An irate Batista roared onto SmackDown, focusing the full force of his relentless fury on Matt Hardy. After executing three consecutive spinbusters, The Animal hit a vicious Batista Bomb for the decisive victory. He later declared that Rey Mysterio, the source of his anger, would never again embarrass him the way he did last week, promising to decimate his former friend at the Survivor Series.

While Batista emanated silent intimidation from the broadcast table, Mysterio went round and round with Tyson Kidd. However, his efforts came to a sudden halt when R-Truth decided to carry out an intervention of his own. After knocking Punk to the ground, the rapping Superstar emptying the contents of the trash can on top of Punk before using it to bash The Second City Saint in his rib cage.
