    Affleck & Alba in nieuwe Winterbottom

    Casey Affleck (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) en Jessica Alba (Sin City) hebben getekend voor een rol in The Killer Inside Me, de voor 2010 geplande misdaadthriller van de Britse regisseur Michael Winterbottom. Dat meldt The Hollywood Reporter.

    De film wordt een bewerking van Jim Thompsons gelijknamige boek uit 1952. De Amerikaanse noir-auteur schreef voornamelijk misdaadromans die zich lieten kenmerken door een onverbloemde gewelddadigheid. Het boek werd eerder al verfilmd in 1976, met Stacy Keach (Fat City) in de hoofdrol.

    Het verhaal gaat over een saaie Texaanse sheriff (Affleck) die in een neerwaartse spiraal terechtkomt, en zich tot een meedogenloze en sociopathische moordenaar ontpopt. Alba zal een prostituee spelen.

    Chris Hanley (American Psycho), Robert Weinbach, Andrew Eaton (24 Hour Party People) en Bradford Schlei zullen de film produceren naar een scenario van Weinbach and John Curran.
