A fan gave us the English translation of the poem "Credo", that I posted in "bijlage" in Dutch some days ago.

I believe in a river
that flows from the sea to the mountains
I ask no more of poetry than
to make a map of this river

I don't want to strike water from stones
but I want to carry water to them
dry black rock
becomes blue water rock

but the newspapers wish it otherwise
knock off the heads of dry and black
throw up dams and force
an about turn
