors, but Anderson kicks out and gets caught back in a headlock by AJ. Anderson rolls AJ to his back for a 2 count and AJ releases the headlock and they both get to their feet and start exchanging blows. Anderson with a boot and goes back to the headlock and they do a fast exchange that ends with AJ hitting a sweet dropkick for 2. Anderson fires away with a series of rights, but AJ with a boot to the gut and a leapfrog, but Anderson catches him and hits a Finlay Roll for 2. AJ goes to the eyes and hits an enziguiri for 2, then starts pounding away on Anderson and chokes him with his boot. AJ with a snapmare and we HIT THE CHINLOCK! Anderson fights his way out and comes off the ropes with a crossbody, but AJ rolls through and uses both the ropes and the tights to get the win.

    Winner: AJ Styles

Solid WRESTLING match to close the show. I like it. Anderson has a smirk on his face as he calls for his mic to drop, and he tells AJ that he got him, and the coolest thing was that AJ got him at his own game. AJ claims a totally clean win, and Anderson asks his assholes if AJ pulled his tights, and the crowd chants “YES HE DID!” so Anderson agrees with the assholes and attacks AJ and starts stomping a mudhole in him. Beer Money runs in and attacks Anderson and now it’s a 3-on-1, but Jeff Hardy’s music hits and Hardy comes running out with a chair and the heels bail. Anderson and Hardy back up into each other and have an uncomfortable faceoff, but Hardy extends the hand and Anderson shakes it, and we’re off the air.

Rarely used Knockout avoids getting cut?
Posted by Mark Virginia on 05/29/2010 at 04:46 PM

Infrequently seen TNA Knockout Hamada was recently in danger of being released but scored a reprieve from management due to the shortage of female wrestling created by Lisa Marie Varon's departure from the organization, as well as injuries suffered by Angelina Love and Daffney. Talk of cutting Hamada led to much head scratching amongst the wrestlers as she's considered the best worker in the Knockouts division.

Zack Ryder def. Evan Bourne (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Zack Ryder must have found some time in his busy tanning schedule to scout Evan Bourne, because The Long Island Loudmouth looked prepared for his opponent going into tonight’s main event. Although the insanely athletic Raw Superstar attacked Ryder early with a devastating mix of martial arts strikes and aerial maneuvers, the cocky young competitor managed to escape Bourne’s Shooting Star Press. With the high-flyer stunned, Ryder seized the opportunity and nailed the Zack Attack for the 1-2-3.

Yoshi Tatsu def. Primo (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Few Superstars have been as successful in 2010 as Yoshi Tatsu. Since making the move to Raw, the Japanese Superstar has defeated nearly every opponent that has been placed in front of him and tonight was no different. Going against Primo, Tatsu displayed his awe-inspiring offense, nailing a series of flying kicks on his way to a big win.

Cody Rhodes def. JTG (PHOTOS | WATCH)
A week after picking up a victory over the physically imposing Chris Masters on “WWE Superstars,” Cody Rhodes continued to impress on Thursday nights. Going up against the explosive JTG, the second-generation Superstar proved that he was raised to compete in the ring. Showing off his natural ability, Rhodes grounded JTG and controlled the action. Even when the Brooklyn Superstar nailed a dropkick that sent Rhodes to the outside, the Georgia native kept his composure. In the end, a trip to the Cross Rhodes sealed JTG’s fate and gave the former World Tag Team Champion the victory.

Latest on Batista leaving WWE; will he return?
Posted by Chris Kaufman on 05/26/2010 at 04:59 PM

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

According to Dave Meltzer, Batista's contract with WWE expires at the end of the month and he is finished with WWE for the time being. He was originally scheduled to do house shows for several more weeks, but after suffering a back and tailbone injury at Over The Limit, did his final segment for the company on RAW this past Monday.

People within WWE expect him to be back sooner than later. Most feel, at the latest, he'll be back early next year in time for Wrestlemania. At 41 years old, it's believed that he'll be back since he knows he won't have other opportunities to make the kind of money he makes in WWE.

There is talk about him doing MMA, but most feel that won't go anywhere.

Carlito's dad comments on his son's release

Carlito's dad comments on his son's release
Posted by Chris Kaufman on 05/25/2010 at 01:17 AM

On the heels of the release of Carlito from WWE last week, his father, Carlos Colon, Sr., has broken his silence about the situation by revealing that Carlito had in fact been abusing painkillers. The pills were used at first to cure debilitating back pain that Carlito was suffering from, but his use then spiraled into abuse. Here is a bit of what Colon had to say:

"I want to clarify that Carly was not suspended for using cocaine, or heroin or marijuana, but for the abuse of painkillers, which is not unusual because they cause pain falls and blows, combined with the constant traveling. Carly started using one or two for his back pain, but it seems that the situation has become much more serious and needs help."

Colon then went on to state that the majority of Carlito's back pain came from his execution of his patented Backstabber finishing maneuver, which required him to always endure the brunt of the weight of wrestlers weighing anywhere between 200-300 pounds. Carlito never sought medical attention for his back pains, which caused him to inevitably rely on painkillers.

details over de aanvallers van the hart dynasty

    xxxxxxx
Details on the Hart Dynasty's attackers from RAW

The woman who attacked Natalya on tonight's RAW was Sarona Snuka, daughter of Jimmy Snuka. Sarona is known as Tamina in WWE developmental. The male wrestlers with her were Jimmy and Jules Uso, the sons of former WWE star Rikishi.

The Uso brothers and Tamina laid out The Hart Dynasty and all three hit top rope splashes, ala Jimmy Snuka, on the fallen Harts.

The three have worked with G-Rilla as a Samoan stable in WWE developmental for some time now and have received rave reviews, particularly the Uso brothers tag team. It looks like they are now on the RAW roster.

R-Truth & David “A-List” Otunga def. Christian & Heath Slater
    Justin Gabriel def. Wade Barrett

CLEVELAND – The results of the semi-finals week Pros’ Poll were revealed and the top three NXT Rookies have been determined. Either Wade Barrett, David “A-List” Otunga or Justin Gabriel will win WWE NXT during next week’s season finale!

The Pros’ Poll was revealed and Heath Slater is eliminated (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The WWE Pros’ Poll revealed the NXT Rookie Rankings for the semi-finals, and this week, Heath Slater was eliminated. While Slater’s WWE Pro, Christian, said he thought the cards were stacked against Slater from the start, he predicts Slater still has a big future ahead of him. On the other hand, The Miz said the “One-man Rock Band” didn’t have enough passion and heart.

“You never showed us the ‘wow.’ You never let loose. You never gave us your all,” The Miz said. “Sometimes you were good. Sometimes you were off. You can never be off in WWE.”

Before departing, Slater pointed out that he was the first NXT Rookie to win a challenge and beat a WWE Pro. He also defeated six-time World Champion Chris Jericho. Slater promised this isn’t the last the WWE Universe has seen of him.

“Pros, you might have pulled the plug on the ‘One-man Rock Band,’ but ladies and gentlemen, get ready for the encore because I’m about to blow your mind!”

The semi-finals week Pros’ Poll results were as follows:
    1. Wade Barrett
    2. David “A-List” Otunga
    3. Justin Gabriel
    4. Heath Slater

Next week is the season finale of WWE NXT and just three NXT Rookies remain – Wade Barrett, David “A-List” Otunga and Justin Gabriel. Who will achieve his dream of becoming WWE’s next breakout Superstar and earn a championship match at a WWE pay-per-view? Tune in to WWE NXT Tuesday night at 10/9 CT on Syfy.

Justin Gabriel def. Wade Barrett (PHOTOS | WATCH)
After Michael Cole’s explosive confrontation with Daniel Bryan, the announcer was replaced with NXT host Matt Striker at the announce table, who joined Josh Mathews as Justin Gabriel took on fellow NXT Rookie Wade Barrett. Hoping to make an impact on the WWE Pros before the final Pros’ Poll, Gabriel earned an impressive victory over Barrett after hitting the bareknuckle British brawler with an astonishing 450 Splash. Gabriel upped his record to 7-3, while Barrett’s dropped to 7-5.

Michael Cole asked Daniel Bryan to apologize (PHOTOS | WATCH)
On Monday Night Raw, announcer Michael Cole gave eliminated NXT Rookie Daniel Bryan an ultimatum – apologize for the previous week’s attack, or he’ll sue him. On WWE NXT, while surrounded by personal security guards, a traumatized Cole called out Daniel Bryan and offered him the chance to publicly apologize or else he’ll take him to court on the advice of his team of attorneys. Daniel Bryan did shake Cole’s hand and began to say he’s sorry, but his words soon twisted.

“I’m sorry. … I’m sorry that you are by far the worst announcer in WWE history,” Daniel Bryan said with conviction.

Cole told Daniel Bryan that he tapped out of the WWE NXT competition because he is a loser with no heart. Then, the emotional announcer slapped Bryan and ran from the ring behind his security guards. Daniel Bryan chased down Cole and a brawl erupted. After Daniel Bryan was pulled off a distraught Cole, he retreated up the ramp where he was further taunted by his WWE Pro, The Miz. Daniel Bryan reacted by attacking The Miz and another brawl erupted as Cole yelled from ringside that Daniel Bryan is a “maniac.”

R-Truth & David “A-List” Otunga def. Christian & Heath Slater (PHOTOS | WATCH)
WWE Pro R-Truth brought his newly-acquired United States Championship to WWE NXT Tuesday night where he teamed with his NXT Rookie, David “A-List” Otunga. The pair – who hasn’t always seen eye-to-eye in the past – put their differences aside to earn a win over WWE Pro Christian & NXT Rookie Heath Slater. Otunga was certainly playing Slater’s tune, as the A-Lister reversed the “One-man Rock Band’s” roll up and pinned him for the win. With this semi-finals victory, Otunga’s record increased to 6-4, while Slater’s fell to 5-6.

The NXT Rookies told the WWE Pros who should be eliminated (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The final four NXT Rookies tried to make a last-minute impact on the impending Pros’ Poll during semi-finals week. In an effort to influence the WWE Pros – minus a noticeably missing CM Punk, whose head was shaved bald at Sunday’s Over the Limit – each NXT Rookie told them who they thought should be eliminated and why.

    Batista Training For MMA Career

WWE superstar Batista, who is parting ways with the wrestling promotion, is training for a possible career in Mixed Martial Arts.

WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross commented in his blog at JRsBarBQ.com about the news that Batista would be following in Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley’s footsteps. He wrote:

“I’ve heard some rumblings that when Batista gets healthy that he might try his hand in the MMA world. This rumor is FAR from official but I do know that Batista has been doing some MMA training and has a bona fide interest in the genre,” Ross said.

He added, “This would be a huge challenge for Batista if he indeed attempts to compete in MMA at a high level which, again, is not a done deal.”

Here is video of Dave Batista training at the Affliction Training Center:

Randy Orton def. Batista in a Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match by Forfeit
Sheamus def. Mark Henry in a Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match
Maryse & Alicia Fox def. Divas Champion Eve & Gail Kim
R-Truth def. The Miz in a United States Championship Match
Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty def. William Regal & Vladimir Kozlov
Edge def. WWE Champion John Cena and Chris Jericho in a Non-Title Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match

TOLEDO, Ohio – While special guest host Jon Lovitz enjoys success as a comedian, a movie star and a former member of Saturday Night Live, the brutal qualifying matches and one shocking departure that went down inside Toledo's Huntington Center were no laughing matter.

Edge def. WWE Champion John Cena and Chris Jericho in a Non-Title Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
It was a do-or-die moment for both Edge and Chris Jericho. In their Triple Threat Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match with John Cena, if either Edge or Jericho were to win, they would move on to the WWE Championship Fatal 4-Way Match next month. If The Champ were to prevail, however, neither Superstar would be eligible.

Knowing how much hung in the balance, The Ultimate Opportunist seized an opening by dropping Jericho with a Spear and covering him for the victory.

As he celebrated, the night’s other qualifiers, Sheamus and Randy Orton, made their presence felt, leaving all four Fatal 4-Way competitors staring down one another in a preview of mayhem to come.

Ashton Kutcher to act as special guest host next week
Ashton Kutcher, star of the romantic comedy Killers, also starring Katherine Heigl, will drop by next week to tackle the role of Raw’s special guest host. A longtime member of the WWE Universe, Kutcher promises to bring the funny to Monday night.

Unified Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty def. William Regal & Vladimir Kozlov; mystery team attacked (PHOTOS | WATCH)
One night after successfully defending their Unified Tag Team Titles, The Hart Dynasty continued their momentum by defeating the team of William Regal & Vladimir Kozlov. After pinning the Englishman for the win, Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith & Natalya found themselves ambushed by a mystery trio, including two men and one woman.

Special guest host Jon Lovitz conducted “WWE Superstar Search” (PHOTOS | WATCH)
The movie star and Saturday Night Live alum hosted a “WWE Superstar Search.” The search began when The Great Khali was joined by Ranjin Singh for a milk-curdling rendition of Taco’s classic hit, “Putting on the Ritz.” Next up, before Jillian Hall could even begin her cat-trapped-in-a-kettle singing, Lovitz cut her off. For the final act, a contestant stepped forward from the crowd with a bizarre talent that involved dislodging his eyeball.

Afterward, Ted DiBiase, accompanied by Virgil, angled to purchase the “eye-popping” orb. When Santino interfered, however, DiBiase nailed him with Dream Street and left the Italian nursing his wounds.

R-Truth def. The Miz in a United States Championship Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Poor, Miz. He probably thought his precious United States Title had found its way home. After all, new Raw GM Bret Hart had abdicated the championship to take on his new role and offered The Miz an opportunity to reclaim the honor by pitting him against R-Truth in a U.S. Title Match. Sadly for “The Cleveland Screamer,” Truth was what was up when he bested Miz to become the new U.S. Champion.

Maryse & Alicia Fox def. Divas Champion Eve & Gail Kim (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Maryse was in no mood. After failing to capture the Divas Title from Eve at Over the Limit, the big-headed blond was steamed. She teamed with Alicia Fox against Eve & Gail Kim. Just as the Divas Champion was poised to pin Maryse, Alicia pounced and nailed Eve while the referee was distracted. The punishment allowed the French Canadian to hit a DDT and cover Eve for the victory.

Raw GM Bret Hart arranged John Cena vs. Edge vs. Chris Jericho in a Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match
For the third and final Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match of the night, Raw’s new General Manager, Bret Hart, announced that the Superstars competing would be WWE Champ John Cena, Chris Jericho and Edge in a Triple Threat Match. If either Edge or Jericho win, they will qualify, but, if Cena emerges victorious, neither The Rated-R Superstar or Mr. Vocabulary will make the cut.

Sheamus def. Mark Henry in a Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
In the second Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match of the evening, Mark Henry proved why he’s earned the muscular moniker, The World’s Strongest Man. Henry appeared to be dominating his opponent, Sheamus. But, as if preparing a hearty Irish stew, The Celtic Warrior slowly stirred the pot and eventually offering some kick at the end to pull off the win and qualify for the WWE Championship Fatal 4-Way Match.

Bret Hart took over as new Raw GM; Fatal 4-Way qualifying matches announced; Batista quit WWE (PHOTOS | WATCH)
One night after losing an “I Quit” Match to WWE Champion John Cena at Over the Limit, Batista wasn’t in shape to do much of anything – except whine. The Superstar was helped to the ring to complain about his loss the night before and to demand another rematch. His rant was cut short, however, by Raw’s new General Manager Bret Hart.

The WWE Hall of Famer announced a series of qualifying matches for next month’s brand new Fatal 4-Way pay-per-view, at which Cena will defend his title in a Fatal 4-Way Match. The first qualifier announced was Batista against Randy Orton, but when The Animal refused, he automatically forfeited the match.

An enraged Batista went ballistic, screaming at Hart before finally telling the WWE Universe, “I quit!” The Animal was then assisted from the ring and eventually from the arena.

Ric Flair talks about coming out of retirement

Ric Flair talks about coming out of retirement
Posted by Mark Virginia on 05/24/2010 at 10:50 AM

Ric Flair recently spoke to Minnesota's Duluth News Tribune to promote an upcoming TNA live event in the region. Here are some highlights of what the Nature Boy said about:

Retiring At WrestleMania 24: "I don’t know what I thought at the time. Remember that it was WWE that decided to retire Ric Flair. Obviously it was very emotional for myself, Shawn, and my fans. It is not easy to do this for as long as I have and then all of a sudden quit because the company you work for tells you to. I’m not bashing WWE as I have great respect for the group. I believe that the whole set up was beautiful and they did a great job with the hall of fame ceremony and the goodbye on Raw afterward. But I am not ready to sit at home and build a garden. I feel great, I work hard, and I am ready to keep going."

Coming Out Of Retirement: "The athlete in question is the only person that truly knows if they are ready to retire. No one else .. The only one that truly will know the right time to stop is myself .. I was provided a unique opportunity and had a blast going to Australia. I feel I have a lot more to offer and that is what I am doing. I love TNA and feel that they have the right tools to be something huge. I am having just as much fun now as I did in the ’80s and that is saying something."

Shawn Michaels' Retirement: "I think Shawn definitely wants to be a family man and be home with his wife. I do, however, feel that he will have a return match at a pay per view sometime down the line."

Mr. Anderson Celebrates Randy Orton's Arm Injury

As seen at WWE's Over The Limit pay-per-view, Randy Orton suffered an apparent shoulder injury during his bout with Edge. Commenting on Orton's injury, TNA star Ken Anderson, formerly known as Mr. Kennedy in WWE, wrote the following on his Twitter account (http://twitter.com/secondpower):

"I have one thing to say: Kharma is a M**********R!!

"And it couldn't have happened... To a NICER GUY!!

Orton reportedly had WWE officials release Anderson after dropping him on his shoulder last year during a match on RAW. The two had been former friends.

WWE fired Carlito yesterday for an alleged Wellness Program violation and subsequent refusal to enter rehab. The report on WWE.com noted that his termination followed a first violation of the program. However, WWE sources indicate that Carlito did not fail a drug test but instead was fired after he arrived at Monday’s RAW in Toronto and management felt that he was unfit to perform. According to Dave Meltzer, everything went down on Monday and drug test results wouldn't have been available at the time Carlito's release was announced.

With Beth Phoenix out of action due to injury, there are a lot of people in the company who regret them releasing Mickie James. As reported yesterday, there is talk of bringing Gail Kim to Smackdown or hiring a new babyface Diva that can actually wrestle for the Smackdown brand.

    bLIJFT MYSTERIO BIJ WWE?

Mysterio staying with WWE despite recent issues?
Posted by Chris Kaufman on 05/19/2010 at 06:08 PM

    Credit: F4WOnline.com

Whatever issues Rey Mysterio had with WWE seem to longer exist as he seems happy with his current position. His knee is still bothering him but right now he isn't planning to take any time off.

Stories going around about Rey's contract expiring soon aren't true as he has almost five years left on his deal. There is a clause in his contract that would allow him to retire as an in-ring competitor in less than five years, if his body isn't up in good enough shape to continue. If that were to happen, WWE would retain his in-ring rights.

Big Show def. Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre by Disqualification

OTTAWA, Canada – With WWE preparing to go Over the Limit this Sunday, Big Show continued to make life difficult for World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger. After Big Show caused him to lose a match with Kofi Kingston, the No. 1 contender to the World Title repelled “The All-American American’s” steel chair attack later in the main event with his gigantic fist of fury.

Big Show def. Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre by Disqualification (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Seconds after Big Show chokeslammed Drew McIntyre, Jack Swagger attacked The World’s Largest Athlete, giving Big Show a non-title victory over the “Chosen One” by disqualification. Swagger then delivered a post-match onslaught, stomping on his gigantic adversary’s powerful right hand. But, when he tried to utilize a steel chair against his Over the Limit challenger, Big Show punched it out of his hands with epic force.

Will Jack Swagger successfully defend his World Title in two days against an irate giant? (Match preview)

Rey Mysterio & MVP def. CM Punk & Luke Gallows(PHOTOS | WATCH)
Two days before he will face Rey Mysterio at Over the Limit, CM Punk inducted three members of the WWE Universe into The Straight Edge Society. Following the pledge, the new inductees had their heads shaved to show their devotion in actions as well as words.

Mysterio then emerged, putting a quick end to the festivities when he revealed a doctored photo of The Straight Edge “savior” with his head shaved bald. The Straight Edge Society took out their frustration by attacking their new members and knocking them from the ring. (PHOTOS | WATCH)

Later, Mysterio teamed with MVP to take on The Second City Saint and his “sin-free soldier” Luke Gallows. As The Master of the 619 attempted to dial up his favorite maneuver on Punk, the hooded stranger – who had attacked Mysterio on three separate occasions – once again emerged out of nowhere. This time, The Ultimate Underdog proved ready for the surprise. After attacking the anonymous assailant with absolute fury and ramming him into the steel ring post, Mysterio used his supreme athletic ability to counter Punk and pick up the quick pin.

Will Mysterio’s mock image of Punk’s bald head become reality this Sunday? Or will The Masked Superstar be forced to take the Straight Edge Pledge?  (Match preview)

Dolph Ziglger attacked Christian on the “Peep Show” (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Christian opted to reject Official Consultant to SmackDown Vickie Guerrero’s “generous” offer to be the guest on his first “Peep Show” since he returned to Friday nights several weeks again. Instead, Captain Charisma welcomed special guest Hornswoggle and proceeded to teach him some important Canadian terminology. But when Vickie and Chavo Guerrero entered the arena, their distraction allowed Dolph Ziggler to attack Christian from behind and execute the Zig Zag. Chavo then followed it up with the frog splash off the top rope.

Kofi Kingston def. World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger in a Non-Title Match (PHOTOS | WATCH)
Last week, Jack Swagger’s life-long collection of trophies and awards were destroyed by his Over the Limit No. 1 contender, Big Show. Also last week, Kingston defeated Christian to seemingly become Intercontinental Champion – only to have the title taken away from him by SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long via orders from Mr. McMahon in a hand-delivered letter by Drew McIntyre.

In the extremely explosive match, “The All-American American” was overcome by Kofi Kingston, who surprised him with a flying cross-body off the top rope after Big Show provided an effective verbal distraction.

Curt Hawkins & Vance Archer def. local competitors(PHOTOS | WATCH)
Looking to make an a immediate impact with just 22 days left in their limited, 30-day contract with SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long, Vance Archer & Curt Hawkins proved victorious on the wings of Hawkins’ devastating elbow drop off the top rope.

JTG def. Caylen Croft (PHOTOS | WATCH)
JTG absolutely ignited the WWE Universe with his fast-paced offense and “back to the block” attitude, reigning supreme over one half of The Dude Busters with the Shout Out.

Women’s Champion Layla & Michelle McCool def. Kelly Kelly & Tiffany  (PHOTOS | WATCH)
One week after Layla pinned Beth Phoenix in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match to win the Women’s Championship, she and Michelle came to the ring wearing matching Women’s Titles, as the “self-professed” co-Women’s Champions. Despite a very effective offense by Kelly Kelly & Tiffany, Team Lay-Cool ultimately triumphed after Michelle turned the tables on Tiffany with an earth-shattering Faithbreaker out of nowhere.

Awesome Kong talks about TNA's new Knockout

Awesome Kong talks about TNA's new Knockout

Former TNA Knockout Awesome Kong joined the Women of Wrestling podcast with hosts Stew Allen and Lee Burton this week.

On Betsy Ruth and comparisons between them, she says: "She [Betsy] is a lovely person, lovely girl. She has great skill. Just because we are of the same build and do some of the same moves... You could have that comparison with a lot of the girls who are thinner, smaller and blonde or brunette who are on TNA's roster or any roster in wrestling. There aren't that many of us full figured [female] wrestlers around so I guess that's why people are quick to compare. I think she's going to do a phenomenal job and I hope that the writers give her great support."

Speaking on comparisons between Betsy and Kong perhaps setting Betsy up for failure, she says: "I hope she doesn't. When people make comparisons, it does set people up for failure. Judge her for what she does. Hopefully they have her character, not as an imitation of Kong, but as what she's been doing and what she's been cultivating. And if I were ever to come back, then maybe we could have an awesome feud or a tag. We are two different entities and I'm pretty sure they'll showcase her strengths and they'll be different from mine."
