TNA WRESTLING SAYS GOODBYE TO PETEY WILLIAMS
On Thursday's "iMPACT!", the team of Eric Young and Petey Williams lost to TNA World Tag Team Champions Beer Money, Inc. in the ongoing "Off The Wagon" challenge.
Williams was pinned in the bout, and as a result of the match stipulations, he is no longer a member of the TNA Wrestling roster.
Williams first debuted in TNA Wrestling in February 2004 as part of the "Team Canada" faction. Williams claimed two X Division Championship reigns during his TNA career and also earned multiple "Finisher Of The Year" honors for his devastating "Canadian Piledriver".
TNA Wrestling wishes Petey all the best, as he was respected both in and out of the ring by his peers.
According to sources, Beer Money, Inc. plan to continue the "Off The Wagon" challenge in the coming weeks.

With no Playboy push this year -- and no huge feud going on at the moment -- the possibility of a Divas match taking place at Wrestlemania 25 remains in question.
A possible Divas match still remains unplanned at this point and time, but a few of the Divas are pushing hard to be included on WWE's biggest show of the year as they are tossing out ideas to the creative team.
In another note, the word backstage is that Undertaker is using his pull to get girlfriend Michelle McCool a spot on the Wrestlemania 25 card.
The February 17th edition of ECW on Sci Fi scored a 1.2 cable rating. This is down from last week's 1.3 rating and the large audience from Monday's WWE Raw did not carry over to Tuesday.
WWE Contacts Released Legend For Jericho Storyline
World Wrestling Entertainment contacted recently released employee Sgt. Slaughter to check up on his availability for a possible upcoming on-air appearance. A well-placed source said that the idea is to bring Sgt. Slaughter into the ongoing Chris Jericho storyline involving the WWE legends, reports ProWrestling.net.
Nothing has been confirmed on if WWE has anything planned for Sgt. Slaughter, however they have contacted him as well as other WWE Hall of Fame members to take part in the Chris Jericho storyline.
For the past several months, Triple H has been rumored to play the leading role of "Thor" the movie that is set to begin filming in July.
A casting notice has been released by the producers asking for an actor in his 20s, however Triple H turns 40 years old on July 27. The casting notice describes the role as "physically powerful, very handsome, occasionally egotistical, petulant and wild".
Daniel Craig and Kevin McKidd have also been rumored for the role of a partially disabled doctor who becomes the hammer-wielding hero.
The movie is expected to arrive in cinemas a year after filming begins on July 16, 2010.
WWE Raw diva Candice Michelle doesn't care where she ends up during the upcoming 2009 Draft rearranging talent on Raw, Smackdown, and ECW. She just wants to wrestle.
Candice claims she's working on a few new moves for when she's back in the ring wrestling full-time and she's becoming frustrated by her lack of TV time.
"I promise you I have stuff in the works and I will be back on top," Candice said on a WWE live blog during Sunday's No Way Out PPV. "Matter of fact, I hate not working!"
Candice wouldn't mind moving to Smackdown where she there is "enormous talent" and she could go after Maryse's Divas Title.
"I wanna fricken wrestle and I'm doing everything to get back to where I was!" Candice said, referring to a major shoulder injury and subsequent re-injury of the same area that kept her off TV throughout 2008.
- The USA Network was the top rated cable network in prime time for the sixth straight week, according to PWInsider.com. For the week ending February 15, USA averaged 3.22 million viewers in prime time. WWE RAW was once again their top rated show for the week.
- While visiting Wrestlemania.com this morning, I noticed that Stone Cold Steve Austin has been removed from WWE's official Wrestlemania 25 wallpaper. Click here to see the new wallpaper with John Cena replacing Steve Austin.
As reported earlier, last Thursdays edition of TNA iMPACT drew a 1.22 cable rating and 1.7 million viewers. It was the third largest viewing audience in the history of the show. It would appear that the bump in the rating was as a result of the the older Male demographic as it drew some of its best numbers. The show did a 1.17 in Males 35-49 (the all-time record for the program), as well as a 1.14 in Males 50+. The show drew a 0.89 in Males 18-34, which was also up.
The big winner of the night was the 9-Women Gauntlet Match featuring Angelina Love, Taylor Wilde, Velvet Sky, Sojournor Bolt, Roxxi, Madison Rayne, Raisha Saeed, Rhaka Khan and ODB. The match was a big hit as it gained 125,000 viewers, peaking with a 1.33 quarter hour. This number appears to be the highest rated quarter hour in the history of the company that wasnt the first quarter coming off a lead-in show such as CSI or UFC with big ratings. I believe a Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong match that aired early last year drew a 1.32 quarter hour, and TNA has definitely never drawn above a 1.35 because it would therefore round up to a 1.4 quarter hour. The shows rating plummeted following the Knockouts match as viewers tuned out by the droves. The Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley vs. Jay Lethal & Consequences Creed match following the Knockouts lost 195,000 viewers. X Division matches, especially ones featuring the Motor City Machine Guns for some reason, are usually big ratings losers as this isnt the first time tens of thousands of viewers tuned out during a match featuring them. Viewers continued to tune out as the Beer Money, Inc. vs. Abyss & Rhino match lost 70,000 viewers bringing the total viewer loss following the Knockouts match to 265,000. The show closing Kurt Angle vs. Sting match drew a slight bump, gaining 14,000 viewers to finish at a 1.15. iMPACT lost nearly 0.2 ratings points following the Knockouts match at the top of the hour.
In other ratings notes, Kurt Angles promo with Sting during the second quarter hour lost 14,000 viewers. The Scott Steiner vs. Petey Williams No DQ Headdress On A Pole Match gained 56,000 viewers.
According to data compiled by Neilson Media Research, the February 16th edition of WWE RAW did a 4.1 cable rating and averaged nearly 6 million viewers for the two hour broadcast. The hourly numbers were 3.86 and 4.35. The last time RAW drew a 4.1 was December 10, 2007, which is great news for WWE headed into WrestleMania season.

New York Magazine caught up with Mickey Rourke last night at a fashion show in New York City and asked him about his involvement at Wrestlemania. "We're gonna go in support. Vince McMahon, Roddy Piper, and Ric Flair have been such a part of the movie," Rourke said. "So whatever support I can give back to all those people from WWE, I'm gonna do that." When the reporter asked Rourke why he backed out of his rumored match with Chris Jericho, NYMag.com writes that Rourke's publicist jumped in and said, "We don't need to talk about that."[/

This week, after turning his back to his opponent while reaching for his bag of worms, the Superstar from the Bottomless Pit was rolled up and defeated by Burchill. World Tag Team Champion John Morrison def. Tommy Dreamer (PHOTOS) Still seeking revenge for being mocked by the World Tag Team Champions, Tommy Dreamer met John Morrison in singles action this week. Later, Ricky Ortiz offered Dreamer one of his signature Ricky O. Rally Towels and told the ECW Original to rally up. What will this new Superstar do next to impress the Land of the Extreme?
TNA has signed independent talent, Sarah Stock, according to PWInsider.com. A great Canadian performer, Stock (aka the Dark Angel) has been looked at by TNA for quite some time, but due to her commitments with CMLL out of Mexico, she was unable to be brought in earlier than now.
The departure of Gail Kim has definitely caused TNA to lose some momentum with their Knockout Division. Stock could be the talent to help with that void.

Womens Champion Melina def. Beth Phoenix to retain (PHOTOS) In a Womens Title Match, Beth Phoenix had an opportunity to regain championship gold from her rival, Melina. As usual, The Glamazon was accompanied to the ring both by her beau Santino Marella and her overzealous intern, Rosa Mendes. Beths crazed No. 1 fan had proven her worth in recent weeks by providing distractions and even involving herself in her idols matches. In order to prevent any shady business from Rosa or the Italian Superstar, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James and Candice Michelle arrived mid-match to neutralize Beths associates.
