- The rumors of top independent women's wrestler Sara Del Rey being brought in
as a trainer to the WWE developmental Divas are apparently true. Del Rey
recently reported to the NXT facilities after finalizing her deal and appears in
a new Tout video from Bill DeMott with other trainers Norman Smiley and Joey
Mercury.
- WWE announced Friday afternoon via WWE.com that the organization has come to
terms on the release of former Divas Champion Kelly Kelly. According to
F4WOnline.com, the departure was mutual. The organization granted the former
Divas Champion a leave of absence in May in hopes that she would remain and sign
a new contract. She briefly returned in August, but indicated then that she
would not be returning on a full-time schedule anytime soon since she was
pursuing endeavors outside the organization. With Kelly still cold this week on
returning, both parties decided to part ways.
Contrary to earlier published reports, F4WOnline.com states Friday that Shaul Marie Guerrero (a/k/a Raquel Diaz) remains under contract to WWE.
Her bio was removed from the Divas roster page of WWEs official NXT website, FCWWrestling.info, suggesting that she had parted ways with the sports-entertainment organization. F4WOnline.com and PWInsider.com subsequently reported that Guerrero was granted her contract release after requesting it.

Backstage Talk About WWE Grooming a New Top Guy Posted by Steve Carrier on
09/28/2012 at 09:35 AM
- With 35 year old John Cena currently dealing
with back, elbow, hip and neck issues, there has been a lot of talk for months
about who is the next top guy for WWE. With Vince McMahon's days likely
numbered, some believe that the next top guy after Cena will be Vince's last
ever hand-picked top guy.
While Cena won't be replaced as the top guy
until his body breaks down or until the public tires of him, there is a feeling
that you have to think about the future now as Vince has never gone with anyone
older than 40 as his top guy because people think he cuts bait early and then
moves on.
Vince has told both the traveling and non-traveling writing
staff, as well as the RAW and SmackDown crews, that they are now to put emphasis
on storylines and angles for Sheamus. The idea is that CM Punk is a heel and
won't be that top guy. Plus in their minds of what "the guy" is supposed to look
like, Punk doesn't fit. Triple H is also backing Sheamus because he's big
enough, dedicated enough and loyal enough. At the same time, many people feel
Sheamus wouldn't be right as the face of the company because of his character.
Another downside to Sheamus is he's almost 35 and if they are looking at
grooming the next guy for Cena's spot, they should be looking at someone who is
25 or so.
Show kicks off with Big Show in the ring, talking about his last title reign of only 45 seconds. He then goes on to say that he had to watch Bryan lose the belt in just 18 seconds. As Big Show claims that hes going to beat Sheamus, Randy Orton comes out. Orton says that hes the most sadistic guy on the roster. Big Show vs Randy Orton is our main event for the night. Del Rio makes his way to the ring now saying that he deserves yet another shot. Del Rio claims he was cheated by Booker T. As Del Rio goes to get in the ring, Orton RKOs him and leaves.

Body slam from Santino and he pulls out the Cobra but Cesaro strikes him in the stomach. Santino reverses a throw into a roll up but Cesaro comes back with an uppercut. Big throw by Cesaro but Santino kicks out. Santino with a super kick for a near fall. Cesaro gets to the top rope but Santino follows him up. The two exchange strikes. Sheamus comes out early and says Miz has memory loss because Ryback destroyed him last week. Sheamus said that no one wants to hear Miz talk for an hour and a half. Miz plugs his movie and Foleys book based on him, saying that you have to pay to see him. Miz said that everyone has paid for the show to see him on MizTV. Miz asks Sheamus why hes not worried about Big Show or Orton at HIAC. Sheamus talks about how hes well aware that one mistake causes him to lose his title but that he works his arse off and takes it seriously. Sheamus looks as if hes about to fight Miz before Ziggler and Vickie interrupt and come down to the ring. Ziggler says it doesnt matter which wrestler Sheamus faces at HIAC, because after the match the briefcase is all that matters. Ziggler says that just like tonights main event, Sheamus title reign is irrelevant. Ziggler guarantees hell be world champion. Big Show comes out to the ring but instead of Orton coming out, Del Rio does. Del Rio says that hes taking Ortons place until Orton attacks from behind and throws Del Rio into the stage.

Knee to the head from Orton. Body blows from Big Show. Big Show yells for Orton to give up. Big Show with a claw hold on Ortons ribs. Show hits another rib shot to Orton and sends him out of the ring. Show follows and tries to throw him into the ring post but Orton slips out and tosses Big Show into it. Show gets back into the ring, only for Orton to kick him in the head and tries to hit the Spike DDT but Big Show hits a body blow. Show signals for the chokeslam.
Big Show picks up Orton but Orton reverses into an RKO. But Big Show kicks out! Orton sets up for the punt kick. Big Show catches him by the throat and hits a chokeslam but Orton kicks out! Big Show hits another chokeslam, this time, for the victory. Winner & New #1 Contender: The Big Show
The Immortal Hulk Hogan whipped the crowd into a frenzy to kick off Championship Thursday in the IMPACT Zone. Once the Hogan chants subsided, the Hulkster announced that former tag team partners Bobby Roode and James Storm would take their ongoing feud into Bound for Glory in a Street fight match refereed by MMA Champion King Mo. Later with the Icon Sting by his side, Hogan declared that he would confront the elusive Aces and 8s in their own clubhouse.

The evenings first match gave fans a taste of the massive tag team Triple Threat match announced last week scheduled for Bound for Glory. Christopher Daniels, Kurt Angle, and Chavo Guerrero, Jr, each represented half of their respective tag teams, but it was Daniels who emerged victorious after a perfectly timed leg sweep and pin.
Knockout veterans Tara and ODB took to the ring next to decide which woman would be the number one contender to Miss Tessmachers title. After feigning an injury, Tara exploited the sympathetic ODB for an easy three count by Knockouts referee Taryn Terrell. ODBs husband Eric Young and his beard were devastated by the trickery.
After careful deliberation, Hulk Hogan decided that Mr. Anderson and Samoa Joe most deserved the shot for the vacant Television Championship. The Samoan Submission Machine definitely earned his name after literally choking Mr. Anderson into unconscious submission for the Championship. The win puts Samoa Joe into rare company as only a handful of TNA superstars who have earned the Champions Grand Slam: World Heavyweight, Tag Team, X Division, and now Television.
As promised, Hulk Hogan and Sting took the Aces and 8s head on, but they surely didnt expect their heads to be in bags beforehand. The relentless motorcycle gang abducted the men against their will, taking them to their clubhouse and demanding a deal: two Aces and 8s versus two IMPACT superstars at Bound for Glory, winner takes the IMPACT Zone for good.
After deliberation by the judges, unfortunately, Evan Markopoulous did not pass The TNA Gut Check and was not offered a spot on the TNA IMPACT WRESTLING Roster
The nights final match pitted TNA World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries and his Bound for Glory competitor Jeff Hardy against Bobby Roode and Bully Ray in a tag team match with endless angles. After all, Aries earned his title by defeating Roode, who isnt allowed another title shot until Aries is defeated.
After landing painfully on his neck, the Charismatic Enigma Jeff Hardy managed to land a desperation Twist of Fate, allowing him time to tap Aries into the match. Aries tried to take matters into his own hands by fighting both competitors, but Hardy sealed the victory with a Swanton off the ropes onto Bobby Roode.
With Bound for Glory only weeks away, who will be chosen to represent the IMPACT superstars against the dreaded Aces and 8s? Tune in next week to IMPACT WRESTLING, live from Orlando, only on Spike TV!
We've noted before that Ric Flair was rumored to be brought in as a new mouthpiece for Dolph Ziggler. While WWE officials say they aren't negotiating with Flair, there has been talk of having Ziggler fire Vickie Guerrero before winning the World Heavyweight Title. The idea would to pair Ziggler with a new mouthpiece once he's won the World Heavyweight Title. Ziggler is expected to become champion before the year is over.
- Former WWE Superstar John Morrison has been working hard at making it in Hollywood. He's currently filming a movie with Danny Trejo and has been spending most of his time going to auditions and trying to make contacts in the industry. Morrison is still doing independent wrestling dates if they pay well but he doesn't want to be away from Los Angeles for any length of time or make any major wrestling commitments in case anything opens up for him.
Morrison doesn't seem interested in returning to WWE at all. A lot of the WWE talents who leave on their own note that WWE is great in the sense you can make a lot of money but they are so restrictive on what you can do away from the company and the schedule makes it impossible to do a lot of the other things you would want to do. Regarding Melina, the two are still dating but she recently suffered a torn calf and is not wrestling but is open to managing.
PWInsider confirms other reports that Raquel Diaz (Shaul Marie Guerrero) has been released from her WWE developmental deal. The word going around is that she asked for the release but nobody seems to know why. Vickie Guerrero has not commented through Twitter and remains positive. She noted that she will be touring colleges with her other daughter next week.
Profile pages of Eve Torres, Naomi and Cameron have been moved from the Raw
roster to SmackDown. Beth Phoenix, Kelly Kelly, AJ Lee and Vickie Guerrero are
the only Divas on the Raw roster. The SmackDown roster has Aksana, Alicia Fox,
Cameron, Eve Torres, Kaitlyn, Lilian Garcia, Naomi, Natalya, Rosa Mendes and
Tamina Snuka.

- We noted back in the summer that WWE officials were likely going to offer
Brock Lesnar another deal once his current deal expires at WrestleMania 29 next
year. Lesnar's future with WWE was apparently going to be decided on the
SummerSlam buyrate.
Now that those numbers have came out and this year's
SummerSlam was the most successful since 2008, people in WWE note that Lesnar is
almost guaranteed to receive another deal from WWE next year.
Ring of Honor television is back with another week of Road Rage with footage from Boiling Point.
Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness welcome us to the show.
Mike Mondo asks how Roderick Strong is going to feel when he realizes Mondo made an example out of him. Strong says after Boiling Point Mondo will change his name to I Fear Roderick Strong.
Mike Mondo vs Roderick Strong w/ Truth Martini
The match started off with plenty of heavy strikes as both guys tested each other. Out on the outside, Mondo busts Strongs nose with a headbutt and that seemed to fire him up as he came back with a string of strong strikes and a suplex back on the outside. Mondo comes back and hits a moonsault off the top rope for two before hitting a head scissors which sent Strong into the barricades. Mondo stops Sinclair from stopping the match after he seemingly injures his shoulder but Strong hits a running knee into the corner and then a backbreaker for a very near two. Roaring elbow from Strong is followed up by a gutbuster but again Mondo kicks out. Strong goes for a suplex but Mondo with a rollup that gets him two. After some jousting, Strong manages to hit the Sick Kick for the victory in a very good opener.
Winner by Pinfall: Roderick Strong
Its now time for Inside ROH. Michael Elgin says the last three seconds at Glory by Honor will be history because it will be him winning the ROH World Title. He tells Martini that its not about the House of Truth. Mike Bennett says not a lot gets him angry, but someone putting their hands on Maria pisses him off. He says hes going to put the fear of God in Mondo. Jay Lethal and Davey Richards will go one-on-one at Glory by Honor XI. Lethal says hes determined to gain something hes never had and at the end of the story, the big bad wolf was killed. Survival of the Fittest will take place throughout October on ROH television. Next week is another Road Rage episode, but this one will be from Death Before Dishonor X.
Matt Taven vs Vinny Marseglia vs Antonio Thomas vs QT Marshall
All four guys get some time in the ring early on and its clear that Thomas and Marshall will be the heels in this one as they begin to work over Taven and Marseglia. With Marshall and Thomas on the outside, Taven hits a big dive to take out both guys on the outside. While Marshall goes for a stalling suplex on Marseglia, Thomas hits a nice crossbody from the top rope before he suplexes Marseglia and locks in a leglock on QT at the same time. From nowhere, Taven hits a frog splash from the other side of the ring to break up the count! Taven takes out both Marshall and Thomas with ease but cant get a pinfall on either guy. Big tornado DDT from Taven on Marshall but he just gets his foot on the ropes. Marseglia takes out Marshall and Thomas with a dive before Marshall comes back and pulls him groin first into the steel ringpost. QT gets back in the ring and hits a modified inverted running powerslam on Taven for the win and an ROH contract.
Winner by Pinfall: QT Marshall
We now get to see the closing minutes of the Brutal Bob and Adam Cole match. Cole won the match with a Figure Four. Mike Bennett and Maria hit the ring, and Bennett jumps Cole. Eddie Edwards and Sara Del Rey make the save.
Mike Bennett and Maria vs Eddie Edwards and Sara Del Rey
Edwards and Bennett start us out with Die Hard dominating with a shining wizard and plenty of hard chops. Del Rey gets tagged in and she and Edwards take turns to kick Bennett, Del Rey stays in the ring and Bennett manages to tag Maria in who gets a few kicks in before Bennett is tagged back in and Edwards also gets tagged. Edwards again has Bennetts number and hits two dropkicks to him while he was in the tree of woe. Bennett fights back briefly as both men take each other out. Maria tagged in and Del Rey hits three big boots before Bennett tags himself in only to be on the end of a suicide dive from Edwards. Backpack chinbreaker gets Edwards two before he locks in the Achilles Lock and Del Rey the Ankle Lock on Maria before they disappear under the ring. Bennett puts the Achilles Lock on Edwards before Del Rey comes out from under the ring with Marias top. A shocked Bennett lets go of the hold before Edwards takes advantage to lock it back in for the submission win.
Winners by Submission: Eddie Edwards and Sara Del Rey
- We noted back in August that people within WWE expected Triple H to put more focus on the tag team
division when he takes over more of Vince McMahon's duties and gets more power.
That change is coming now as the new focus that we've seen
lately on tag teams comes straight from Triple H. They hope to have a credible tag
team division before the year is over.
Back in August, the feeling was
that more focus on tag teams would mean the Divas get put on the back burner.
That doesn't look to be the case as word is
they have some significant things planned for the Divas division over the next
few months.
