De GPS gaf vandaag bij het opstarten aan: "Rij 92 km rechtdoor en sla dan rechtsaf". Voor fietsnavigatie heel ongewoon, maar de fietsroute volgt dan ook volledig de 101 Highway. Dit betekent ook dat je continue op de pechstrook van een, bij momenten, drukke weg moet rijden. Een heel ander gevoel dan de fietstochten in Europa die ik tot nu toe gedaan heb. Meestal is ze vrij breed, maar bij bruggen en steilere stukken verdwijnt ze steevast of wordt ze heel smal. Het is dan kwestie om helemaal in het midden te gaan rijden of indien de baan breed genoeg is, netjes uiterst rechts te rijden. De chauffeurs zijn over het algemeen wel heel voorzichtig, maar er rijden natuurlijk ook dikke mobilhomes tussen.
De natuur en uitzichten waren vanmorgen weer ongelooflijk met zelfs een bende zeeleeuwen die een concert ten beste gaven,
Deze namiddag was een minder interessant stuk met vijvers en bossen, maar geen zicht op zee.
The navigation today started with "Drive 92 km forward and then turn right". Most of the time, the shoulder is wide, but at bridges and steeper parts, it disappears or becomes very narrow. At that moment, its just a matter of driving in the middle of the road or staying nicely as much as possible to the right. Drivers are mainly very careful, but also very big RV's are passing frequently..
The environment and the nature in general were again incredible this morning with even a See Lions concert.
The afternoon was less interesting with ponds and forests, but no sea view.
