    Theron met Cruise in The TouristCharlize Theron gaat de vrouwelijke hoofdrol spelen in de thriller ‘The Tourist’. Al eerder was bekendgemaakt dat Tom Cruise de mannelijke hoofdrol in deze thriller gaat spelen. ‘The Tourist’ wordt een Amerikaanse remake van de gelijknamige Franse thriller uit 2005. Dat meldt het Amerikaanse vakblad Variety.

    Theron zal in de film een geheim agente spelen die een door Cruise gespeelde Amerikaanse toerist in een complot betrekt waarmee zij haar misdadige ex-geliefde te grazen hoopt te nemen.

    Het scenario van de film wordt momenteel bijgewerkt door Christopher McQuarrie, scriptschrijver van onder meer ‘The Usual Suspects’. Deze was ook verantwoordelijk voor het scenario van Cruise zijn W.O.I-thriller 'Valkyrie', die vanaf 22 januari 2009 te zien zal zijn.
