Friday night was not a pleasant one for SmackDowns resident royalty, King Booker. First, his majesty suffered a disappointing loss to Matt Hardy in one-on-one action, and later, his attempted ambush on Undertaker was thwarted in a big way when he was driven head first onto the announce table via a thunderous Tombstone Piledriver. As a result of the beating he received from the Deadman, King Booker suffered multiple injuries. WWE.com received the following update from World Wrestling Entertainment physician Dr. Rios on the Kings condition:
As a result of the Tombstone from Undertaker on Friday night, King Booker suffered a sprain, and strained contusion of the neck, said Dr. Rios.
WWE.com has also learned that while recovering from his encounter with the Phenom, King Booker will be treated for a previous chronic knee injury, where he has a meniscus tear, and a chronic elbow strain and sprain.
There is no timetable for the Kings recovery, but stay tuned to WWE.com for more information as it becomes available.

Just 14 months ago, Matt Cappotelli was the Ohio Valley Wrestling Champion, seeming on the verge of Superstardom. But that all changed when he was forced to relinquish the WWE developmental territorys biggest prize and announce to the OVW fans that he was suffering from a brain tumor.
Flash forward to this week. OVW TV celebrated the taping of its 400th episode, and Cappotelli returned to Louisville, Ky. and the OVW ring. Unfortunately, he had some bad news: the tumor has grown, and he now faces major surgery to attempt to remove the growth.
Last time I was here, I know it was hard but you guys are my family, and its time to update my family on my condition and whats been going on with me, an emotional Cappotelli said to the cheering OVW fans before his speech.
WWE.com also caught up with him this week, and Cappotelli explained how the discovery of the growth came about.
Doctors have been monitoring the tumor since its discovery, and my last MRI revealed that it had grown a little, Cappotelli said. I had been feeling pretty good the last couple months, but recently I had some bad headaches and noticed a little change in my vision. They told me that because the tumor has grown, my optic nerves had swollen as well.
Doctors have advised Cappotelli to have surgery, where they will remove as much of the tumor as possible while trying to avoid doing any damage to the brain. The surgery is scheduled for May 1 in Boston, and Cappotelli is cautious yet optimistic about the procedure.
Any surgery like this its extremely tough to get 100 percent of the tumor. Theyre hoping to get in the high 90s, and well have to treat whatever they cant get with chemo or radiation or a combination of both.
Despite his condition, Cappotelli is upbeat about the surgery and recovery, using his strong faith as a foundation.
Im glad Im not in control of this, because I probably would have screwed this up a long time ago, he laughed. God is in control, and I have complete faith in what hes doing. Theres a scripture I read quite often that describes my situation; it says Gods strength is made perfect in my weakness, and I think this is a time where Im at the darkest point of my life.
Throughout this whole ordeal, Cappotelli is thankful for all the support he has received.
Its been about a year now, and I cant express how thankful I am for the fans who have reached out through email or word of mouth, and for their thoughts and prayers, a gracious Cappotelli said. I really wish I could think of a way to give back, but I thank them with my whole heart.
If you would like to send well-wishes to Matt Cappotelli, you can do so by sending email to
NEW MATCHES ANNOUNCED FOR THE APRIL 15 LOCKDOWN PPV News and notes from Thursdays iMPACT! broadcast on SpikeTV
There are several major news items to report from Thursdays iMPACT! on SpikeTV, including new matches announced for the April 15 Lockdown epic event!
STING JOINS TEAM ANGLE ONE SPOT REMAINS Going into Thursdays iMPACT!, the outlook for Team Angle at Lockdown looked bleak as they were losing the numbers game to Team Cage. However, the Olympic gold medalist made good on his promise to add to his team for the Lethal Lockdown as the icon known as Sting appeared at the end of the broadcast to make the save for Team Angle! Sting joins Angle, Samoa Joe and Rhino with one spot remaining to be filled. Now, the question is who will Angle get to fill that final position? According to Angle, we may just find out next Thursday on iMPACT!.
WINNER OF THE LETHAL LOCKDOWN TO EARN WORLD TITLE SHOT In a bombshell announced by TNA management director Jim Cornette during the broadcast, the TNA star that scores the win in the Lethal Lockdown Pay-Per-View main event will earn a shot at the World Title at Mays Sacrifice Pay-Per-View event! Obviously, World Champion Christian Cage was angered by the decision, but theres nothing he can do about it. In other words, one TNA star competing inside the Lethal Lockdown that night will get the shot against Cage in May! Will it be someone from Team Angle or perhaps someone on Cages own team?
TEAM 3D ACCEPTS THE ELECTRIFIED STEEL CAGE CHALLENGE Also on Thursdays broadcast, during the aftermath of the Latin American Xchange vs. Voodoo Kin Mafia match, Team 3D of Brother Ray and Brother Devon hit the ring to accept the challenge made by the LAX for Lockdown! As a result, the World Tag Team Title will be on the line inside the first Electrified Cage Match ever broadcast in the United States. In another TNA Wrestling first, the Six Sides of Steel will be electrified with thousands of volts during the LAX vs. Team 3D bout on April 15 live on Pay-Per-View!
NEW MATCHES ANNOUNCED FOR THE PAY-PER-VIEW During the meeting between Jim Cornette and the entire TNA roster, the TNA management director announced several new matches for the Lockdown Pay-Per-View. The newly-added bouts are as followed:

OFFICIAL IMPACT RESULTS FOR APRIL 5, 2007 By Mike Kerrigan
As iMPACT! begins, we learn that Tomko will face Rhino in an 8 Mile Street Fight. Yet, before the match we go backstage where everyone from Team Cage is asking about their NWA Title shot that Christian Cage promised each of them. Cage shrugged it off and told Tomko to get ready for his match. The War Machine Rhino came down to the ring, but quickly ran backstage to bring the fight to Tomko before he could even walk through the tunnel. The two powerhouses brawled through the backstage area and into the crowd; using every barricade and wall in the way. They eventually made it into the ring and Rhino started to gain the advantage. At that point Abyss came to the ring to hit Rhino with a steel chair, only to miss and hit Tomko. Rhino then tossed Abyss out of the ring and gave Tomko a Gore to get the pinfall. After the match both Team Cage and Team Angle came out to help their teammates, but it was Team Cage who dominated with their 5 on 3 advantage.
In Jim Cornettes office, a few wrestlers were trying to find out what their role is going to be at Lockdown, but in a incoherent fashion. Jim told them all to shut up and that everyone will know where they stand concerning Lockdown at the Town Hall Meeting at the end of the show. He said for all them to get out and for no one to bother him the rest of the night. Just at that moment, Gail Kim ran in and attacked Jackie Moore. Chris Sabin seemed to enjoy the fight as he cheered on, but security quickly got control of the situation.
Backstage, Team Cage was celebrating their domination of Team Angle earlier in the night; with Cage even stating Weve already beat them at Lethal Lockdown. Cage says their all going to a party, but Abyss must stay behind because he almost cost Tomko the match. Jim Mitchell said if Abyss didnt stay, then he would have to call Mother Abyss. The Monster then went berserk and destroyed the locker-room.
Our next match of the night saw the Voodoo Kin Mafia against the Latin American X-Change. Yet, before the match started, Christ Hemme came out to try and get in the face of Kip James; only to have Lance Hoyt come down and throw Hemme over his shoulder and bring her out of the arena. LAX got to the ring and seemed to control the match until Kip James tagged in. There the Latino Nation entered the ring and the referee disqualified LAX. Team 3D ran to the ring and ran them out of the ring. Brother Ray grabbed a mic and told LAX that they accept the challenge for the Electrified Steel Cage match and that at Lockdown they will win the NWA Tag Titles and complete their Legacy.
In the back, Samoa Joe and Rhino are frustrated with Kurt Angle about not having a full team of 5 yet. Angle says that Sting and Abyss were supposed to be the final members, but Abyss is now on Team Cage and Sting wont answer his phone calls. Rhino asks Kurt who the 4th member is that Kurt was talking about last week. Kurt says that when he is ready to tell them, he will and walks off. Rhino says that they want to know NOW and follows after him.
In another Paparazzi Production, Kevin Nash is in the back with Jay Lethal. Lethal is sporting a new hair style in which he called madness. Kevin asked Lethal if he trusted him, Jay said yes, and Nash said Then try this on. He gave Jay the bag of clothes and told Jay that Nash was able to get Sonjay and Lethal into the X-cape match at Lockdown. When then get a shot of Sonjay who was wearing Nashs old Oz costume. Being a little too big, Nash told him that it made him six figures one year, but maybe Sonjay could wear it as a cape.
Jeremy Borash is able to catch up with the Olympic Gold medalist, Kurt Angle and ask him what he is going to do next week when it comes to announcing the final members of Team Angle. Kurt says Next week there will be five! There WILL be FIVE!
In the second match of the night, the Austin Starr vs. Senshi feud continues in a submission match. The match was back and forth with some exciting X-Division action. Eventually Austin Starr was able to get Senshi in a Half Boston Crab and started to taunt Mr. Backlund, who was doing his Harvard Step Test next to the announce table. Mr. Backlund came to the ring and threw in his towel to stop from any more damage being done to Senshi. Senshi was none too pleased about what happened when he saw what Mr. Backlund did. He took the towel and threw it at Backlund and walked off.
Earlier in the week, Mike Tenay was able to sit down with Sting and ask him a few questions when it came to what was going on with Abyss. First off, Sting wanted to apologize to Abyss. He said Chris, I had no idea that your past would come back to imprison you further. He then asked Mike Tenay Do you think this is how I wanted to go out? Mike Tenay then responded by asking Where do you go from here? Sting said I go home and look my family and myself in the mirror and say that I failed
Next was the Town Hall Meeting. Jim Cornette announced a lot of matches for Lockdown including the X-cape Match, Petey Williams vs. Robert Roode, Jerry Lynn vs. The Fallen Angel, Starr vs. Senshi with Mr. Backlund as referee, James Storm vs. Chris Harris in a blindfold match, and Gail Kim vs. Jackie Moore. Jim officially announced that Team 3D will face LAX in an Electrified Steel Cage match ,with one fan even paying homage to the match with a Marcia Griffiths Electric Boogie sign. And when it came to talking about the Lethal Lockdown Match, Cornette had a huge surprise for the members of each team. He said whomever gets the winning pinfall in the match would get a NWA World Title match a the May Pay-Per-View, Sacrifice. Thats when the lights in the Impact Zone went out, and Sting emerged in the ring when they came back on. He cleaned house, taking out all of Team Cage. Team Angle entered the ring, and along with Sting, stood with their hands raised high as iMPACT! came to a close. It seems that the 4th member of Team Angle has been secured in a man called Sting, but is this the 4th person that Kurt has been alluding to? And if not, who is and will he come to surface before Lockdown? Tune into iMPACT! next week in its regularly scheduled time at 9pm ET on Spike TV!

WWE history was made this morning in Orlando, when a special press conference was held to announce that the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium has been selected as the site for the 2008 edition of sports-entertainments biggest showcase, WrestleMania.
The city of Orlando rolled out the red carpet, welcoming some of WWEs brightest stars, as well as some of WWEs biggest fans, who lined up as early as 7 a.m. to catch a glimpse of the action. Also converging on city hall were members of the Central Florida Sports Commission, as well as a multitude of local reporters and news cameras, there to document the announcement of what Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer referred to as an iconic and unprecedented event for Central Floridas thriving sports community.
The press conference started with a bang, as emcee for the days events and Hall of Famer Mean Gene Okerlund welcomed the first guest, WWE Chairman and participant in WrestleMania 23s Battle of the Billionaires, Mr. McMahon.
Thank you for welcoming us into your city, said the proud Chairman. WrestleMania is different than anything else. Next March, we will bring that special atmosphere, as well as 60,000 fans here to the Citrus Bowl, and we promise you the time of your life.
WWE Superstars in attendance included WWE Champion John Cena, World Heavyweight Champion Batista, ECW Champion Bobby Lashley, and both participants in the highly intense fight over the Womens Championship, Melina and Playboy cover girl Ashley.
Unwilling to wait for her turn, the WWE Womens Champion interrupted Mean Gene and took to the podium. It didnt take long for the agitated Diva to state her intentions, and make a promise to her fans, and the paparazzi.
Next March, we are going to heat up one of the hottest cities in the world, yelled Melina. But first, I am going to dismantle Ashley at WrestleMania 23, and hold on to my title for the next 12 months so I can bring it right back here to Orlando for WrestleMania 24.
ECW Champion Bobby Lashley was next to take the podium. The hard-hitting Extreme champion had a confident and relaxed look on his face as he spoke to the crowd, taking a moment to glance over at one of his WrestleMania 23 adversaries, Mr. McMahon. While the Champion was quiet and soft spoken on this day, he will be anything but in just a matter of days when he takes the stage at Ford Field.
Its an honor to be here in Orlando, said Lashley. Every Superstar dreams of the day he can be a part of something like WrestleMania, and it will be honor to be able to live my dream again next year here in Orlando.
While the reception for all the Superstars was overwhelming, John Cena may have elicited the loudest response of the day. The Champ backed up the words of his fellow Superstars, telling the audience that Orlando was a perfect fit for sports-entertainments grandest spectacle.
We are here to make history, said Cena. Orlando has a reputation for making dreams come true, and that is why there is no better fit for WrestleMania than the Citrus Bowl. I plan to work my ass off every day to make sure I can be a part of it, and to make sure that the next time I walk into Orlando, I am still the WWE Champion. Well see you back here in 374 days.
On March 30, 2008, WWE fans from all 50 states and more than 23 countries will arrive in droves to the Sunshine State. You can be a part of the excitement as well. Stay tuned to WWE.com in the coming months as information regarding tickets is made available.
