Later, the referee was caught in a compromising situation with Madison Rayne - leading many to wonder about his call in the match!

After the match, Kiyoshi and Sheik Abdul Bashir joined the Invasion in their attack on Team 3D, but Brother Ray and Devon turned them back and put Bashir through a table!
- In a match between the ladies of the Main Event Mafia, Jenna defeated Sharmell. During the bout, Awesome Kong hit the ring and knocked out both Sharmell and later Jenna! Kong then dragged Jenna's unconscious body on top of Sharmell, giving Jenna the pin and the win!
- Main Event Mafia member Kevin Nash defeated "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles to win the TNA Legends Championship, after Nash caught a quick win over Styles! Styles' offense had Nash on the ropes, but "Big Sexy" gained the upper hand when he used the referee to make Styles lose his balance during a springboard. Nash hit a desperation chokeslam and scored the win to get the gold!
- In another huge win for the Main Event Mafia, Booker T and Scott Steiner defeated Beer Money to become the new titleholders! Booker and Steiner worked like a machine, with Booker ultimately hitting the Axe Kick on Robert Roode to win the championship.
- "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe defeated Sting in a bout that featured the TNA Wrestling debut of Taz! As Joe was trapped in Sting's deathlock finisher, Taz made his debut turned the momentum in Joe's favor. From the moment Taz came out, Joe took over on "The Icon" and got the win over the legend with the clutch! After the bout, Joe and Taz knocked fists and left the arena united - tune in Thursday on SpikeTV for the "iMPACT!" debut of Taz!
- In the main event, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle retained his gold against Mick Foley in the first-ever singles bout between the two superstars! Foley put up one hell of a battle against Angle, but in the end the Olympic Gold Medalist forced Foley to tap with the Ankle Lock. After the bout, the Main Event Mafia filled the ring to celebrate their total domination with Kurt Angle!

In case you have noticed, Mike Knox has not appeared on television since the May 29th, 2009 episode of Friday Night Smackdown, which saw him to lose to The Great Khali and R-Truth in a tag match after Dolph Ziggler walked out on him. His status in WWE remains unclear, but some reports have circulated online saying he is in the doghouse and perhaps even in line to be let go.
-- WWE Diva Eve Torres seems to be dealing with a small neck problem. She noted on her Twitter that she is getting her stretched out at a local non-surgical spine care center in Southern California.
Internally, it is believed that Tony Atlas is on his way out of WWE. Many feel he was solely brought back a year ago as a favor because he was dealing with some financial issues. There is hope that the WWE Hall of Famer saved the money he made during his latest run, not to mention use the television exposure he received over the past year to generate more bookings on the independent circuit.
Former TNA Knockout/wrestler Roxxi will be debuting in Ring of Honor under her old name (Nikki Roxx) at the August 14 TV tapings for HDNet in Philadelphia, PA.
A man claiming to work for TNA called into the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show Wednesday morning to say that Karen Angle and her children were presently living with Jeff Jarrett. The man noted that TNA president Dixie Carter was irate and threatening to fire Jarrett or buy his company stake out as a result of the situation. Bubba tried to call Kurt Angle to confirm this person's story, but he did not answer his phone.
For what it's worth, Kurt said during his memorable appearance on The Howard Stern Show back in March that Karen had an affair with a fellow TNA wrestler. Kurt claimed she'd stay out all night and later tell him she was hanging out with friends in the hotel lobby. Kurt said he cheated on her "a couple of times" while they were separated, but felt she slept around to get back at him. Kurt said he didn't want to reveal the name and seemed to be real awkward about the situation.
Karen filed for divorce from Kurt last September, which was later finalized on October 26, 2008.

Unified Tag Team Champion Chris Jericho & Dolph Ziggler def. Jeff Hardy & Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio (Disqualification) (VIDEO | PHOTOS) The animosity between the polar opposite Night of Champion opponents, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Jeff Hardy, reached a new level of intensity. After listening to one insult too many, Hardy abruptly ended the confrontation, knocking the World Champion to the canvas. (VIDEO | PHOTOS)
Later, in the culmination of a spectacular tag team main event, Jeff Hardy threw Jericho in The Straightedge Champions direction as he was sitting at the broadcast table. Punk then tossed Jericho into Hardy, knocking his Night of Champions challenger into the unforgiving steel steps disqualifying he and Rey Mysterio in the process. After the match, the smiling United Tag Team Champion hooked in the Walls of Jericho to the war-torn Charismatic No. 1 Contender while Punk looked on indifferently from outside the ring.
John Morrison def. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk (Non-title) (VIDEO | PHOTOS) For the second time in three weeks, The Friday Night Delight used a quick counter to score a second non-title victory over World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. The reason why theres no prognosis on Edge is because theyre waiting for him to go back in for examination after a couple weeks. After he starts rehab, about 10 days later theyll see how hes responding and will have a better idea of when hell be able to return. Achilles tendon injuries are very serious and it could take up to a year for Edge to get back close to where he was before the tendon tore.

TNA wrestler Abyss says he has turned down three separate offers from the folks at WWE out of loyalty for the company that put him on international TV. Abyss, real name Chris Parks, says that WWEs interest level in signing him to a deal was high.
"I've had opportunities to go there," Abyss said on the U.K. Sun's WrestleCast show. "There was high interest from WWE, but I just haven't had any interest in going. I'm one of the originals, I've been with TNA since the one year anniversary of the company, and very few people in this business can say they've been there from the beginning."

Cryme Tyme (w/ Eve) def. The Hart Dynasty (w/ Natalya) (PHOTOS | WATCH) For the last few weeks, Cryme Tyme and The Hart Dynasty have been one upping each other in the ring, trying to prove who the better team is. Following an impressive victory tonight, JTG & Shad can celebrate being on top after JTG got a hot tag and left Tyson Kidd looking up at the lights with a modified backbreaker. Although, as these teams have shown each other, Cryme Tyme better keep their celebration to a minimum and keep their focus, or it will be David Hart Smith & Kidd celebrating next time.
Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio accepts Dolph Zigglers Night of Champions challenge (PHOTOS) With a hard-fought title defense in the books last Friday, Mysterio was attacked from behind by Dolph Ziggler and on WWE Superstars, that was all that was on The Master of the 619s mind. After a few moments, the Hollywood, Fla. native made his entrance, and then after a brief moment, enticed Mysterio to accept a challenge to defend the Intercontinental Title against Ziggler at Night of Champions. Accepting the challenge wasnt all Rey wanted to do, as he lured the young brash Superstar to ringside and quickly attacked him before Ziggler could finally escape to the back. Does Mysterio have Ziggler right where he wants him? Or is The Master of the 619 playing into the Hollywood, Fla, natives plans?
Brie Bella (w/ Nikki Bella) def. Katie Lea Burchill (PHOTOS | WATCH) Going one-on-one with any Superstar or Diva is quite a daunting task, and when it becomes two-on-one, the odds seem insurmountable; at least thats what Katie Lea Burchill has experienced as of late. When the English Diva seems to have the win in her hands, Brie & Nikki pull the all too familiar switch-a-roo leaving Katie back up against a fresh opponent. This week was no different either as after Brie was sent to the outside by Katie Lea, Nikki laid down next to her and claimed to be the real Brie. When the referee had to differentiate between which was which, it was Nikki who he thought was really Brie, which left Brie on the outside and Nikki, the fresh sister, on the inside to roll up Katie Lea for the win for Brie. If you think thats confusing, you should try being the one trying to fight against them.
Big Show def. United States Champion Kofi Kingston (PHOTOS | WATCH) In recent weeks, The Worlds Largest Athlete has been trying to make several different Superstars lives hell, including that of The Jamaican Superstar. After Kofi came to Evan Bournes aid on Raw, it was only a matter of time before Big Show was going to try to even the score, and with the two going one-on-one Thursday night, The Worlds Largest Athlete saw his opportunity to do just that. Despite fighting valiantly, there was no luck in this David vs. Goliath story for Kofi and when the end bell rang, it was Kingston incapacitated on the mat after Big Show flattened him with a vicious chokeslam. With Night of Champions just weeks away, were sure The Jamaican Superstar would love to concentrate on who he will be defending his gold against, but with no opponent yet announced, and Big Show tormenting him and his friends, that just doesnt seem to be in the cards.
