Regarding Sami Zayn's shoulder injury suffered on last night's RAW in Montreal, the injury apparently came before the match with WWE United States Champion John Cena even began. As Zayn was making his entrance, he was raising his arms to get the crowd hype and it looked like something happened to the shoulder then.
Zayn started showing signs of an injury then but worked the match anyway. As seen during the match, the referee threw up a "X" symbol and a WWE trainer checked on Zayn before he was allowed to finish. Sami did appear on the stage for the post-RAW Pat Patterson Appreciation Night segment but his shoulder was bandaged up.
As noted, Zayn will be having a MRI today to find out how bad the injury is. It should be noted that Zayn was away from the NXT ring with an injury until April 2nd with a shoulder injury.
Last night's match is being called Zayn's official RAW debut but we don't know yet if this means he is on the main roster for good. Zayn is scheduled for more upcoming WWE TV tapings but that could obviously change with the MRI results.
- It's believed that there is little time left on The Undertaker's current WWE contract, according to Wrestling Observer Radio. Obviously Taker is expected to work with WWE after he retires from the ring and some kind of deal would likely be signed beyond thestandardLegends deal
Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling will be hosting a press conference at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas this Wednesday at 1pm EST to begin their roster reveal.
GFW is teasing a special guest to help with the reveal. They tweeted the following:
Update on #GFW Roster, Who They Are Reaching Out To
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Wrestling have been reaching out to a large number of wrestlers and talent lately. It is reported that Jarrett is looking to sign a number of#ROH and #TNA stars with soon-to-be expiring contracts or recent frer agents. The top name on their list is Roderick Strong, with Team 3D (fkaThe Dudleys - ECW), Shelton Benjamin and Chris Masters also being looked at.
It's being said Jarrett is offering some of the wrestlers the "possibility" of working 39 dates for GFW.
As we reported earlier, TNA Star Jeff Hardy suffered a nasty leg break following an accident on his dirt bike. Jeff underwent surgery today and all indications are he will make a full recovery. Jeff suffered a broken tibia and surgery was required to set the bone back in place.
Jeffs brother and one half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions, Matt Hardy just confirmed that Jeffs surgery was a success.
Word going around is that Jeffs injury does have a major impact on creative plans surrounding the TNA tag team division. There were already plans revolving around the Hardys through at least Slammiversary.
TNA has moved The Great Sanada to their Alumni roster, indicating his departure. James Storm recently mentioned on Impact that we would never see Sanada again.
TNA Knockout Havok posted a blog entry today regarding rumors of late pay within the company. Here is an excerpt of what was wrote:
I've noticed over the last few weeks, that TNA is getting a lot of heat for numerous things. "Dirt Sheets" are reporting this and that, from "Sources" unknown. Fans are ridiculing the company without knowing what is going on, and people in general are just hating on, and hoping for the end of the company. "Sources" have even told "dirt sheets" that TNA fired me when they brought Kong in etc etc.
So last night, i tweeted that I never left TNA, and i've always gotten paid, so either support the company or shut up. Some of you guys didn't like that, i admit i could have worded it differently. One says "Ok, so you are saying follow blindly or not at all? DERP DERP" and other thought "Well TNA does care what we think or a bog deal wouldn't be made" BLAH BLAH!!!!
So, I guess i am going to explain a little better where i am coming from
First of all, why are you going to get mad at me for defending the very company i work for? They have done nothing but help my wrestling career. They have given me a larger stage to perform for so many more people around the world. I have a much larger fan base now because of them, and they have let me be able to inspire so many "misfits", showing them that you don't have to l look like a model to live a dream.
As far as my pay, i have never been screwed over by them. They have always paid me exactly what i am suppose to, so again. Do NOT run your mouth about something you know NOTHING about. I am going out of my way to prove a point, they didn't ask me to do this, they have no idea that i am putting it out there. This, again, is an example of me defending the company that has been good to me from the beginning. It isn't fair. Do NOT get me wrong, fans , you are entitled to your opinions, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, like contracts, paychecks, booking, etc When was that ever your business to begin with? It isn't? are you wrestling? No.
There is nothing wrong with sitting back and enjoying the show. Fans are suppose to do just that. Don't stress yourself out over something that doesn't concern you to begin with.
The other thing that drives me nuts is that there are WWE fans, and TNA fans, and WWE fans HATE TNA, and vice versa. I don't know why burying something or someone is needed. In my honest opinion, i feel fans should just support wrestling in general. And if you don't like something, just don't watch it, and don't bury someone else for liking it.
I have friends who wrestle for WWE. My boyfriend is in NXT!!! I also have friends at TNA, i have LOTS of friends on the indies! We are all the same!!
I watch all wrestling. I watch TNA. I watch WWE. I watch NXT. I watch Indy stuff. Shimmer, shine, FIP, 2cw, CZW, New Japan, ROH, etc. Sure, there are things on each show i may not like, but there are also things i do like, and to me, it is entertaining.
I love wrestling and i support wrestling, and if you are a true fan, you should just support Wrestling. Not a certain *brand*, because i promise you, you will find something you like anywhere, the whole show may not be your cup of tea, but I'm sure there is something. Just open your eyes to the varieties out there!
I am sure there are some of you who will have a smart ass comment or two after reading this, but never fear! i don't care :) You will be *blocked* . OR we can just agree to disagree. Thanks guys!!
We noted earlier that WWE Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan had apparently been removed from the current European tour, likely due to ongoing health issues.
Following Tuesday's SmackDown tapings in London, where Bryan teamed with John Cena, the decision was made by WWE officials to pull Bryan from the rest of the tour.
WWE issued the following statement:
"Daniel Bryan has been pulled from the remainder of the UK tour as a precautionary measure."
- As noted, WWE announced that Paige is out action until further notice due to the attack from Naomi on Monday's RAW from London. Paige tweeted the following today:
Fans jumped the barrier and rushed the ring as top WWE Superstars were preparing for the main event at tonight's SmackDown tapings in London. One fan reportedly hit the other with a Rock Bottom before security rushed them. Below is a photo from Twitter:
As noted earlier, WWE announced that former Divas Champion AJ Lee has retired from in-ring competition, specifically stating "in-ring competition with WWE."
AJ's husband, former WWE Champion CM Punk, tweeted the following after the announcement was made:
PWInsider has confirmed through their sources that Scott Steiner was banned from the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony last Saturday and that there was an incident with Hulk Hogan's wife.
The decision to ban Steiner from the ceremony was made by WWE officials after Hulk requested that Steiner not be allowed in.
Steiner was reportedly on the same flight to San Jose that Hogan's wife Jennifer was on. While they were waiting for their luggage at baggage claim, Steiner allegedly approached Jennifer and threatened that the next time he saw Hulk, there would be problems. Hogan's wife apparently didn't even know who Steiner really was at the time so it was a shocking experience for her as you could imagine.
Hulk was telling people over the weekend that he had no idea why Steiner would approach his wife and didn't know that there were issues between the two.
We haven't heard Steiner's side of the story yet but it could have to do with Steiner's lawsuit with TNA that's still going on, which stems from Steiner's Twitter comments about TNA, Eric Bischoff, Hulk and his daughter Brooke Hogan.
WWE has confirmed that CJ Parker has been released from NXT. They wrote the following on their website:
"WWE has come to terms on the release of NXT Superstar CJ Parker, as of today, April 3, 2015. WWE wishes CJ Parker the best in all his future endeavors."
The original plan for Roman Reigns vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 was for the match go to 35 minutes with entrances. However, the pay-per-view ran long and the match was cut down, according to PWInsider.
WWE also cut a video for Bray Wyatt vs. The Undertaker out of the broadcast.
