MORE NEWS AND NOTES FROM SUNDAYS ACCLAIMED SACRIFICE PAY-PER-VIEW EVENT Catch the replay all week long on Pay-Per-View By Bill Banks
On Sunday night, Total Nonstop Action delivered what many are calling one of the best wrestling Pay-Per-Views of the year with the three-hour Sacrifice spectacular. You can catch the replay all week long on Dish Network, DirecTV, InDemand, TVN, Viewers Choice Canada and many others.
There are several major news items to report from Sundays epic event
- Obviously, both Wildcat Chris Harris and Cowboy James Storm had to be attended to by medical personnel following their bloody and violent classic at Sacrifice. Storm, in particular, was badly cut after being catapulted face-first into the bottom of a table by Harris. Storm received further damage after being hit in the face by Harris with a beer bottle. The bleeding from both TNA stars was so extensive that TNA officials were forced to change the ring canvas before the next bout.
- Also on Sunday night, the world witnessed the reunion of one of the most legendary tag teams in wrestling history The Steiner Brothers! Following the Pay-Per-View, both Steiners avoided discussing the possibility of teaming up again. However, TNAwrestling.com has learned that Rick Steiner told friends after the Pay-Per-View that he plans to be at Mondays SpikeTV tapings in Orlando.
- In a strange turn of events at Sacrifice, The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels - still bloodied from his bout with Rhino earlier in the night - was seen attempting to talk to Sting in the backstage area. In recent weeks, Daniels has been using Stings black bat and wearing a Sting mask. Plus, this was the first time weve seen Daniels speak since his return at Destination X. What is going on involving Sting and Daniels? Tune into iMPACT! to find out.
- In a bout that truly defined Total Nonstop Action, Robert Roodes TNA stock skyrocketed on Sunday night as he defeated The King Of The Mountain Jeff Jarrett. Following the bout, Roode and Ms. Brooks attempted to double-team Jarrett, but Eric Young hit the ring and joined Jarrett in applying figure-four leglocks to both Roode and Brooks!

KURT ANGLE CROWNED NEW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION History was made at Sundays Sacrifice as Kurt Angle claimed the World Heavyweight Title in the three-way bout against former champion Christian Cage and Sting. As a result, Kurt Angle is the new World Heavyweight Champion! Tune in Thursday night on iMPACT! on SpikeTV for more news on this huge title change!
- Team 3D retained the World Tag Team Title on Sunday night in the three-way bout against The Latin American Xchange and Scott Steiner & Tomko when 3D got the pin on Tomko. Did Scott call his brother Rick in as backup? What will Tomko have to say about all this? Tune in Thursday night on iMPACT! to find out!
- X Champion Chris Sabin retained his title on Sunday night over Black Machismo Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt. After the bout, a frustrated Sonjay Dutt attacked Kevin Nash and nailed him in the knee with a dropkick before leaving the ring. Later, an enraged Kevin Nash said that Dutt had crossed the line and that he would kick his @#$ this Thursday night on iMPACT!.
- In the Texas Death Match, Wildcat Chris Harris defeated Cowboy James Storm in a bloodbath that saw both Jackie Moore and Gail Kim get involved. Harris got the win after smashing his former partner with the same beer bottle that blinded him months ago!

- In the four-way X Division match, it was Jerry Lynn getting the win against Alex Shelley, Senshi and Tiger Mask when Lynn beat Shelley. After the bout, Chris Sabin hit the ring to help Shelley assault Lynn, which brought out Mr. Backlund to chase off the brash X stars.
- The Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels used a baseball bat to get the win over The War Machine Rhino, but Rhino exacted his revenge after the bout. Rhino bloodied Daniels and attempted to hit him with a piledriver through two steel chairs, but TNA security stopped him before he could do so.

Conway had been on the main WWE roster since 2000. As a member of the La Resistance tag team, Conway held the WWE Tag Team championships on three occasions. An attempt to package him as a singles star was never really sustained by the company. bron:therealsting.com

Getting straight into the action, a triple threat match seeing Homicide vs. Scott Steiner vs. Brother Devon opens the show. Homicide and Steiner used a lot of double team maneuvers to their advantage, but Homicide decided to end the short lived partnership in the match, when he tried to attack Steiner from behind. AS the two started to brawl, Devon knocked Steiner to the outside, leaving him only Homicide to deal with. It looked as if Devon was going to go for a superplex, but as the referee was distracted, Hernandez came in and gave Devon a "Border Toss" which allowed Homicide to pick up the win.
After the match, Jeremy Borash was in the back waiting for Christy Hemme, but was first interrupted by a ticked off Big Poppa Pump. Steiner asked JB where Christian Cage and Tomko were to help him in the match. and then stated that back in the day when the Steiner Brothers were tag champs, his brother Rick would NEVER leave him out there alone. Christy Hemme then walked up and told JB that her first two teams didn't matter, because they weren't who she wanted. The Voodoo Kin Mafia then came in and Christy told them that she was going to the ring to make an announcement. Once in the ring, VKM followed, but were jumped from behind by Christy's new tag team, who she called "Basham and Damaja".
Once again backstage, Jeremy Borash is able to catch up with Mr. Backlund. Backlund says that he is furious that "Mr. Sabin and Mr. Shelley" stole his book. Jeremy then announces that VKM will not be able to compete in their match with Shelley and Sabin. Therefore, Sonjay Dutt and "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal will be pout into the match instead. Jay says that after they win the match tonight, he is going to take home the X-Division Title on Sunday. Jeremy goes to send it back to Mike and Don, but Sonjay asks "What? I guess there's no time for Sonjay huh?" and walks off.
The X-Division tag team match begins with Lethal and Shelley. The two go back and forth, but Shelley gains the upper hand and he and Sabin keep control for most of the match. Lethal is finally able to tag in Sonjay, and he cleans house. Sonjay hits the "Sonjay Cutter" on Sabin and Lethal goes to go for an elbow drop, but Sonjay stands in the way to prevent the move. A confused L:ethal looks on as Shelley and Sabin then hit a series of double team moves, followed by a Kryptonite Krunch from Shelley to get the victory. As Shelley and Sabin head up the ramp, Mr. Backlund throws them back into the ring. Backlund gives a slam to Shelley and an atomic drop to Sabin, and the two run off.
Backstage, Jeremy Borash is holding an interview between all three competitors in the NWA World Title Match at Sacrifice. One thing that was very odd though, was that the Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels was with Sting before the interview got underway. The only thing audible from the two was Sting telling Daniels "Now isn't the time." Back to the interview; Sting and Kurt Angle argued throughout most of the interview, with Christian Cage adding gasoline to the fire. Stings asks Kurt if he wants to face him one more time before the PPV, and Kurt says he will go find him right now and beat him to a pulp.
Next up is the main event as Samoa Joe, Wildcat Chris Harris, and Rhino square off with AJ Styles, Cowboy James Storm, and Christopher Daniels. It was a back and forth battle with some great action. But the end of the match saw Jackie Moore throw in the beer bottle, only to end up in the hands of Chris Harris. Wildcat went to hit his former tag partner, but the referee intervened as Storm grabbed Harris' tights and rolled him up for the pin. Harris then chased Storm out of the ring and into the stands, even giving the Cowboy a back body drop from the stands onto the cement floor. No sooner did this happen when Kurt Angle and Sting appeared from the tunnel brawling towards the ring. The two made it inside the ropes, and security tried to break it up, but it was chaos out there. Christian Cage came out to watch his opponents for Sacrifice destroy each other. He could only stand there and smile as he held his NWA Title confidently to close the show.
SmackDown Superstars are stunned by Edge By Noah Starr Written: May 8, 2007PITTSBURGH The Steel City witnessed an earth-shattering event as Edge blasted into the Mellon Arena, cashed in his Money in the Bank opportunity, pinned a broken and beaten Undertaker and became the new World Heavyweight Champion. The events of the night shocked our fans and left the Superstars of SmackDown reeling. WWE.com caught up with many of the SmackDown Superstars just after the events unfolded.
Matt Hardy was surprisingly quite pleased with Edges actions, for personal reasons. Even though he is probably the person I hate the most out of anyone on this planet, said Hardy, Im excited because if he is around here I can get revenge. Nothing would make me happier then stepping into the ring and beating him for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Chavo Guerrero was also in support of Edges controversial win, but saw an opportunity to add more gold to his waist.
[Edge] played his card to a T, Chavo said. He just won the lottery, World Series and the Super Bowl. If I was Mr. Money in the Bank, thats how I would have played it. Looks like we have a new sheriff in town, but he better hold on to that title tight because Im going to be in line to take it, just like everyone else.
Finlay, a Superstar who is no stranger to controversy had this to add: I think its great because I hate Undertaker, I hate Batista, and I think Edge is a great person. But he could feel a shillelagh over his head too
SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long had the big picture on his mind. I havent had time to make any kind of decision about which direction SmackDown is going to go in, explained Long. There was a big upset tonight and we are going to have a lot to talk about.
The effects of Edges huge victory have sent shockwaves throughout the locker room, even reaching the tag team division on SmackDown. Former WWE Tag Team Champion Brian Kendrick expressed his disapproval with the Rated-R Superstars methods.
I dont like how he went about it, fumed Kendrick. I thought it was sneaky, underhanded and he took advantage of a bad situation.
As is often the way, MVP was in a category of his own and appeared almost indifferent to the nights occurrences.
There is only one Superstar MVP cares about, only one, Porter said. Edge might be the World Heavyweight Champion, but this is MVPs house! bron wwe.com
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. The Great Khali left Shawn Michaels lying unconscious in a heap of microphone cables and table rubble as the Punjabi giant powered past HBK Monday to become the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship at Judgment Day.
Reports from medical personnel say Michaels received a concussion and is suffering from back spasms after the devastating power slam through the announcers table.
There were no further reports on HBKs condition at press time.
UNDERTAKER INJURY UPDATE by Mike Johnson @ 4:00:00 PM on 5/3/2007
WWE World champion The Undertaker will be undergoing surgery to repair a torn tendon in his biceps shortly, so it's expected he'll likely drop the championship at the next set of TV tapings. I am told that it could be 6-8 months before he's able to return to the ring.
"iMPACT!" RESULTS FROM THURSDAY, MAY 3, 2007 By Mike Kerrigan
The show opens up with Sting walking to the ring, only to be suprised by Kurt Angle holding a steel chair. After the two exchange some punches,Christian Cage comes out and gives the two a proposition - team up against Cage and AJ Styles and if one of them gets the pin, they get the title shot at Sacrifice. But if someone on Team Cage gets the pin, no one gets a title shot. Sting and Angle agree.
Backstage, Leticia is with Team 3D. Brother Ray says that they finally fulfilled their destiny. They are the only team in history to win every major tag team title in the wrestling world. Ray goes on to say that they will be defending champs and at Sacrifice they will defend against LAX and the team of Tomko and Scott Steiner. Tonight though, they look forward to getting in the ring with Rhino and Samoa Joe, and find out just how tough Joe is.
Joe and Brother give each other some stiff hard hitting shots, but the two keep going at it. Rhino eventually makes it into the ring, where Rhino hits a Gore on Ray, and gets set to hit Devon, but the Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels gets into the ring and hits everyone in sight with a baseball bat. Yet, Daniels didn't realize Joe was on the outside, and was met with a Coquina Clutch as he went up the ramp. Joe threw Daniels back into the ring, where he was hit with a headbutt to the groin by Team 3D and a Gore into a table from Rhino.
Jeremy Borash in the locker-room with Team Cage. AJ doesn't want to be "volunteered" for matches anymore. But Cage has a different perspective. He tells AJ that tonight, there's a phenomenal opportunity for AJ to become the number one contender for the NWA World Title. AJ quickly changes his mind set, gives Cage a hug, and walks out.
After the commercial break, we come back to a very angry Robert Roode who is demanding Eric Young come to the ring. Jim Cornette intervenes, and tells Roode that Eric was in breach of contract when he "signed" with Roode Inc. Therefore, Roode was tampering with contracted TNA talent and was in breach on contract himself. Roode did not take this kindly and shoved Cornette to the floor. Eric Young hit the ring and took it to Roode for a moment until Roode hit a DDT on Young. He then handcuffed Eric to a turnbuckle and smashed a guitar over his head. Yet, it was Cornette who had the last laugh when he told Robert Roode he would be facing the King of the Mountain Jeff Jarrett at Sacrifice.
A very strange video from James Mitchell is then shown where he had some cryptic messages for wrestling world. "It's time to move on to bigger and better things. Abyss is finished and Abyss has been replaced."
The No DQ TNA Knockout Match is next. with Jackie Moore squaring off against Gail Kim. The match was all out brutal as the fight went all over the arena, eventually ending up back into the ring where Gail Kim placed a garbage can over Jackie Moore and proceeded to hit the can with a huge stick; knocking out two of Jackie's teeth in the process. Jackie looked as if she grabbed the upper hand at the end of the match, but it was all for not when she went for a steel chair and got it dropkicked into her face and lost the match to Kim. James Storm came to the ring to help Moore beat down Kim, but Wildcat Chris Harris came down to make the save. But that wasn't all, Harris took off his eye patch and threw it at Storm as he ran away. Does this mean that Harris' vision is back to 100%?
In the continuation of last week's Paparazzi Production, we see what is entitled "Baffoonery: The Battle". The video sees Bob Backlund schooling Chris Sabin in some amateur wrestling, but Alex Shelley making the save. The two X-Division stars seemed to accomplished their goal in the video, as it looks like they stole what seemed to be Mr. Backlund's "Rule Book".
The main event is up as AJ Styles and Christian Cage take on Kurt Angle and Sting. Sting is in control early on in the match, but AJ is able to put a stop to it as he grabs Stings legs and with a little help from Cage, smashes Sting's groin into the turnbuckle. Somehow Sting recovers and hits a Scorpion Death Drop on Cage, but Angle breaks it up so he doesn't lose his shot for the title. After Angle and Sting hit AJ with a double slam, Sting tells Angle to go for the pin, but Cage is able to break up the count. Cage is then thrown over the top rope by Kurt. In the meantime, AJ goes for an enziguiri on Sting, but misses. As AJ lands on the mat, both Sting and Angle go for a Ankle Lock, and AJ taps out. Referee Rudy Charles says that AJ tapped to both men, and therefore Jim Cornette says "Both men win the title shot at Sacrifice and it will be a Triple Threat Match between Christian Cage, Kurt Angle, and Sting at Sacrifice." Sting and Kurt Angle stare down each other as Cage holds his title closely as iMPACT! ends.
