Sting says he almost signed with WWE last year Posted by Corbin Nordhoff on 02/04/2012 at 06:32 PM
From cnykiss.com:
"Big Poppa" Gary Spears from Kiss-FM recently spoke with Sting. Here are some highlights from the interview:
Wrestlers he'd like to face that he hasn't yet: "I'd have to say the top one... Undertaker. I think wrestling fans have wanted to see Sting vs. Undertaker for years. I think between his gimmick and mine, it could be pretty cool. We could do some pretty cool stuff."
If he regrets never going to WWE: "Yes and no. Who wouldn't want to say that they've done at least one WrestleMania? I'm not going to lie to you, I wish I had done one of those. I've had great conversations with him [Vince McMahon] over the years and been real close on three or four different occasions. There was always a need met or desire of mine met with WCW or with TNA, so I stayed."
The last time he almost jumped to WWE: "Last year... we were very, very close."
With the recent success and signs that the show could already be deemed an instant hit, it seems we could very well be in for more Ring Ka King. According to a tweet by TNA and Ring Ka King founder Jeff Jarrett, there could be more Ring Ka King content on its way very soon. Jarrett posted the following on his official twitter account alluding to this saying:
"#RingKaKing! Saturday...now, some studio time for future #RingKaKing! shows...super excited..."
Four Wrestlers Removed From FCW Website FCWWrestling.info, the official website of WWE developmental league Florida Championship Wrestling, has removed four talents from their roster page:
* Calvin Raines
* Leroy Parks
* Marcus Owens
* Peter Orlov
Removal from the FCW roster page is generally a sign that said talent has been released from his or her developmental contract with WWE.
Calvin Raines, who formerly competed as Pat Brink for Maryland Championship Wrestling, signed on with WWE again in 2010 after being released the previous year in a disciplinary measure. He competed in his one and only WWE last month in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, tag teaming with Drew McIntyre against Ezekiel Jackson and Trent Barreta.
Little is publicly known of Leroy Parks, a 6'3", 310 pound wrestler who donned blue overalls and was billed from Lester, Alabama. He sparingly competed for Florida Championship Wrestling after signing a developmental contract last year.
Marcus Owens got a second shot with WWE in 2010 after being released the previous year but was infrequently used.
Peter Orlov earned international acclaim while competing as Alex Koslov in Mexico, ultimately leading to a developmental contract with WWE in 2010 in spite of his relatively small staturebilled at 5'9" and 190 pounds. Though Orlov regularly competed for Florida Championship Wrestling, he frequently lost.
Cruiserweights Show In Development For WWE Network
One of the new shows being developed for the upcoming WWE Network will exclusively feature Cruiserweight wrestlers, according to a report by pwinsider.com.
WWE has been scouring the independent scene looking for talents weighting around 200 pounds that will be featured on the new show.
We reported several weeks ago that WWE held a pilot TV taping at Florida's Sunlife University back in December for an undisclosed project. WWE reportedly love the feel of the building and is looking to film the new cruiserweight show there.
As of this week, the plan is still for WWE to launch the Network this fall.

SmackDown results: Wade Barrett feels the sting of The Viper; Mark Henry suspended By: Michael Burdick February 3, 2012 Tags: SmackDown: February 3, 2012
OMAHA, Neb. In the wake of the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton lit-up the Barrett Barrage in a grueling No Disqualification main event, while Mark Henry got himself suspended and AJ stopped a major Big Show offensive on World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan.
Randy Orton def. Wade Barrett in a No Disqualification Match (WATCH | PHOTOS) In a knockdown, drag-out No Disqualification slug fest, bitter rivals Randy Orton and Wade Barrett turned everything in their reach from chairs and a table to the steel ring steps into excruciating implements of destruction. In the end, The Viper finally triumphed over his English adversary with back-to-back RKOs, executing the second one onto a steel chair.
Then, upon hearing the news that he will face WWEs Apex Predator next Friday night, World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan rushed to the ring, defying the ever-present intimidation of The Viper by engaging in a victory lap of sorts raising his arms and shouting his own praise.
Divas Champion Beth Phoenix & Natalya def Aksana & Tamina (WATCH | PHOTOS) Prior to their Divas Tag Team Match, Natalya and Beth were warming up when the former involuntarily passed gas for the second week in a row. (WATCH)
Once the action got underway, The Glamazon opted to tag herself in, ordering Natalya "out of her ring" before delivering the Glam Slam on Aksana for the pin. Moments later, The Fabulous Firebird walked out of the squared circle without her tag team partner. Natalya regrouped, trying to initiate a post-match assault on the fallen Aksana, but Tamina came to the rescue. Dropping her adversary with a powerful kick, "The Warrior Princess" once again delivered an earth-shattering splash off the top rope. AJ stops Big Show from hitting the WMD on World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan (WATCH | PHOTOS) Singing his own praises about beating Big Show and Mark Henry at the 2012 Royal Rumble, the self-declared role model Daniel Bryan preached to the Omaha members of the WWE Universe about the benefits of becoming Vegan. However, when he called for The Worlds Largest Athlete to be removed from the SmackDown Elimination Chamber Match on Feb. 19, Bryan quickly found himself face-to-face with the subject of his scorn.
After the provoked giant hit the chokeslam on his arrogant foe, a neck brace wearing AJ came to the ring. In spite of the Diva's presence, Big Show looked ready to follow-up with the WMD on Bryan. However, the injured Divas grabbed his fist, causing him to hesitate long enough for her boyfriend to get to safety. WWE Tag Team Champion Primo & Epico def. Santino Marella & Hacksaw Jim Duggan (WATCH | PHOTOS) Five days after returning to compete in the Royal Rumble Match last Sunday, WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan teamed with Assistant to the General Manager Santino Marella to take on Primo & Epico. As Duggan chased Epico out of the ring, The Italian Stallion prepared to unleash the Cobra. But, at the last minute, Rosa blew a kiss to the snake-wielding Superstar, allowing Primo to hit the Backstabber for the victory over Santin-Ho!
Justin Gabriel vs. Hunico ends in a No Contest (WATCH | PHOTOS) Furious over losing to Sheamus, Cody Rhodes stuck around for the following match, attacking Justin Gabriel from behind as the high-flyer's opponent Hunico was emerging with Camacho. When the opportunistic amigos decided to join the Intercontinental Champion in his onslaught, it drew the ire of the returning Great Khali. Though Rhodes would escape the giant Superstar's wrath, the other two Superstars were not so lucky. In the end, Hunico suffered the Punjabi Plunge.
Later, Khali would be named as the final participant in the SmackDown Elimination Chamber Match. (MATCH PREVIEW)
Sheamus def. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes in a Non-title Match (WATCH PHOTOS) In a fierce battle between The Celtic Warrior and the Intercontinental Champion, Sheamus pulled a new move out of his powerful arsenal, hurling Rhodes backward to the canvas with extraordinary force for the huge non-title victory. SmackDown Elimination Chamber Participants named; Mark Henry Suspended (WATCH | PHOTOS) General Manager Theodore Long got things rolling by informing the WWE Universe which Superstars would appear in the SmackDown Elimination Chamber Match at the pay-per-view of the same name on Feb.19. World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan would defend against Wade Barrett, Big Show, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. (MATCH PREVIEW)
Although Mark Henry was also slated to be in the match, that all changed moments later when The Worlds Strongest Man demanded that Teddy Long take him out of the Chamber and instead give him a one-on-one World Title Match that very night. As a result of the confrontation, Teddy did take Henry out of the Elimination Chamber leaving his spot vacant but denied the second part of his forceful request. When Henry chose to put his hands on the SmackDown leader, he quickly found himself suspensed indefinitely."
As the enraged former World Heavyweight Champion grabbed Teddy by the tie, Sheamus emerged, stomping the massive grapplers aggression with a Brogue Kick. After the 2012 Royal Rumble Match winner informed the SmackDown GM that he would wait to declare which World Champion he would challenge until after WWE Elimination Chamber, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes decided to interrupt. This led Teddy to make a match between them. MATCHES

Bobby Roode Interview: Talks Hogan, Flair, Inspirations, Beer Money And More
Earlier today South Carolina's Pee Dee SportsCenter talks sports radio segment featured TNA Wrestler Bobby Roode. Below is the full audio of the segment and text recap.
How he got into wrestling: "I was a huge fan as a kid growing up. I grew up in Canada so i was born and bred as a hockey player. I was always a big wrestling fan. When people asked me what i wanted to be when i grow up i would just answer that i wanted to be a professional athlete. I had a friend who was in the business and he offered to take me in and train me. Show me the ropes you can say. It started from there, it got in my blood. Paid my dues and I'm here now."
Who he grew up watching as a kid: "When i was a kid, before i even thought about getting into wrestling, the only guys i got to see were Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, King Kong Bundy. Of course, I am a hulkamaniac. Until i got into an older age in order to study it. I am a big fan of "Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig", i modeled my career after him. I thought he was one of the best in the world really. He was a great wrestler, great entertainer, awesome performer."
Regarding Ric Flair: "I didn't get to see alot of him (Flair) when i was a kid but now that I'im in the business, i got to meet Ric and got to travel with him. It's one of those things, surreal. Ric was super nice to me, he kind of took me under his wing and when we started Fourtune with AJ Styles, James Storm and Kazarian he was our manager and would come out with us to ringside. We did alot of backstage promos with Ric. He really really helped us alot. He was our mentor. When i got a chance to go up against Ric, It was a real honor for me."
How Beer Money formed: "It was an interesting time for me and James, we both just got out of different tag teams. We had a bit of a singles run, at the time we were spinning our wheels basically. There was an idea to put us as a tag team for one night. The chemistry was there and we kind of clicked. There was a match with us against LAX (Homicide and Hernandez). We did a backstage promo where James said "We both have everything that makes the world go 'round; Beer and Money." That was the name of our tag team. We became an overnight success. "
Whether Roode would ever return to tag team wrestling: "Who knows. In this business you have to kind of live for the moment. When we both first got into this business we were in it to be world champions. Maybe one day when the time is right we can reestablish Beer Money. But the time isn't right."

Kane assault at Royal Rumble sends Zack Ryder to local medical facility
Kane assault at Royal Rumble sends Zack Ryder to local medical facility ST. LOUIS After Kane brutalized John Cena in their match at the 25th anniversary of the Royal Rumble event (FULL STORY), The Big Red Monster set his sights on an already-injured and wheelchair-bound Zack Ryder, hitting him with a devastating tombstone piledriver.
Following the assault, Ryder was rushed to a nearby St. Louis trauma center.
The most worrisome aspect of that move [the tombstone piledriver] is a compression force to the cervical spine that does have the potential to fracture several vertebrae and render serious injury, according to WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann.
Weve taken him to the hospital as a precautionary measure, at which point in time well get cervical spine X-rays and most likely a CAT scan to make sure thats theres been no significant damage, said Amann.
The attack comes less than a week after Kane chokeslammed Ryder through an arena stage and sent him to the hospital with a herniated disc (FULL STORY).
