More Details on the Alleged Assault by Slater Posted by Steve Carrier on 08/12/2011 at 10:40 AM
- The Atlanta Journal Constitution has an article up today on security guard Corinne Oliver's claims against Heath Slater from WrestleMania 27 weekend in Atlanta. Oliver says that she has had back pains ever since Slater allegedly put her in a chokehold and tried taking her into his hotel room.
WWE is keeping distance from the situation. "The alleged victim is making claims against Slater individually, and its being investigated," WWE spokesman Jerry McDevitt said. "This has nothing to do with the WWE."
According to a police report, the alleged assault happened between 4am and 5am on April 4th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Atlanta, the day after WrestleMania. Police are still investigating the matter and no charges have been filed against Slater yet.
"She basically said he [Slater] approached her and asked her to go to his room," Oliver's laywyer said. "She said no. He started telling her she was pretty and those type things. The next thing you know she was in a chokehold, and he was dragging her and bending her backward, trying to get her on the elevator to his room. She violently had to struggle to get his arm from around her neck."
The woman, who is still employed by Allied Barton security, immediately told her supervisor. After months of inaction by her bosses, the woman filed a police report on June 22nd. Her lawyer says she contacted police after supervisors told her for months they were going to handle it.

SmackDown results: The best thing going? By: Michael Burdick August 12, 2011 Tags: SmackDown: Aug. 12, 2011 SACRAMENTO, Calif. With just two days before SummerSlam, a new Intercontinental Champion was crowned on SmackDown and World Heavyweight Champion Christian may very well have discovered the way to overcome Randy Orton at The Biggest Event of the Summer.
Randy Orton def. The Great Khali (WATCH | PHOTOS) In a classic story of David and Goliath, Randy Orton locked horns with The Great Khali. And in the end, The Viper hurled his metaphoric stone at The Punjabi Nightmare in the form of a debilitating RKO covering the gigantic Superstar for the victory.
Immediately following the match, World Heavyweight Champion Christian interrupted the celebration to taunt his No. 1 contender with some information he said he just received. Whatever the mysterious information was, he proclaimed that it was going to change everything at SummerSlam, Christian claimed he cant wait for their No Holds Barred Match where anything goes. With a smile, he added that I have the best thing going.
What does Christian have up his sleeve come this Sunday at SummerSlam? (Match preview)
Mark Henry def. Johnny Curtis (WATCH | PHOTOS) Johnny Curtis winner of WWE NXT season four was decimated by Mark Henry in his debut match in an all-out slaughter that culminated with the Worlds Strongest Slam. But, as the irate Henry looked to continue his attack after the bell, Sheamus charged to the ring after him. Not wanting to wait for their impending showdown at SummerSlam (Match preview), The Celtic Warrior challenged his enraged foe to fight him right then and there. Instead, Henry chose to make his own statement of force, hitting a second Worlds Strongest Slam on Curtis outside the ring.
Cody Rhodes def. Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson to become new Intercontinental Champion (WATCH | PHOTOS) After numerous head butts with his protective face mask and a key distraction by his associate Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes executed a fierce springboard kick on Ezekiel Jackson. The bitter Superstar then finished off his decorated opponent with the Cross Rhodes, pinning his shoulders to the canvas to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
With the newly-acquired title firmly in his grasp, Rhodes instructed DiBiase to put a bag on the head of his fallen predecessor. But, when The Personification of Domination awoke, Cody made a quick exit, leaving the oblivious DiBiase to take the brunt of his wrath.
Alberto Del Rio def Daniel Bryan (WATCH | PHOTOS) For the first time ever, the current holders of the Raw and SmackDown Money in the Bank briefcases squared-off against each other. And in the pinnacle of the high-stakes encounter, Bryan missed his mark off the top rope, allowing Del Rio to lock in the cross armbreaker for the win.
After the match, Wade Barrett emerged, hitting the war torn Daniel Bryan with Wasteland. (Bryan vs. Barrett at SummerSlam) (Bryan speaks out in "Year of the 'Dragon'")
Sin Cara def. Tyson Kidd (WATCH | PHOTOS) Reemerging sooner than medical experts indicated he might, the gravity-defying Sin Cara leaped back onto the scene with increased muscle and a fresh arsenal of maneuvers. Utilizing incredible athletic prowess, the high-flyer triumphed over Tyson Kid.
Beth Phoenix & Natalya def. A.J. & Kaitlyn (WATCH | PHOTOS) Beth Phoenix and Natalya punished Kaitlyn and A.J. from the opening bell, with The Fabulous Firebird quickly finishing off the spitfire A.J. with the devastating Glam Slam. After the match, the self-proclaimed Divas of Doom continued the attack on their fallen opponents, leading Natalya to lock Kaitlyn in the Sharpshooter as The Glamazon enjoyed her screams. Can Divas Champion Kelly Kelly withstand the divine dominance of Beth Phoenix this Sunday as SummerSlam? (Match preview)
Sheamus def. World Heavyweight Champion Christian by Count-out (WATCH | PHOTOS) Sensing that he was in real jeopardy of losing a match just two days before he will attempt to defend his title against Randy Orton at SummerSlam, the slippery Christian thrust Sheamus neck over the top rope, temporarily taking down the only Irish-born former WWE Champion. The World Heavyweight Champion quickly grabbed the World Title and high-tailed it up the ramp, forcing the referee to count him out.
Christian dropped his lawsuit against WWE and will compete at SummerSlam (WATCH | PHOTOS) Gearing up to serve as the Special Guest Referee in the blockbuster SummerSlam main event to decide the Undisputed WWE Champion (match preview), WWEs Chief Operating Officer Triple H journeyed to SmackDown. Pledging to continue to make WWE exciting and unpredictable, he announced a slew of explosive SmackDown match-ups for later in the show.
Christian then emerged to inform Triple H that putting him in a career-threatening No Holds Barred Match at SummerSlam against the mentally unstable Randy Orton was creating an unsafe work environment for him. He threatened that if WWEs COO didn't remove that stipulation from the World Title showdown, he was going sue WWE and just about everybody else associated with the event. But, when Triple H threatened to fire him for breach of contract and take back the World Title, Christian opted to drop the lawsuit. He pledged instead to defeat Randy Orton at SummerSlam (match preview) and whomever Triple H puts him in a match with tonight. That Superstar would be Sheamus.
CM Punk Says Rock's Shtick Is Corny, Change in WWE Posted by Steve Carrier on 08/11/2011 at 08:37 PM
- WWE Champion CM Punk spoke with Mark Madden on his Pittsburgh radio show this past Monday to promote SummerSlam. Punk was asked if he now has creative control in WWE. Punk said he doesn't like that term and said control is bad. He noted that he has input now but added that everyone always has input. Madden asked Punk if things have really change in WWE or if it's just another McMahon being the star of the show.
"I think things aren't going to change over night," Punk said. "A few little things have already changed. Just the face they're listening to different people is a step in the right direction. It's going to take a while. Obviously I'm one who's an advocate for any kind of change. Getting guys like Zack Ryder on TV is a step in the right direction. He's entertaining, that's the bottom line. Is he going to main event WrestleMania this year? No. Maybe he will in a couple of years, you never know. I'm just happy what little change has been implemented thus far has been implemented."
Punk says people have been making comparisons to what's happening now and the Attitude Era but added that he isn't trying to fill Steve Austin's shoes. Punk is trying to do something completely different - make it fun again, he said. Punk said he hopes he is making everyone tune in next week to see what's going on because that's his goal.
Regarding John Cena, Punk acknowledged that he has said some nasty things about his SummerSlam opponent but put him over as someone who loves what he does and a hard worker for WWE. Punk said everything he has said about "Dwayne" is absolutely 100% true.
"I'm in a position now where I think I can call guys out on it," Punk said about The Rock. "I have no personal problems against Dwayne. It's very frustrating being here and watch a guy come in and get credit for a WrestleMania buyrate when he didn't do anything on the show. He certainly didn't do anything entertaining. There's a line he crossed at some point where I think he is just as out of touch as the Vince McMahons and everybody else. I'm not calling Rock old, he's still obviously a young physical fit guy but his ideas are old and his shtick is corny in my opinion. Hopefully when my ideas are old and my shtick is corny, there's some young punk that's going to call me out on it. Hopefully Dwayne takes it as, "ok when I come here I have to step it up", and hopefully he does."
Update on Future of Sin Cara and WWE Concerns Posted by Steve Carrier on 08/11/2011 at 08:35 PM
- Super Luchas is reporting that Mistico has left WWE and Hunico was told he would be working as Sin Cara at the WWE Mexico tapings in October.
Sources are claiming two different stories. One, that Hunico will play Sin Cara until the original Cara can return and then they will feud. The other is that Mistico is not being brought back after all and Hunico will remain as Sin Cara.
There are people within WWE, and that work with WWE on promotions, that are waiting for a final word from company officials on the future of the Sin Cara character going forward. They are worried that the new person playing Sin Cara will be pushed and not get over like Mistico. If they merchandise him for big plans down the line, it could turn out that they have backed a dud.
Within Mexico, people are worried that fans will see the new Sin Cara as a fraud. Many of WWE's licensees saw huge money in Sin Cara merchandise aimed at the Mexican market.

"I enjoyed my time there. I was a little bit disappointed with the progression of the character because we started out where I wanted to go - and I laid out how I wanted this character to start and develop - because I believe a character should grow. Every character evolves and I wanted this character to evolve. That was the understanding When you work for a company, you can't get everything you want. You have to compromise. And I compromised with the character on what they wanted and that was part of the deal. That was a hard thing. That was a challenge. Trying to do what I wanted and trying to give what I wanted the way I knew it could be delivered and then also what the company wanted to present - that was a challenge there. In the end, I was a little bit disappointed in that area and stuff
I'm a professional and I'm a performer. So I'm always willing to do something different and that was the attempt. Like I said, you have to compromise and stuff like that. But when you compromise, you start to lose the direction. That's where it headed. Eventually, I had to make decisions and if it wasn't headed in the direction I wanted, I had to make decisions I know they said I was released, but I had made a series of inquires to TNA about things and - I got released on a Monday - that Friday (before), I had actually called the TNA office and said, "Look. I need something to happen and I'm not happy and I need to be able to do more things." The person I talked to wasn't really in the position, I don't think, to do anything. So I left my piece of mind and then I was granted my release on Monday. So that's what happened. Was I upset? No. Not at all. I was very content with how things went out and we parted on good terms and everything".
Regarding the possibility of Melina going to TNA, she had a fan in Bruce Prichard when they both were working for WWE. Prichard now works as the head of talent relations for TNA so it's possible she could be offered a deal. No word yet if TNA is interested in any of the other recently released WWE talents.
Former WWE Superstar Chris Masters joined Chris & Nick Live on vow live, discussing his recent release from WWE and what may be next for him. In the interview, he spoke about the possibility of going to TNA:
Quote
I was already thinking to myself, maybe I need to start reaching out and seeing what else is out there lets just be frank. But I didnt do it. And its funny because then you fast forward to weeks later and then this happened. Obviously, Im taking bookings, but yeah, Ive reached out to some people over at TNA and well just see what happens with that. Theres of course the 90 day thing with WWE, but Im not really going to rule out anything this time around.

Matt Striker starts the show in front of a table and a bowl of eggs with three spoons. He announced that there will be an egg relay contest. Darren Young cuts him off and says that he wasn't here to play an egg relay contest. Striker ignores his outburst and continues to carry on the introductions, until Young cuts him off again and says that he can't cut it in the ring.
Striker simply replied that he's happy doing what he's doing right now, and that Young shouldn't worry on his past, instead to worry on his own future. After that verbatim, Young clocks Striker in the face, and leaves after challenging him to a match.
Backstage, Tyson Kidd was asked to comment about facing Justin Gabriel. Kidd then went on to saying that he was the greatest graduate of the Hart Dungeon, and that he was better than all the legends that came before him out of the esteemed Dungeon. He then concluded by saying that he would show Gabriel why he's the best tonight.
Justin Gabriel versus Tyson Kidd: Very strong match, very good opener. Lots of back-and-forth action, with the added caveat that both Kidd and Gabriel elevated their game to new heights. After a 15-minute match that saw both kidd and Gabriel throw everything but the kitchen sink, Gabriel hits an STO, followed by his signature 450 Splash for the win.
Darren Young versus Matt Striker: This match was disatrous, for the simple fact that it demonstrated how out-of-shape Matt Striker is against Darren Young. After bleeding from the nose, he hits a Gory Bomb. That was the only highlight he made in the match, as it turns out to be not enough. Young scores a neckbreaker off the apron, an overhead belly-to-belly suplex which led to Striker bleeding, and scored a win by hitting his modified full nelson facebuster.
Daniel Bryan, current SmackDown Money in the Bank winner, encounters his protege, Derrick Bateman... playing a WWE video game. This led to some stern lecturing from Bryan to Bateman, telling him that Bateman's making a fool of himself. He ended his speech by saying that if Bateman didn't figure out who he is, that he's on his own.
Titus O'Neil (with Hornswoggle and AJ) versus Derrick Bateman: Even though Bateman got that stern talking from Bryan, it did him no good in a match that generally stunk. Bateman's only offense consisted of a dropkick and a failed sunset flip attempt that gave O'Neil the opportunity to roll him up for the win. Bateman then attacks O'Neil after the match. He chased after Hornswoggle, with AJ watching on. Hornswoggle escapes Bateman, which led to O'Neil catching Bateman with his Clash of the Titus spinebuster. The assault on Bateman ended with Hornswoggle scoring a tadpole splash. The show ends with AJ, Hornswoggle and O'Neil smiling in the ring.
- Triple H is serious on introducing new talents through vignettes and promos. Its also being said that Triple H is interested in reviving the WWE Tag Team division. Word is that they are really starting to recruit tag teams and see if some names are under contract to other promotions.
There has been talk internally about The Brisco Brothers but they are signed to Ring of Honor. There has also been a lot of talk about TNAs Beer Money and bringing them in once they are able to get away from TNA.
Regarding the Kings of Wrestling Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli coming, the talk is that they will indeed be brought in together as a tag team and not singles wrestlers.
- A fan wrote to Gail Kim on Twitter and said he thought WWE signed her just to bury the competition after her great run in TNA. Gail responded: "but according 2 them (WWE), there is no competition. And if so,then why care about what happens to talent they don't use or want anyway?"
Gail also wrote that she likes Triple H but that "Vince McMahon is still in charge."
What Happened After RAW (Punk, Cena, HHH) Posted by Dave Mitchell on 08/08/2011 at 11:44 PM
Credit to PWTorch.com for this live report of what happened after RAW went off the air:
After Raw went off the air, Triple H took the mic and Cena and Punk went at it. They didn't announce if it was a title match, but the ref held up both belts to start.
WWE champion John Cena vs. WWE champion C.M. Punk ended in a Double DQ when Truth and Miz ran in. Cena and Miz used the Attitude Adjustment and GTS to send them packing. The two champions stared each other down in the ring and raised their belts. Cena exited, staring Punk down from the ramp. Punk left the ring and the night ended.
