WWE Superstars 11/22/12 Results.
Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal picked up the win over Santino Marella and Zack Ryder when Slater pinned Santino.
Justin Gabriel pinned Darren Young with a springboard moonsault.
WWE Superstars 11/22/12 Review.
What did this reviewer when he watched WWE Superstars for November 22nd 2012? This show was the usual two match show with a lot of recaps. However, this week had a good match and a fun tag team match, so that is a win for this particular show.
For those who missed the Survivor Series Pre-Show, we had this bout with Team CoBro against the 3MB in tag team action. This match was a perfectly acceptable little tag team match. All four competitors really worked well in this match. Of course in the end, Team CoBro fell to the might of the 3MB.
The main event was a good little match between the two NXT Season 1 Alumni, and the Nexus Competitors. Justin Gabriel always puts on a good show, and Darren Young is find enough not to embarrass himself. The result was a pretty good little singles bout. Gabriel got the win after a decent amount of time with the springboard monsault.
The result of the show was RAW recaps. They recap the AJ/John Cena/Vickie drama, and the latest developments of that on RAW. Then CM Punks little victory celebration.
Darren Young and Justin Gabriel was the highlight of WWE Superstars this week.
News on NXT Wrestlers Who May Be Called Up Next Posted by Steve Carrier on 11/22/2012 at 09:20 AM
With Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns being brought up to the main roster, the next group of guys on the rise in NXT look to be Big E Langston, Bray Wyatt (Taylor Rotunda), his brother Bo Dallas (Windham Rotunda) and the tag team of The Ascension - Conor O'Brian and Kenneth Cameron.
The Ascension have a great ring entranced and packaging as a team plus have developed a lot of double team moves from the old 1980's heel tag teams. Now that there is more emphasis on tag teams in WWE, they may be brought up together soon.
- We noted earlier this week that Mick Foley shot down rumors of him wrestling CM Punk. The Wrestling Observer reports that Foley's career is considered over. There had been talk of him wrestling another match internally but it sounds like we may never see Foley in a WWE ring again

Problems Between Punk and WWE Going Into WM Season Posted by Steve Carrier on 11/21/2012 at 09:27 AM
- We covered on Tuesday how WWE Champion CM Punk complained on Twitter that WWE wasn't promoting his appearance on Sunday's episode of Talking Dead, basically the Walking Dead post-show, or his Thanksgiving Day Parade appearance in Chicago.
PWInsider reports that there has been a major disconnect within the relationship between Punk and WWE over the past few weeks. It was originally reported that John Cena was the one who spoke out at Vince McMahon backstage and told him the product needed major changes because it was in bad shape. PWInsider reports that other people are saying it was Punk who spoke out.
There's a feeling that WWE is doing Punk wrong because he has held the WWE Title for over a year now and is still not featured on the promotional material for WrestleMania 29. There's also some concern about how Punk will react if The Rock does actually take the WWE Title from him at Royal Rumble. Some feel that if Punk isn't treated right during WrestleMania season, then there will be "hell to pay."
It's said that Punk has some pull in developmental, nowhere near the level of Triple H or someone like that, but Punk has gone in and told them they should push this guy or hire this guy. Punk is expected to be a big focus of the NXT storyline invasion in the coming months.
A lot of fans were wondering why NXT star Kassius Ohno, the former Chris Hero, didn't debut with Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns on Sunday night at WWE's Survivor Series pay-per-view.
We noted recently that WWE officials were talking about bringing some NXT stars to the main roster and the Survivor Series angle was the result of that. Ohno was never talked about in regards to being brought to the main roster now. Officials are high on Ohno but the feeling is that he needs more "seasoning" before being called up.
- WWE's website has announced that NXT stars
Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns attacked Santino Marella and Tyson Kidd during their match
at tonight's Main Event tapings in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
WWE has released
the following video of the attack:
- TMZ reports that WWE Diva Kaitlyn was arrested at the SmackDown tapings earlier today in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
According to the report, police appeared at the Van Andel Arena, the site of tonight's WWE TV tapings, with a warrant and took her into custody due to an outstanding speeding ticket.
She was booked and released on a $315 bond. Kaitlyn told TMZ:
"During a previous visit to Michigan, I was cited for a traffic violation. I am fully cooperating with authorities to resolve the matter."
- WWE Champion CM Punk took a couple shots at WWE today on Twitter, writing, "Yes, I will be on @AMCTalkingDead on Sunday. Shocking how WWE didn't promote it or get AMC the proper materials in time to announce it. This is what happens when you go over everyone's head to hustle and acquire your own outside appearances. #DIY. #disrespect. will also be the Grand Marshall in the Chicago turkey day parade. Also not announced or promoted by "my" company. Shocking. This is what happens when you go over everyone's head to hustle and acquire your own outside appearances. #DIY. Was promoted on Monday. Wasn't Sunday night when it was supposed to be. Ball dropped. S'okay. I'll pick it up and score like I always do."
John Cena Updates The Status Of His Knee Posted by Steve Carrier on 11/20/2012 at 12:57 PM
John Cena provided an update on the injury he suffered on Monday's Raw, writing on twitter, "MRI was typical good news bad news scenario. I've dealt with knees issues for the past few yrs, ill add one more to that list..... I know the risks of what can happen to me and I'm willing to play the odds. #nevergiveup c u 2nite grand rapids."
As noted earlier, there are conflicting reports if the injury was legitimate or is a storyline to make Cena the underdog "working through an injury" for his upcoming match against Dolph Ziggler at next month's Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view.
Cena will be at tonight's WWE Main Event & SmackDown tapings from Grand Rapids, Michigan and we should have another update on his condition when spoilers are posted late this evening.
John Cena hurt his ankle on tonight's episode of Raw after he landed on it awkwardly when chasing Dolph Ziggler to the back. Cena got his foot caught when leaving the ring which resulted in him landing badly on the outside. Cena limped his way to the back afterwards.
WWE acknowledged the injury with a trainer backstage saying he thinks Cena might have a torn meniscus as he wrapped it.
- Chad Baxter, a former collegiate wrestling champion WWE released last week from developmental, complained about the organization's stagnant product on Twitter days later, writing, "Im sick of seeing the same matches on @WWE #Boring #Overplayed."
When asked why WWE would release him, as well as fellow developmental wrestlers Chase Donovan and Nick Rogers, he wrote, "Its a mystery! Unfortunately I don't know the answer why this happened." He then re-tweeted a message stating, "WWE was stupid releasing you."
Baxter added that he has plans to continue wrestling
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Multiple members
of WWE's creative staff and/or their assistants have been assigned to watch
footage of TNA, Ring of Honor and WWE's NXT, and file a
report on its contents. There are other employees who work in the same capacity
as consultants for the company.
*RUMOR* Why TNA Knockout Mickie James Was Out For 3 Months
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the reason
why Mickie James was out for over three months was the discovery of a large
benign mass. The report states that James was able to keep it a secret, and was
said to be in great spirits at the recent Impact tapings.
York Says TNA's "Gut Check" Is Not Rehearsed Posted by Steve Carrier on 11/22/2012 at 01:03 PM
Christian York appeared on the Shining Wizards podcast (available at ShiningWizards.com). Highlights from the interview are as follows:
On how he got involved on Gut Check: "I was working in MCW (Maryland Championship Wrestling) and TNA was doing a house show in Bowie, Maryland, and the agents asked for a list of 10 guys, and I was one of the 10. I was eating breakfast with my wife, and they gave me call saying, we want to use you on some house shows and get a look at you. So I did that, and they called me back about doing this Gut Check."
On the Gut Check Experience: "They told me it's all a shoot, it's all real. It's not scripted stuff or anything like that, and we did that. We went from there, they did the profile thing with me, and then the match with Zema (Ion), which was pretty wild. All day long you don't know anything, its just like a rehearsal type thing. Just stand in the ring and we will go from there. Its all a shoot, they want raw emotion."
The Boy Band Gimmick: "We started that in '99. We weren't really on board with the boy band thing. We were like, man, that's gay. We were trying to be edgy, like every indy wrestler, trying to be cool as hell. We wanted to be called Fourplay, but we ended up being the Badstreet Boys. It worked, we had tons of girls as fans. Kanyon had seen the gimmick and had the idea of getting Shane Helms and Shannon Moore a tryout. Myself and Joey didn't have any idea about this. Then Shane called and said, hey, man, we just got signed, and I was like, did we get signed? And he was like, no, they are gonna give you a tryout, we are gonna do the boy band gimmick with Evan (Karagias). "
On WCW not being around: "I miss the hell out of it, man. I wish it was still around so guys would have a place to work."
First Run with WWF/ECW: "After we got released from WCW we had a no compete clause, 120 days. We waited and we just said, let's go there and try to get on. And we got on, it was pretty cool. They let us do dives and like all kinds of stuff, stuff that unheard of. They were like, just go out there in tear it up. So we did that, and they liked us and stuff, but we looked like kids compared to the cast of characters in WWF at the time. So they said why don't you go to ECW and go there and get over, get seasoned, and then come back here. We got in touch with Tommy Dreamer, and they were already interested in us, so we went there and off we went."
- Rain, who appeared in TNA Wrestling as Bobby Roode's valet Ms. Payton Banks, broke her wrist in three different places at Friday's "SHINE 5" internet pay-per-view after being subject to a powerbomb from Awesome Kong. Despite the injury, she continued the bout as planned, which concluded with her receiving an Implant Buster from Kong. She was admitted to a emergency room following the contest.
Rain tweeted an image of her wrist Sunday morning.
Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcome us to the show. Kevin says were going to start with the Women of Honor but instead the Briscoes come to the ring. Jay gets on the mic and asks all of the wrestlers in the back to come down to ringside. Wrestlings Greatest Tag Team, Jay Lethal and SCUM are the only wrestlers not to come down. Jay says SCUM have the fans brainwashed into thinking its cool to put down ROH. He says when you knock ROH, youre knocking all of the current roster and all of the guys who made ROH what it is today. Jay says he and Mark went down to Louisville to talk to Jim Cornette and he then talked to everybody in the back and they have found a new matchmaker. He says hes going to restore honor into ROH; he then presents Nigel McGuinness as the new matchmaker.
Nigel says he doesnt know what has happened to the old ROH; the same ROH that made his dreams of wrestling a reality. He says he still sees guys putting on the best matches in the world, guys with lots of passion and love for pro wrestling. He says the people who still believe in this company are going to take it back. His first decision as matchmaker is to make Kevin Steen vs. El Generico for Final Battle 2012′. Nigel says Generico only had one request to make the match; he wanted a Ladder War. He then goes on to say that Corino & Jacobs need opponents in New York. He says they will defend against Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander as well as the Briscoes in a three-way match for the Tag Team titles! Jay gets the mic back and says ROH doesnt raise the bar; it is the bar and theyre taking back ROH. Honor Lives.
Allysin Kay vs. MsChif
Kay disrespects MsChif early on with a slap and then drives her into the corner before hitting a big boot. MsChif fights back but then walks into a big clothesline for a two count. Kay continues to dominate and hits a samoan drop for another two count. MsChif gets a two count of her own with a unique bridging pin but Kay comes back with another two count. Kay goes for a kick but MsChif catches it, kicks Kay low and then hits a modified DDT for the win.
Winner by pinfall: MsChif
ROHWorld.coms thoughts: This was a decent enough Women of Honor match and the first for quite a while. Its difficult to see how theyre going to fit a womens division into the show if thats the way theyre going with it. We all know about MsChif and Kay looked a promising competitor.
Tadarius Thomas vs. Roderick Strong
Truth Martini joins Kevin Kelly on commentary for the match as Strong mocks Thomas instead of shaking his hand. Martini says he has released Rhino from the House of Truth. Thomas uses his unique style to kick Strong in the face and then goes to work on him with a suplex. The pair fight on the ring apron before Strong lifts Thomas up and throws him back first into the turnbuckle post. Thomas tries to fight back but he then walks into a jumping kick to the face. Thomas then comes back with a variety of kicks and then a clothesline for two. Strong comes back with a jumping knee before hitting a huge suplex backbreaker for the win.
Winner by pinfall: Roderick Strong
Strong then gets on the mic and tells Martini to get the hint; hes not a part of the House of Truth any longer and then storms off.
ROHWorld.coms thoughts: Thomas once again impressed with his very unique style. He looked very competitive against Strong and the match was a good one. Id like to see another match between these two with a bit more time given to them. All in all, a decent match.
In this weeks Inside ROH, Kevin Kelly confirms the matches that Nigel McGuinness has already made for Final Battle 2012′. He also runs down the Adam Cole v Matt Hardy match that was confirmed last week. Matt Hardy says he has nothing to prove and Cole is the one with everything to lose. He says at Final Battle, he can finally come out of Hardys shadow. Kelly also says that Nigel McGuinness will make a decision on whether Michael Elgin will face Roderick Strong at Final Battle next week. Jay Lethal talks about his situation and tells ROH that if they think theyve seen him at his worst, they havent seen anything yet.
Nigel McGuinness shows off the new ROH World TV title before our main event of the evening.
ROH World TV Title Match Adam Cole (c) vs. Kyle OReilly
Cole has the best of the opening exchanges and knocks OReilly to the outside with a jumping enziguri. OReilly blocks Coles attempt at a suicide dive, Cole then kicks OReilly when he tries to dive out and then Cole finally hits the suicide dive. Cole throws OReilly into the barricades on the outside but then OReilly hits a dropkick to Cole when he goes for a crossbody off the rope. OReilly continues to control Cole as Davey Richards comes down to ringside and asks Nigel to let him talk to Kyle in the ring next week. Nigel agrees and he goes to the back after he and OReilly stare each other down. Cole capitalises on the brief distraction to hit a jumping DDT to OReilly on the apron.
Cole follows that up with a big splash off the top rope as the crowd chant This Is Awesome. OReilly blocks a figure four attempt and then reverses another attempt into a small package for two. Both men hit kicks but they refuse to stay down. OReilly hits a Regalplex for two and then locks in the Triangle Choke and starts hitting elbows. Cole somehow gets out of it as the pair trade blows from their knees before the slug it out on their feet. Tornado DDT from OReilly followed by a brainbuster only gets him two as he then locks in a guillotine choke.
Cole manages to get to his feet and pick OReilly up before hitting the backbreaker. This Is Wrestling chants from the crowd as Cole hits a reverse superkick and the Florida Quay to get the victory. Cole celebrates with the brand new TV title as Nigel hits the ring and puts the belt around his waist.
ROHWorld.coms thoughts: This was the third match between these two former tag team partners and it was simply brilliant. They managed to put a lot of stuff into a ten minute match and it made for an exciting, action-packed match. Both guys looked great after this one and I still think there is space for a big blowoff to this feud after OReilly is done with Davey. Overall, one of the best matches on ROH TV.
Next weeks main event will see SCUM defend the ROH World Tag Team titles against Rhett Titus & BJ Whitmer.
