The Miz To Star In The Marine 3: Homefront Posted by Steve Carrier on 04/30/2012 at 04:44 PM
After a great deal of speculation as to who will star in the upcoming WWE Studios movie, The Marine: Homefront, pwinsider.com is now reporting that the lead role will be played by The Miz.
At one point, Cena was considered for the movie with the idea that he would pick back up where the first Marine movie left off. Randy Orton was then attached to the movie, but WWE pulled Orton from the movie due to Orton being kicked out of the Marines when he was younger and the Marines he served with complaining about a deserter portraying a Marine in WWEs movie.
Other wrestlers under consideration for the lead role have included CM Punk, JTG, Cody Rhodes and a few others.
The plot of the film will be a Marine trying to rescue his kidnapped daughter from a terrorist.
Shooting begins in June in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Incorrect Reports on Cena Starring in Marine 3 Posted by Steve Carrier on 04/30/2012 at 09:32 AM
- There are incorrect reports going around this morning that say Deadline.com confirmed John Cena for The Marine 3: Homefront in an article back in February. Deadline never stated this and as of this writing, Cena has not been confirmed for the next movie in The Marine series.
PWInsider reports that at one point, Cena was considered for the movie with the idea that he would pick back up where the first Marine movie left off. At the time, the idea behind Cena returning to the series was that it would be similar to Bruce Willis and the Die Hard franchise.
At last word, Cena was not scheduled for The Marine 3: Homefront. Names tossed around for the starring role have included CM Punk, JTG, Cody Rhodes and a few others. WWE officials have reportedly decided on the Superstar who will appear in the movie but have been holding off on the announcement. Now that it appears Cena will be taking some time off from WWE, fan speculation is that filming The Marine 3 may fit into Cena's plans. Filming for the movie won't begin until June.

WWE Doctors Report That John Cena Was Injured Posted by Steve Carrier on 04/30/2012 at 01:22 AM
- WWE posted the following on their website after Extreme Rules:
CHICAGO John Cena's victory over Brock Lesnar came with a steep price, as WWE.com has learned the Cenation leader suffered an injured left arm in his Extreme Rules Match against the wrecking machine at Extreme Rules in Chicago.
Lesnar made it a point to punish Cena's arm in their hotly anticipated bout in Chicago's sold-out Allstate Arena, trapping his arm in a Kimura Lock halfway through their show-stopping clash. And while Cena who also took an elbow in the opening moments of the match that split his head open beat Lesnar by a narrow margin with an Attitude Adjustment on the steel steps, it appears he has ended up the worse for wear despite the victory.
"The most obvious injury was the laceration to his head, which caused a substantial amount of bleeding," said WWE locker room physician Dr. Chris Amann. "He also has suffered a shoulder injury. Initial testing in the training room leads me to believe there may be torn muscles, possibly a torn rotator cuff or a biceps muscle."
Unfortunately, there are no specifics available as to the extent of Cenas condition, although he is still scheduled to appear on tomorrow's Raw SuperShow. Dr. Amann told WWE.com reporters that doctors would be conducting additional tests in the morning to determine the full scope of Cenas injuries.

John Cena Says He's Taking Time Off Posted by Steve Carrier on 04/29/2012 at 11:29 PM
John Cena appeared to have injured his left arm during his match with Brock Lesnar at tonight's Extreme Rules pay-per-view, and hinted that he may be leaving for awhile. After defeating the former UFC heavyweight champion at tonight's event, Cena took the mic and addressed the crowd.
"I'm probably going to get sent home for speaking when I'm not spoken to, but I think I'm headed home anyway," Cena said after the match. "And if I know my boss, he's going to kick me out the door, but he's going to do it on air, so I hope this is for the world to see."
"Chicago, I know this is CM Punk's town, but above all else, this is a wrestling town. Tonight, you people were supposed to see the extreme. I've got no left arm, I'm tasting my own blood... and I'm damn proud to say it was in Chicago, IL."
"All of us -- good guys, bad guys, big guys, small guys -- all of us give everything we have every night for you guys. And if I gotta take a vacation, so be it. If I'm going away for a while, I just wanna say thanks for one hell of a last ride. I feel great tonight, even with this Chicago crowd that may or may not like me. I listen to that and I think, if I'm going out, I wouldn't want to do it any other way! Thank you guys, go home safe!"
While heading to the back, Cena told officials that he couldn't move his arm, but he knows it's not torn.

Backstage News on Rey Mysterio's WWE Suspension Posted by Steve Carrier on 04/29/2012 at 09:09 AM
- As noted before, Rey Mysterio was suspended for 60 days last week for violating the WWE Wellness Policy for a second time. Rey reportedly failed the drug test back on February 13th but wasn't suspended until this month.
Rey reportedly tested positive for amphetamines.
Rey showed up to the RAW Supershow on February 13th in San Diego but before he could settled in and say hello to everyone, he was informed that he had to go right in for drug testing. A week later, Vince McMahon was upset with Rey but at the time, nobody knew why.
Rey couldn't believe that he tested positive for amphetamines and says he has been living his life clean. WWE officials asked Mysterio about which medications he was taking and he was upfront about everything. A few days ago, officials called him and asked when he would be ready to return. Rey informed WWE that he could come back in June but was then told that he would have to wait another month because he was being suspended for 60 days.
Rey believes he failed the test because of something he took that caused the positive for amphetamines. WWE obviously did not buy his story as they went public with the failure last week.
Rey was scheduled to go to Japan in a few weeks to do promotional work for WWE but has been replaced by Alberto Del Rio.

According to reports, Sabu was unable to report at the site of the Extreme Reunion event in Philadelphia tonight.
Earlier this afternoon, Sabu was found in "bad shape" in his hotel room. A 911 called was placed and Sabu was rushed to the hospital in Philly. He is still hospitalized as of this writing.
Sabu was scheduled to work Shane Douglas in the main event. No decision has been made yet as to how to publicly address it to the live crowd.
As seen on Monday's RAW, John Cena had his familiar chain with him when he came out for the contract signing with Brock Lesnar. WWE's website has a new article up looking at Edge's pep talk to Cena and they wonder if Cena will bring back the "thug" to defeat Lesnar at Extreme Rules. They wrote:
"Maybe a stern message from The Master Manipulator was what Cena needed all along. On Sunday night at Extreme Rules, will Cena heed Edge's call and unleash ruthless aggression to shock Lesnar? Or is he just going to wind up the first victim in Brock's fearsome quest to take over WWE?"
TMZ reports that Buff Bagwell is still hospitalized but breathing and eating on his own after the bad car accident on Monday. The breathing tube was removed on Wednesday and Buff is now talking and eating solid foods. Some of Buff's WCW co-workers like Sting, Diamond Dallas Page, Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner have contacted him while in the hospital.
