    TNA Impact Results 2/3/11

Report by Stuart Carapola & PWinsider.com

We open up with a look back at last week as Scott Steiner returned to TNA and saved Kurt Angle and Crimson from a beatdown by Immortal. We get comments from various members of Immortal daring Steiner to fight them like a man, and then we got comments from Jeff Hardy and Ken Anderson discussing their rematch on the big February 3rd Impact.

We then go right to the ring, no entrances or anything, as Eric Bischoff is in the ring with Immortal and invites Scott Steiner to the ring to take care of business. Steiner comes out and Bischoff says they've known each other way longer than Bischoff would have wanted, but he wants to talk business. He just found out a few hours ago that Dixie Carter was successful in getting a continuance on the legal proceedings and Hulk Hogan will not be here tonight. But the good news is that even though Steiner tried to threaten and intimidate them, there are no They and there's nobody coming. Bischoff called Kevin Nash and told him to take the money, get his action figure, dye his hair, and get out the door. Sting's not coming back and who cares what Booker is doing, but Scott Steiner is out there surrounded by some of the best talent in the world and instead of being just another follower by following his brother, Jeff Jarrett, trying to become member of the NWO or whatever, be a man and join Immortal, because his choice is either joining the most elite group in wrestling or get his ass kicked. Steiner says that maybe he should just stick his foot up Bischoff's ass, because the first time he met Bischoff, he said "damn, you're a real piece of s***", and all these years later, nothing's changed. Bischoff's making the same mistake everyone makes because if he knew Steiner, he would address him as sir. Steiner says he's more of a man than all these ***** in the ring combined. Steiner says Bischoff has a choice to make and he either calls him sir, or he's going to grab Bischoff's little pencil neck and snap it just like that because there's nothing he can do about it. Suddenly, Kurt Angle and Crimson come out in suits and Angle tells Bischoff that Steiner is right because he is a piece of s***, but Angle wants to correct Bischoff on one thing because They are here, and it's real...it's DAMN real.

Jeff Hardy is backstage complaining to Bischoff that Hogan was supposed to be here tonight and he was supposed to win the World Title back, and Bischoff tells him that there's nothing he can do about what the judge did, but Immortal will make sure that Hardy gets the title back. Angle, Steiner, and Crimson walk in and go face to face with Immortal, warning them again that They are here.

Let's head to the ring for our first match...

Ink Inc vs Gunner & Muffin

They all start brawling right from the start and Gunner & Muffin take control early, beating Ink Inc down. Gunner tosses Shannon Moore to the floor and then they lay Jesse Neal out with a double team. They work Jesse over in the corner and then Muffin tries to tear Jesse's arm out with a high angle armbar. Muffin wipes Jesse out with a big boot and then Gunner neutralizes him with a chinlock. Jesse hits a jawbreaker and makes the hot tag to Shannon, who kicks Muffin's legs out from under him and hits a moonsault but Gunner breaks up the pin. Muffin goes for a big boot but Shannon moves and he hits Gunner. Ink Inc hits the fireman's carry/Blockbuster on Muffin for the win.

    Winners: Ink Inc

We go backstage to Kurt Angle, who tells Steiner and Crimson that this is the night they've been planning for weeks. His phone rings and it's They. Angle says they're on, and they can't wait to see the looks on their faces.

Still to come: Jeff Hardy challenges Ken Anderson for the WWE Divas Title, as well as a look behind the scenes at the Jarrett family.

We go to Christy Hemme, who is on location in Oklahoma where the judge has granted a continuance on the Dixie Carter-Hulk Hogan legal proceedings and will make a decision on March 4th.

We go back out to Mike Tenay and Taz, and a frantic Eric Young comes up and says that he just saw Kurt Angle backstage and saw who They are, but refuses to say who it is because he's worried about getting killed.

We then go to Jeff and Karen Jarrett's home in Hendersonville, Tennessee and take a tour of the house as Karen talks about how much being married to Kurt Angle sucked and how much better it is being married to Jeff Jarrett. Karen points out her favorite picture in the house, a framed photo of Jeff Jarrett busting a guitar over Kurt Angle's head, and then the kids say they like the picture of Jeff with Dixie Carter. Jeff gets mad at the kids and tells them that Dixie's name is never to be mentioned in that house again.

Finally, we go somewhere else backstage as Ken Anderson says something about going out to the ring to give a promo later in the show.

Back out to the Impact Zone where Bully Ray and the Pope are in the ring, and Ray says how good it feels to be in the ring with someone he trusts, and also how good it felt to bash Devon's brains in and maybe now Devon will realize that Ray was 3D and Devon was just the sidekick, the costar, and the guy who got his tables. Ray has a new partner, who's bigger, badder, rougher, and tougher, but most importantly, he's not weak like Devon was. Pope says there is a God because Samoa Joe has gone to management to request a match with Pope at Against All Odds, and they could have sat across the table, met in the parking lot, or anyplace to talk it out like men, but now that he's done that there's no escape for him because Pope is going to rain down upon him with great vengeance. Once he's done with him, he's going to expose Joe for what he truly is, and that's a Sloppy Joe. Pope has spoken.

This leads right into our next match...

Bully Ray & The Pope vs Brother Devon & Samoa Joe

This turns into a fight right from the start with Joe chasing Pope up the rampy while Ray beats up Devon in the ring. Sakoda comes out to block Pope's escape and they chase Pope to the back as Ray wraps a chain around his fist and goes to nail Devon with it, but Devon knocks him on his butt with a clothesline, tosses him to ringside, and goes out to the floor to continue the beating. Devon tackles Ray onto the rampway and just drills him over and over with punches until a cavalcade of referees come out to pry Devon off of Ray. Ray grabs a cup of something from a fan, takes a mouthful, and spits it in Devon's sons' faces (they were sitting at ringside). Okay, I guess it's...

    No Contest

Still to come: Sarita vs Mickie James in a Taped Fist Match and Jeff Hardy challenges Ken Anderson for the WWE Divas Title!

We're back from commercial as it's time for our next X-Division contender's match...

X-Division #1 Contender's Tournament Match: Jeremy Buck vs Douglas Williams vs Jay Lethal

Buck outmaneuvers the others to start but Williams catches him and tries for Chaos Theory, but Buck got out of the way and dumped Williams to the floor, hitting a quick moonsault off the apron, and then Lethal follows him out with a dive. Lethal tosses Buck back in the ring and hits a springboard spinkick for 2, then Buck hits a jawbreaker on Lethal only for Williams to come in and nail him with a jawbreaker of his own and covers him for 2, then tries to cover Lethal and only gets 2. Williams sets Buck up top as Max Buck, who was sitting on commentary with Mike and Taz, gets up and runs to ringside as Lethal hits both Buck and Williams with a Tower of Doom type move. Lethal covers Williams for 2, but then Williams gets a small package for 2. Lethal and Williams exchange blows in the ring and Lethal goes for the handspring elbow but Williams catches him and hits the Chaos Theory. Max Buck gets on the apron and distracts the referee while Jeremy comes in and nails Williams low, then cradles Lethal for the win.

    Winner: Jeremy Buck

Eric Bischoff is backstage trying to find Ric Flair, who he hasn't spoken to in over a week. Nobody knows where he is since they saw him drinking in London a week ago. Robert Roode says there's nothing to worry about because there is no They and it's just head games. If there really is a They, then they'd better show up with an army because they're Immortal and they're the strongest group in wrestling today. Bischoff tells AJ to just do him a favor: the TNA World Title has to come home tonight, and AJ says not to worry about it because even though they haven't been seeing eye to eye he wants Bischoff to know that WE are in control and Fortune won't take a back seat to ANYBODY ever again. Bischoff tells him that he'd better just bring the title home. Anyone else see where this is going yet?

Sarita is backstage saying that she doesn't really have a strategy for tonight because she doesn't expect her match with Mickie to last that long, and after she's done with her she might find Velvet Sky and smack her around some more. And next week, she has a surprise for all the girls because her cousin Rosita is going to be making her TNA debut.

We go to comments from Jeff Hardy and Ken Anderson from the European tour as they give more comments on what's going to happen tonight on Impact.

Speaking of Anderson, here he comes for an in-ring promo, and he asks Jeff Hardy to join him in the ring. Hardy comes out, and Anderson has a couple of questions, the first being how many assholes we've got in the building tonight (good reaction), and how many Creatures of the Night are in the building (not as good of a reaction), and Anderson says those two groups represented two kids who grew up with the same dream to one day be the WWE Divas Champion...well, not that particular belt because Anderson thinks that belt sucks, but it's what it represents. They both overcame people who told them they're not big, fast, or motivated enough and neither of them deal well with authority figures. However many times they've faced each other, it's never been about them because there's been all kinds of other people running in, and Kurt Angle told him that he's got Anderson's back if he wants, but he wants to tell Angle no thanks because it'll be just Anderson vs Hardy man to man, and asks Hardy what it's going to be. Hardy says Anderson talks a good game and he is the Divas Champion, and he's right because he was a kid who wanted to grow up and become World Champion and they both did that, and if Anderson thinks Hardy needs Immortal to beat him, he's wrong and he'll prove it tonight. (crowd chants prove it) Hardy says we'll dedicate this one to his Creatures of the Night and Anderson's assholes...and may the best man win. Hardy extends his hand and Anderson shakes it as Hardy tells him that the title is rightfully his, then walks off.

Mickie James is backstage saying she's never been in a Taped Fist Match, but she's been in a lot of bar fights and none of those have ever ended pretty, and she doesn't expect it to turn out any differently tonight.

We go back to the Jarretts, as they talk about how they're the kids best friends' and they like instilling values in them. We see the family sitting around the table and Jeff asks everyone what they're thankful for, and all of them say some variation on how great Jeff Jarrett is, except for the little boy, who just holds up his Jeff Jarrett action figure with a big smile on his face.

Back to the ring for our next match...

Taped Fist Match: Sarita vs Mickie James

Mickie quickly snapmares Sarita and dropkicks her in the face but Sarita slips out of the way when Mickie goes for a punch so Mickie dropkicks her instead and then finally opens up with jabs to the ribs, then hit some armdrags and a neckbreaker. Mickie misses a move off the top rope and Sarita goes for a wild swing but Mickie ducks and slides to the floor. Mickie drags Sarita to the outside and went for a punch, but Sarita ducked and Mickie punches the ringpost so Sarita grabs Mickie's hand and slams it into the ringpost again and then into the steps. They head back in and Sarita cranks on Mickie's hand and then slams it into the mat and drops a knee on it. Sarita hammerlocks Micke and drills her in the face, then hits a hammerlock bodyslam. Sarita gets a top wristlock but Mickie rolls out of it so Sarita hits an Angle Slam and puts the boots to Mickie in the corner. Mickie finally slides under Sarita and drills her in the jaw with a straight left hand and Sarita's out, so the referee calls for the bell.

    Winner: Mickie James

Madison Rayne comes out of the crowd and nails Mickie from behind with the loaded glove and then stands moderately tall over Mickie's motionless form.

We go back to Eric Bischoff's office as he's telling Jeff Hardy that Angle's running around making threats and Angle's not prone to exaggerations (PFFFFFF HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!), but Hardy says he'd still be the TNA World Champion of Bischoff and everyone hadn't interfered, and he doesn't want anyone from Immortal getting involved in his match, and asks Bischoff if that's clear. Bischoff says that's totally clear...boss.

We see a video package looking at the recent European tour, and then it's back to the Jarrett house as we see the Jarrett children have a dance party to Jeff Jarrett's entrance music. They have a family hug befor the kids go to bed, and Karen says that the kids may call him Daddy, but her name for him is Big Daddy because he takes care of her in other ways. We then go to Jeff Jarrett and Karen Angle out on the balcony as Jeff Jarrett says he's going to top their wedding day by asking her to renew her vows on Impact for the whole world to see.

    It's main event time!

Hardy nails Anderson from behind while he's doing his introduction at the top of the ramp, but Anderson recovers and they fight their way to ringside. Oh, and Jackson James is the referee. The referees try to get between them and stop them from fighting as Anderson gets Hardy in a crossface chickenwing. Hardy breaks free so Anderson goes after him and they get pulled apart again. They go at it AGAIN as the big guns (Al Snow and Pat Kenney) come out to break it up as we go to commercial.

Okay, we're back from commercial and the match is on...

WWE Divas Title Match: Ken Anderson vs Jeff Hardy

Anderson rocks Hardy with a clothesline and a high crossbody for 2. Anderson scores with a pair of elbowdrops for 2, then Hardy gets a suckerpunch and hits a neckbreaker over the second rope. Hardy whips Anderson to the corner and puts the boots to him then hits a hooking clothesline for 2. Hardy with another neckbreaker and then goes to a chinlock. Anderson fights his way free and gets a sloppy sunset flip for 2 and then Hardy rocks him with another clothesline. Hardy drags Anderson to the corner by the legs and crotches him on the ringpost and Anderson tumbles to the floor. Hardy with a pendulum dropkick to the floor, then rams Anderson into the stairs repeatedly as we suddenly remember that Anderson had that concussion. Hardy rolls Anderson back in and covers for 2 and then goes back to the chinlock. Anderson breaks free again and Hardy hits the Whisper In The Wind to wipe Anderson out again. They get to their feet and exchange blows in the middle of the ring with Anderson coming out on top and then running Hardy over with shoulderblocks and a backdrop. Anderson with a neckbreaker for 2 and then sets up for the Mic Check but Hardy blocks and tries a clothesline, Anderson ducks that and goes for a big spinkick, Hardy ducks but Anderson comes through with a second spinkick. Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate but Anderson blocks so Hardy hits a gourdbuster for 2. Hardy goes for the Twist of Hate again but Anderson shoves him off and Hardy wipes the referee out. Hardy hits an Ace Crusher and goes for a cover but now Rob Terry, Matt Hardy, and Gunner & Muffin run out and attack Anderson. Fortune follows them out and they come in and high five Immortal, but instead of attacking Anderson they take out Immortal and then circle Hardy. Roode lays Hardy out with a clothesline and then AJ gives Hardy the Styles Clash, and Anderson crawls across the ring and covers Hardy. The referee makes it back into the ring and makes the three count.

    Winner: Ken Anderson

Immortal stands at the top of the ramp staring in disbelief at what just happened in the ring. Hardy rolls out of the ring as AJ picks up the Divas Title belt and hands it to Anderson. We'll be right back after this commercial and we'll find out what AJ has to say about what we just saw!

Okay, we're back and AJ has the mic. He tells the fans to throw up the Fortune sign and tells the fans to look at what we have got here. AJ told Bischoff that Fortune were not taking a back seat to anyone and he brought this all on himself because this is Fortune and this is their home. He asks Bischoff who he thought he was talking about, because Them is Us. Bischoff comes out and calls AJ an ungrateful son of a bitch, an inbred, hillbilly, punk ass nothing, and those four punks amounted to nothing before Hulk Hogan got here and they weren't worth the crap it would take to fertilize their grave, and asks if this is how they repay him. AJ asks if he's pissed off that they saw through his lies and that he put a billion dollar company out of business, and he came to TNA to do the same and it's not going to happen. They started spending money, changing things, and hiring guys who didn't beling in wrestling in the first place. Bischoff tells AJ that he's digging his own grave and the only reason they're all in there is because of all the hard work that they did, and Jeff Hardy is more of a success on his worst day than AJ has been in his entire career. AJ says that these are the guys who have built this company, but Bischoff says they were nothing until Hulk Hogan got here, and tells AJ to mark March 3rd on his calendar because the decision will be handed down, Hulk Hogan will regain control of the company, and they're going to hang AJ and his buddies out to dry. AJ asks how that's going to happen when Fortune takes Immortal apart and AJ sticks his foot so far up Bischoff's ass that he'll be spitting out shoelaces. Bischoff looks angry as Fortune stands in the ring flashing the Fortune hand sign.
