Savage was one of the most talented athletes to ever compete inside a wrestling ring. He truly transcended professional wrestling, becoming one of the true "icons" of our sport. Millions of wrestling fans grew up watching Savage battle other legends such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat and many more.
Savage appeared with TNA during our 2004 "Victory Road" and "Turning Point" events - memorable moments that wrestling fans will never forget.
TNA hopes all of our fans remember Randy Savage's amazing life and career, and how he helped shape the sport as we know it today.

This was a tough one. I just pray that Randy's happy and in a better place and we miss him."

Impact Wrestling Results - 5/19/2011 From Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida Report by: Alex Barie of WrestlingNewsWorld.com
The first ever full episode of Impact Wrestling airs right here on May 19th, 2011!
The show starts off with a recap last week's show with Mick Foley being revealed as the person behind the network and Chyna being Kurt's mistress. It then shows the results of the major matches from Sacrifice like the Angle/Jarrett match and the TNA World Title match.
The video ends and white letters with a glowing blue around it reads "Back from the Dead" with a black background.
A new video entrance airs that hypes up the shows new name of Impact Wrestling.
As we see the Impact Wrestling zone, Immortal's music hits and all of the members come out to the ring. All of them get in the ring as we see a new arena set-up with blue ring ropes (and the whole ring itself) and new lighting.
Eric gets on the mic and talks about how him and Hulk change the arena as they can remodel according to the changes from the network. He says if it was really up to Mick Foley, it would be a show all about thumbtacks. He says that Hulk is off at New York as he is meeting with Foley. Eric states that he is in charge tonight and whoever gets in his way will pay the price. Just then, Brian Kendrick's music hits and here comes the eccentric man as he leads several other X-Divisioners.
Kendrick has a mic and wonders why Eric is saying about being in his way on a wrestling show while he isn't even a wrestler. It gets Kendrick furious as he is a wrestler and he can out wrestle, along with the other X-Divisioners, any other wrestler on Immortal. Eric comes out of the ring and goes right to Kendrick. Eric says he is going to create history. He is going to whip out the X-Division once and for all tonight. Eric is sick of it. He's going to start out with Kazarian. The X-Division is about no limits, not about weight limits. So Kazarian will face Abyss! He then states that Amazing Red will face against Samoa Joe tonight. As for Generation Me, they will face off against Matt Hardy and........ERIC BISCHOFF! Eric is loving this night. Kendrick stops Eric from talking and saying he forgot about him. Eric forgot that Kendrick was standing there. He has something for Brian though, and that is a slap to the face. Eric walks away and Immortals go after the X-Divisioners. Immortal beats them up easily. After they are done, Fortune comes out and they take Immortal to the limit. Fortune clears house after Bully Ray was the last one in the ring. Just then, Fortune continues the fight as they get out of the ring and attack Immortal. It's all out chaos! Immortal finally attacks Forune and they walk up the ramp as Fortune stay by the ring. Flair gets fired up and throws his coat to Fortune. That starts more heat and the two groups are off fighting again. The X-Divisioners are back and they help Fortune out as they go after Immortal. Generation Me does suicide dives and Amazing Red flies in the air on Abyss.
Immortal tries to retreat, but they come back as more fighting contine. Fighting is all over the Wrestling Impact arena. Finally, Forune and the X-Divisioners get in the ring as Immortal goes up the ramp. Flair comes down and says he needs to talk to Roode. He will talk to him later tonight and he better show.
A limo has arrived and it shows someone's shoes and legs that has a scorpion on it. Mike Tenay says it's Sting!

It could be done. Abyss then goes to the second corner and jumps off it as he does a splash, but Kazarian moves. Abyss lands right on his knee and he holds his knee as he lies on the mat. Kazarian gets up and goes right after the injured part. The referee backs him up. Abyss stands to his feet, but he uses the ropes to help him. He says he and Tommy need to talk, so he better come out here. Just then, Tommy Dreamer's music plays and here comes the Innovator of Violence. Tommy gets in the ring. As he does, Mike Tenay says James Storm got a concussion from the brawl earlier tonight.
AJ begins to talk and says he has to wear the neckbrace for a couple weeks because of Tommy giving him a piledriver through a table. AJ says he's a pro wrestler, that's what he does, but he doesn't sit on the sidelines. AJ says he got a bigger picture. It involves Immortal, Bully Ray, and Hogan. AJ says if Tommy didn't do what he did, he wouldn't have a contract in TNA. He doesn't blame Tommy as AJ would have done the same thing. AJ says he knows wrestling matters to Tommy and Tommy knows wrestling matters to AJ. Tommy grabs a mic and asks AJ if he means that he can't beat AJ if he didn't hurt his neck? Is AJ saying that he is better than Tommy? Tommy states that he built a wrestling company and he didn't get help from anyone. He wrestled and did everything for free! Tommy says this is a historic night. He piledrived him because he was told to, but he will do what he did now because he wants to. He then hits AJ in the head with the mic. The winner of the match, a stipulation just made by Mick Foley, will be the #1 Contender for the TNA World Title. Jeff Jarrett's music hits and he comes down to the ring fast as you can clearly see he is not in the mood.
He grabs a mic and asks Kurt if he is kidding! He can't believe Kurt is getting another shot at him. What did he deserve to get this? He beat Kurt every time. It was Kurt's ADD, it was Kurt's fault that distracted him. It wasn't Karen's fault. Jeff was focused though as he won because he is better than Kurt. (The fans boo loudly from that.) Jeff says he is up for one final match against Kurt. Jeff says if Kurt is really up to it, then he has no problem agreeing to this stipulation. Paul Heyman Knocks WWE For Not Pushing CM Punk Posted by Dave Mitchell on 05/19/2011 at 04:19 PM
Paul Heyman is making headlines today with some controversial remarks about how WWE is handling the career of Nexus leader CM Punk.
Amid reports that CM Punk is unhappy behind the scenes and is considering leaving WWE when his contract expires later this year, Paul Heyman wrote on Twitter (@heymanhustle):
"I'm sure he will get heat for me saying this, but @CMPunk is STILL the most underutilized talent on the WWE roster. And my apologies to @CMPunk for the heat he'll get, but come on already. Punk is the best heel in the biz today! WAKE THE F**K UP! It's amazing to me (and not in a good way) that WWE doesn't see how @CMPunk has brought out the best in every opponent."
CM Punk caught wind of Paul Heyman's rant and responded with:
"oh you know me, if I don't have heat I'm doing something wrong. Keeps me warm."
WWE Hall of Fame Steve Austin, who has exchanged words with Punk over Twitter in recent weeks, quoted Paul Heyman's tweet and added, "Agreed."
Christian talks about World Title controversy Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 05/19/2011 at 12:54 PM
Brian Fritz of betweentheropes.com sent in the following excerpt from an interview he recently conducted with former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Christian.
Christian discussed the overwhelming fan reaction online to losing the title right away.
"Obviously it was overwhelming, you know, surprising and flattering to an extent. It's the age we live in now with the internet and spoilers. The show hadn't even aired yet and people were giving opinions and other sorts of things. So, you have to take it with a grain of salt and the most important thing is that Randy and I went out there and put on an amazing match for the fans.
I know it is cliche, but I've always been a believer in my entire life that everything happens for a reason. I look at it as motivation. The way I see it, I got a taste of it. Obviously wanted to have it longer than five days, but hey, that is what happened. I look forward to getting the chance to become a two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion."
- Zack Ryder's online promotional efforts have not gone unnoticed by WWE officials as he is expected to receive an increased presence on television going forward.
Big change made to WWE contracts Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 05/18/2011 at 01:54 PM

According to Mike Johnson, an amendment has recently been made to all of WWE's talent contracts. All performers are now required to purchase and maintain their own medical insurance. The word is that WWE will not be picking up the costs of the insurance.
Johnson also reports that WWE will still be covering the expenses of all surgeries and physical rehabilitation for injuries talents suffer while performing, as well as substance abuse treatment.
The amendment was talked about for months and was planned prior to the announcement that UFC would be providing medical insurance for all of their fighters.
Mick Foley comments on the changes in TNA Posted by Corbin Nordhoff on 05/19/2011 at 01:06 PM
Mick Foley, who instigated the change of TNA Impact to Impact Wrestling on last Thursdays broadcast, says he is still confused about the matter.
You know, Im still wondering in a lot of ways, Foley said in an interview with Brian Fritz for BetweenTheRopes.com But I think we wanted the name for the show specifically that made people instantly aware that we were a wrestling show.
He was asked whether he expects to see more wrestling on Impact Wrestling.
You know, I hope so. And not just more wrestling, but hopefully better wrestling. Im not taking a knock at any of the guys. I think, for example, when Ric Flair and I had the big match in October, it took people by surprise and they said, Wow, thats something wed expect to see on a pay-per-view.
I think there has been a little sense over the years that wrestling was secondary to the other things going on in the show. So Id like to see an increase in the number of minutes of wrestling, but Id also like to see an increase in the seriousness of the matches that more matches are seen as being pay-per-view quality.
He also responded to skepticism that significant changes wont be made to the show despite its rebranding.
I would say that personally, Im doing my very best to make the show different and to make the show matter, and that hopefully we will see a positive change, said Foley. Were going to know one way or another in the next month or so if people are happy with the changes. If theyre not, well try to tweak them again.
