TNA Impact Wrestling Peoria, IL (Peoria Civic Center) June 27, 2013 Commentators: Mike Tenay & Taz Report by: Josh Boutwell of Wrestleview.com
Impact opens up with highlights from last week and then Tenay & Taz run the card for tonight down at ringside.
Main Event Mafias music hits and Sting heads out to the ring alone. I am not feeling the new MEM music at all. Sting says he told Bully Ray that Main Event Mafia would rise and it would grow, and he promised what Bully experienced last week is just a little touch of what is to come. Sting introduces Kurt Angle and he comes down to the ring to join his MEM brethren.
Angle says what we are looking at right now are two of the originals from the Main Event Mafia. He says the whole concept behind MEM was that each member had to be a former World Heavyweight Champion, and they fought for power and the title. He says they did what they wanted and when they wanted and nobody could stop them, but unfortunately that description seems to describe Aces & Eights. He says that Aces & Eights have been more violent and vicious than anyone in TNA has ever been, and because of A&8 Sting will never be able to wrestle for the World Title again. He says because of A&8 he was screwed out of the BFG Series among other things they did to him. Angle says real family stick together as he and Sting look at each other. He says this is the new and improved Main Event Mafia. He says that they are both Hall of Famers but that doesnt mean a thing until they accomplish two goals: destroy A&8 and make sure Bully Ray losses the World Title! Angle says they will fight fire with fire and everyone will meet the newest member of the family.
A highlight package from the Ultimate X Match at Slammiversary is shown. Sabin says the X-Division Title is his ticket to the World Title which makes it mean more than anything hes done in his career.
Sabin is shown walking backstage when DOC grabs him from behind. He drags Sabin over to Bully Ray and slams him against the wall. Bully tells Sabin to relax and says he just wants to wish him luck in his match tonight. He says he hopes that Sabin wins and does great, and then he hopes he does the right thing when he retains. Bully says the right thing is to NOT cash in his title for a shot at the World Title. Bully says Sabin is a great little X-Division wrestler but Bully is a bad person and Sabin doesnt want any part of that. DOC & Mr. Anderson release Sabin and Bully wishes him luck and to be careful with those knees.
----COMMERCIAL BREAK----
A massive guy is shown warming up backstage for Gut Check named Adam Ohriner. A video package hyping up is shown and he talks about is short experience in wrestling (less than 2 years). This guy is massive and I believe he is the Big O that was featured on Zack Ryders internet shows back a couple of years ago. I believe he was trained by former ECW World Champion Mikey Whipwreck.
TNA X-Division Championship Triple Threat Match Chris Sabin (c) vs. Suicide vs. Kenny King
This is a rematch from Slammiversary minus the Ultimate X setup. The trio surround each other but then King pokes Sabin in the eyes before kicking Suicide. King goes back and forth between hitting Suicide & King. He attempts to whip King into the corner but Suicide reverses it and then charges at King only to run into a back elbow. King kicks Sabin and then climbs up top and dives off right into a Double Dropkick from Suicide & Sabin! Sabin gets Suicide in a waisltock but Suicide counter into a side headlock. Sabin shoves Suicide into the corner but Suicide floats over into a Headscissors attempt, but Sabin blocks it and tosses Suicide over the top rope. Suicide lands on the apron and then King comes flying in with a Flying Knee that sends Sabin into Suicide knocking Suicide down to the floor! King covers Sabin and gets a nearfall. He then puts the boots to Sabin and then hits an Atomic Drop followed by a Spinning Enziguri! Suicide dives off the top with a Missile Dropkick to King! Suicide whips King into the ropes and King does Suicides spot where he goes through the ropes but hangs onto them hanging in the air. Suicide dropkicks King sending him to the floor and then he dives off the apron with a Somersault Senton onto King on the floor! Sabin then hits a Slingshot Dropkick through the ropes knocking Suicide into the guardrail. Sabin then dives over the top with a Slingshot Plancha onto both King & Suicide on the floor!
----COMMERCIAL BREAK----
Back from the break Sabin puts King up on the top rope and then sidesteps a charging Suicide sending him crashing into the turnbuckles. Sabin then hangs King up in the tree of woe on top of Suicide. Sabin then hits the Hesitation Dropkick to both of them in the corner! Sabin covers King and gets another nearfall. Sabin goes for the Cradle Shock but Suicide pulls King off of Sabins shoulders and then sends Sabin into the turnbuckles with the Snapmare Driver! 1 2 NO Sabin kicks out! Suicide climbs up top but King crotches him up top and then climbs up with him. Sabin shoves King off the top and then goes for a Superplex on Suicide, but King stops him and then we have the TOWER OF DOOM! King covers Sabin, 1 2 NO he kicks out! King covers Sabin again and again only gets a nearfall. King goes for the Royal Flush but Sabin blocks it and then dropkicks Suicide out to the floor. Sabin goes for a rollup on King but he holds onto the ropes and then turns around and swings at Sabin. Sabin ducks and then hits an Enziguri! Sabin hits the Hail Sabin! 1 2 NO Suicide breaks it up with a dropkick and then tosses Sabin out to the floor. Suicide goes for his finish but King blocks it with back elbows and then hits the Cartwheel Kick! King chokes Suicide in the corner and then whips him into the opposite corner. King charges at him but Suicide floats up and over him and then connects with a Spinning Back Kick! Suicide rolls King up, 1 2 NO King kicks out! King comes back with a Jawbreaker and then a Front Kick. King goes for the Royal Flush but Suicide counters into a rollup! 1 2 3!
Winner & NEW X-Champ: Suicide via pinfall (rollup)
Sabin cant believe it as Suicide celebrates with the title. The replay shows Suicide holding onto the ropes as the referee makes the 3 count.
Hulk Hogans music interrupts Suicides celebration and Hogan comes walking out with someone limping. That looks like TJ Perkins. Hogan confirms that it is in fact TJ Perkins and says hes one of the toughest and hardest working guys in the back. Hogan says for years hes busted his ass in the ring to put food on his table and he is the real Suicide until tonight when someone jumped him in the back and stole his gear. Hogan says he wants to know whos under the mask right now, but Suicide bails out of the ring and through the crowd.
----COMMERCIAL BREAK----
A replay of the confusion situation that just went down is shown. In the back Hogan says he doesnt care who it was or where he went, hes giving whoever it was until the end of the night to come out and show his face.
Backstage Ryan Howe is warming up. The video package hyping up is shown where he talks about being a musician and wrestler. He is the boyfriend of Jessie Belle Smothers (Tracy Smothers daughter) and I believe he was a part of WWE Tough Enough back in 2011. I saw him live last year at an Indy show and I must say I was less than impressed.
Gut Check Challenge Ryan Howe vs. Adam Ohriner
Howe actually plays his guitar out to the ring. I dont know if he was air guitaring it or not but it at least sounded and looked like he was really playing. Taz calls him Van Hammer, good lord. They lockup and the bigger Adam forces Howe into the corner before tossing him across the ring. Howe comes back with a rollup but Adam rolls through and then hits a Gutwrench Suplex for a one count. Adam whips Howe hard into the turnbuckles and then connects with a Powerslam for another nearfall. Adam beats on Howe with some sloppy right hands. Adam whips Howe into the corner and then charges at him but Howe catches him with a back elbow. Howe then springs to the top and dives off with a Flying Cross Body, but either Howe didnt jump far enough or Adam was too far out because Howe landed almost squarely on Adams knees. That could have ended badly. 1 2 NO Adam kicks out and then Howe nails Adam with a series of forearms. Adam responds with a big clotheslines for a nearfall. Adam tosses Howe in the corner and hits a series of shoulder blocks and then goes for a Splash, but Howe moves out of the way and then hits a series of forearms followed by a Corkscrew Elbow. Howe hits a dropkick and then a heel kick for a nearfall. Howe goes for a suplex but Adam blocks it and shoves him into the ropes. Adam goes for a backdrop but Howe drops down to his knees and hits an uppercut. Howe hits the ropes but runs into a Powerslam for the pin to painfully end this match.
Winner: Ohriner via pinfall (Powerslam)
In the back Sting & Angle are discussing the new MEM member. They walk into a room as Sting says theyll be better off this go around.
----COMMERCIAL BREAK----
The BFG Series Standings are shown, no changes yet of course. Two BFG Series Matches are tonight though.
Backstage Bully Ray approaches TJ Perkins and tells him hes a hell of a little wrestler and he has a bright future. Bully asks if Kurt & Sting put him up to this tonight but TJ says he doesnt know what happened. Bully asks if TJ if hes positive that Sting & Kurt didnt put him up to this, but TJ says hes been working on the opportunity of a lifetime and he got jumped and it taken away from him. TJ stands up and says he can assure Bully that it was very real. Bully says MEM are trying to play mind games but TJ says he doesnt know who jumped him. TJ starts to walk away but Bully stops him and then says NOW you can leave.
A recap of the Velvet/Mickie feud is shown.

TNA Knockouts Championship Hardcore Country Mickie James (c) vs. Velvet Sky
Velvet is wearing houndstooth on her skirt, which gets a BIG Roll Tide from me! Before the match Mickie sarcastically apologizes to Velvet again, and she says the title can change people like it changed Velvet. She says that when Velvet was champion they were best friends and now that Mickie is champion they arent friends anymore which breaks her heart. She says that she still cares about Velvet and her health so she will give her one last chance to walk away. Mickie says the people dont want to see her get hurt and Mickie definitely doesnt want to see that. Mickie tells her to do the right thing and dont be the $3 stubborn pack mule that she is. Velvet goes for the In Yo Face but Mickie shoves her into the corner. Velvet comes back with an attempt at the Spinning Headscissors again but Mickie blocks it and then knees Velvet in the injured leg. Mickie then puts Velvet in an inside Deathlock/Crossface at the same time in a modified Bow & Arrow. Velvet taps as she screams in pain.
Winner & STILL KO Champ: Mickie via submission (Deathlock/Crossface Bow & Arrow)
Christy Hemme interviews Velvet at ringside as the fans chant you tapped out at her. Velvet cries and says she thought her knee was okay and she fought so hard to finally get her rematch only to lose. She says shes heartbroken and she cant talk anymore.
----COMMERCIAL BREAK----
In the back Hogan talks to the referee for the X-Division Match and asks him if he noticed anything different about Suicide that could tell him who it was under the mask. The referee says he couldnt tell anything different at all.
BFG Series Match The IT Factor Bobby Roode vs. Magnus
I dont believe these two have ever faced each other one-on-one but they were part of a great Beer Money-British Invasion feud several years ago. Roode and Magnus lockup and they brawl into the corner before breaking clean. They lockup again but this time Roode gets Magnus in a wristlock and transitions into a hammerlock. Magnus counters into a wristlock of his own but Roode counters right back and sweeps Magnus legs. Magnus counters into a Hammerlock but Roode is able to roll through and counter into a side headlock. Magnus shoves Magnus off but Roode runs him over with a shoulder block. Roode hits the ropes but runs into a High Knee from Magnus for a nearfall. Magnus goes for the Texas Cloverleaf but Roode quickly gets to the ropes and slides out of the ring. Roode trips Magnus and pulls him to the outside. Magnus decks Roode and then slams him into the apron before tossing him back into the ring. As Magnus rolls back in Roode kicks him and then slams him into the turnbuckles. Roode puts the boots to Magnus and then chops him hard. Roode hangs Magnus up in the ropes and then catapults him throat first into the middle rope! Roode rolls back to the floor and slams Magnus head into the apron. Roode then slams him elbow down across the throat of Magnus before rolling back in the ring and hitting a Hangmans Neckbreaker for a nearfall. Roode gets a nearfall and then puts Magnus in a chinlock. Magnus fights back with body shots and then they exchange right hands. Magnus hits a Back Suplex and then connects with a series of clotheslines. Magnus whips Roode into the ropes and goes for a backdrop, but Roode kicks him and then hits the ropes but Magnus is right behind him with a Lariat! Magnus charges at Roode in the corner but he gets his boots up and then dives off the top with a Cross Body, but Magnus catches him in midair and transitions into the Tormentum! Magnus climbs up top but Roode catches him with a right hand and then climbs up with Magnus. Roode goes for a Superplex but Magnus shoves him off and then dives off with the Flying Elbow Drop! 1 2 NO Roode kicks out! Magnus attempts to whip Roode into the corner but Roode reverses it and then charges at the Brit. Magnus catches him with an elbow and then charges at Roode but runs into the Double-R Spinebuster! Roode talks trash to the crowd and then sets up for the Payoff but Magnus blocks it and hits the MDD! 1 2 3!
Winner: Magnus via pinfall (MDD)
Tenay puts over how big of an upset that was and calls it the biggest win of Magnus career.
----COMMERCIAL BREAK----
Backstage Aces & Eights approach members of the TNA roster and interrogate them about being Suicide. Chavo, Robbie E, & Jesse say they arent Suicide and Bully says if he finds out its any of them they just committed career suicide. Bully tells Jesse he might want to lay off the carbs and Robbie says hes right bro.
James Storm & Gunner are in the ring. Storm says that people claim that Tag Team Wrestling is a science but looking at he and Gunner they sure as hell dont look like scientists. Storm says he has been called a chemist due to his mixing of liquids (alcohol). He says that one thing hes learned from being a 12-time Tag Team Champion you dont have to like your partner, as long as you show up to work and watch each others backs then youre good to go which is why he chose Gunner to be his partner. Storm says he knows there are a lot of tough guys in the back but before he can say anything else The Shores music hits and they come down to the ring along with Tara.
Robbie says Gunner & Storm really think theyre tough but Robbie & Jesse are the two toughest guys in the locker room. Robbie says he knows Gunner has tattoos and drinks beers with Storm but picking him over Robbie was a big mistake bro! Robbie says its too late to look back because this train has already sailed down the road which causes Storm & Gunner to laugh about the analogy. Robbie says he & Jesse are the future of tag team wrestling and calls themselves The Bromance.
Storm laughs and asks him if he really just said Bromance and asks Robbie if they are a thing now. Robbie says he didnt say that, he said they are the Bro-Mans. Jesse tells Storm to shutup and says they have a hot chick, Tara with them. Storm says Tara is what they call a butter face (everything is hot but her face). A butter face chant starts and Jesse attempts to defend her honor only to get knocked out by Gunner. Storm tells Gunner he didnt have to knock the guy out as The Bromance leaves.
In the back Sting & Angle talk about the new member of MEM and says maybe they should go talk to the mystery man behind the Suicide mask too.
----COMMERCIAL BREAK----
Main Event BFG Series Match Samoan Submission Machine Samoa vs. Mr. Anderson
Anderson decides to go solo tonight without any A&8 backup. They lockup and Joe forces Anderson in the corner but releases clean before locking up again. Again they brawl into the corner but this time Anderson knees Joe in the gut and then nails him with a series of rights. Joe answers back with chops and jabs that send Anderson reeling to the corner. Joe beats Anderson down in the corner with nasty strikes. He then whips Anderson into the opposite corner and hits a Running Back Elbow followed by a Leaping Enziguri for a nearfall. Joe lights Anderson up with a chop and then he charges at Anderson but Anderson sidesteps Joe and drop toe holds him into the turnbuckles as a Green Bay sucks chant starts. Anderson tosses Joe out to the floor and kicks him in the ribs. Anderson slams Joe into the apron and then hits him with an uppercut before tossing him back into the ring for a nearfall. Anderson puts Joe in an armbar but Joe fights it off with forearms and then he tosses Anderson into the ropes. Joe goes for a clothesline but Anderson counters into a Swinging Neckbreaker for another nearfall. Anderson chops Joe and then attempts to whip him into the corner, but Joe reverses it and runs at Anderson only to run right into a boot. Anderson then climbs up top and dives off right into an Atomic Drop from Joe! Joe follows up with a Mafia Kick and then a Backsplash Senton! 1 2 NO Anderson kicks out! Joe lifts Anderson up in the air with a backdrop but then members of A&8 run out and surround the ring! The distraction allows Anderson to hit a DDT! 1 2 NO Joe kicks out! Anderson hits the ropes but Joe catches him with a Snap Powerslam! Sting and Angle run down and jump DOC & Knux! They chase A&8 off and in the ring Anderson attempts the Mic Check but Joe blocks it by holding onto the ropes and then locks in the Coquina Clutch for the submission!
Winner: Joe via submission (Coquina Clutch)
After the match Sting & Angle hug Joe and it looks like we have a new MEM member! Joe holds up the M symbol as the MEM music hits!
----COMMERCIAL BREAK----
In the back Angle & Sting welcome Joe into the MEM and present him with a suit. Angle says youre gonna like the way you look and Sting replies with and I guarantee it. Nice Mens Warehouse reference.
Hulk Hogan comes out to the ring and he says tonight was supposed to be about who the X-Division Champion is and if they would roll the dice in a World Title shot, but now they have a mystery to solve. Hogan says whoever is under the Suicide mask need to get out here right now or hes going to strip him of the belt.
The fake Suicide comes down to the ring and Hogan says he understands when opportunities come your way you take advantage of them, but this thing isnt about cheating. He says he wants to know who is under the mask right now. Suicide refuses to take the mask off and Hogan starts to strip him of the belt but Bully Ray comes down to the ring to interrupt them.
Ray says for the first time in a long time they are actually on the same page about something. Ray says he wants to know whos under that mask too and he tells Suicide to take the mask off now. A Take it off chant starts but again Suicide just shakes his head. Ray says that doesnt even matter and he says the only thing that matters is if he cashes in that belt for a shot at the World Title. Ray says the only reason he even won the X-Division Title was because he put the fear of God in Chris Sabin. Ray tells Suicide to do himself a favor and walk away because he doesnt want any piece of him because he is a bad person that does bad things. He tells Suicide to put his tail between his legs and leave.
Hogan tells Suicide to take the mask off now but Suicide finally speaks and says he was in darkness and he felt the pain. Whoever it is behind the mask is disguising his voice somehow. He says in life we are given choices or options, the easy thing or the right thing and raises the X-Division Title up. Suicide says Bully Ray always comes out and asks the people if they know who he is, but the real question is does Bully know who Suicide is. He says he should because he is a man that has beaten him once again. He pulls the mask off revealing it to be AUSTIN ARIES! Aries says hes the man that cashed in that belt and won the World Title before and hes the man that is going to do it again! Bully Ray looks like hes seen a ghost as Aries smiles!

Scheduled for Next Week: -Ladder Match: Gail Kim vs. Taryn Terrell
The mention of Barclay is obviously a reference to the Barclays Center, which will host WWE Raw for the first time on 7/15.
What is interesting about that comment is that in asking around to TNA sources this evening, PWInsider confirmed that Taz's current deal with the company is set to expire in just a few weeks. TNA is running Brooklyn on 7/5, but Taz did not specifically reference that date or venue, MCU Field, at all - instead cryptically making a reference to the Monday Night Raw taping.
Thanks for fourm member The P1 for the tip!
UPDATE: Taz has removed his Twitter comment making a cryptic reference to next month's WWE Raw taping in Brooklyn, NY.
One source contacted PWInsider.com stating that Taz's final contracted appearance for the promotion could be as soon as this Saturday's TNA Impact Wrestling taping in Las Vegas, which will tape episodes airing on 7/4 and 7/11.
Adam Ohriner whor refers to himself as "The Big O" will be facing off in this week's gutcheck match against Ryan Howe. Adam first caught the eye of the TNA Staff when he attended a gut check in Fayetteville. With an affinity for the spotlight and his love for being on camera, Adam went into wrestling school with no prior training or background in the sport. Two years later Adam's dreams will either come true or be put in check by the judges of TNA Gut Check. Watch IMPACT WRESTLING every Thursday night at 9/8c on Spike TV.
Randy Orton's Twitter bericht over The Punt Kick:"@randyorton so @WWE ban your punt kick but let @VivaDelRio kick people in the head? whats the difference? Bring back the Punt Kick!!!!!"
- The recent Ring of Honor TV tapings and internet pay-per-view were the last scheduled appearances for The Briscoe Brothers. It's worth noting that Jay currently holds the ROH World Title. There is talk within ROH that the brothers are "headed for greener pastures" which could mean a WWE developmental deal. At the same time, there is some talk that they're just on hiatus but it looks like they're leaving the company.
The 1048th edition of WWE Monday Night RAW came to you, live, from the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, SC. After two one-on-one matches that ended in controversy on last weeks RAW and SmackDown, respectively, the third match in the series would take place on RAW as The Viper Randy Orton would go one-on-one with Daniel Bryan. Last weeks RAW concluded in shocking fashion as The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar made an unexpected return with the sole purpose of leaving CM Punk lying in the center of the ring with a thunderous F-5, but a lot of questions remain regarding the attack. What is the explanation behind this confrontation between the two Paul Heyman Guys? Does the apparent dissention between CM Punk and Paul Heyman have anything to do with Lesnars re-emergence? In one of the biggest shams in WWE history, The Worlds Strongest Man Mark Henry faked his own retirement on last weeks RAW in order to lure WWE Champion John Cena in and plant the champion with the Worlds Strongest Slam! How will John Cena respond to Mark Henrys actions?

Detailed Results
After losing to Randy Orton on last weeks RAW due to the referee stopping the match and defeating Orton via count-out on SmackDown, RAW kicks off with Daniel Bryan, who says that some people have said that he has some sort of complex. Bryan says that he has been questioned throughout his career as people have asked him if he is really a wrestler because of his size and, from day one, people have thought that he is the weak link. Bryan continues, saying that those people are morons and he will not be satisfied until he either pins Randy Orton or makes him submit in the middle of the ring, something he vows to do tonight! Bryan is then interrupted by his opponent, Randy Orton, who tells Bryan to shut up and fight! This sparks a brawl between Orton and Bryan before the referee is able to separate the adversaries long enough to start the match.
With Randy Orton at one victory over Daniel Bryan via referee stoppage and Daniel Bryan at one victory via count-out, it was time for the rubber match as Daniel Bryan would go one-on-one with The Apex Predator Randy Orton in the opening match of the night. From the opening bell, both Superstars would completely disregard the rules as Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan would brawl in and out of the ring with Bryan tossing Orton over the announce table, but when Daniel Bryan leaps at Randy Orton with a knee, Bryan catches Orton, but also catches the referee, which prompts the double disqualification as the referee is no longer able to control the match! However, Orton and Bryan could not care less about the match being over as the fight continues until a slew of referees rush out, finally separating the two of them.
Backstage, an enraged Daniel Bryan confronts RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero and her assistant, Brad Maddox, livid over the double disqualification ruling in his match against Randy Orton. Bryan demands that he get a rematch with Orton and he get it tonight, but Brad Maddox chimes in, saying that Bryan has already had his match and there is no room for a rematch on tonights show. Bryan then changes his tune slightly, demanding that he either get a rematch against Randy Orton tonight or he gets a match against Brad Maddox! Vickie wastes no time in agreeing with Bryan, saying that Bryan will get his rematch with Randy Orton! After Daniel Bryan exits, the Managing Supervisor is confronted by WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon, who tells Vickie that some people think that Daniel Bryan is a downright embarrassment, but when Vickie asks the Chairman what he thinks of Daniel Bryan, McMahon says he will let her figure that out.
Amidst his rivalry with Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow, Sheamus would enlist the assistance of Christian as The Celtic Warrior would team with Captain Charisma to face Team Rhodes Scholars in tag team action. In the end, it was Sheamus blasting Cody Rhodes with the Brogue Kick en route to picking up the win for himself and Christian.
Backstage, RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero confronts CM Punk, but Punk asks if Paul Heyman or Brock Lesnar is in the building and Vickie says that she has not seen them. Vickie then tries to inform Punk that he has a match tonight, but Punk is only interested Heyman and Lesnar, telling Vickie to let him know when either or both of them arrive.
The Divas were in action on RAW as Kaitlyn, with Layla in her corner, would go one-on-one with Aksana. During the match, however, Divas Champion AJ Lee would come out to Kaitlyns music, wearing a ridiculous muscle suit. The attempt to distract Kaitlyn would ultimately fail as Kaitlyn would kick out of a roll-up by Aksana, plowing Aksana with the Spear en route to picking up the win. After the match, AJ Lee would do her best to impersonate Kaitlyn, saying that, not only did she lose the Divas Title, but she also lost her dignity when she was embarrassed by the ruse of a secret admirer. In a replay of what happened to Kaitlyn a few weeks ago, Big E. Langston comes out with flowers in hand, saying it was him all along and telling the faux Kaitlyn that she was the one all along. The faux Kaitlyn says that she has always dreamed of finding a man with a voice as deep as hers and an Adams apple like hers, as well. As Layla holds Kaitlyn back, the fake Kaitlyn says that she will never regain the Divas Title, so she will just continue being the butt of AJs jokes.
It was announced during RAW that former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler has been cleared to compete and The Show-Off will challenge new champion Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship in three weeks at Money-in-the-Bank!
After his match against Alberto Del Rio ended in a disqualification, thanks to involvement from Dolph Ziggler, the rematch would take place on RAW as six-time former World Champion Chris Jericho goes one-on-one with World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio, with Ricardo Rodriguez in his corner, in a non-title match. In the middle of an incredible match, Chris Jericho would have Alberto Del Rio dead to rights in the Walls of Jericho, but Ricardo Rodriguez would jump in the ring, blasting Jericho in the back of the head with his metal bucket, resulting in a disqualification win for Jericho. After the match, Dolph Ziggler rushes the ring, pummeling Del Rio while Jericho hits the Codebreaker on Ricardo Rodriguez! This leads to a face-to-face confrontation between Jericho and Ziggler, but the moment that Jericho turns his back to Dolph, Ziggler hits the Zig Zag on Y2J!
Backstage, WWE COO Triple H confronts Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox, saying that he heard a rumor that Vickie was thinking of cancelling the match between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton. Vickie says that she agrees with Mr. McMahon that Daniel Bryan is an embarrassment to the WWE, but the COO says that he does not agree with that theory about Daniel Bryan. The COO continues, saying that the only opinion that matters is that of the WWE fans and they want to see the match between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. Triple H then convinces Vickie to allow the fans to pick the stipulation for the match, as well, before telling Vickie that, if she just listens to him, she will be fine. Before exiting, Triple H compliments Brad Maddox on his shirt, asking if it comes in mens sizes too.
In the ring with Vickie Guerrero & Brad Maddox, Hall of Famer Jerry The King Lawler would unveil the cover of the new WWE 2K14 video game, which will be out this fall. Before unveiling the cover, Lawler reveals a special contest where the fans will design and create their own cover that will be on the flipside of the front cover of the game! RAW Managing Supervisor Vickie Guerrero then says that she will take it from there and, barely audible over the chorus of boos from the crowd, Vickie Guerrero announces that the fans will use the WWE App to pick either a Street Fight, a Lumberjack Match, or a Falls Count Anywhere Match for the match between Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan later in the evening. Vickie continues, saying that she created her own cover for the WWE 2K14 video game, showing her own cover for the game, which features Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, & Mr. McMahon on the cover! In the end, it was Ryback hoisting the giant up and dropping him with Shell Shocked en route to picking up the win.
After being the victim of the grand retirement ruse perpetrated by Mark Henry last week, the WWE Champion would respond to Mark Henrys sham as John Cena makes an appearance on RAW. Cena says that, of the countless men who have challenged for it, only 43 Superstars have actually held the WWE Championship, an elite accomplishment that earns respect. Cena continues, saying that he has seen men do whatever it takes to get a shot at the WWE Title and, last week, they saw how low a man will sink to get a title shot. The WWE Champion says that Mark Henry disgraced his family and cheated the WWE fans and his speech was an utter disaster to men who have had to retire in the ring, such as Edge, Shawn Michaels, and The Nature Boy Ric Flair. Cena continues, saying that Mark Henry made a mockery of all of those men, but he understands why. Cena explains that Mark Henry believes that he will not have a legacy in the WWE if he does not have a run with the WWE Title, but Henry will have to go through him to get it. The WWE Champion says that Mark Henry has to earn the WWE Title and the only thing he has earned is the right to have his teeth knocked down his throat and, at Money-in-the-Bank, Mark Henry will discover what he and the fans already know, shouting that our time is now and the champ is here!
New #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles would be determined on RAW as Tons of Funk, Brodus Clay & Tensai, 3MB members Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre, and Jimmy & Jey Uso would collide in a Triple Threat Tag Match with the winning team getting a future shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles, currently held by two-thirds of The Shield, Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns. In the end, it was Jimmy Uso hitting a huge Samoan Drop on Tensai before Jey Uso follows it up with the Superfly Splash, pinning Tensai to pick up the win for Jimmy & Jey Uso, who become the new #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles! After the match, The Shield comes out to stare down their new challengers.
Last week on RAW, Brock Lesnar made a surprise return, where he laid CM Punk out with the F-5 and, on RAW, Paul Heyman would address the WWE fans regarding his involvement with his two guys getting physical in the ring. Heyman says that he has willfully ignored CM Punks attempts to contact him over the past week because he wanted to give Punk his explanation face-to-face. Heyman then calls Punk to the ring and The Best in the World complies, making his way to the ring to confront his former manager and supposed friend. Punk says that he should catch the fans up on why exactly he is a Paul Heyman guy, explaining that he was signed to the WWE in 2005 after generating considerable buzz for himself on the independent circuit. Punk continues, saying that the then Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, John Laurinaitis, saw fit to send Punk to WWEs developmental territory in Louisville, KY. Punk says that, at the time, Paul Heyman was in charge of WWEs developmental territory and Heyman was set up to fail as Heyman was frequently sent emails by upper management, including Vince McMahon, telling Heyman to let Punk go. However, Heyman refused to fire him and, when ECW was resurrected in 2006, Heyman picked Punk to be a part of the ECW roster. Punk then gets in Heymans face, telling Heyman to tell Brock Lesnar that he is coming for Brock Lesnar and he does not care if Brock is bigger than him because he is better than Lesnar. Punk continues, saying that Brock does not have the balls to hear it from him, so he will tell Heyman as Punk says that he will bring Heymans beast incarnate down!
CM Punk then addresses Paul Heyman, saying that Heyman had never done him wrong in the past before flat out asking Heyman if Brock Lesnar attacked Punk on his own or if Heyman sent Lesnar out there last week. Punk tells Heyman not to lie to him and tells Heyman to swear on the lives of his children that he is telling the truth, shouting at Heyman to tell the truth for the first time in his life! Heyman tells the seething CM Punk that, since they are best friends, Punk deserves to hear the truth before swearing on his childrens lives that he had no idea that Brock Lesnar was going to attack Punk last week! Heyman reminds Punk and the world that Lesnars contractual obligations were finished after Extreme Rules, saying the moment that Punk said that Brock needed Heymans help, Punk picked a fight with Brock Lesnar. Heyman continues, saying that the clash has been coming for a long time due to professional jealousy existing between Punk and Lesnar, saying that is the reason that he has never proposed a tag team between Punk and Lesnar because he kept the two of them apart due to the jealousy between the two of them. Heyman says that he accepts himself for who he is and he knows that he will accompany Punk again one day, telling Punk that he loves CM Punk and he is his best friend and he will never represent anyone that goes against CM Punk and that includes Brock Lesnar, admitting that Lesnar will have a problem with that, but thats between him and Lesnar. Heyman then says that his fate is in Punks hands, telling Punk that it is his move. Punk thinks it over before telling Heyman that he is sorry that he doubted him, hugging his best friend!
Despite his emotional state, The Best in the World CM Punk would go one-on-one with Darren Young, with Titus ONeil in his corner, on RAW. After the match, Titus ONeil would rush the ring and The Prime Time Players would overwhelm CM Punk, but Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel rushes out, actually helping Punk to fight off The Prime Time Players as Paul Heyman watches from ringside! Backstage, Stephanie McMahon confronts Vickie Guerrero, asking why the Managing Supervisor has not announced the participants for the WWE Championship Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match. Vickie admits that she has been too busy and it must have slipped her mind, but Stephanie tells Vickie not to worry about it, saying that she will handle the announcement.
WWE Executive Vice President Stephanie McMahon then makes an appearance, saying that it is that time of the year where Superstars look to climb a ladder and become Mr. Money-in-the-Bank, earning them a guaranteed title shot. Stephanie then announces the participants in the WWE Championship Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match as The Best in the World CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, The Celtic Warrior Sheamus, The Viper Randy Orton, The Big Red Monster Kane, Captain Charisma Christian, and the returning Whole Damn Show himself, Rob Van Dam! Which one of these seven former World Champions, four of them former Money-in-the-Bank winners, will earn a guaranteed shot at the WWE Championship come Money-in-the-Bank?
Backstage, Ryback confronts Vickie Guerrero & Brad Maddox, saying that he deserves better and demanding that he get a rematch against John Cena for the WWE Title at Money-in-the-Bank. However, Chris Jericho interrupts, saying that he deserves to be in the WWE Championship Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match, but Ryback says that he could eat Jericho alive. Jericho and Ryback then go face-to-face, leading to Vickie Guerrero making a one-on-one match between Ryback and Jericho for Money-in-the-Bank!
Backstage, CM Punk confronts Paul Heyman, saying that he does not need Heymans help and Heyman argues that he fixed the problem, saying that he talked to Vickie Guerrero and got her to agree to a tag team match next week where the team of CM Punk and Curtis Axel will face The Prime Time Players! Punk says that he will take the match because he wants a piece of The Prime Time Players, but he will prove to Heyman and everyone else that he does not need Heymans help. Punk then vows to win Money-in-the-Bank and regain the WWE Title all on his own.
After the massive retirement ruse last week, The Worlds Strongest Man Mark Henry appears on RAW, saying that he fooled every single one of the fans and he made them cry and chant his name. Henry then claims that he has been nominated for an Academy Award for his performance last week, but what he wants and what he deserves is the WWE Championship. Henry continues, saying that people are upset with him because he used his friends, family, and other WWE Superstars, but he is not going to apologize to any of them! Henry says that people have always told him who he is and what defines him, telling him to not squash the little kids and to win the Olympics for America. Henry continues, saying that the fans are a bunch of puppets because they do what he tells them to do and, last week, he said honey, Im coming home and he is coming home alright, but he is coming home as the WWE Champion!
Then it was time for the main event as, following two controversial victories over each other and a double disqualification finish earlier in the night, Daniel Bryan would go one-on-one with Randy Orton and, as voted on by the WWE fans, the match will be a Street Fight, where the only way to win is by pinfall or submission with no disqualifications and no count-outs! The match would immediately get intense as Orton and Bryan battle in and out of the ring, but the first major shot of the match was fired by Randy Orton, who stops Bryan from diving to the outside with a vicious steel chair shot to the skull! Later on in the match, Daniel Bryan would repeatedly try to knock Randy Orton off of the ring apron with dropkick after dropkick, but Bryan would finally use a powerbomb to put The Viper through a table set up on the outside of the ring! Daniel Bryan then grabs a kendo stick, using a combination of kicks to the chest and kendo stick shots to the back, but Orton would manage to pull a big move off, hooking Bryan up in a T-Bone suplex and slamming Bryan into the table! Later on in the match, Daniel Bryan would manage to lock the No Lock in on Randy Orton, but Orton would use the kendo stick to break out of the hold, wearing Bryan out with multiple stick shots. Shortly after this, Daniel Bryan again locks in the No Lock, but when Randy Orton tries to use the kendo stick to escape, Bryan grabs the kendo stick and implements the stick in the No Lock, leaving The Viper no choice but to tap out as Bryan picks up the huge victory! After the match, Randy Orton would confront Daniel Bryan, shaking Bryans hand in a show of respect before exiting the ring, allowing Daniel Bryan to enjoy his moment.
Rob Van Dam defeated Tommy Dreamer at a Family Wrestling Entertainment event in New York last night. A fan in attendance noted that Van Dam looked "way better" in the ring than he did when he was with TNA recently. As noted, RVD will return to WWE next month.
WWE Smackdown Results June 21, 2013 Dayton, Ohio Report by: Mike Tedesco of Wrestleview.com
"Then. Now. Forever." The WWE video leads us into the show.
A video kicks off the show that highlights some of the events from WWE Payback. Curtis Axel won the WWE Intercontinental Championship, AJ Lee won the WWE Diva's Championship, The Shield retained their titles, Alberto Del Rio won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, CM Punk defeated Chris Jericho in his return match, and John Cena beat Ryback in a Three Stages of Hell match to retain the WWE Championship.
Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring to a tremendous reception as Michael Cole and John "Bradshaw" Layfield welcome us to the show. Bryan stands in the ring as the crowd showers him with "Yes" chants. Bryan says something happened to him on RAW that never happened to him before. In his thirteen years in this industry, he has never had a match stopped due to injury. When the doctor asked if he could continue, he said, "Yes!" Unfortunately, the doctor and WWE officials didn't agree. Officially, the company line is that they were concerned for his health so they stopped the match. Realistically, they stopped the match because they think he's the weak link and not tough enough.
That's not even the worst part of it. The worst offender and perpetrator is Randy Orton. Bryan then has them roll footage from this week's RAW. It shows highlights of the match with the doctor telling the referee to call off the match. Orton was declared the winner. Orton then helped Bryan up and hugged him. He seemed concerned for him.
Bryan wants to get this straight. Instead of fighting to keep the match going, pleading with the doctors and WWE officials, and raging against the machine with him side-by-side, all Orton did was pick him up and pat him on the head like a little brother or dog. In Orton's eyes, Bryan saw nothing but pity. Tonight, he doesn't care what the doctors, WWE officials, and Randy Orton thinks. He will prove that he is not the weak link. Is he going to beat Randy Orton tonight? "Yes, yes, yes!"
Randy Orton's music hits, and he makes his way to the ring looking none too happy. Orton says Bryan has it all wrong. The reason why the match was stopped was because people were concerned for his wellbeing. Orton was concerned himself. He wanted to stop fighting, but Bryan kept coming and coming. He had no choice, but that made him respect Bryan even more. The match was stopped because Bryan couldn't defend himself anymore. When he helped him up, it wasn't because of pity. It was because of respect.
Bryan shakes his head, and he tells Orton not to patronize him. Bryan doesn't see any respect. He sees pity. Bryan knows that Orton thinks he's the weak link. He said it on Monday. Tonight, he'll prove how tough he is. He proved it last week when he beat The Shield. He's going to take all this respect, and he's going to shove it right down Orton's throat. Orton says Bryan is way out of line. If Bryan wants it that badly, then fine. Tonight, they're going to fight, and he's going to hurt Bryan. Tonight, when the officials stop their match, Bryan won't be walking out. He'll be carried out. Orton tells him to respect that before walking off. Bryan stands in the ring shaking his head.
Chris Jericho will take on Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match later tonight. We'll also see Curtis Axel defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against the former champion Wade Barrett.

As noted earlier, five-year old Viloude Louis was killed by her 13 year old brother after he allegedly used wrestling moves that he learned from TV. The 13 year old told police that he was wrestling with the victim and used "WWE" style wrestling moves.
WWE has provided an updated statement on the situation:
"The death of Viloude Louis is a tragedy and we express our heartfelt condolences," WWE said. "Authorities have already charged the accused with second degree murder and determined that this was not an accidental death due to a wrestling move. The facts of this case clearly point to a lack of parental supervision and a teenager who had a history of violent behavior toward his 5-year-old stepsister. It is illogical to conclude that the repeated, brutal, and ultimately fatal beating of a 5-year-old little girl by a teenager could be confused with imitation of WWE action seen on TV."
For those who missed it, here is WWE's original statement:
"The death of Viloude Louis is a tragedy, and our condolences go out to her family.
WWE urges restraint in reporting this unfortunate incident as if it were the result of a WWE wrestling move. As in similar cases, criminal intent to harm and a lack of parental supervision have been the factors resulting in a tragic death.
Authorities have already charged the accused with second degree murder and determined that this was not an accidental death due to a wrestling move."
