Natal chart. Natal is the branch of astrology dealing with the individual. This horoscope, cast for your birth time, showing life potentials, not only reveals your sun sign, i.e. if your Sun is in the zodiacal sign of Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, or Pisces. The position of the Moon, the ascendant and the midheaven, for instance, are other important points to consider. If you are certain about your time of birth, you may want to take an extra look at the planets in houses and houses in signs, since they also help in making your astrological report unique. Chart interpretations in Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.
Chart for now. The ascendant or first house cusp is the exact degree in the zodiac which is rising on the eastern horizon. As the earth revolves, the degree of this point, also known as the rising sign, changes every four minutes. This function displays a graphic representation of a chart for now, the aspects – conjunction, sextile, square, trine and opposition – of the chart, as well as a list of all the planets – Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto – in each of the signs.
Synastry chart. Synastry, or the practice of comparing the horoscope of two individuals, is an age-old technique which remains one of the most popular uses of astrology. Most books on synastry focus on the aspects formed between the Sun, the Moon, and the planets in one chart to the other. The synastry charts of any two individuals can be compared: business partners, parent/child, friends, enemies or whatever. The purpose here, however, will be limited to the comparison of partners in a romantic or potentially romantic relationship, the synastry of love relationships. Factors often considered in a synastry reading are ascendants, Sun signs, elements, the Moon, Mars and Venus aspects, and the houses.
Transit chart. A transit is the position and movement of a planet on a given day, used in reference to planets that pass over or aspect a natal planet or cross a natal house. These personal interpretations are sort of a newspaper horoscope written only for you. If you don’t know your birth time, do not pay any attention the aspects of the planets to the ascendant. The duration of the transits vary. The transits of the important planets, i.e. the ones further away from the Sun, have the greatest influence and determine the most important events in life.
Progressed chart. Progression is the general term applied to any method of advancing the planets and house cusps of a natal horoscope to a particular time after birth. This function calculates a series of comparisons between the active chart and a regular progression. The totals of negative and positive points, and their sum, are displayed for each date.
ASTROLOGY, TEXTS
Natal astrology. Junior astrology lessons, presenting the basics of astrology and a brief history of its development, the principles of proper delineation and the meaning of aspects, delineation of complete charts, their progression, and the delineation of the progression. These lessons cover branches such as judicial astrology (nations and governments as they are affected by celestial bodies) and horary astrology (applying astrology to some specific question of the moment – of the "hour") but concentrate on natal.
The message of the stars. Senior astrology lessons. An esoteric exposition of natal and medical astrology explaining the arts of reading the horoscope and diagnosing disease. In order to further aid the student of the stellar science the authors present a number of horoscopes of people who have come to them for help in their trouble, therefore knowing these cases to be authentic and trusting that their delineations of their various ailments by means of astro-diagnosis may prove a true guide.
ASTROLOGY, SOFTWARE
Astro123 1.25. Astro123 does natal chart analysis, transit interpretations – includes a new transit report for up to 366 days of transits – and all the calculations for relationships such as composite charts, synastry, dual cosmodynes, bi-wheels, etc. It has the latest dual cosmodyne algorithms for relationship compatibility analysis. This version also has extra texts included that allows the user to do relationship reports (2,48 MB).
Astrolog 5.41G. The original Astrolog 5.40 is a many featured and customizable astrology chart calculation program for DOS, Windows, Mac, and Unix, used in 35+ countries on six continents. It is 100% freeware and requires no registration fee. The complete source code is available. Astrolog features wheels, aspects, midpoints, relationship charts, transits, progressions, some interpretations, astro-graphy, local horizon, constellations, planet orbits, dispositors, various influence charts, biorhythms, different zodiacs, central planets, 15 house systems, 8400 year ephemeris, asteroids, uranians, fixed stars, Arabic parts, script files and macros, interactive PC & MS/X11 Windows graphics, smooth animation of charts, graphic files in PostScript, Windows metafile, and bitmap formats, and more. The modified Windows(tm) version Astrolog 5.41G available for download here has been altered to include Swiss ephemeris, added fixed stars, improved graphics, and new interpretation way, and has texts for planets in signs, planets in houses, house cusps in signs, dispositors in signs and houses, transit to radix, transit house ingress, and fixed stars (898 kB).
AstroMart 8.2. AstroMart 8.2 is now available. It has been validated for Windows XP, but it will also run on Windows 98, ME, or 2000 if you have at least a 500 MHz processor and 64 Mb memory. All the problems with display, printing, file access, installation and uninstallation in Windows XP have been fixed. The program takes into account users, including non-administrative users, i.e. you need to log on as administrator to install the program and then each user has his own data. There are many improvements, notably for the graphics and the interface for Internet (12,0 MB).
Transits 1.10. Are you interested in learning more about the planetary influences that occur each day in your life? Now you can with Transits. Transits is a Windows based astrology calculation and study aid program that calculates your natal chart, then lists your daily transits along with text that you can use to learn more about planetary energies (28 kB).
CARTOMANCY, TEXTS
Elemental dignities tarot lessons. Tarot cards are now the most popular cards used for fortune telling, and they are also widely used as aids to meditation, mystical development, ritual workings, and spell-craft. When learning elemental tarot, which is recommended here, is not as important to memorize the individual divinatory meaning of each card as it is to see patterns such as groups of elements. Elemental dignities make it possible to see at a glance how each card strengthens and weakens each other to create a picture of the energy flows that relate to the subject of the reading.
Important Factors of Successful Card Reading. Professional Card Reading is very deep. It is based on the old gypsy card reading system (52 cards deck with a joker). Many interpretations in it are allied to ancient Tarot cards. Quick Reference Card Reading (36 cards deck) is less sophisticated, than Professional Card Reading, in some ways it reminds of traditional home entertaining card reading “just for fun.” Both Professional and Quick Reference Card Reading take into account several important factors. You may use reverse interpretation on regular playing cards if you mark the deck on the "top".
CARTOMANCY, SOFTWARE
Orphalese Tarot. A serious program aimed at tarot professionals and deck collectors, although any tarot enthusiast will enjoy using it. The program behaves like a real deck of cards. The cards are like "post-its": you can move them around the screen, shuffle them, deal them, reverse them and so on. You can use any set of images for the card faces. The Orphalese Tarot also supports non-rectangular, even circular decks. Amongst its many features it provides a portal to an online forum where users can chat in real time and exchange tarot decks and imagery. On the Orphalese homepage you will also find links to several independent reviews and articles regarding the program (8,75 MB).
MISCELLANEOUS
Astrolog FAQ. For those who want to use Astrolog 5.41, this is a primer containing many useful hints regarding downloading, configuration and further use of the program. Note: If you use Windows XP or Windows 2000, you don’t need an autoexec file. All you really want is to set the appropriate environment variables. You can do this by Start / Setting / Control Panel / System / Advanced / Environment Variables. Inside that just enter variable names (as example: tz) and values (as example: cet-1cst) you need, and you’re good to go.
Astro (true type) font. The textbooks Natal astrology and Message of the stars both use a font called Astro (true type). If you download these books from this website for further study offline, you should install the Astro font, otherwise you won’t see any astrological characters on the screen. Once downloaded, go to "Control panel / Fonts" then "File / Install" to setup the font (10 kB).
Astrolog interpretation texts. With Astrolog 5.41 there is the possibility to use alternative interpretations, which are text records, filled by the user in any language he uses. Here are files that can be filled by the user himself, along with a interpretation database file of English texts modified in order to comply with this program.
Atlas. An atlas containing the latitudes, longitudes and time zones necessary for casting an astrological chart. Save as text file, include it in your Astrolog directory, then make a catalogue including the Astrolog icon for the program itself along with a shortcut to the atlas and you will have the information you need at your convenience. Covers the larger cities of the world.
VB_FILES.ZIP. You must already have msvbvm50.dll and oleaut32.dll in your c:windowssystem directory or you must download and unzip vb_files.zip in order to be able to install Astro123 (991 kB).
