Breaking News: Ric Flair's Son Reid Flair Arrested
Ric Flair's son Reid (Richard Reid Fliehr) was arrested on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 11:06 p.m. in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina for Driving While Impaired. He was released after posting $1,000 bail. No other details regarding his arrest were released.
It has been confirmed that Travis "Tyson" Tomko, 32, was released from his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment a few weeks ago. Tomko re-signed with the company in November.
Tomko's first match back in the company was a dark match prior to the December 15, 2008 episode of Raw in a winning effort over Paul Burchill. However, he was greatly limited by a torn pec and Vince McMahon thought he looked terrible during his lone outing. The former TNA World Tag Team Champion looked noticeably soft during the match.
WWE's Senior Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis took a lot of heat over signing Tomko. There was a feeling he should have had a full medical exam before signing him to see if there was a major injury.
-- After Raw went of air, HBK came out to save Cena and Edge Sweet Chin Music. HBK then gave one to Big Show and celebrated with the hometown crowd to close the show.

The second nomination was for integration of the video game's entrance footage into the Impact ring entrance videos on the series.
TNA and Midway issued the following comments today:
"With their first foray into the world of gaming, TNA has shown that they can successfully and seamlessly meld the virtual and real worlds and do so in a highly creative fashion."
The award winners will be announced 4/8.
Despite their recent bankruptcy filing, Midway Games is currently working on a second TNA video game.

When injured WWE RAW Superstar Batista was in the Philippines two weeks ago doing promotional work for WWE, he was asked how much longer he fashioned himself wrestling. The former World Champion said that he felt he had one year left. Batista went on to say he wanted to finish that final year strong.
DETROIT, MI - Former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Tim Sylvia was involved in a fight at a bar in downtown Detroit Michigan with 7 foot, 320 pound WWE Superstar, Glen 'Kane' Jacobs.
No details are currently being released on how the fight started. A witness says the two were arguing and Tim Sylvia instigated the fight. Jacobs quickly took Sylvia to the ground and repeatedly punched him in the face. The bartender along with a bystander helped pull Jacobs off Sylvia. Sylvia was said to have suffered a broken nose and a black eye.
The police were notified but since the fight was not prolonged and neither men wanted to press any charges, no arrests were made. Sylvia was driven by a friend who was with him to the hospital to treat the broken nose. Glen Jacobs left the scene with his wife shortly after.
Last weeks edition of Friday Night SmackDown was the least watched episode of the year as it drew a lackluster 1.9 rating. When Vince McMahon found out about the shows dismal rating, he blew a gasket, according to a company source. Its going to be a rough week for those working alongside him as the rating for last nights Raw declined for the third week in the row.
United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Mark Henry def. Christian & MVP Evan Bourne def. Jamie Noble Finlay def. Paul Burchill
SAN ANTONIO The WWE Universe was in luck Tuesday night, as the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship Match was announced for the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. Meanwhile, Hornswoggle celebrated St. Patricks Day by wreaking havoc at the AT&T Center, and his father, Finlay, had more than Irish luck behind him on ECW on Sci Fi.
The Dirt Sheet on ECW (WATCH | PHOTOS) World Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison brought a live edition of The Dirt Sheet to ECW on Sci Fi, but were interrupted by WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo hoping to broadcast their own episode of Carlitos Cabana. Miz & Morrison accepted Carlito & Primos challenge of a winners-take-all, new, Unified WWE Tag Team Championship Match at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania. But their meeting quickly turned unpleasant when Carlito & Primo accidentally spit apples in the face of Brie Bella. When Nikki laughed at her twins expense, Brie shoved her sister and the Divas began to brawl. Nikki departed the ring with the World Tag Team Champions, while Brie stayed behind with the WWE Tag Team Champions. While the sisters are divided, which tag team will leave the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania the Unified Tag Champions? (Match Preview)
Finlay def. Paul Burchill (PHOTOS) It was a St. Patricks Day to remember for Finlay & Hornswoggle as the Fighting Irishman defeated Paul Burchill on ECW on Sci Fi. Burchill sought revenge for his sister, Katie Lea, who was involved in a corned beef and cabbage food fight with Hornswoggle earlier in the evening. But the overly-rambunctious Hornswoggle was merely celebrating St. Patricks Day, a celebration that was even sweeter after Finlay was a winner over Paul with a Celtic Cross.
ECW Champion Jack Swagger returns (WATCH | PHOTOS) ECW Champion Jack Swagger returned to ECW on Sci Fi this week. While he wasnt in action, he wanted to make an appearance in front of the WWE Universe.
I know you missed me last week, Swagger said. And Im not competing tonight, but as a service to all of you, and because I am so good-looking, I just wanted to give you the pleasure of laying your eyes upon the two-time, two-time All-American American, Jack Swagger your ECW Champion.
Evan Bourne def. Jamie Noble (WATCH | PHOTOS) Evan Bourne who suffered a torn deltoid ligament five months ago made his triumphant return to the Land of the Extreme on Tuesday night. Despite harsh words from Jamie Noble, who said he might crash Air Bourne permanently, the high-flying Superstar defeated Noble with a gravity-defying Shooting Star Press. The undefeated Tyson Kidd and his associate, Natalya, watched as Bourne soared to victory. But with the WWE Universe in Bournes corner, will any Superstar be able to stop the exciting Slammy Award-winner?
United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Mark Henry def. Christian & MVP (PHOTOS) Half of the Superstars competing in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania met in tag team action this week on ECW on Sci Fi. United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Mark Henry faced Christian & Montel Vontavious Porter in ECW action, and The Gold Standard shined brightly on Tuesday night. After Christian slapped WWE Hall of Famer Tony Atlas off the ring apron, SmackDowns Benjamin hit Pay Dirt on Captain Charisma for the tag team victory. Is this a sign of things to come at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleManias Money in the Bank Ladder Match on April 5? Also, Shelton Benjamin will defend his U.S. Title against MVP, the longest reigning U.S. Champion, this Friday on the historic 500th episode of SmackDown. Who will walk away with the U.S. Title?
Bobby Lashley will compete in his second professional Mixed Martial Arts fight this Saturday night against Jason Guida at the "March Badness" MMA-boxing card in Pensacola, Florida.
The former WWE superstar recently spoke with AroundtheOcagon.com about a number of topics, including the possibility of returning to pro wrestling some day. Lashley said, "I'd definitely be open to going back to wrestling one day. WWE isn't the only organization. I've had talks with some organizations. I would be open to going back to wrestling not just WWE. I enjoy it."
Based on that, it appears Lashley would consider wrestling for TNA, where two of his close friends (Kurt Angle and Booker T) are top stars.
While Lashley says he misses pro wrestling, he admits that life on the road and the bumps can be difficult to manage. "It's hard on the mind and the body. You can't take away the enjoyment we had being in front of those crowds, being in front of those people around the world," Lashley said. "It was incredible. I do miss it." When asked whether he's disappointed in Ken Shamrock having to pull out of their fight after testing positive for steroids, Lashley said, "I'm super disappointed. ... I really wanted to fight Ken but things happen." Regarding his new opponent Jason Guida, he said, "He's a last minute replacement so I don't know a whole lot about him. I hadn't got to study him. I know his brother but I don't know much about him."
SAN ANTONIO After the rocket-fueled roller coaster ride of last week, you would think that the Raw Superstars would be itching for some down time in the run-up to the clashes and chaos of the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.
Not even close.
Maybe it was the proximity of San Antonio to WrestleManias host city of Houston less than 200 miles away, but there was a definite whiff of foreboding in the dry Texas air.
World Heavyweight Champion Edge def. John Cena with Vickie Guerrero as special guest referee; Big Show enters to help punish Cena; Edge spears Big Show (PHOTOS | WATCH) Shoot the messenger. That was the overriding theme as World Heavyweight Champion Edge, his wife Vickie Guerrero and Vickies lover Big Show were set to confront John Cena. A week earlier, Cena had revealed the affair between Vickie and Big Show, much to the chagrin of all three. As a result, Raw's interim General Manager arranged a match pitting her husband against Cena with herself serving as a special guest referee. With all that misdirected hostility focused on Cena, who could not touch Vickie lest he sacrifice his World Title Match at WrestleMania, a lopsided confrontation seemed inevitable.
As Edge and Cena battled, an angry Big Show lumbered down the ramp toward the ring. When he arrived, The Rater-R Superstar joined him in tying Cena up within the ring ropes. Fittingly, each drove their anger in his direction: Edge speared him, Vickie slapped him and Big Show drove his meaty fist into Cenas ribs several times before clocking him in the jaw. But that proved only to be the entrée. It was Edge who then speared his wifes lover and thus delivered Big Show his just desserts.
CM Punk, Kofi Kingston & MVP def. Kane, Mark Henry (w/ Tony Atlas) & United States Champion Shelton Benjamin (PHOTOS | WATCH) With the coveted black briefcase looming large above the ring, CM Punk, Kofi Kingston & MVP faced off against Kane, Mark Henry & United States Champion Shelton Benjamin in a preview of one of WrestleManias most daring matches, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The action got underway with the other two MITB Match participants, Christian and Finlay, commentating at ringside. As the chaos of six hungry competitors unfolded, last years Mr. Money in the Bank, CM Punk, raised his game and put Benjamin to rest with a Go To Sleep for the win.
Ric Flair, Jimmy Superfly Snuka, Ricky The Dragon Steamboat and Rowdy Roddy Piper confront Chris Jericho (PHOTOS | WATCH) Chris Jerichos shameful behavior continues. This time, however, the WWE Legends, who hes been so quick to denigrate, had heard enough. Ric Flair, Jimmy Superfly Snuka, Ricky The Dragon Steamboat and Rowdy Roddy Piper surrounded the ring where Jericho was busy spewing his bile. While his fellow Legends corralled Jericho and chased him from the ring, Flair confronted him outside the ring with a fist and sent the disrespectful plague scampering up the entrance ramp.
Afterward, Jericho issued a challenge to Snuka, Steamboat & Piper to a match at WrestleMania with Flair in their corner. He also included The Wrestler actor Mickey Rourke, who he said he would buy a front row seat so he could watch.
Rey Mysterio def. Dolph Ziggler, issues challenge to JBL for an Intercontinental Championship Match at WrestleMania (PHOTOS) Dolph Ziggler is big on introductions. Its safe to assume, therefore, that hed like a second chance at a first impression with Rey Mysterio. Ziggler proved little match for the high-flyer, who bested the eager, young Superstar. Rey, who has missed WrestleMania for the past two years due to injury, has already challenged his longtime rival JBL to an Intercontinental Championship Match at WrestleMania.
WWE Champion Triple H def. Cody Rhodes in an impromptu Steel Cage Match; taunts Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase (PHOTOS | WATCH) In hindsight, Cody Rhodes probably should have known better. The second-generation Superstar faced off against arguably the most determined Superstar in all of WWE right now, Triple H. As Rhodes Legacy cohorts, Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase, looked on, The Game demolished his opponent and taunted Orton and DiBiase to join him in the ring. When Orton and DiBiase decided to take up the invitation, The Game grabbed his sledgehammer and backed the two down.
Thats when things got even more interesting. Triple H gave a signal as a steel cage was lowered around the ring. The WWE Champion then climbed inside and resumed his retribution of a hapless Rhodes. The remaining Legacy members attempted to scale the unforgiving structure, but Triple H fended them off and continued to send a punishing message to his WrestleMania opponent, Orton.
The mystery of who authorized the lowering of the cage was solved somewhat when, after the match when Triple H left the arena, he climbed into a Hummer with his wife Stephanie McMahon.
Womens Champion Melina, Mickie James & Kelly Kelly def. Beth Phoenix, Layla & Jillian (PHOTOS) With the first-ever Miss WrestleMania title at stake in Houston during the 25-Diva Battle Royal, its no wonder the Divas have been busy sharpening their skills lately, to say nothing of their claws. That preparation was evident during the Six-Diva Tag Team Match placing Womens Champion Melina, Mickie James & Kelly Kelly against Beth Phoenix, Layla & Jillian. As The Glamazon displayed her impressive strength in the ring, her boyfriend, Santino Marella, attempted to intervene on her behalf. Unfortunately for him, Mickie put the kibosh on his underhanded scheme, which led to Phoenix being pinned. Somebodys getting grounded!
Randy Orton not pressing charges against WWE Champion Triple H for last weeks home invasion; Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes tonight Randy Orton insists that he is in complete control. That was his message to WWE Champion Triple H after revealing that he will not be pressing charges after last weeks home invasion, in which The Game wreaked havoc on Ortons house and family, hurling his WrestleMania rival through a glass window. If Triple H were to go to jail for his actions, said Orton, he would not have to put the title on the line in Houston. Perhaps to send The Cerebral Assassin a message, Orton pitted his "Legacy" disciple Cody Rhodes against Triple H tonight.
World Heavyweight Champion Edge forgives Vickie; Edge vs. Cena tonight with Vickie as special guest referee After the utter humiliation World Heavyweight Champion Edge suffered last week, he seemed in an unusually forgiving mood this week. When John Cena revealed that his wife Vickie was having an affair with Big Show, Edge appeared devastated and angry. Fast forward a week, however, and The Ultimate Opportunist is now telling Vickie that he excuses her indiscretions and that neither of his WrestleMania opponents, Cena or Show, will come between them. The couple also appeared amped about the rematch between Edge and Cena that Vickie set up for later in the night, in which she will act as special guest referee.
Shawn Michaels & Undertaker def. Intercontinental Champion JBL & Vladimir Kozlov (PHOTOS | WATCH) There is nothing so tenuous as trust when pride intervenes. As the man who has posted a 16-0 record at WrestleMania paired up with the man dubbed Mr. WrestleMania, there were bound to be misgivings. Undertaker teamed with his WrestleMania opponent in a tag team match against new Intercontinental Champion JBL & Vladimir Kozlov. Tensions were laid bare once it appeared that Undertaker was about to secure the victory. Instead, his partner HBK tagged himself in and secured the win himself over JBL.
HBKs one-upsmanship provoked The Deadman to raise a boot to Michaels head, but HBK ducked the black, leather brick. The two then locked eyes for a few anxious moments before Michaels exited up the entrance ramp. The Deadman followed, pausing at the top of the ramp to turn back to the crowd. That was HBKs cue. He stepped onto the ramp and laid out Undertaker with Sweet Chin Music.
The following is an excerpt from an article posted by TampaBay.com:
TAMPA Today would have been Andrew Martin's 34th birthday.
The professional wrestler known as "Test" or the "Punisher" planned to leave Monday to celebrate in France, Sweden and Belgium, according to his MySpace page.
But authorities found his body Friday night at about 8 o'clock. And officers have since disclosed that they discovered prescription drugs, including painkillers and steroids, in the Harbour Place apartment.
Candice Michelle has a message for "haters" Posted by Randy Gordon on 03/17/2009 at 12:48 AM
Sidelined WWE Diva Candice Michelle has posted a new blog on the WWE Universe site and she has a lot to say.
She starts off by offering her condolences to the family and friends of former WWE Superstar Andrew "Test" Martin, who passed away this past Friday. Candice wrote: "First and foremost I wanna offer my condolences, prayers, and love to the family and friends of Andrew "Test" Martin! This isn't an easy thing to hear about someone in our community! I had alot of respect for him and am thankful for being blessed with knowing him!"
Candice then confirms reports of her ankle injury, which has kept her sidelined the past few weeks. Candice explains how she got the injury: "I also just wanted to catch up with y'all since its been awhile since Ive been on Raw and there has been many speculations on why? Unfortunately I have been injured again! No its not my collarbone or anything in association with that! My collarbone is 100% healed! I was training really hard actually twice a day and while doing a flying punch on a bag that was held by a donut like apparatus I landed on it, rolled my ankle and fell on it! I have 2 torn ligaments one a 3rd degree sprain and the other a 2nd degree. However I'm healing really well and faster than what doctors expected! My injury was just a mishap unlike what others have heard or said, just a misfortunate event! After what I've been through I am a pro at this, haha!"
Fortunately for Candice, she is off crutches as well as her walking cast.
Candice also responds to reports going around saying her contract with WWE is set to expire in October. She says it's completely false and that she has absolutely no desire to leave the company.
"Also, people have asked me if I'm leaving the wwe or that my contract is expiring in Oct. 2009, well this is so FALSE!!! First off my contract is not expiring this year and most importantly I have NO desire to leave WWE! I am still focused and gearing up for another return!"
Candice then has some choice words for the people who doubt her, say she's injury prone, and believe her career in WWE is over.
"I have asked myself and prayed alot on why I have taken a back seat with another injury?! What I do know is what it feels like to be on the mountain top, and i know what the valley is like all to well, but i have news for all the Haters who have all these crazy reasons on why they think they know me and why my career at WWE is over...I am not unpacking my bags down in this valley but climbing out of it, even with one foot!lol! I have had a taste of the top so I know that the fight is worth it! I can preach and say x,y and z. However, this time ill just show you! I'm not too frail, injury prone, too old, nor have i lost my passion! Misfortune happens and that's what makes me stronger and builds resiliency! So just know that weather you respect me, hate me, judge me, spread false accusations about me, this is my journey and I say when its over so hear me loud and clear I'm saying "ITS NOT OVER!!"
Lastly, Candice says she doesn't have a page on FaceBook nor MySpace. She also has plans to give her official website, www.CandiceMichelle.com, a makeover so she can actually update it.
Will Ashley Massaro Be At Wrestlemania? Posted by Randy Gordon on 03/16/2009 at 01:51 PM
Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro has posted a new blog on her MySpace account (www.myspace.com/ashleymizassaro) discussing the passing of Andrew "Test" Martin as well as the Wrestlemania XXV question.
"First off I'd like to comment on the passing of Test. He was a nice guy, and I really am so sorry for his family and friends," Massaro wrote. "It's a tragedy just like the rest and you know which I'm speaking of. Always so so sad. Let's find a way to stop this madness."
As far as possible appearance at WrestleMania XXV is concerned, while she'd like to, it's not possible at this time.
"Another thing I'd like to touch on quickly is Wrestlemania. I know many of you are asking if i will be attending and participating in the 25 Diva Battle Royale and the answer unfortunately is .......no.," Massaro wrote. "I so so so wish I could be it's conflicting right now, there's nothing I'd rather do than come to mania but unfortunately it's just not possible."
Trish Stratus, who began her wrestling career managing Andrew "Test" Martin, posted a brief note on her MySpace account (myspace.com/trishstratus) regarding his passing. Stratus wrote: "Trish Stratus offers her deepest condolences to the Martin family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Andrew - you will be dearly missed."
Thanks to Gina for her help with this one. As noted a few weeks ago, former WWE Diva Tammy Sunny Sytch announced on her Facebook page that she was headed to WrestleMania 25, presumably for the 25 Divas Battle Royal. Apparently Sunny was booked for the All Star Wrestling promotions 3rd Anniversary show in Gilbert, WV on April 4th but had to pull out of the show due to the invitation to WrestleMania. Here is the letter she sent to the promoter of the indy show, Gary Damron, where she mentions training for the match at WrestleMania.
Hey Gary
Ok, Ill just tell you by e mail. Im so sorry, but I have to pull out of the show April 4th .I NEVER cancel a show unless its for a really good reason, and this time I have a really good reason
Im doing the Hall of Fame and Wrestlemania!! I got the call yesterday from Johnny Ace, and Im in the Diva Battle Royal on the show . and Ill be flying down on Friday..Im terribly sorry, but I cant pass up this chance to be seen by them again..who knows what could come of it! As far as the plane ticket is concerned, if you cancel the reservation with the airline, they will let you apply the fare towards another flight down the road, so its not money lost Ill give you a call later today, as I have a busy day of training ahead of me to prepare.
- Conspicuous by his absence at last night's Destination X pay-per-view was Kip James as he was not in the corner of The Beautiful People. According to a TNA source, there is some concern that the company will not be renewing his contract as he's said to be on the bubble. His biggest supporter in the company is longtime friend BG James, who works as an agent backstage.
- Jacqueline also didn't work last night's Destination X pay-per-view as she was not in the corner of Beer Money, Inc. for their match against Team 3D. However, the former WWE Women's Champion did appear at some house show events over the weekend. Her status with the company remains unclear, although we haven't heard anything about the company letting her go. However, several people within the company have questioned her spot with the company considering that a number of wrestler contracts were not renewed. On the other hand, she's known Jeff Jarrett for years, which should help her cause for employment.
TNA star Kevin Nash called Andrew "Test" Martin one of his ten closest friends, but he does not want to speculate that drug abuse caused of Martin's pre-mature death. Nash says he helped Martin enter WWE's rehab program.
"We were really close," Nash told Jeff Wilen in the Daytona Beach (Fla.) News-Journal. "I helped him get into rehab. WWE picked up the dollar and helped him through rehab. Andrew went in. He was doing really well, making his meetings."
Nash has his suspicions on what caused Martin's death even if he's not in a position to speculate until Tampa, Fla. officials perform an autopsy.
"The combination of muscle relaxers and pain pills are lethal," Nash suggested.
Consequences Creed suffered a bad concussion last night during the Ultimate X match at Destination X.
TNAWrestlingNews.com is reporting that TNA star James Storm, one half of the current TNA World Tag Team Champions, is said to be suffering from shingles and this is why he was kept off house show events this weekend. Storm was still able to work alongside Robert Roode at last nights Destination X PPV in Orlando, FL where they retained the tag team titles. He'll likely work iMPACT!/PPVs but not live events while he recovers. TNAWrestlingNews.com will also have LIVE TNA iMPACT! spoiler coverage later tonight beginning around 6EST.
