Toen we deze morgen onze ogen opentrokken was het wit buiten en nog volop aan het sneeuwen. We vertrekken dus ietsjes vroeger naar de luchthaven waar de security toch behoorlijk pittig is. De vlucht zelf is er eentje zoals er dagelijks duizenden zijn en als we landen in Atlanta begint het te sneeuwen (niet veel maar op zich is dit voor Atlanta uitzonderlijk). We hebben ook een record gebroken: binnen het uur waren we door emigration, security en zaten we in onze tuttut naar huis.
Ondertussen hebben we de poesjes opgehaald die hebben zich blijkbaar goed gedragen en al wat boodschappen gedaan. De rest van de avond gaat over het weer want het is hier dus uitzonderlijk koud met zelfs vijvers die bevrozen zijn, vluchten die afgelast worden en behoorlijk wat problemen op de weg, maar daar komen we nog wel op terug. Nu zijn we moe en gaan we slapen.
We woke up this morning in a white landscape and when we left our parents in law it was still snowing. We arrived plenty ahead of our flight but security was very strict. The flight itself was uneventful and the moment we arrived in Atlanta it did start to snow! Not a lot to our European standards but it is exceptional for this area. We also set a new record: within an hour after arrive we clear imigration, bagagge claim, security check and are fully loaded in our car on the route home!
In the meantime we have collected our kitties who behaved very well and have done some needed grocery shopping. The remainder of the evening is about the exceptional weather as it is very cold in Atlanta and even some pounds are frozen, flights are cancelled and driving is getting difficult due to ice as the evening is progressing. But more on the weather tomorrow, now we are too tired. Good night!
