Vanaf vandaag zit ik op de route en het is al meteen duidelijk.
De uitzichten over de kust zijn super mooi en ik kom zelfs el enkele andere fietsers tegen. Jammer genoeg is het een verlengd weekend met Labor Day en dat is goed te merken aan het drukke verkeer op de kustweg.
Het fietsen langs de drukke kustweg blijft toch wennen. Er is maar 1 klim van een paar kilometer met amper auto's, al de rest blijft rijden op de pechstrook met continue auto's naast je. Maar dat kan de pret niet drukken!
Meevaller vandaag is ook de sterke wind die in de namiddag komt meespelem. Vooruitgeduwd te worden door een wind van meer dan 40 km/h is zalig..
Starting today, I'm driving the cycling route and that becomes clear right away.
The coast views are amazing and I even met a few fellow cyclists. Too bad that this weekend is the Labor Day weekend which is clear by the busy traffic along the coast.
It takes a moment to get used to cycling the busy coastal road. Only one clime of a few miles had less traffic, the remaining part meant driving the shoulder with cars driving close by all the time. But it doesn't stop the fun!
A stroke of luck was the strong back wind that started in the afternoon. Getting pushed in the back with of more than 25 mph is great.
