OFFICIAL TNA IMPACT RESULTS FROM MARCH 8, 2007 By Mike Kerrigan
Impacts starts as Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe are in the ring. Kurt says that this Sunday at Destination X, he will be Joe's biggest fan. Kurt says when Joe wins the NWA Title, he and Joe can finish their unresolved business. He then proceeds to call out Christian Cage. Cage obliges, but not without backup. He says that they will beat them as a family, as the Christian Coalition. Cage tells Joe and Angle to find a partner to face the Coalition in a six man tag match later in the show. Angle says he has someone in mind that can be described as being crazy.
The first match of the broadcast is the team of the Voodoo Kin Mafia and Lance Hoyt squaring off against Serotonin. We learn during the match that Raven has renamed the members of his following -- Kaz (Kazarian), Martyr (Matt Bentley) and Havoc (Johnny Devine). Kaz gets the early advantage as he chop blocks Kip James. Yet Kip gives Kaz a cutter out of nowhere and tags in Hoyt. Lance clears the ring and gives the Texas Tornado Slam to Havoc to get the win. After the match, Raven comes to the ring to serve up some punishment to Serotonin for losing. Yet, Kaz actually stands up to his mentor before getting caned; only to eventually back down and receive his punishment anyway.
Jeremy Borash is backstage with the Christian Coalition and Cage is going crazy trying to figure out who Angle and Joe's mystery partner is. He believes it to be Abyss and wants to confront the monster, but Steiner and Tomko want nothing to do with it. Cage then recruits a reluctant Borash for the mission.
Back from the break and Mike Tenay, Leticia, Jeremy Borash, and SoCal Val are in the ring. Tenay says he is there to welcome the newest member of the TNA family and spanish broadcast team, Hector Guerrero. Hector says that it is a privilege to be part of the TNA family and thanks the fans, the Guerrero Family and his late brother Eddie, for inspiring him. Just as Mike Tenay was going to present Hector with a plaque, Abyss' music hit. The monster came to the ring and had a stare down with SoCal Val. Val tried to persuade the monster to leave by handing him the plaque, but was met with a vicious Black Hole Slam for her efforts.
Back in Jim Cornette's office, Jim announces a few more matches for Destination-X. He says that James Storm and Jackie Moore will face Petey Williams and Gail Kim in a "Double Bull Rope Match". He tells Sabin that his X-Division Title defense against Jerry Lynn will be a "2 out of 3 Falls Match". Then goes on to tell Mr. Backlund that Austin Starr or Senshi must lock in the Crossface Chicken Wing in order to win their match. Cornette thinks he's done, but Christy Hemme says that she wants a team of her choosing to face the Voodoo Kin Mafia at the PPV. Cornette reluctantly agrees.
The second match of the night saw Robert Roode, Eric Young, and James Storm take on the team of Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Petey Williams. Before the match could start, Sonjay wanted Lethal to do his Macho Man impersonation again. As Jay started Roode came in a hit Lethal from behind. The match was back and forth until Sonjay had the upper hand and went for a springboard moonsault. Just then Gail Kim came to the ring and attacked Jackie Moore. As Dutt looked on, James Storm hit him with the Superkick and got the victory.
JB and Christian Cage are in the back trying to get close to Abyss. Cage tells Abyss that everyone treats him like meat, but Cage would never do that. He tells Abyss that if he wants a family, he thinks that can be arranged. Cage then told Abyss that Borash was a peace offering and Abyss brutally assaulted JB and threw him into a cage.
A video of Team 3D is shown and Brother Devon tells LAX that in the "Ghetto Brawl" match at the PPV, there will be no referee or security to tell them what to do. Brother Ray then tells LAX that they will keep fighting untill they have revenge and the Tag Team Titles.
The main event begins as the Christian Coalition takes on Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and a mystery partner who is later revealed to be Rhino. After the referree finally restored order in the match, Rhino went to give Tomko a Gore, but AJ Styles came down and interfered. AJ climbed up the Elevation X, only to have Rhino chase right after him. Once Rhino got back down to the floor he was met with an attack from Cage and Tomko. After a quick ace cutter, Rhino tags in Angle and Kurt gives german suplexes to everyone in sight. Chaos ensues again as Rhino hits Tomko with a Gore, but is met with an Unprettier from Christain Cage. Joe hits Cage and gives him the Musclebuster, but Steiner gives Joe an overhead belly to belly suplex. Angle then gives Steiner an Olympic Slam and puts him in the Ankle Lock. Just as it seemed Steiner was going to tap, Abyss came to the ring and attacked Kurt. The lights go out and Sting is seen on one side of the arena, then almost immediately on the other side. The lights go out one more time and Sting is in the ring and begins the attack on Abyss as Impact ends.
World Wrestling Entertainment is saddened by the death of Allen Coage (professionally known as Bad News Brown). The former WWE Superstar passed away on Tuesday, March 6 in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He was 63.
Prior to entering WWE, Coage was a world-class athlete, competing and winning a bronze medal in Judo at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Perhaps his biggest victory in sports-entertainment came at WrestleMania IV, where he won a Battle Royal that included some of the industry's biggest stars.

When Mr. McMahon visited ECW on Sci Fi for the first time in January, he immediately made it clear that he looked upon the pioneers of ECW men like Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, Sabu and Rob Van Dam with disdain. The key to ECW future, he said, was new blood, young, polished, smart athletes like Elijah Burke, Matt Striker, Marcus Cor Von and Kevin Thorn.
And so the turf war between the ECW Originals and the New Breed a clash between ECWs past and present began. The members of both teams may hate to admit it, but they may have more in common than they realize. Once upon a time, as Dreamer pointed out on ECW on Sci Fi, he and the other ECW Originals were young, innovative and considered brash upstarts, just like the New Breed. And the members of the New Breed are hungry, eager to make their mark and to show their opponents and the sports-entertainment world that they are the present and the future in the Land of the Extreme.
When ECW began in Philadelphia more than a decade ago, the ECW Originals were that hungry. Now, the New Breed may have reignited that fire in the Originals. Well know for sure only after the smoke clears following the clash between both factions at WrestleMania 23.
Both sides have traded victories in singles and tag team competition for months on ECW on Sci Fi and neither has been able to gain a decisive advantage. But their Eight-Man Tag Team showdown at WrestleMania 23 may decide once and for all who will rule todays ECW and take it into the future.
When World Heavyweight Champion Batista steps into the ring at WrestleMania 23 to face Undertaker, he will be there to defend his title against the most impressive streak in the world of sports-entertainment. Fourteen wins and zero losses is the amazing record Undertaker has compiled throughout his career at WrestleManias WWE. Over the years, Undertaker has dismantled foe after foe en route to establishing a record that may never be approached again.
SmackDowns Kane is no stranger to Undertaker, as the two faced off at WrestleMania XIV and WrestleMania XX, respectively. Each time, Kane looked to end the streak, and both times was unable. The Big Red Monster, a man of few words, has an ominous message for The Animal heading toward April 1 in Detroit.
"Batistas chances are not good at all," said Kane. "14-0 at WrestleMania and Undertakers always at the top of his game. So odds arent good for Batista. He should try not to get dropped on his head, Kane continued. Hes got to be in tip-top form; Undertakers going to be. He has to be as good as he possibly can be on that particular night, or hes not going to have a chance. No one does.
Another Superstar familiar with Undertaker is Raw Superstar Randy Orton. The Legend Killer faced Undertaker at WrestleMania 21, when WrestleMania went Hollywood. The outcome of the match, however, was anything but a storybook ending for the third generation Superstar.
"I had all the pride and confidence as I headed into WrestleMania 21, and Undertaker had his way with me," said Orton. "I dont think theres much of a chance for Batista to win this one. I really hate saying that because Im all for the younger talent, the newer guys like myself," he continued. "Undertaker is Undertaker hes the Phenom. Hes a legend that cannot be killed, that cannot be destroyed."
Orton though, did reserve praise for the World Heavyweight Champion.
"Batista hes one of the biggest, strongest men in this business. Hes done things nobody would ever be able to do, or ever will be able to accomplish." Ortons praise quickly changed to a somber tone. This is one thing Batista and I have in common its that we cant beat Undertaker."
As for any advice he would have for former Evolution running mate Batista and what to expect, Randy Ortons message is clear.
"If you see the energy that [Undertaker] carried to the ring at WrestleMania, then youre prepared for what you will face at WrestleMania. That is where the magic happens. That is where the record lives, in those moments, in the energy Undertaker brings to the ring."
Perhaps the person with the greatest advice for Batista would be the man who faced Undertaker in a No Disqualification Match at WrestleMania X8 Ric Flair. The former 16-time World Champion believes differently than Orton and Kane.
"As great as I think Undertaker is, I think it might be Batistas time," Flair said. "Im not sure Undertaker can overpower Batista. A year ago I would not have said this, but Batista has gained tons of experience in this past year."
However, the Dirtiest Player in the Game feels that a match like this can be determined by one thing: desire.
"A match like this can come down to whoever wants it the most, Flair said. Undertaker and I had a brawl at WrestleMania X8 at the SkyDome foreign objects involved, and lots blood," he continued. "If it comes down to that, Undertaker is dangerous, and could be more prone to succeed."
April 1 in Detroit, at WrestleMania 23, the only opinions that will matter are those of the World Heavyweight Champion Batista and the challenger to his title, the man with the perfect record of 14-0 at WrestleMania Undertaker.
Rattlesnake's return By Zack Zeigler Written: March 5, 2007Monday night on Raw, the familiar sound of breaking glass that signals Stone Cold Steve Austins entrance reverberated through the speakers of the sold-out US Airways Center in Phoenix. As Austin descended toward the ring amid a booming applause that shook the arena walls, the question of who would be the special guest referee at WrestleMania 23s Battle of the Billionaires was definitively answered.
Stone Cold realizes hes been away from a WWE ring for quite some time. Regardless, if anyone believes that an extended absence is enough to take the venom out of the Texas Rattlesnake, Austin dares them to think again. In fact, the former WWE Champion told WWE.com that he will emphasize his point live and in person on ECW from Tucson (10/9 CT tonight on Sci Fi), where he plans to raise hell and toss back a fewbeers and ECW Superstars, if need be.
Its anticipated that the mudhole-stompin Texan will show up to reveal his views on proper officiating. But given his history with Mr. McMahon, can Austin call the Battle of the Billionaires down the middle? Will past bias cloud the Rattlesnakes judgment? Expect some stunning answers when Stone Cold visits the Land of Extreme tonight on ECW on Sci Fi.

For the brightest stars in Hollywood, Sunday will be one of the biggest nights of the year as the 79th annual Academy Awards is broadcast from the Kodak Theatre. For the brightest stars in the squared-circle, kicking back and enjoying a movie can be the perfect way to spend a well-deserved night off. With talented actors like Meryl Streep, Peter OToole, Judi Dench and Forest Whitaker vying for Oscar gold, the telecast is bound to be enthralling. WWE.com checked in with some of the biggest film buffs in sports-entertainment to get their personal Oscar favorites.
First stop: The Miz. As a resident of Los Angeles and former Reality TV contestant, The Miz truly has his finger on the pulse of entertainment. The cocky SmackDown Superstar started off by giving his own version of an Oscar acceptance speech.
I would like to thank the Oscars for closing down Hollywood Boulevard, which is right near my house. Traffic has been hell all week, so I just want to thank you, Oscars!
What about The Mizs picks for best actress? To be honest, The Devil Wears Prada was a horrible movie, and Meryl Streep is the most-overrated actress. Kate Winslet Titanic was her mainstay, now shes just whoever. I think Penelope Cruz is going to win because shes hot!
Fellow Los Angelino Joey Mercury refused to be boxed in by nominations when choosing a winner for best picture, I dont see it nominated, but Borat! Thats my personal favorite. Out of the ones on the list, I choose The Departed. It hooked me, swerved me and took me in every single direction. I really enjoyed it.
ECW Extremist CM Punk also went with The Departed for best picture, It is simply an excellent movie, reflected the straightedge Punk. Im going to pick Leonardo DiCaprio in Blood Diamond for best actor, just because he was so good in The Departed. I hate Leonardo DiCaprio, so it pains me to even say that!
To find out who wins, and who goes home empty-handed, catch the Oscars on Sunday night.

OFFICIAL IMPACT RESULTS FROM THURSDAY 2/22 By "Mighty" Mike Kerrigan
The ominous steel structure of the Elevation X lowers to the ground as iMPACT! starts. The Phenomenal AJ Styles climbs the structure and says "If you want to be the greatest, you have to raise the bar. And it doesn't get much higher than MY invention -- Elevation X. At Destination X, I'll give someone the opportunity to become famous, because you'll never be phenomenal." Rhino's music hits and he climbs Elevation X as AJ retreats. Rhino tell AJ that he has run from the War Machine for the last time and the AJ's invention will be responsible for the end of AJ's career.
The "Belting Pot" match begins as Team 3D squares off against LAX, with the goombas and latinos in their respective corners. The match goes back and forth with each team's gang being able to get their licks on the opposite team. Things really go crazy when there is a standoff between the two gangs when Hernandez and Brother Devon lay next to each other on the floor. The gang warfare ensues as Brother Ray and Cousin Steve Shirippa hold down Homicide and Brother Devon lands a flying headbutt to the groin. Hernandez tries to clothesline Cousin Steve as he helps tell Devon to get the tables, but he is met with a 3D. Team 3D gain the victory and celebrate in the ring with their goombas.
Sting is shown laying on a "deathbed" and tells Abyss that his life will change very soon. He goes on to say "At Destination X, after I strap you to this bed, you're going to have to decide how you will live this side of eternity. Will you choose darkness or life? The choice is yours and yours alone, because the devil isn't in your ear any longer. Jeremy Borash tries to get a reaction from Abyss, but is met with a choke and a slam into a steel fence.
The second match of the night starts as Robert Roode, Eric Young, and James Storm take on the Voodoo Kin Mafia and Lance Hoyt. Eric starts off the match with BG James, and the two start dancing. Roode doesn't like what ensues, so he gets in the ring; only to meet up with big Lance Hoyt. Roode tags in Storm, and Lance lays him out and goes high risk. Roode grabs Hoyt's leg and makes him hit the turnbuckle. Storm takes advantage and grabs the tights to get the victory. Yet, the celebration is short lived as Wildcat Chris Harris jumps from the crowd and chases Storm into the locker room area.
A video of Christopher Daniels is shown with the Fallen Angel making a cryptic message -- "People say time changes things, but you have to change yourself. And I will have to be able to sacrifice what I am, for the sake of what I will become."
NFL great and "Pros vs Joes" star, Andre Rison is in the ring with Don West. Rison says that it felt great to show who were the Pros and who were the Joes in his time with the show on Spike. Abyss hits the ring and Rison extends his hand, but is met with a huge Black Hole Slam.
Another Paparazzi Productions video is aired showing more from Paparazzi Idol. Nash tells Jay Lethal that the white man is holding him back and tells Lethal to start using the race card as Kevin has used throughout his career.
Mike Tenay and Jim Cornette are in the ring for the contract signing for Scott Steiner vs. Kurt Angle at Destination-X. Steiner tells Angle that after he beats Kurt, he will melt down his Olympic medal, yet doubts he will even get enough to buy a cup of coffee. Angle says he will make an example of Steiner and show the world that the business no longer needs money hungry, whiney, b*&@#%$ anymore. They both sign the contract and have a stare off. Steiner takes a cheap shot and headbutts Kurt with his chain mail. Kurt tries to fight back, but Christian Cage and Tomko come out to help with the beat down.
A video of Samoa Joe starts where Joe says "For 20 months I've been denied. For 20 months I've been put to the side. For 20 months they tried to ignore me. The will ignore me no more. -- Christian Cage will soon learn why they call me the Samoan Submission Machine.
Next is the Impact main event, where Austin Starr, Senshi, Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, and Jerry Lynn battle it out in a ladder match to determine the number one contender for the X-Division championship. Things start out wildly as Dutt and Lethal take advantage of their speed and agility and take out Starr and Senshi with a baseball slide into a ladder followed by plachas onto their opponents. Three ladders are then aligned into the middle of the ring and all 5 men try to reach for the X hanging from the ceiling. Jerry Lynn then powerbombs Dutt and Lethal and jumps back onto the ladder. As Senshi and Starr focus on each other, Lynn takes advantage and shoves both men off the ladder and on to the mat. He grabs the X and earns himself the right to battle Chris Sabin for the title. Yet, before the show could end, Bob Backlund congratulates Lynn and tries to shake Austin Starr's hand. Starr refuses and throws his sweat at Backlund and tries to attack him. Bob is able to counter and put Starr into the crossface chicken wing, as iMPACT! ends.
