New high-visibility helmet from BMW
06 August 2010
BMW has unveiled a new fluorescent yellow System 6 helmet, a high-visibility design first developed for Dutch police riders.
For £375 motorcyclists can now buy the striking yellow flip-fronts that weigh in at just 1570g and are among the quietest (86 dB at 60mph) of their kind currently on the market.
Additional features include a drop-down internal sun shield and a mist-resistant double-layered visor. For riders who prefer more sober colours, the System 6 is also available in black, grey and metallic white.
Dave Alexander, BMW aftersales manager said: "The System 6 has been a very successful helmet since its launch last year. It's one of the lightest and quietest helmets on the market.
"We've had a lot of demand for fluorescent clothing and accessories - particularly from riders in urban areas who are very conscious of the need to be visible in all conditions. We're very pleased to be able to offer the added safety of the fluorescent colours in a stylish, modern-looking and well featured helmet."
