Liam Neeson wederom op oorlogspad in Taken 2
 Taken was een kleinschalig filmpje dat opgepikt werd door Fox, vervolgens werd gedumpt en uiteindelijk alsnog een enorme hit werd in 2008. De actiethriller had Liam Neeson in de hoofdrol en werd geregisseerd door Pierre Morel en geschreven door onder meer Luc Besson.
Er wordt uiteraard druk nagedacht over een sequel op Taken. Dit keer is Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3) de regisseur en onlangs vernamen we dat naast Neeson ook dochterlief Maggie Grace terug zal keren.
Megaton zegt het volgende over de film:
Taken is a really difficult project because it was a big surprise for everybody. When the movie was released in France [in February 2008], it didnt work, and one year after in the U.S., it made a huge success. It was the same movie. So when youre making Taken 2, you have to think about all of this why it worked, and how did this movie work in the U.S.
As everybody is waiting for the minimum, we have to be more clever. So Liam is going to be there like he was, but even better. But its a little tricky because Liam already did Taken 2 with Unknown, even if its not the same story. Its not far from the same kind of thing, with a secret agent; they took everything and tried to make this movie with it. But whatever.
Uit het vervolg zal blijken dat Neesons dochter bijzonder veel weg heeft van haar vader. De rol van Grace zal een stuk groter worden dan in het origineel en ze zal hier en daar ook flink van zich afbijten.
The story is not the story youre waiting for, because its totally different. Maggie [Grace] has a huge, huge part in this movie, and then that was the really interesting thing
.I dont want to be the specialist of girl action heroes, but that is the real point of me taking Taken 2.
Liam will be all throughout the movie like he is the same bad ass and maybe a little more human. But Maggie will exist, because she was not really existing in the first one. She was the victim, so we were tracking her. But really she will be there in this one.
De opnames beginnen in oktober en de film moet in 2013 uitkomen.
