The Sun out of the United Kingdom has published an article on WWE confirming that Umaga was released from WWE due to his second Wellness Policy violation and his unwillingness to attend a rehabilitation facility. The article states that the company waited on announcing the drug test failure due to the unusual nature of the termination. WWE officials had to review the policy since he didnt fall foul of the 'three strikes and you're out' rule.
As noted before, the WWE creative team didnt have much for Kane which is why he hasnt been on TV lately. Word going around is that Kane also wanted to take some time off to let various injuries heal up. Hes had problems with his knees and wanted some time to heal rather than keep working until surgery would be necessary. Theres no date right now on when Kane will return. Kane is considered one of the companys real life success stories as hes made good money, hasnt lived a high lifestyle, is still in good shape and has saved money. Kane is said to be one of the few guys who will make his own decision when his career ends and not have finances control the end of his career or have WWE want to get rid of him for being a problem.

This is a breakout job for any young singer. Please specify on submissions if anyone has appeared on American Idol, making the Band or any show of this comparison.
WWE.com posted the following this morning regarding the release of Umaga earlier this week:
As reported on WWE.com on Monday, June 8, 2009, WWE Superstar Umaga (Edward Fatu) has been released from his World Wrestling Entertainment contract.
However, consistent with the practice of announcing wellness policy violations, it should be noted that Umaga's termination was due to his second violation of the WWE Wellness Program and his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility.
Former WWE Diva Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria) posted a new blog on her MySpace page where she talks about her reasons for leaving WWE. Heres what she wrote:
A few people have asked me why I chose to go to TNA. Not nearly as many as have suggested that I go to TNA over the past couple years, but it has been been asked. Before I can answer that, I have to address why I left WWE. I left because I didnt enjoy my role, and I didnt see it changing. That, in addition to the brutal travel schedule, made it an easy choice for me to walk away and leave the opportunity available to one of the scores of female wrestlers who were anxiously awaiting their chance.
TNA approached me with the offer to come to their organization, work a less rigorous schedule, and more importantly, wrestle to the best of my ability with no limitations.
Several people have debated whether this will effect my chance at one day being elected into the WWE Hall of Fame. I am flattered at my name even being mentioned with such an honor. And whether or not you believe that I am worthy, I really dont think that WWE will hold it against me for doing other things after I left. I truly believe that I gave 100% every day with WWE, and that I went above and beyond what was expected of me. I think that if I am happy with my choices, then they are happy for me. Of course they took me off their website. They cant promote talent with another organization. But again, Id like to think that on a personal level, they are happy for me.
The only serious considerations I had were 1) Would I still be able to train for MMA? 2) Do I miss wrestling and want to do it on a regular basis? 3) Can I entertain TNA fans in a way that they deserve to be entertained?
I believe so to all three. I still have time to dedicate to MMA. I definitely miss wrestling. And my goal is not only to be the best in a very tough Knockout division, but to elevate the performance of the entire division.
Thursday night on TNA Impact on SpikeTV I have my first match in about five months, and my first in a six sided ring. For those who havent seen TNA recently, I think you should tune in. Because for those of you who do, youll see a female wrestler in the best shape of her life, at the top of her game, beginning a new journey.
Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes def. Nikki & Brie Bella Evan Bourne def. Zack Ryder Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho def. John Morrison
This week on WWE Superstars on WGN America, four of the hottest Divas and four of the toughest Superstars found themselves doing battle. With the new, nine-time Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho taking on The Shaman of Sexy John Morrison, Evan Air Bourne facing off against Zack Ryder and Brie & Nikki Bella in Diva tag team action against Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes, it was certainly a night of hard-hitting action.

Beth Phoenix & Rosa Mendes def. Brie & Nikki Bella (PHOTOS | WATCH) Sexy, smart and powerful defines WWEs Divas, and these four women are no exception. The Bella Twins put on an impressive display of tag team work as the ladies controlled Rosa Mendes in the ring. However, as soon as the dominant Beth Phoenix got the tag, things suddenly took a turn for the worse. The Glamazon used her awesome power to hold the twins at bay, but it was the guts of Nikki that put the beautiful twins back on track. Nikki hit the former Womens Champion with a facebuster, seemingly having Phoenix under wraps. As the Divas know, one can never count Beth Phoenix out. A skirmish outside the ring between Brie and Phoenixs assistant-turned-protégé Rosa gave The Glamazon just the opening she needed, catching Nikki off-guard with a devastating Glam Slam and getting the three-count.
Evan Bourne def. Zack Ryder (PHOTOS | WATCH) In a match between two of ECWs youngest and brightest Superstars, there was no telling what might happen Thursday night. Quickly after the match got underway, Zack Ryder smartly attempted to ground Evan Bourne and focus on the ribs that were injured at the hands of Mark Henry on ECW this week. Though, as many of his friends and foes alike could tell you, Air Bourne isnt going to stay down for long and brought out all the stops to floor Ryder. After regaining control and giving a few woo woo woos to our fans, the obnoxious Long Islander seemed to have Bourne right where he wanted him, planning a high-impact maneuver off the top rope, but that decision proved to be his downfall. Feeling at home on top of the turnbuckle, Bourne sent Ryder falling hard on his back and followed up with a death-defying Shooting Star Press and the pin. Victorious just days after a vicious beating at the hands of Mark Henry, Air Bourne certainly sent a message to The Worlds Strongest Man that he wont go down without a fight.
Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho def. John Morrison (PHOTOS | WATCH) Just days after unmasking Rey Mysterio and beginning an unfathomable ninth Intercontinental Championship reign at Extreme Rules, Chris Jericho returned to Thursday nights to once again prove why WWE Superstars is his show. Thankfully, The Friday Night Delight John Morrison came one night early to save the WWE Universe from having to sit through another one of Jerichos long-winded tirades. It seemed as though The Shaman of Sexy had the abrasive Superstars number as well, with Morrison countering all the Codebreakers, Lionsaults & Walls of Jericho the Intercontinental Champion could throw at him. In the end, however, it was a simple miscalculation and a handful of tights that gave the first-ever Undisputed Champion the victory, sneaking away with a win against Morrison. Although he lost this time, The Shaman of Sexy proved once again why he is one of the fastest-rising Superstars on SmackDown and throughout the entire WWE.
On Wednesday, a report in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter said that a topic of discussion backstage at RAW this week was the rumor that Rey Mysterio had given his notice to quit WWE. The rumor, though never reported as anything but such, relied on the fact that Mysterio did not work this week's television as evidence of its possible validity.
PWInsider.com, however, reports that Mysterio had already planned to miss this week's tapings to rest his knee which has been bothering him as of late. WWE appears to have no intention of abandoning his program with Chris Jericho, with sources believing that Mysterio is indeed staying with the company.
While the Mysterio rumor was a big part of locker room discussion Monday, it appears his fans can breathe easily for the time being.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that Rey Mysterio was not at the WWE's TV tapings this week. According to Meltzer, the word going around backstage is that he gave notice and is leaving the company. However, this story has not been confirmed yet and therefore it remains only a rumor. Mysterio is currently still on the lineups for this weekend's house shows.
UPDATED: Batista has undergone surgery for injuries sustained during The Legacy's attack on Raw. The Animal's torn left biceps has been successfully reattached and he is expected to return to active competition in four months.
To follow up on the surprising story from yesterday that Umaga had been released from his WWE contract, PWInsider.com reports that WWE sources say it was a situation where he just had to be let go. What that quote means is anyones guess because the sources didnt specify, but there have apparently been behavior-related issues with Umaga in the past.
Umaga is telling people he left under his own free will, and while that could be true, it seems unlikely as he just made his return and worked hard to come back.
According to Bryan Alvarez, Tommy Dreamer has signed a new contract with WWE following the Extreme Rules PPV. It is rumored that he signed a three to five year deal. As it turns out, him telling people over the weekend that he was leaving was a swerve. With his other options, the feeling is that he made the right decision to stay with the company and could eventually be offered some kind of agent deal by WWE when he is retired from wrestling.
Evan Bourne def. WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas Vladmir Kozlov def. two local competitors (2-on-1 Handicap Match) The Hart Dynasty def. Christian & Jack Swagger
New ECW Champion Tommy Dreamers contract signing was marred by scandal on Tuesday night. But the ECW Original returned to make a bold statement just days before hell defend the Extreme Title on Raws 3-For-All Monday.
The Hart Dynasty def. Christian & Jack Swagger (PHOTOS | WATCH) Two former Extreme Champions, Jack Swagger and Christian, interrupted ECW Champion Tommy Dreamers moment in the spotlight Tuesday night, as Swagger demanded the ECW Original be stripped of his title and Christian insisted on a rematch. Before Dreamer could ink his ECW deal, he and Captain Charisma quieted The All-American American by tossing him out of the ring. But after Dreamer signed his way back into ECW, Christian threw him into the table in the ring, and their main event tag team match against The Hart Dynasty was nixed. Instead, ECWs interim General Manager, Tiffany, told Christian hed have to team with Swagger instead. (WATCH: CONTRACT SIGNING | WATCH: DREAMER WINS AT EXTREME RULES)
Christian & Swagger were unable to put their differences aside when they faced The Hart Dynasty on Tuesday night. While Natalya distracted the referee, The All-American American stopped his tag team partner from hitting the Killswitch on Tyson Kidd, pulling him into the top rope, allowing The Hart Dynasty to hit The Hart Attack. Then, David Hart Smith pinned Captain Charisma for the victory. As The Hart Dynasty and Swagger brutally attacked Christian after the match, ECW Champion Dreamer ran into the ring. The ECW Original stopped the attack on Christian, by assaulting Swagger with a Singapore Cane, while Kidd, Hart Smith & Natalya retreated up the ring before Dreamer could get to them, too.
Dreamer will defend the ECW Championship against Christian on Mondays three-hour Raw 3-For-All. Will Christian reclaim the title, causing Dreamers time as Extreme Champion to be short- lived? Or will the ECW Original continue to hold ECW gold? Watch Raw Monday at its special start time of 8/7 CT on USA Network.
Evan Bourne def. WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas (PHOTOS | WATCH) Evan Air Bourne beat the odds by defeating Mark Henry two weeks in a row on ECW, but WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas was determined to prove to The Worlds Strongest Man that he could crush the high-flying Superstar. This week, Bourne pinned Atlas after another amazing Shooting Star Press, angering Henry even more. Bournes victory celebration was cut short when Henry attacked Bourne, laying him out with a Worlds Strongest Slam. Has Henry gotten the last laugh on Bourne? Or will Bourne return to continue to defeat The Worlds Strongest Man and his associate?
Vladmir Kozlov def. two local competitors (2-on-1 Handicap Match) (PHOTOS) The Moscow Mauler returned to action on ECW Tuesday night, once again defeating two local competitors in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match. Kozlov has been unstoppable since arriving in the Land of the Extreme. Who will dare to face this dominant force next?
Rob Van Dam was a guest on The LAW Sunday night with Dan "The Mouth" Lovranski and Jason Agnew on Sirius 98 Hardcore Sports Radio. During the interview, Van Dam talked about a number of topics, including RVD TV, Chris Masters returning to WWE, Tommy Dreamer winning the ECW title and more.
While he did talk about enjoying his time away from the wrestling business, it's interesting to note that during the interview, he revealed that TNA Wrestling has been in "constant contact" with him as recently as this past week.
On Tuesday afternoon, World Wrestling Entertainment announced that Batista will be having surgery on his arm this week and will miss upto four months of action. With Batista out of action until October, he'll be unable to defend the WWE Championship and a new champion must be crowned.
During tonight's ECW on Sci-Fi broadcast, WWE announced how they will be handling the situation. On Monday night, a new WWE champion will be crowned in North Carolina during the 3-hour Three-For-All Raw special. It will be John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Big Show vs. Triple H for the WWE title.
Also announced on ECW for Raw, ECW Champion Tommy Dreamer will make his first title defense against Christian.
According to SuperLuchas Magazine, TNA is again looking to bring in some lucha talent to the promotion. On the suggestion of Hector Guerrero, they are currently considering Mistico and Cibernetico.
It is being reported that they have already met with Mistico, and that they hope to meet with Cibernetico soon.
As of right now, sources within TNA claim that the company is interested in both Mr. Kennedy and Umaga. One member of upper management sees dollar signs in a program with Umaga and Samoa Joe.
Kennedy and Umaga's 90-day no-compete clauses with WWE will be expiring just a couple weeks apart from each other late in the summer.

LAFAYETTE, La. Though Batista defeated him for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules, Randy Orton was positive hed once against hold the title after he and his Legacy brutally assaulted The Animal at the top of the show. However, as The Viper waited for their rematch to be ruled a forfeit, he was confronted by a whole different type of animal: A furious, returning Triple H.
Triple H returned, attacking The Legacy and causing WWE Champion Batista vs. Randy Orton to end in a no contest (PHOTOS | WATCH) Flanked by his Legacy, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, Randy Orton took to the ring to invoke his rematch clause against WWE Champion Batista. Earlier in the night, the multi-generational Superstars attacked The Animal, injuring him so severely that he was taken from the arena in an ambulance, making his participation in a match unlikely. As The Viper waited for the count of 10 (at which point he would have won the WWE Title by forfeit), an ambulance approached the Cajun Dome. But the Superstar who emerged from the emergency vehicle may have been the last person Orton expected: Triple H.
The Game rushed to the ring with his signature sledgehammer, taking out Rhodes & DiBiase before turning his focus to his long-time nemesis. Triple H then brutally assaulted Orton with chairs, monitors and a thunderous Pedigree onto a waiting steel chair.
Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase def. Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo in a non-title match (PHOTOS | WATCH) Perhaps taking a lesson from their mentor, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase have become intent on winning some gold of their own, specifically the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship. On Raw, they faced off against the present titleholders Carlito & Primo. Though the gold wasnt on the line in this match, at stake was a future title opportunity if Rhodes & DiBiase could defeat their opponents. The Legacy showed their dominance as DiBiase pinned Primo, ensuring that the two tag teams would meet again in the near future.
Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero quit and Edge reiterated the he would be divorcing her (PHOTOS | WATCH) Referencing Randy Ortons upcoming rematch, Vickie Guerrero stated that making the WWE fans happy was the last thing on her mind. The Raw General Manager went on to berate the WWE Universe for not showing her sympathy after her loss to Santina Marella in a Hog Pen Match at Extreme Rules. Refusing to be humiliated anymore, Guerrero then quit her job as GM.
After her shocking announcement, she was joined in the ring by her estranged husband, Edge. The Rated-R Superstar reiterated his feelings from the night before, announcing that he plans to divorce Guerrero and adding that the only reason he married her was to use her power. After The Master Manipulator left his soon-to-be ex-wife, Vickie Guerrero broke down screaming in the middle of the ring.
MVP def. Matt Hardy (PHOTOS) MVP came to the ring declaring that he wants to be considered for the impending WWE Championship match on next weeks first-ever WWE 3-For-All, a special three-hour Raw featuring all three WWE brands with a World Championship Match from each. The Franchise Playa went on to prove he deserves a title match by defeating the nefarious Matt Hardy by pinfall.
John Cena vs. The Miz ended in a no contest (PHOTOS | WATCH) Ever since coming to Raw in the 2009 WWE Draft, The Miz has been a perpetual annoyance to John Cena (as well as the WWE Universe). The self-proclaimed chick magnet has subjected his would-be rival to an endless stream of taunts, threats and insults, while spuriously claiming victories over the former World Heavyweight Champion. But when Cena finally had an opportunity to shut The Miz up, they were interrupted by Big Show, before the match could even begin.
The Worlds Largest Athlete, bitter over his loss to Cena at Extreme Rules, attacked, chokeslamming Cena and placing him in the dreaded Cobra Clutch Backbreaker. As the former World Heavyweight Champion struggled to break out of the hold, The Miz struck, clobbering Big Show with a steel chair before doling out the same treatment to Cena.
Santino Marella, Goldust & Festus def. Chavo Guerrero, The Brian Kendrick & Jamie Noble (PHOTOS) In a tag team match featuring some of WWEs most colorful Superstars, the team of Santino Marella, Goldust & Festus took on Chavo Guerrero, The Brian Kendrick & Jamie Noble. The combined talent and wrestling know-how of Guerrero, Kendrick & Noble just wasnt enough to propel them to victory, however, as Marella pinned Noble for the win.
Divas Champion Maryse def. Kelly Kelly (PHOTOS | WATCH) Two weeks ago on Raw, Kelly Kelly defeated Maryse in a battle for the Divas Championship, but as the win came by disqualification, she was unable to obtain the title. The sexy, smart and powerful Kelly got another chance though as she took on Maryse once again, with Mickie James sitting at ringside to provide additional commentary. As the fan-favorite Mickie gave her opinion on both competitors, the Divas Champion defeated her opponent, ensuring that the coveted title will continue to belong to her. Following the match, Maryse added insult to injury by slapping Kelly, but was quick to retreat when Mickie entered the ring.
United States Champion Kofi Kingston def. William Regal; Randy Orton invoked his rematch clause after WWE Champion Batista was taken away in an ambulance (PHOTOS) As William Regal made his way to the ring to take on United States Champion Kofi Kingston in this non-title match, he explained why he should be the one to represent the United States, in a typically offensive and degrading fashion. In spite of his arguments, however, The Jamaican Superstar showed why the title really belongs around his waist by promptly dispatching the arrogant British Brawler.
Prior to Kingstons match against the devious Regal, the WWE Universe learned that WWE Champion Batista had been taken away from the Cajun Dome in an ambulance due to injuries sustained in The Legacys attack on The Animal. This made Ortons words in the locker room area that much more distressing, as he announced that he was going to be invoking his rematch clause later in the night, and if Batista failed to show, The Viper would win the WWE title by forfeit.
Randy Orton and The Legacy brutally assaulted WWE Champion Batista and took his title (PHOTOS | WATCH) Addressing a joyous WWE Universe for the first time since winning the WWE Title, Batista opened Raw by addressing his mentor, Hall of Famer Ric Flair. As The Animal explained that he won his first-ever WWE Championship for Naitch, himself and all the WWE fans who were sick of Randy Orton, he was interrupted by The Viper himself. Without saying a word, Orton and his minions, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, assaulted the WWE Champion, overcoming him with their superior numbers and focusing on The Animal's left arm - even going so far as to lock it into a steel chair. The attack was brutal, necessitating that medical personnel rush to Batistas side as The Legend Killer made off with his rivals WWE Title.

According to Dave Meltzer. Umaga is telling people that he quit WWE. However, there is a lot of speculation that his release had something to do with the Wellness Policy.
In what might be related news, the WWE's creative team was told not to write in several names for next week's three-hour RAW. It's quite possible that there will be more suspensions so stay tuned as this could end up being a very interesting week in WWE.
- On this morning's Wrestling Observer radio show, host Bryan Alvarez commented on Batista's latest injury, stating that there may be more to the situation than what has been reported. He speculated that, "Someting occured, it just may not have been a muscle tear issue." We'll see if there's anything to this in the coming days.
- Ken Anderson, formerly Mr. Kennedy in WWE, posted a message on his Twitter page addressing reports that Batista has torn his biceps muscle and will require surgery. Kennedy wrote, "I know everyone's saying stuff about Batista, but I gotta say that he's one of the best guys in the locker room. No ego, always trying to help."
