Update on Velvet Sky Possibly Leaving TNA Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/24/2012 at 01:49 PM
Velvet Sky could be leaving Total Nonstop Action Wrestling just as her former "Beautiful People" mate Angelina Love did. ProWrestling.net has confirmed PWInsider.com's report that the popular grappler is on the verge of parting ways with company due to a contract dispute.
Bruce Prichard, who serves as Talent Relations for the organization, has reportedly asked numerous wrestlers to restructure their contracts. A company source says some talent who have time remaining on their deals are among those being asked to restructure, even if they're due for raises. Many of those individuals believe they are being presented with "take it or leave it" type offers. Sky is not believed to be among those asked to restructure their contract, but rather, her contract is expiring. She has told colleagues that she is not happy with how the negotiations are going.
Sky, who has been with TNA since the inception of the Knockouts division in October 2007, last appeared at a BaseBrawl event in Memphis, Tennessee on July 14. She is presently booked for a Legends of the Ring convention in Monroe, New Jersey the same weekend that TNA holds its annual Bound for Glory festivities. Sky often responds to online rumors via Twitter, but has yet to address the matter.
Velvet Sky has either finished or will be finishing up with TNA
Wrestling shortly, according to numerous sources with the organization. One source noted Monday night that she is "as gone as can be
without having pen to paper."
Her status with the organization has been
tenuous for several weeks, although she's been in negotiations for a new
contract. However, many believe she is on her way out of the company.
Sky last appeared for TNA at a BaseBrawl
event in Memphis, Tennessee on July 14. She is presently booked for a Legends of the Ring
convention in Monroe, New Jersey the same weekend that TNA holds its annual
Bound for Glory festivities.
Sky is one of the most popular females in
TNA and has been with the company since the advent of the Knockouts division in
October 2007. A former Knockouts and Knockouts Tag Team
Champion, she was recent cast in
a Montgomery Gentry music video through the company.
Her former
"Beautiful People" mate, Angelina Love, also recently left the promotion.
- Sources within TNA Wrestling have confirmed that Bully Ray and Devon's respective contracts with the organization will expire in four to five weeks. Both wrestlers have been negotiating new contracts with management but no movement has been made towards agreements being reached.
Bully Ray underwent an incredible career resurgence after retooling his character following the split of Team 3D in late 2010. Likewise, Devon underwent a career rebirth following the split and now reigns as Television Champion. Both assist young talent, with Bully Ray working behind the scenes as an agent and Devon wrestling them at both television and house show events.
- Samoa Joe and Magnus are the new GHC Tag Team Champions for
Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling Noah. They captured the belts Sunday in Tokyo
from Akitoshi Saito and Jun Akiyama, ending their seventh-month reign.
Magnus wrote on Twitter, "New GHC/ Pro-Wrestling NOAH World Tag Team
Champions @SamoaJoe and yours truly. Ryogoku Sumo Hall Tokyo, it was an honor!"
Christopher Daniels also competed at the event, NOAH Great Voyage,
losing to GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion Yoshinobu Kanemaru.
Steve Austin statement about why he missed RAW Posted by Roscoe De Soto on 07/24/2012 at 01:03 PM
The following is from brokenskullranch.com:
On July 23, 2012 WWE celebrated the 1,oooth episode of Monday Night Raw. I watched the show from my home in Los Angeles. After watching the show, I got on my Twitter account, @steveaustinBSR, to read responses to the show. There were many people blaming Vince McMahon and the WWE for not having SCSA on the show. And there were some folks who had some very negative things to say about me, personally.
The reason I did not attend RAW 1,000 was because I underwent a major knee surgery on my left knee on July 2, 2012. Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA performed the surgery.
The surgery was a complete success. I am currently three weeks post op. I began physical therapy a few days ago. I had a world class surgeon and a great medical team working on me. I am now working with a top notch PT team. I am still on crutches and will probably lose the crutches in another week. Then I will be in a custom knee brace much like the braces I wore in the ring for 9-12 weeks.
STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN IS A 100% ASS KICKING MACHINE. There was no way I was going to limp down the ramp on crutches for RAW 1,000. It was time to get my knee fixed. The decision to no-show RAW 1,000 was made by me and no one else. I have always taken pride in making my shots and have never faked an injury or illness. Pro Wrestling is a tough game and it was time to pay the piper for some of the damage I incurred in the ring. No gripes. No complaints.
To the fans that were hoping to see SCSA, Im sorry I missed the show. I would have loved to be there under different circumstances. I normally keep my personal business to myself, but due to feedback and incorrect speculation, I have posted this blog and given the 411 on why I was not at RAW 1,000.
I will post more blogs about my PT and recovery soon.
- On Backstage Fallout, John Cena was asked about unsuccessfully cashing in the Money in the Bank
briefcase on Raw against CM Punk. He responded, "My mistake."
Cena
continues, "We all know I've had issues with CM Punk in the past, but it's been
(pause), the word respect comes up. If you're the champ, nobody has any loyalty
to anything. The word respect comes to mind, even when we're at each other's
throats. It just respect. I go back to Money in the Bank when Vince went to
throw it out and I told him no, and I lost. My watch,
my terms, and I respect that."
The Miz, Heath Slater and Daniel Bryan
also react to Raw events.

What Happened After WWE Raw Tonight Posted by Steve Carrier on 07/23/2012 at 11:56 PM
Thanks to Joseph Daniel for sending in the following notes after Raw went off the air.
After the WWE Raw 1000th episode went off the air tonight, The Big Show started attacking John Cena until The Rock made the save by delivering a Rock Bottom to Big Show, then John Cena followed up with an Attitude Adjustment.
Afterwards, John Cena handed The Rock one of his armbands. The Rock then got on the mic and said Cena must be using head bands as arm bands because there is no way anyones arms are that big. Everyone including John Cena started laughing.
The Rock then hit the people's elbow, as John Cena left up the ramp. The Rock thanked the fans.
A lot of fans in attendance were upset that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was not in attendance for tonight's event. Lots of chants for him.

* DX Reunion: This will open the show at 8EST.
* Sean Waltman (X-Pac) appeared on the Cowhead show on Friday and hinted that he will be at RAW on Monday night. Waltman said, "I can't foresee a DX reunion without X-Pac." WWE has been contacting numerous former talents this week so it's possible he'll be there. He had been tweeting in recent weeks that WWE had not contacted him. All signs are now pointing to a "full" DX reunion with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The Road Dogg, Billy Gunn and X-Pac all appearing. That is not confirmed just yet but it is looking more and more likely. Chyna will not be appearing for obvious reasons.
* During a recent interview with The Miami Herald, Jerry Lawler was speaking abut the origin of the "puppies" line he had used for years. While doing so, he may have announced another surprise return for Monday's 1,000th RAW "I actually got to give credit to a guy who I think will be returning on the 1,000th episode. It was a member of DX, Road Dogg (Jesse) James. I believe he was talking to Sable at the time. DX was in the ring, and Sable was in the ring, and somehow I believe Road Dogg said, Hey, show us your puppies.' It kind of floated by. No big deal at that point and time, but then I started using the word a couple of weeks later, and it just stuck."
* Brock Lesnar returns and will confirm his match with Triple H at SummerSlam. Paul Heyman will be there with Lesnar.
* The Rock returns to WWE to address his quest for the WWE Title. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is rumored to be contemplating competing in a match or two before WrestleMania XXIX on April 7, 2013 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. An announcement could come as soon as Monday.
* There have been rumors for months that WWE was going to be doing a big summer angle that would get people talking. There is a lot of speculation that the angle will be kicked off Monday night, likely at the end of the show. There aren't many details going around at this time, as those within the company have been keeping tight lipped.
* Daniel Bryan and AJ will have a wedding.
* The announcement of a new permanent RAW General Manager.
* WWE Legends Bret Hart, Mick Foley and Roddy Piper are all confirmed to return.
* Roddy Piper posted the following, discussing whether or not he will appear at the 1,000th RAW "If I go to Raw's 1000th episode I'm not doing lame work. Let me roll Vince. I'll show them why Raw's the longest running show!" As noted above, Piper is confirmed for next week's show.
* Local Advertisements in St. Louis are promoting Bret Hart to appear at Monday's 1,000th RAW. Hart was advertised a few weeks ago, but then there was no follow up. The new local ads that started to run this week pushed Hart as appearing. As noted above, Hart is confirmed for next week's show.
* Vince and Stephanie McMahon will appear on the show. Shane McMahon is said to be a long shot and Linda McMahon probably won't happen because of her ongoing Senate campaign trying to distance her from the WWE product. There will also be the usual "2nd tier" legends appearing as well.
* Both Stephanie McMahon and Jim Ross will be in St. Louis, Missouri next Monday, the site of that day's unprecedented 1000th RAW episode. The WWE Hall of Famer appeared Wednesday on KREF Sports Talk 1400 The Ref and confirmed he would be on the show. He added he has no idea what his role will be. McMahon, who participated in a Twitter chat Tuesday and hinted but did not confirm an appearance on Raw, will be in the area that day for a 'be a STAR' anti-bullying at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis' Herbert Hoover location (2901 N. Grand Ave.). She will be joined World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, The Miz, Eve and American Idol finalist James Durbin.
* We can now exclusively confirm that The Undertaker will be appearing on Monday 1,000th RAW event. This will be the Phenom's first appearance since WrestleMania. His role on the show will be unclear, but he will be live at the show in St. Louis.
TNA iMPACT! Wrestling drew 1.32 million viewers Thursday night. While the official rating won't be available until next Monday, the estimate is similar to last week's 0.8. The viewership is an increase from last week's two-year low of 1.11 million viewers. The show ranked #49 among cable TV shows for the night with demographic ratings remaining even with the last couple of weeks. We'll see how the show does now that the DirecTV/Viacom issues are resolved. We noted earlier today that DirectTV and Viacom have negotiated and ended their dispute. The Viacom channels that were pulled from DirectTV have been returned to service. This is obviously good news for TNA, which airs on Spike TV and took a ratings hit the last few weeks without DirectTV and their 20+ million viewers.
Dolph Ziggler was reportedly livid with Sin Cara following Sunday's Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Heavyweight Championship Contract at Money in the Bank.
According to SuperLuchas.net, a source within WWE says Ziggler vocally complained backstage over the SmackDown Superstar working stiffly and failing to protect him during a high risk maneuver off the top turnbuckle known as The Spanish Fly.
The errant spot nearly injured Ziggler, not to mention spurred a dubious Twitter trending topic"Botch Cara."
According to their source, Ziggler plans to file a formal complaint to WWE management over Sin Cara so they can review the case further and decide whether the the high-flying grappler faces punishment.
In Sin Cara's defense, footage from the pay-per-view indicates that Ziggler caused the spot to fail by slipping twice on the rope.
